FEED-DROP ALERT!!!! From Leon Neyfakh and Prologue Projects — the award-winning team behind Think Twice: Michael Jackson, Slow Burn, Fiasco, Backfired, and of course, 5-4 — comes a new Audible Original, Final Thoughts: Jerry Springer. You may think you know Jerry Springer—the iconic TV host who presided over America's most controversial daytime talk show for 27 years. In that time, Springer's name became synonymous with outrageous guests, taboo confessions, and vicious on-stage fights. But before The Jerry Springer Show made him infamous all over the world, Springer was something else entirely: a respected Midwestern politician whom many saw as a future leader in the Democratic Party. So how did this serious-minded idealist with lofty political aspirations take such a turn in such a radically different direction?Final Thoughts: Jerry Springer tells the fascinating story of a Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany who became the beloved mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio before morphing into a symbol of cultural decline. Through dozens of intimate and revealing interviews with those who knew Springer best—from his big sister to his early political aides to the producers who shaped his show—listeners will be transported into the world of this singular figure's rise to notoriety, and his fascinating struggle to reconcile his status as “the king of trash TV” with his lifelong dream of returning to politics.Final Thoughts examines timeless questions about ambition, compromise, and whether we can ever truly separate who we are from what we do for a living. Was JerrySpringer a principled would-be statesman who took a detour into the gutter, or did his show reveal something essential about his character – not to mention oursListen now on Audible at audible.com/Springer. “More and more Iranian-supported, anti-American, Islamic terrorist cells are established on U.S. soil with the aim of eliminating key American personnel, and eliminating key American institutions and installations. This has been the ayatollah's vision from day one,” says former Ambassador Yoram Ettinger. In the 1980s and 1990s, Ettinger held a number of high-profile positions within Israel's government, from minister of congressional affairs in D.C. to director of its press office. A now retired insider and expert on U.S.–Israel relations, he regularly advises Israel and America's legislators, and produces a weekly newsletter challenging conventional wisdom on Middle East affairs.“The State Department probably still is under the delusion that the U.S. has a choice between Arab countries that abide by human rights and Arab countries that do not abide by human rights,” says Ettinger. “The choice is between pro-American Arab regimes that violate human rights or anti-American Arab regimes that violate human rights.”In this episode, we dive into key realities of the U.S.–Israel relationship that are poorly understood, and the global threat posed by the Iranian regime.“The early pilgrims and the Founding Fathers, to a large extent, viewed themselves as the modern-day chosen people. They viewed this country as the modern-day Promised Land, and they considered the manner in which Moses governed the Jewish people to be the foundation for the system which they established: the separation of powers, and later on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,” says Ettinger.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

Hello and welcome to Constellation! Usually, Dagan is the one who writes these descriptions, but he forgot this week! So, you have me (Dustin), and I'm not even on this episode! He's been getting a bit cheeky with them recently, so it's probably best I'm here to clean things up anyway. For this episode, Matty wants to talk about wrestling, and Dagan asks about plans we've had that have backfired on us. You may be asking, where's the third topic? This episode ended up being quite a doozy just between those two topics, so the last topic needed to be cut due to timing. So, join Dagan, Colin, Matty, and Gene for another episode. And hey, Dagster, don't forget to write the description next week! [EP 25-125] I almost feel guilty pointing out how transparent the Left's desperation has become. But here we are again: Democrats, the most anti-American faction in modern politics, are orchestrating another circus to overshadow the Trump administration's successes. Their latest stunt? A manufactured "war plan leak" scandal, breathlessly reported by The Atlantic, designed to paint Trump's team as reckless while ignoring the undeniable results—terrorists dead, Americans safer. This isn't about accountability. It's about sabotage. And it's proof that the Left's only strategy is chaos.Section 1: The "Bombshell" That Was a Dud Let's dissect the so-called scandal:National Security Adviser Mike Waltz allegedly accidentally added The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat with top officials discussing Houthi strikes.Goldberg, ever the drama queen, framed it as "shocking recklessness."The chat contained zero classified information. The strike succeeded. Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi was eliminated.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.

Beginning in the first Trump presidency and expanded under Joe Biden, the US has taken a strategy of technologically containing China through restricting its access to cutting edge semiconductors. As Chinese Whispers has looked at before, these chips form the backbone of rapid advances in AI, telecoms, smartphones, weaponry and more. Washington's aim was clear: to widen the technological gap between the two powers But has this strategy worked? Lately this has become a hot topic of debate as Chinese tech companies such as Huawei and DeepSeek have nevertheless made technical strides. Some even argue that the export controls have spurred on Chinese innovation and self-reliance. In this episode of Chinese Whispers, two very informed and smart guests debate this issue. Ryan Fedasiuk is U.S. Director of The Future Society, an independent nonprofit organization focused on AI governance, and former Advisor for U.S.-China Bilateral Affairs at the US State Department. Steve Hsu is Professor of Theoretical Physics at Michigan State University and a start-up founder. He also hosts the podcast, Manifold. Produced by Cindy Yu and Joe Bedell-Brill.

Well, well, well. They all cried “racism”; they all wanted the “NFL plantation” exposed. Oh, how the turn tables. A year and a half ago, all of sports media thought Eric Bieniemy was the next Mike Tomlin and the NFL was racist for not giving him a head coaching job. In this special episode of “Fearless,” Whitlock recounts all the times those talking heads virtue-signaled for justice. These people don't know how to be honest. How can you trust a single word that comes out of their mouths? With most of sports media's reputation on the line, Steve Kim joins the show to weigh in on the debacle that is truth in the world of sports. Thursday Night Football lived every bit up to expectations, from Lions coach Dan Campbell going for another risky fourth down to Packers coach Matt LaFleur getting into it with a fan. Whitlock also addresses the report that the Kamala Harris campaign wanted Adrian Wojnarowski to announce Tim Walz's vice president selection. Later, T.J. Moe debates whether or not Bill Belichick will be coaching in the NFL next season. Wrapped up by Shemeka's take on the Daniel Penny case and Jordan Neely's father suing for the death of his son. A year ago, Donald Trump was facing four separate criminal indictments, and had become the first President to be charged with and convicted of a felony. Now that Trump is President-elect, and with the Supreme Court having granted sitting Presidents broad immunity, the Justice Department's efforts to hold Trump accountable appear to be over. Even so, Trump's legal saga has radically changed American law and politics, the New Yorker staff writer Jeannie Suk Gersen argues. “These prosecutions forced the Supreme Court to at least answer the question [of Presidential immunity],” Gersen says. “It will affect the kind of people who run for President, and it will affect how they think of their jobs.”This week's reading: “Pete Hegseth's Secret History,” by Jane Mayer “Stopping The Press,” by David Remnick “The Fundamental Problem with R.F.K., Jr.,'s Nomination to H.H.S.,” by Dhruv Khullar “Did the Opioid Epidemic Fuel Donald Trump's Return to the White House?,” by Benjamin Wallace-Wells “Biden's Pardon of Hunter Further Undermines His Legacy,” by Isaac Chotiner. “A Coup, Almost, in South Korea,” by E. When researchers found that providing stimulants to hyperactive children improved their behavior in school, educators, pediatricians, and drug manufacturers helped build interest in identifying and treating a new condition: Attention Deficit Disorder. Some saw it as a breakthrough in treating learning disabilities. But the implications of medicating children drew a backlash from advocates. Plus, doctors could not agree on concrete tools for identifying ADHD, prompting suspicions of over-diagnosis. And Big Pharma's attempts to expand the market has resulted in unintended consequences.“Backfired: Attention Deficit” is the latest season of the podcast from Prologue Projects and Audible Originals. The truth doesn't seem so obvious, but new data shows the unintended consequences of banning Airbnbs and short-term rentals, especially in big cities. To get a take from someone inside the industry and with plenty of data to share, we invited Taylor Marr, Senior Housing Economist at Airbnb, to the show to explain how Airbnbs affect the economy, affordability, and housing supply. For years, there have been claims that short-term rentals take away housing supply from renters and homebuyers and, as a result, inflate rents and home prices in nearby areas. But new data is saying something very, very different. Today, Taylor talks about how Airbnbs and short-term rentals change a local economy, the amount of money this type of local hospitality provides to small businesses, and why affordability ISN'T improving in areas where Airbnbs are banned. We'll also discuss the age of “experiences” and how hosts can earn more by catering to a new kind of traveler willing to spend. Do you have a short-term rental or want to make money with one in the future? Then don't miss this episode! In This Episode We Cover: A short-term rental market update and how Airbnbs are faring in 2024 Airbnb supply and whether or not the short-term rental market is oversaturated Tips for hosts to take advantage of “experiences” and make more money from their vacation rentals The $80B impact Airbnb has on local economies and the real result of banning them How Airbnb is working with local governments to IMPROVE affordability and tourist spending And So Much More!
