This evening in Part 2 (Psalm 96:7-13) of this sermon on Psalm 96, we find a command for the world, a command for the Church and the reasons for the commands. Pastor Ken Anema gave a similar outline for the first part of this Psalm in the morning sermon.
This video focuses on Psalm 96, emphasizing the call to worship and the importance of sharing one's salvation story with others. It encourages believers to reflect on their personal experiences of God's grace and to communicate these experiences to their neighbors and families. The theme revolves around the command to "sing to the Lord a new song" and the significance of declaring God's glory among the nations and peoples.A central question posed in the sermon is: How can we effectively share our salvation stories to inspire others to join in worship?

Sandy Stamato, Founder of Limb Dweller Transitional Coaching for women 50 and beyond, is passionate about her work. As a Limb Dweller, she's found out that she is not alone. As a result, she has coached fellow Limb Dwellers from all over the world. Whether or not these fellow limb dwellers are dealing with shame, anxiety, or identity issues regarding their next steps or are women who have been doing work that isn't aligned with who they are today, it's a vulnerable and tender time as they look into the near future. Sandy says, “At a certain point, there are no do-overs. This is precious time, so why waste it?” Highlights Sandy shares how she, at 28, found out she is a Limb Dweller and what that means. People have so many social pressures on them now that it's hard to have a sense of belonging fitting in. It's important to realize it's okay to be who you are and that when you're young, you have no idea who you're going to become. It's important to support people at the age where they are and not expect them to know exactly where they're going, and to let them explore possibilities. Understanding that who you are and where you are gives you breathing space to become who you want to be. Sandy talks about how she helps people see that wherever they are is fine by using the concept of an internal Board of Directors. Fear, shame, and anxiety often are the loudest of our internal voices. We talk about the value of tough times and how to make them work for you. Find your people so you can understand that you aren't alone. There is no competition. The pain comes when we compare ourselves to people who are doing similar things. Jesus loved the Father and had nothing to prove and yet it was still important to Him that people knew it. This should be true of us as well. We should live in such a way that people can see our love for the Lord.
Special guest: Jessica Alexander. Denmark has been voted as having the happiest people in the world by the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) almost every year since 1973. That's more than 40 years of happiness! It begs the question—is it the parenting? I mean, is there a Danish Way of parenting? It turns out, there is, and while the Danish Way of parenting is not the only reason Danes are the happiest, it does play a very important role—and the success of it all seems to be tied to the ways they educate children far beyond academics—focusing on play, empathy and social skills. It's important to delve into it, I hope you would agree, since happy kids tend to grow up to be happy adults who raise happy kids—and the seasons go ‘round and round again. And while in the United States and in other areas of the world, we are seeing an increase of anti-depressants, suicides among young people and mental health diagnoses, as well as a great deal of competition between parents and we have a lot to learn from the Danes. Best-selling Author, Journalist, Danish Parenting Expert & Cultural Researcher, Jessica Alexander's book "The Danish Way of Parenting: What the Happiest People in the World Know about Raising Confident Capable Kids" has been published in over 25 countries. Her work has been featured in TIME, The Wall Street Journal, Salon, Huffington Post, NPR, NY Times, and many more. She regularly does talks and workshops for parents, schools and organizations like Google, The Women's Network of the United Nations, The World Parenting Forum and many more.
