I explore a very powerful strategy called 4DX, The 4 Disciplines of Execution, that will help you turn your goals from a fancy todo list item, into reality. And this strategy works not just for business goals, but also for personal goals. You may have heard of the phrase "Work ON your business, not IN your business". And I'm sure you understand what that generally means as a concept. But do we REALLY understand what that means when it comes to execution? What are the actual, nitty-gritty details that help you work ON your business and not IN your business? 4DX is the acronym for The 4 Disciplines of Execution, which is a systematic approach to achieving your most important goals. It was developed by Sean Covey, Chris McChesney, and Jim Huling, and it has been successfully used by hundreds of thousands of individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide. I lived in New York for 10 years, from 2000 to 2010. And I worked in New York City for a good part of those 10 years. And while working in the city, I occasionally had to go to offsite meetings in a different part of the city, I went to office parties after work, got together with friends and colleagues for a couple of drinks on Fridays, I went to some entrepreneur and tech meetups, I even spoke at a couple of those meetups, and every single time, after the evening ended, I dreaded one thing and one thing only: Trying to get a cab to go back to Grand Central station, from where I would then take the Metro to go back to Ossining, where I lived at the time. If you've ever lived or worked in a crowded city like New York city, you know how ridiculously hard it was as recently as barely 10 years ago to get a cab. And if it was rush hour, just fuhgeddaboudit. Also, around 8 or 9 PM when people were exiting concerts and sports events and parties, it was darn near impossible to get a yellow cab, because every single cab was either already taken, or they were not available, and if they were available, you were probably competing with 20 other people all spread out on the street, all with their arms extended, trying to get the attention of the lone cab with the light at the top. And then it came down to who the cab driver saw first, and it always felt like people who looked more wall-streety, more attractive, with formal or fancy clothes, somehow always seemed to get the cab ahead of me. And this was a problem literally every day, for literally tens of thousands of people who were at a party or meeting or event, or simply were too tired to take the subway. And I can guarantee you, 99% of them, at some point, wished so badly that they could press a button on their phone and get a cab. Guess what? Someone did make it happen. And it was called... I've talked and written about what I call "Start With The Last Thing First". E.g., when it comes to creating your offer, start with the last thing first - your sales page. I have an acronym for Urgency Scarcity and Exclusivity: USE. You've got to use USE in all of your offers. Every offer should end in a call to action (CTA) ā like āBuy thisā, āClick hereā, āSign upā or āCall usā. But a CTA alone isn't always enough to get your audience to take action. There needs to be some additional motivation to get them to take action now. Without that added motivation, your offer will probably get set aside for āI'll get back to this laterā. And ālaterā usually means āneverā, because you may not get another chance to get them back to your website. The reason why I had the biggest book launch of my life, was because it was all about The Offer. I frequently encounter entrepreneurs and digital creators online who spend a lot of time creating an elaborate online course, spend months, even a year or more creating a course or an entire digital library, working on the content, setting up the membership site, hiring a copywriter to write the copy for the sales page, lining up affiliate partners to help them with the promotion, setting up a bunch of Facebook ads, priming their list. Whether it's audio or video, so they are trying to create courses or podcast. They have a lot of skill, knowledge and experience in certain subject, they have niche experts. And they are trying to create something and now what's next? How do you sell it, how do you deliver it, how do you get traffic, how do you build an audience, how do you monetize it? That's where I'm expected.2:52Problem Ravi helps solve: Delivering and monetizing digital content.3:10Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Ravi: They usually know how to create different types of content, but they don't know where to get started, they don't know what to do with it after they created it. Whether it's a PDF, a podcast, or audio. They are able record, creating audio video is easy, but next step is how do I put it on the website, how do I make sure only authorized people can access it, how do I give access to it only after they paid. How do I sell my digital products? Then, when it's launch, where do I find an audience? I can't just go and spam my existing social Facebook feed over and over again. Building an audience is probably right there but how to create, deliver and monetize digital content.4:20What are some of the common mistakes that folks make before finding Ravi and his solution: The don't know where to start. I've been selling online since 1998. And in all of those years, I've tried and tested an insane number of tools - desktop software, online services, and mobile apps. And I started making a list of all the free stuff I'm using almost every day, and the list came up with just blows my to think that I depend on so many of these tools on a day-to-day basis, yet I've never had to pay for most of them. So here are some of the greatest free and freemium tools most of which I couldn't live without - and wouldn't want to live without. Tip #1: If you write a Kindle book solely for the purpose of making money, then you're going to be terribly disappointed, because a Kindle book will simply not make much money for a vast majority of the authors. And that includes me as well. Listen to the show for the rest at https://SubscribeMe.fm Or search for "SubscribeMe.fm" in your favorite podcast app.

When I say "Don't Write a Best-Selling Book (Do This Instead)", I'm not ACTUALLY telling you to intentionally NOT write a great book or I'm not telling you that you should write a below-average, low quality book. The main point I'm trying to make is, don't set out with the intention of writing a "best-seller", because there are some downsides to having that kind of a mindset. Let me explain. Kevin Kelly wrote, "To be a successful creator... you donāt need millions of dollars or millions of customers, millions of clients or millions of fans... You need only thousands of true fans." I just finished a 3-day launch of my new course at https://1001TrueFans.com. I had over 150 people unsubscribe from my various lists these past couple of days because I sent them an email about the course. So I figured, I would share how I felt about that on today's show, in case you're also going through something similar, and I hope that it helps you realize that you are way more valuable to your true fans, and that we should obsessively focus on those who stay, than those who leave. Question: I would like to start monetizing my podcast by creating a membership club for new episodes. Do I put all the available episodes in the club and make them pay to listen, or leave a certain amount as free to continue attracting new customers. My Answer: I don't think you should put every single episode behind a paywall and make it all premium-only. You've got to have free episodes there, because that's what allows you to attract new listeners, and turn them into podcast subscribers, and then eventually, into paying members. If you have no free content, it's very difficult for anyone to know how good your content is. Listen to the rest at https://SubscribeMe.fmĀ

What if you weren't married to any specific platform to build your audience? What if your product was platform-agnostic? Or platform independent? As it should be, right? You don't create a course only for your Facebook followers. You want your entire audience on ALL platforms to buy your course, right? So if your goal is to get more leads, there are WAYYY better options for generating leads, at least when you're first getting started, than simply starting a new YouTube channel, or a new Podcast, or a new Instagram account and THEN trying to grow the followers or views or downloads on that platform, and THEN trying to get them to sign up for your course. https://SubscribeMe.fm

The saying goes that people judge a book by its cover. That is still true to some extent even today. But what's even more today in the age of endless stream of content and information and noise, is that your book is no longer being judged by just its cover, it is judged by its table of contents. So if someone were to look past the cover of your life, and look into the table of contents of the content you're putting out there into the world, what will they learn? What will I learn? Podcast Monetization, Direction, Strategy. Today's episode is the first of an AMA series I'm doing - AMA stands for Ask Me Anything. So a little while ago, on my birthday, I was feeling extremely grateful and thankful to my customers, my audience, my followers, my friends and my family. So I asked my audience, via email, via Facebook, via Instagram and even via Twitter, to submit their questions to me, and I said I would answer them on my podcast. So here goes the first question, which is about monetizing a podcast and getting your listeners to pay for premium audio content. Listen to the show for the rest. https://SubscribeMe.fmĀ

So what does it really mean to stream audio or video? Is downloading a file the same as streaming? Does every video you watch online a streaming video? The 3 types of "streaming" - Progressive Downloads, Adaptive & True Streaming, why one of them is not even actual streaming, what you should know about, why you should care, and the way it impacts how you deliver content to your audience. I'm not going to go too deep into this, because you and I, we don't need to exactly become audio or video engineers. But I know enough to be really dangerous, enough to create an incredible plugin atĀ https://S3MediaVault.com. And I'm going to boil it down to some simple concepts and examples so you too know just enough to come across as a well-informed person at your next technical conversation at a party of geeks and nerds. But seriously, the more important thing is that I want you to be able to make an informed decision when it comes to the media that you're creating and and how you're delivering it to your website visitors, subscribers and paid and free members. https://SubscribeMe.fmĀ

Go Deep, Then Wide:Ā One day I woke up and figured out, that I have to do what my late father R.N. Jayagopal DID, not what he SAID. But in my father's case, he obviously wasn't trying to mess with me or trying to mislead me. It's just that he himself didn't fully quite understand his own mega-success in life. And it is really an immutable law to learning from successful people, is to do as they do, not as they say. Keep the video short. I call this the micro-tip strategy. Create a short 30 second to 1 minute video with a short and sweet tip about your niche. So for example, in my niche, which is digital marketing, creating membership sites and online courses, one micro tip would be: "Hey, don't use YouTube for hosting your sales and promotional videos, because starting last September, YouTube made a major change to what shows up at the end of your videos that are embedded on your website." See what I did there? Obviously, that's not the whole tip, but you get the idea. In fact, I recently just created a full podcast episode titled "YouTube Suckes If You're Doing This", and you can listen to the full episode on my other show, at SubscribeMe.fm.
