The winds and fog came in the morning, but the afternoon wave found themselves with a favorable draw on Thursday of the 2026 U.S. Open. Andy and Brendan record after a "golf nirvana"-type day at Shinnecock Hills, commenting on the setup discourse that is already dominating this installment of the national championship. They empty the notebook and look at both the real leaderboard AND Andy's "Actual Leaderboard" with most of the first round completed. Wyndham Clark is four ahead, perhaps signaling that Lanny Wadkins was on to something with his renovation of TPC Craig Ranch. Andy and Brendan also share their experience with some Thursday evening traffic in Southampton after a post-round coffee run. Do fans really understand how bad it could get? Meanwhile, the reupholstered TPC Craig Ranch got a rude reception from the field, which ran up record numbers in Wyndham Clark's 30-under win, the second year in a row the winner has dived so deep. Can the Nelson make the elevated schedule in 2028 with these kinds of numbers? Or will its sponsorship money be a bigger factor? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

We start today with Nick talking us through the new Long Island course(s) which he played late last week, a course redesign that Mark describes as a 'new concept in golf', whereby it is basically 3 courses. Nick played one of them and outlines what it was like, he cannot wait to go back. The team at OCM have done a great job.And onto a huge talking point of the week. The tournament at TPC Craig Ranch in Texas, where the course underwent a $25m redesign to make it tougher for the pros, was it? Well perhaps not. Nick and Mark look at the scores....wowee. Mark describes course designers adding in multiple pin placements a 'con' and explains why.Nick has got his hands on a survey that the PGA Tour has sent to Tour Pros, and there are some fascinating questions that they have asked. He talks through some of the most intriguing ones. Mark shares a revealing stat on his club head speed and carry today vs when he was on tour.....interesting! And we compare a couple of Titleist drivers, a newer one vs an older one. Nick also has a stat, one to do with Tiger and his driving distance.Mark says 'Rory McIlroy broke my heart'. Was this a romantic situation? Is it love scorned? No, it's far worse, Mark explains on the pod. Nick, being supportive, after hearing the story says that Rory is wrong. We discuss bifurcation for a bit. It really is the only solution. And what about Bryson? A YouTube star or a Pro Golfer? What will he do? He has said he is uncertain. Mark is 100% clear on what he'd like Bryson to do, Nick more circumspect. And for Hostplus, our 'plus' for golf this week is the Long Island redevelopment! After the turn.....following Nick's Top 5 nicest pro golfers last week, today Mark lists the top 5 'arsehole' acts he has seen Tour Pros do. Does he name names? Well, one. But Nick also has a story about an arsehole act that happened to him from a Tour Pro, he refuses to give the name, despite Mark and Dan trying to trap him - but from the clues, see if you can guess? The PING globals, plenty to talk through, including the great win by Scott Hend at the weekend! Fantastic to see.For Southern Golf Club, plenty of feedback, including on Nick and Mark's analysis of Cam Smith's swing last week, and we have a listen to his coach Claude Harmon speaking on his 'Son of a Butch' podcast about working with Cam.Feedback on cheating, including an incident at The Grange in Adelaide, AO Comments, and we get our discussion on where Lions live from last week clarified. And for the Golf Clearance Outlet, a cracking masterclass from Nick O'Hern inspired by watching Si Woo Kim at the weekend doing something unusual with his putting. We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:Hostplus, Talk Birdie To Me's official retirement partnerBMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; The Find My Player app - follow every player on every tour; And Southern Golf Club. Brendan and The Boys return for a Monday recording recapping perhaps the biggest content week of the year! Now armed with a weekend of data following Friday's bonus Happy Hour episode, the three further unpack the absolute domination of Lanny Wadkins' $25 million renovation of TPC Craig Ranch by this week's field at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Wyndham Clark shot a final-round 60 en route to his first win in over two years, edging out Si Woo Kim and Scottie Scheffler atop the leaderboard. Joseph comes armed with stats showing that this might've been the easiest PGA Tour event ever and PJ is basking in the glow of a week that provided some of the most insane quotes possible regarding a host venue's ability to test the best players in the world. Brendan ponders whether Wyndham is back on track for a spot at this year's Presidents Cup as he seems to be in a better place after a "year of adversity" as was so often referenced on the broadcast. Blades Brown felt right at home during this week's birdie-fest, claiming that his time on the Korn Ferry Tour prepared him for tournaments like this. He secured his Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour with his top-15 finish, leading to a perplexing situation where he'll have to sacrifice much-needed KFT points in order to continue playing PGA Tour events. Brendan and Joseph argue that this should not be the case and wonder if this pathway will be adjusted moving forward. The three whip through the rest of this weekend's results, with PJ providing some exclusive on-the-ground nuggets from the Champions Tour stop in Morocco. They foray into a brief bit of news reporting from Eamon Lynch regarding the "Tier One" and "Tier Two" events on the 2028 PGA Tour schedule and whether the top-tier of players will be allowed to "move down" for a week and play "Tier Two" events. To close things out, Brendan, Joseph, and PJ follow up just a little bit on Friday's breaking news that Don Rea was dismissed from his post as President of the PGA of America. Don has stayed silent to this point, and so has the PGA despite promising a formal announcement on Friday afternoon. How long will this silence last? Andy's time across the pond is winding down but he still calls in to join Brendan for a celebration of life for TPC Craig Ranch. For all its faults, the course was able to find the best player in the field this week as Scottie Scheffler tied the PGA Tour scoring record at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Andy and Brendan discuss Scottie's historic win and dig into some scoring numbers for the par fives at TPC Craig Ranch this week. Will things still be the same following Lanny's renovation? We'll have to wait a year to find out! From there, the two recap Bryson DeChambeau finally closing out a Sunday lead with his win at LIV Korea. PJ shares some late-night broadcast thoughts and comments on the state of Richard Bland's game heading into the senior majors. Jon Rahm finished in the top 10 again, but Andy isn't sure this streak means as much as LIV thinks it does. In news, Rory drops some hints about next year's Champions Dinner at the Masters to an old friend, and Andy provides three stories from his time with Fried Egg Golf Club in Scotland.

Andy is still being popped by the pub life in Scotland but recovered enough to join Brendan for a Wednesday morning recording to celebrate the PGA Tour's yearly stop at TPC Craig Ranch. This episode begins with a much-needed Blockie Minute ahead of the fourth and final round of the PGA Professional Championship. Mr. Block, the first round leader, has slipped down the leaderboard and needs a strong finish to qualify for Quail Hollow. Andy is still blacked out from Blockie content overseas and is wondering why the legend of Blockie is not growing internationally. The CJ Cup Byron Nelson begins on Thursday with a field full of Dallas residents and former champions of the event. Brendan sees this event as part of the Tour's venue problem, playing at an uninspiring course that should be soft after some rain this week. In Craig Ranch news, Lanny Wadkins is set to lead the renovation ahead of next year's tournament and is out and about doing press to discuss the project. After a week off for the Zurich, one-and-done picks return as this gambling podcast looks to get back on the right foot. Elsewhere on the schedule, the Champs Tour is also in Texas for the Insperity Invitational, and the LPGA will follow up its first major with a trip to Utah for the Black Desert Championship. Next, PJ shows off his new big letter hat from a trip to TPC River Highlands and Andy proposes a business idea for him to look into ahead of the Ryder Cup this fall. In news, Blades Brown is sticking with a KFT event as opposed to a sponsor exemption this week, LIV TV ratings continue to be low, and 2026 Presidents Cup captains were announced.

Will Doctor brings you the sharpest golf picks and information for this weeks Zurich Classic and Chevron Championship. Will Doctor's Golf Preview Podcast, recorded from the Nicholas Course at Carlton Woods, dives deep into betting picks and performance analysis for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Chevron Championship, and briefly, the Veritex Bank Championship. Opening with a recap of the RBC Heritage, Doctor praises Justin Thomas for winning his 16th PGA Tour title after a playoff with Andrew Novak. Thomas posted a 61 in round one and closed with a bogey-free 68. Novak, described as the American Jon Rahm, impressed with elite short game and iron play, though he missed key putts, notably a 10-footer on the 13th. Doctor criticizes himself for failing to include Novak in his bets, noting Novak's three final group appearances and five top-15 finishes in 2025. The podcast reflects on several betting losses, including missing JT's surge and Novak's rise. The card was down 6.7 units, adding to an overall deficit of 81.2 units for the season. Scottie Scheffler's T8 finish was dissected, focusing on a critical double bogey on 15 caused by a tricky lie in the waste area. Despite superb ball-striking, putting lapses limited his contention. Daniel Berger's T3 finish came with elite ball-striking but poor putting early in the week. Other near-miss bets included JT Poston (T11), Sungjae Im losing the top Asian bet to Siwoo Kim, and Ryan Gerard's bogey on 18, which destroyed a top 20 ticket. Garrick Higgo's win at Corrales Punta Cana, his second PGA Tour victory, was a notable miss for Will, who lamented overlooking Higgo despite strong form in previous starts. For the Zurich Classic, two outright bets are offered. Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin at 28/1 are highlighted for elite ball-striking and top-tier putting. Griffin's form shows recent putting struggles, but his strong Bermuda putting history is encouraging. Billy Horschel and Tom Hoge, also at 28/1, are touted for their pairing of elite putting and solid recent results. Horschel's Zurich history includes two wins and a second-place finish, while Hoge has four straight T18 finishes with resurgent driving accuracy. A top 20 bet on Nico Echavarria and Max Greyserman at +130 is based on their elite Bermuda putting and last year's T4 result. Their recent ball-striking is a concern, but their putting could carry them into the top 20 if they strike it average. Doctor explores other pairings but passes on Carl Yuan and Michael Thorbjornsen due to inconsistency and on Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo due to Velo's below-average stats. At the Chevron Championship, hosted again at the Nicholas Course, the course demands power and precision, favoring long hitters due to tight driving lanes and potentially soft greens. Nelly Korda is picked to win at 9/1. She won here in 2024 and continues to be elite across all metrics, especially improving putting. Ingrid Lindblad is the value pick, taken at 70/1 to win and 4/1 to finish top 10. She recently won in just her third LPGA start and ranks high in driving, approach, and putting stats, although her short game remains untested at this venue. Finally, Doctor previews his visit to the Veritex Bank Championship, with plans to gather insights on-site and update picks via social media. He teases future episodes from the Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch and the Truest Championship at Philadelphia Cricket Club.
