This episode features a discussion with Greg Sharrow, the founder of Sharrow Marine, about propeller technology and how it can improve boat performance. Sharrow explains how he came up with the idea for the Sharrow propeller, which is designed to be more efficient and quieter than traditional propellers. He discussed the importance of propeller pitch and how it affects factors like top speed, fuel efficiency, and handling. Sharrow highlighted how the Sharrow propeller can provide up to 100% more speed in the mid-range RPMs, 30% better fuel efficiency, and improved reverse control and maneuverability compared to standard props. He also talked about how the Sharrow propeller can be customized for each boat to optimize performance. Overall, the discussion provided valuable insights into the often overlooked but critical role that propellers play in a boat's performance.

Mike Sharrow is the head of C12, the most prominent network of Christian CEOs. Sharrow talked with Jerry about how ESG, DEI and SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) have taken a small kernel of Christian truth and built a system which creates division and rancor in the workplace. Sharrow uncovers the roots of these toxic ideas in critical theory: an offshoot of Marxism which divides the world into oppressor and oppressed, with no escape from those categories possible. Sharrow also talks about the Holy Spirit is expanding the C12 network internationally in Egypt and increasingly in Brazil, which is undergoing revival and a wave of Christian discipleship in the marketplace. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In 2018, Carol Sharrow, in a delusional state, drove out on to the Goodall Park baseball field in the middle of a little league game. Her actions would take the life of grandfather, Douglas Parkhurst, who died while pushing children out of the way. But his hero status would quickly take a dark turn when a secret from the past revealed that he too was a dirtbag. The deadly consequences of Carol's actions would be viewed by many as fate intervening in the scales of justice for Carolee Ashby. The year 1972 is often hailed as an inflection point in the evolution of women's rights. Congress passed Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a law that outlawed sex-based discrimination in education. Many Americans celebrate Title IX for having ushered in an era of expanded opportunity for women's athletics; yet fifty years after its passage, sex-based inequalities in college athletics remain the reality. James N. Druckman and Elizabeth A. Sharrow's book Equality Unfulfilled: How Title IX's Policy Design Undermines Change to College Sports (Cambridge UP, 2023) explains why.  The book identifies institutional roadblocks - including sex-based segregation, androcentric organizational cultures, and overbearing market incentives - that undermine efforts to achieve systemic change. Drawing on surveys with student-athletes, athletic administrators, college coaches, members of the public, and fans of college sports, it highlights how institutions shape attitudes toward gender equity policy. It offers novel lessons not only for those interested in college sports but for everyone seeking to understand the barriers that any marginalized group faces in their quest for equality. Kelly McFall is Professor of History and Director of the Honors Program at Newman University.

Episode Description: Are you a leader who seeks to build a business that honors God in all areas? Our guest this week is Mike Sharrow, President and CEO of C12 Business Forums. Mike is someone who has wrestled with this question and helps Christian business owners that find themselves on a similar journey. Through his work with C12, Mike is encouraging and challenging others with the message that “God cares about what you do, why you do it, how you do it, and what it accomplishes.”   As Christian leaders, we are called to integrate our faith and our work with excellence. In order to build a God-honoring business, Mike shares about the importance of the alignment of an organization's mission with the essential components of operating a company. Often, a leader may feel isolated throughout this process. C12 exists to meet that need by helping leaders find a community for mutual encouragement.   On this episode, you will hear Mike and Bobby discuss: How to build a good business AND live out your purpose in Christ. Navigating this cultural and generational moment. Cultivating a “Buffalo Culture” that runs into the storms that businesses encounter. The reality of business as an amazing frontier for ministry.   For more information please visit: joinC12.com ____________________________________________________________ About the guest: Mike Sharrow serves as President & CEO of C12 Business Forums, the global leader in CEO/Owner peer advisory groups for Christians serving more than 3,300 members across the US, SE Asia and Brazil. Mike joined C12 initially as a Member himself in 2010 after previous roles in F50, financial services, management consulting, and non-profit contexts before serving as CEO in 2016. Mike is a graduate of Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL), married to Jacqui since 2002 and the father of two girls.   About the host: Following a successful career as CEO, Bobby sold his business to a publicly-traded company.  In what he calls his "second half of life", Bobby seeks to pour Biblically-based principles into growth-minded business, church, and non-profit leaders.   Through Values-Driven Leadership, Bobby serves as an Executive Coach and Training Consultant for organizations.  He shares many of his principles and practices through a weekly blog, the True North Leader podcast, and through three books he has authored:   Principled Profits: Outward Success Is an Inside Job True North Business: A Leader's Guide to Extraordinary Growth and Impact The Freedom Paradox: Is Unbridled Freedom Dividing America?   Find out more at valuesdrivenculture.com

In this episode, Jeff, Jeff, and Mike discuss: Being a pastor in corporate America and ministering through business. The training center of the church. Stewardship of resources given and kept. Servant leadership and how you do business.   Key Takeaways: Compartmentalizing things is actually what creates dysfunction in discipleship and suspended animation of destiny. You're only as spiritual as you are Thursday at 3:00 PM in a bad meeting. Generosity comes when you are focusing most on loving God and loving people. Love is more compelling than “should” ever will be. There are long term returns when you use good Biblical principles in running your business.   "I've come to love the uniqueness of whatever space God's got you in. Be who you're called to be, and I think it's not even just about being in utility for the kingdom, I think is actually key to our discipleship." —  Mike Sharrow Connect with Mike Sharrow:Website: https://www.joinc12.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikesharrow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/mikesharrow  Connect with Jeff Thomas: Website: https://www.arkosglobal.com/Book: https://www.arkosglobal.com/trading-upEmail: jeff.thomas@arkosglobal.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/ArkosGlobalAdv Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/arkosglobal/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/arkosglobaladvisorsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/arkosglobaladvisors/

We also talk about how you can't steward something well if you don't know what the owner wants...and you can't know what the owner wants unless you take time to know the owner! Why the work life balance may be a myth, a trap of how we set up words. Mike talks about how to tell when your work has become less about providing and more about chasing an idol of success. For business employers and Employees How businesses can thrive when lived with deeper purpose and value, including attracting talent that wants purpose, regardless of their faith persuasion.
