Jim is joined by Luke Thompson (A.V. Club, SuperHeroHype and more) ostensibly to talk about the recently concluded Obi-Wan series, which they do - before the conversation goes full tilt into all things Star Wars. Big fun with perspectives that'll make you pump your fist, and some that'll make you leave the room (with even a little ThunderCats thrown in...).

Legends of S.H.I.E.L.D.: An Unofficial Marvel Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fan Podcast

Just where is Marvel taking us? Whatever it is the hosts all agree that Marvel is setting us up for an incredible Agent Carter Event finale next week. This week's hosts discuss Agent Carter episode 7 "SNAFU." As always the hosts also discuss the week in Marvel news, interact with the live Mixlr chat room and review down all the awesome Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. feedback.   Welcome Neil to Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. [1:46] Lauren is undergoing Black Widow training. While she is gone Neil joins the podcast crew and regales us of the bounty of his television and comic book knowledge.   Reminder: Geekation Meetup 15-17 May 2015 in Chicago, IL [2:36] Click on the Geekation banner on the front page of the GonnaGeek.com website for more information about the upcoming meetup in May, 2015 including hotel information.   Agent Carter SNAFU [3:44] Welcome to the Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussion of the Agent Carter Event penultimate episode! SNAFU was directed by Vincent Misiano and written by Chris Dingess, an experienced crew which showed during this great episode. There was incredible interplay  between Dooley, Thompson, Sousa and Carter. And some of the best interaction between Jarvis and Carter of the series so far was in this episode. Dottie showed off some freaky skills and Leviathan is positioned to do some very bad things with the fruits of their Stark-tech theft which we've coined as "Angry Murder Gas." Is Thompson underway with a redemption arc? And sadly we bid a heroic farewell to Chief Dooley, a man who was doing the best he could to keep up with the realities of a new Superhero world. Just what is Dr. Fenhoff doing with the ring and what's his true origin story? And finally will Marvel be able to tie up all the Agent Carter loose ends during this event next episode like Finow, the lost voice boxes, what is really going on with the Stark Tech and don;t forget Roxxon Corporations involvement into the story as well.   EXTRAS: Star Trek Generations Ribbon - which Haley has never seen yet. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111280/?ref_=nv_sr_1   Continuum http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1954347/?ref_=nv_sr_1   YVRShoots - A record of movie and television shoots around the Vancouver area http://yvrshoots.com/   NEWS [28:59]   [MCU TV] AoS News - Mockingbird, played by Adrianne Palicki, is bumped up to a show regular. Crew can talk about the unresolved secret that she’s keeping; Relationship with Hunter and whether we’ll see her character hook up with Hawkeye at any point. Neil is happy to gush about how he has always had a soft spot for the character all the way back to WestCoast Avengers #1 and the First Hawkeye limited series.   Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Casts Drea de Matteo as Karla Faye Gideon http://comicbook.com/2015/02/12/agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-casts-drea-de-matteo-as-karla-faye-gideon/   [MCU] Cap 3 (Civil War) News - Robert Downey Jr. is interviewed for Cap 3, addressing the issue of whether Tony Stark was going to be the film's villain. "I wouldn’t put it that way. Ultimately it’s Steve’s story; it doesn’t say ‘Iron Man 4: Civil War’. Great to see the buzz picking up in advance of the release. Have to wonder how the story is going to change with Spider-Man coming back, but the hosts have addressed this topic in past casts.  Originally from an Empire interview, covered via Latino Review http://www.latino-review.com/news/rdj-says-civil-war-will-definitely-be-caps-movie and via SuperHeroHype http://www.superherohype.com/news/330271-robert-downey-jr-teases-tony-starks-position-in-captain-america-civil-war?utm_source=feedly&utm_reader=feedly&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=robert-downey-jr-teases-tony-starks-position-in-captain-america-civil-war   [MCU Netflix] Daredevil News - Titles for first three episodes and directors released. "Into The Ring" "Cut Man" and "Rabbit In A Snowstorm"? Directors, Phil Abraham (Mad Men and The Sopranos), & Adam Kane (24: Live Another Day and Hannibal). Supports talk of a darker, grittier tone. via CBM http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=115428 Topics to chat about is whether this will “clash” with consistent tone created in the MCU/TV or broaden its appeal? Are the hosts excited based on Mad Men, Hanibal, Sopranos etc.   [MCU] Samuel L Jackson News - Great interview with Samuel L. Jackson on how he’s not ready to put down the eyepatch yet.      Fans of Warner Brothers Animation will recognize Celeste Green as the co-creator of "Gotham High." Based on the DC Comics character, Batman, "Gotham High" was an animated series created by Celeste Green and Jeffrey Thomas. The series was ready to receive the green light from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation until a sudden changeover in studio management shelved all animated projects at that time. Since then, the concept artwork from the project has gone viral, appearing in online film publications such as Gawker, io9.com, ComingSoon.net, and SuperHeroHype.com.      Celeste is also the former president of the Lyric Music theater and serves as the executive director and co-founder of Cast Aside Productions in Portland, Maine. What's more important for artists? Achieving fame and recognition through the admiration of fans? Or finding authenticity, sincerity, and honesty? Can you have both? Are they mutually exclusive? How do artists find that balance? In this episode, we explore these questions and more, including her experience working with Warner Brothers, our mutual experience as students at Emerson College (which also happens to include a Batman project!), and her own sense of theological exploration through web comics and graphic novels. --- Featuring Patrick Girts as the Joker
