Tammy Taylor had a love for decorating with red, white, and blue before realizing the intense fervor she felt for America. Not until after Tammy married, did her love for this great country truly manifest itself. Tammy is the mother of eight children. Her first four children were a year apart. Tammy raised her boys with stories of American heroes and patriots. She wanted them to serve America in some capacity, never comprehending that six of her seven sons would one day join the military. September 11, 2001 was the catalyst for her sons. Five of Tammy's boys joined the army guard and one joined the regular army. Tammy loves her eight children with only the love a mother can understand. And so it was heart wrenching to lose not one, but two of her beloved sons. Tammy's youngest son, Troy, took his own life at the tender age of fifteen. Several of Tammy's children deal with depression, and Troy was no exception. On that dreadful day, it was Tammy who found her son in his bedroom. Her pain was further compounded when years later, Brent was killed while serving in Afghanistan. Tammy had a sense of foreboding about this deployment, but pushed those feelings aside..until two uniformed men entered the church where she and her husband were working on a service project. Tammy collapsed to her knees, the gravity of the situation too much to bear. Through Tammy's pain and loss, she never lost her love of family or America. She has a profound gratitude for those who have given so much to keep our country free. Tammy is part of a family no one wants to be a part of, yet is intensely grateful for the support; the gold star family. Tammy urges all Americans to know the real history of America. Understand the sacrifice and service of those heroes who came before us. Be grateful to call America home.

In this episode… If you fly frequently, you probably have the pre-takeoff safety check memorized. They always say that in case of an emergency, put the oxygen mask on your child before yourself, right? Wrong. Safety attendants always instruct flyers to put a mask on themselves before helping others — after all, it's impractical to secure others if your own safety is at risk. The same goes for data privacy and security. As an organization, you're dedicated to helping as many people as possible. But how can you do that if your data practices aren't secure? You would never think of getting on a rollercoaster without putting on a seatbelt, so why would you think of collecting data without putting effective cybersecurity practices in place first? In this episode of She Said Privacy/He Said Security, Jodi and Justin Daniels sit down with Tammy Taylor, the President of Advantum Health, to discuss the future of cybersecurity in the healthcare industry. Tammy talks about her tips for preventing security breaches, how HIPAA is falling behind with advancing technology, and why she highly recommends multi-factor authentication.

On Friday November 6th, the Washington State Attorney Generals office attempted to dismiss my counterclaims of racial discrimination and other factual claims during their “take over” of Veterans Independent Enterprises of Washington (VIEW). While some claims were dismissed. Racial discrimination and the claims that accompanied the violation were allowed to continue. I have waited a year for this moment. I have waited a year for someone to see the evidence and confirm that a violation occurred. To have a Superior Court judge recognize the discrimination I endured from Tammy Taylor and subsequently the State of Washington is more than satisfactory. Washington States Attorney General Bob Ferguson and other representatives of Washington State Department of Commerce participated and supported racism and the racist acts of Tammy Lynn Taylor. While I was lucky that my life was not taken. I still felt the pressure of my reputation and my livelyhood being killed. I’m stronger now but have first hand experience of what it feels like to be lynched. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/myvoice2/message

Welcome to the Nancy Ray Book Club where every once in a while I'll review a book I've just read with many of you. A book that I believe is worth reading and I'll share my top three takeaways from that book. Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on The Coaching Habit, and a few ideas and practices that have really stuck with me since reading it. Okay, have you ever seen the show Friday Night Lights? It's a show all about high school football in Texas and what a big deal it is. If you've never seen it, I definitely recommend you watching it because it's one of mine and Will's favorite shows. There are a million reasons that I love Friday Night Lights, but I think one of the things I love most about it is it shows you how you can have an impact on a person's life. Coach Taylor and Tammy Taylor, they consistently have this massive impact on these young men and women. They're honest, they're humble, but they're also bold and they speak life and encouragement to these kids when a lot of times these kids are at their absolute worst. Okay, so what does this have to do with the book, The Coaching Habit? Well, for one, I've never been a coach. I don't even know what it's like to have an athletic coach because I've never played any team sports. I was not very athletic growing up at all, but it kind of just boils down to my love for Coach Taylor and Tammy Taylor because they coach and guide and lead and speak life into anybody who crosses their path, whether it's a friend high school or on the football team, their daughter or each other. This show showed me you don't have to be an actual professional coach to be a in someone's life, if you know what I mean. So The Coaching Habit, the book, simply teaches you to ask better questions in order to be a better coach. The subtitle of the book is Say Less, Ask More & Change the Way You Lead Forever. I think today there's so many people willing and ready to give advice around every corner, but when I think back to my own life, the most significant times that someone has helped me make a difficult decision is times when they've asked me really good questions and I came to the conclusion on my own. Research even shows that when you come to an answer on your own without being told what to do, dopamine is released in your brain and it's much more rewarding and more likely for you to stick with the decision than if someone just handed you the answer. So, that’s what we’re going to be talking about today in this episode about the book “The Coaching Habit!” For the full transcript, click here! In 2012, Tammy's world was turned upside down when she detached from her emotionally abusive mother. Within two years, her self-talk, relationships, and coaching practice transformed through a soul guided process she calls “Loving Detachment”. This is how Tammy defines MDT- Mama Drama Trauma. Mama Drama Trauma is a condition by which the mother inflicts unhealed aspects of herself onto her children causing physical and/or emotional trauma.
