This week Paula's been getting deeper in mafia business and repeatedly dying while trying to survive the apocalypse. Meanwhile Josh has been finishing off a co-op adventure and taking the time to tidy things up before falling further into the Rusty Lake universe. What really matters though, are the comfort games we hold dear to our heart, so we have a bit of a chat about some perhaps unexpected titles that always make us feel good. We're joined today by another amazing and prolific guest; composer, Jeff van Dyck. Instead of focusing on a specific game we take a tour through Jeff's entire career from Skitchin' all the way to recent games like Unpacking. Jeff began his career in 1992 with EA (Electronic Arts), working on games like the FIFA, NHL series, and Need for Speed 1 & 2. He continued on to do the music for many of the major games in the Total War series, starting with the original, Shogun: Total War, and continuing with the Medieval and Rome Total War games. In recent years, Jeff has written music for a number of indie games like Assault Android Cactus, Hand of Fate 1 & 2, Submerged, Forts, Paint the Town Red and Unpacking In this interview we talk about a great many things; working in a constantly shifting industry, evolving as a composer, writing music for AAA games as well as indies, a bit of light hardware discussion, and just life in general over the last three decades. 2022 marks 30 years for Jeff in the games industry, a landmark achievement for anyone, and he's still going strong. We crammed in as much music as we possibly could, and we hope you enjoy listening to some lovely selections of music that Jeff has written over the course of his career. Welcome to our final podcast of the year! This week we have special guest, Sanatana Mishra who has worked on, among other things, the excellent Assault Android Cactus and a range of remakes, including the Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse remake from a few years ago that was so, so good. We talk with Sanatana about remakes, remasters, and what works and doesn't. We also talk about the new toy on the block - the PlayStation 5 - and all the fun we've been having with that, and then we talk about history games, and how Assassin's Creed is right back on top thanks to Valhalla. Finally, we talk about all the good games coming out in December... there are more of them than you think. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we hope you enjoy the cast! Say hi and share your thoughts, and we'll be back right at the end of the year for the January episode!

Witch Beam lässt auf PS4- -und Windows-PC-Besitzer einen zuckersüssen Twin-Stick-Shooter los. Zumindest, was die Heldinnen betrifft. (raf)

Happy Friday our lovely Brew Bros and Brewelettes! So, when you're playing a game called Assault Android Cactus from Witchbeam, you'd expect to be drinking a Cactus-type beer. Unfortunately, we live in Upstate NY where everything has been pumpkinized and there's no cactus beers in sight. We decided we'd try the next best thing and pair this amazing game with a spacey-type beer in the Space Man India Pale Ale from Brewfist. It's a unique pairing to say the least and we can't wait to hear your thoughts on it after listening to the episode below! Pick up the game by visiting their STEAM page, and find the brew at your local import spot! Check our Facebook page for updates, along with our Twitter and Instagram. We also have an UnTappd account where you can see what we're drinking; and you can catch us on iTunes for your listening pleasure. Any ideas you have for a game to play and a drink to go along with it? Email us: brewelist@gmail.com. Stay Thirsty and Play Indie! ~Casey and Jackie
