Today’s guest is Rob Musick, the Chaplain of the University of Pikeville. Get to know Rob ⤵Rob was my Chaplain when I attended UPike years ago. I accepted a football scholarship, moved seven hours from home, and found myself in a season of uncertainty. I was dealing with dramatic changes in my life, miles away from a loving and supportive community, and far removed from my wife to be. I never knew I would experience such loneliness and doubt in my life. But, I had Rob. Rob was so patient and encouraging in that season and I knew he genuinely cared about my life and my future. Rob was an incredible example of what it means to be humble, meek, patient, and a mighty encourager. He was a man that lived in grace and walked in love. I wanted to sit down with Rob and ask him about engaging people with opposing ideas and how to do that with humility. I pray that throughout this podcast, there is a stirring within your heart to pray for Rob and his ministry at the University of Pikeville.“I believe that the role of Spiritual Life is to be gracious and hospitable to all beliefs, help shape spiritual formation, provide pastoral care, companionship with others in finding their life’s work, and create a network of community and global servants who seek to live out the social justice heart of Jesus.” – Rob Musick, UPIKE ChaplainWant to learn more about the Falling Forward Podcast? I took a trip to the my alma mater, University of Pikeville, to speak with a mass media class about podcasting. While I was there, I had the class tell me what it's like to be a college student in Central Appalachia - which turned into a sort of live show. We had a blast talking about what it means to be Appalachian (and it was even more fun to know I wasn't being graded this time around.) Thank you to the students and to COM Queen Chandra Massner! More excitement is coming soon, so don't forget to rate/review! Stalk the show on all platforms @Appalachuhhhhh and send emails/questions/concerns to Appalachuhhhhh@Gmail.com.*Closing Song: Goin' Back to Pikeville, Nicholas Jamerson (Also a UPike alumnus.)*
