Welcome to the “Battle of the Budget” series! Meet your hosts Nicole and Jaclyn as they share their contrasting beginnings when it comes to budgeting, investing and building wealth. This is their journey through the Battle of the Budget as they learn how to build wealth and master finances as individuals and as a couple. You can not build wealth, if you can not handle and master your day to day expenses. Yet, at the same time the Battle of the Budget is more than arguing with someone about how money should be spent, it’s the battle we all have with ourselves. The battle of our circumstances because no one wants to feel FOMO, no one wants to be left out, no one wants to be the only one in a friend circle who doesn’t have the “thing” everyone else has. It can be a battle with your significant other, however it is a battle with yourself to figure out finances because when you figure out your finances, doors open up. Doors to go back to school, finally save for retirement, care for your parents, give your kids a better life, and countless other things. The Battle of the Budget is more than a budget, it’s knowing where your point A so you can be debt free - because it is possible - it is possible you can start that new business opportunity, or take that trip, get that car or buy that house, or have an emergency fund and not be broke… when you overcome your battle of your budget doors will open, and everyone is living their own battle of the budget.Thank you for joining us on today’s episode. Feel free to share with anyone who may need some advice when it comes to money squabbles, budgeting advice and some general relationship money talk! The FIRE movement is a lifestyle movement with the goal of gaining financial independence and retiring early. The objective is to accumulate assets until the resulting passive income provides enough money for living expenses throughout one's retirement years. Many proponents of the FIRE movement suggest the 4% rule as a rough withdrawal guideline, thus setting a goal of at least 25 times one's estimated annual living expenses. Upon reaching financial independence, paid work becomes optional, allowing for retirement from traditional work decades earlier than the standard retirement age.
