Send us a textWell, this is the last episode of Season 4, and once again, it's been a ball of fun (and music). 4 years and still going strong – bigger and better than ever! We look back at “Knockin' on Heaven's Door” and "Rock News", as well as some of our favourite episodes. We recall some of the albums we've listened to (before we die), some of the shows we've seen, some of the books we've bought and some of Mick's fluffs! We also talk about what we might do next year – more interviews, more covers, maybe a list or two. So much to look forward to! Angela is back at camp, this time under the alias of a young teenage girl she chased down and killed. Camp New Horizons, the new camp built atop the old one, is welcoming several new campers this year, however, one camper starts killing off all the naughty campers one by one. Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland isn't a great movie, but it's a fun installment with great kills and charm. The series is a favorite of ours and although, this is our least favorite Sleepaway Camp movie to this point, we did enjoy some of the crazy kills and characters. We're kicking off our Vicious Vacations III theme for the month of August and reuniting with Angela Baker for Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland from 1989. It's time to pack up the bug spray, sleeping bags, and non-lubricated condoms and head back home. We are closing #SummerCampExtravaganza with Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland (1989) and The Burning (1981). We are celebrating 30 years of KZMU! On this installment of our '30th Ever Radio Revue,' we tour Teenage Wasteland with station volunteer Bruce Boyd aka DJ Hesher. His show is situated in a special moment in KZMU and in Moab's history – the early oughts. The high desert signal of Moab Community Radio was the nexus of “social” and “media” long before Facebook. Before the internet, even. Think cassettes, and scrappy desert necessity. Think punk, and a thirst, no – a need – to rock. As it turns out, actual teens in the isolated rural ‘wasteland' responded, and the rest, as DJ Hesher reports, is history. // Show Notes: // This “Oral History of a Hesher” with DJ Hesher aka Bruce Boyd, is accompanied in this piece by vintage audio cassettes of his iconic show, the Teenage Wasteland. Featured in those clips are fellow KZMU volunteers, DJ Destroy , (Kelsey Howarth) and DeWayne Jackson of ‘The Rock Garden.' // Theme music for this show is by Noise Cake with I Love It. Music Bed is Etherica provided by Justin Marshal Elias with a piece called From the Sky. Heavy backbeats mixed by the group All Good Folks and two of their songs What the Punk, and Elephant. Produced and edited by Christy Williams Dunton. // If you have a story to share about your KZMU experience, or some vintage content to contribute to the station's historic archive, we'd love to hear from you here at the station.

“Seems like every time I go to camp. Somebody loses their head…” Angela is back for the third and final time in SLEEPAWAY CAMP III: TEENAGE WASTELAND, my favorite installment in the trilogy. What begins as “an experiment in sharing,” to see how the underprivileged can relate to the spoiled brats of the world quickly becomes a bloodbath, as Angela, masquerading as a camper, slashes her way from group to group. I must say, Pamela Springsteen really kills it here (pun intended) as our favorite murderous transsexual. Her performance is truly what made this my favorite of the series. Tony the Tiger a.k.a. The Thunder from Down Under is back to wrap up the trilogy , so let's head on back to camp! ***disclaimer*** The subject of the Ron Jeremy sexual assault allegations arises partway through the commentary.
