After a glorious 4th of July break, the VGWAM crew is back! This week Ian convinced everyone to check out Warframe again, was somewhat disappointed with Fear the Wolves, and attempted to make Toukiden 2 sound like something that was worth playing. Jermaine grinded out some loot in Diablo 3 and Vermintide, then got lost in VR with the creepy puzzle game called Statik. Benson destroyed cars, lawnmowers, and buses in Wreckfest and shared some interesting tidbits on where VR headsets are heading in the future. All this and more can be heard on this week’s episode. Final Fantasy Explorers released this past week, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to have an episode dedicated to the first of many Square Enix Japan releases this year!   Lauren and Darryl are joined by Jared, with the three offering rather different opinions based on their previous experience within the monster hunting sub-genre. We've got Monster Hunter veterans covered, fans of games like Toukiden and Soul Sacrifice, and we also have the opinion of someone who hasn't ventured too much into this type of game before.   We also take the opportunity to run-through some fan questions. Unser zweiter Mitten-in-der-Woche-Podcast ist endlich da. Immer noch ohne Thorsten, dafür mit Frischfleisch und einem dicken Gewinnspiel! Eigentlich ne lustige Sache: Thorsten ist schon wieder nicht da. Und wie vor zwei Wochen hat er die beste Begründung der Welt: Außentermin. Schade. Aber auch so kam eine muntere Runde zusammen, bestehend aus Uwe, Vik, Sascha und unserem Neuzugang Christian, der laut eigener Aussage hünenhaft, muskelbepackt und mit wehendem, blonden Haar ausgestattet ist. Wie ihr seht, erzählt er also genauso viel Quatsch wie der Rest der drei lustigen Vier. Thematisch bieten wir euch natürlich wieder den üblichen Mix aus Fragen (und teilweise sogar Antworten), Schwachfug und Telespielen. In letzterer Hinsicht nehmen wir uns diesmal die beiden Vita-Titel Danganronpa und Toukiden vor. Beide gut! Ansonsten lassen wir natürlich Christian zu Wort kommen, damit er sich vernünftig vorstellen kann, und schweifen regelmäßig wieder in Gefilde ab, die wir heute, einen Tag nach der Aufnahme, eh nicht mehr nachvollziehen können. Today Tecmo Koei showed off their newest Vita title in the form of a beautifully gritty samurai action game titled Toukiden. Crafted by the team behind the Dynasty Warriors games, Toukiden puts players in control of a Slayer, a warrior whose sole duty is to vanquish the demons that plague the land inspired by Feudal Japan.  The story begins to unfold in the Utakata village headquarters. Here players can take on quests to combat the evil Oni forces before they devour all of humanity. Players can undertake their bloody mission solo, or team up with up to three friends via ad hoc to take on Toukiden’s towering monstrosities.
