The Secretary's Secret Lair is back with an appropriate 13th episode. This month we explore Evil Kids centered around biological, nurture and environmental theories. The movies that best give us an example of these are The Bad Seed (1956), Alice Sweet Alice (1974) and Who Can Kill a Child aka Island of the Damn (1976).  Are these children at fault for their behavior or just merely innocent by standards paying the price of adults?    Link in bio and highlight under SSL Podcast or can be found under most platforms under @webelongdead and don't forget to give my bosses a listen while you are there, because without them, I would be here.

That means a bit of snowbound horror, insufferable family drama, and plenty of killer kids to go around. Jason is forced to reckon with the realization that his Christmas-related pick actually has more to do with New Year's. Michael comes to terms with hating every character in a story. What could possibly go wrong? 1976 shocker Who Can Kill a Child? is a cult horror classic which centres around a vacation that’s more blood soaked than sun soaked. Director Narciso Ibanez Serrador, creator of 80s quiz show 3-2-1 (yes, really), presents a terrifying vision of what can happen when you choose to go off the beaten path. Middle class travellers Tom and Evelyn find themselves coming face to face with a bunch of wild eyed children whose idea of play, is something decidedly more deadly than hide and seek or tiggy. I am not one to be accused of short changing listeners or setting easy goals either which makes this years Top 10 series very special indeed!! Over the next 11 episodes in the series we will count down each year in the decade known as the 70's with the mission statement of creating the definitive Top 10 list of movies in the decade, but with a little TPUTS twist if you will.  Noah's Ark rules will mean that each year will be represented in the creation of the list and will force myself and my guest to short list each year in the decade from 10 movies to 2!! That's right...only 2 movies from each year can go through which means that this list can/might & will be unlike any Top 10 list of 70's horror movies created on a podcast!! On this show my guest Andy Blockley and myself will look at 10 movies from 1976 with mini reviews of Alice, Sweet Alice, Burnt Offerings, The Town that Dreaded Sundown, The Omen, Carrie, Dr Black & Mr Hyde, The Tenant, To the Devil a Daughter, Who Can Kill a Child, The House With Laughing Windows Intro – 0 - 4mins 55secs Top 10 1976 - 5mins 40secs - 2hrs 21mins 25secs  Intermission - When I'm Dead - Hexvessel - 2hrs 22mins 45secs - 2hrs 48mins 45secs Decision Time - 2hrs 27mins 20secs - 2hrs 48mins 45sec Closing Out the Show- 2hrs 48mins 45sec - End Closing Song - Buffalo Gals - Every Time I Die The 2 movies picked as going forward to the final roundtable representing the year 1976 are Carrie & The Omen. Join me next week with special guest Doug Tilley to look at 1977 and the following movies: Suspiria Hausu Orca Eraserhead The Hills Have Eyes The Sentinel Shock Waves Shock The Psychic Rabid Our new A3 Baz v Horror Posters are available to purchase!!
