Stealth is a biweekly podcast that captures the stories of transmasculine elders who transitioned before or around the year 2000. Transitioning, for the purposes of our podcast, includes all forms of social and medical transitioning. We value the background and experiences of our transmasculine community, and want to provide a space for those of us who are often overlooked. The term “stealth” highlights the fact that for our generation we were often told to hide our past and live an underground existence. Throughout our lives, each of us has had to navigate issues of disclosure which have impacted us in many ways. The Stealth: A Transmasculine Podcast is an incredible resource for individuals navigating their own gender journeys, especially those who identify as transmasculine, lesbian, and people of color. As someone who has faced skepticism and ignorance from family members when coming out, I can relate to the offensive comment made by a family member that sparked the desire to learn more about our history. This podcast provides a platform for trans elders to share their stories, insights, and wisdom, bringing much-needed representation and validation to listeners like myself.

One of the best aspects of The Stealth: A Transmasculine Podcast is its ability to offer a sense of community and support. Many of us may find ourselves lacking representation or connection in our daily lives due to various factors such as pandemic isolation or societal constraints. Hearing directly from trans elders who have gone through similar experiences helps us feel less alone in the world. The stories shared on this podcast are heartfelt and sweet, providing a valuable perspective on our history as well as showcasing the enduring courage of those who came before us. Furthermore, the hosts Jackal and Kai do an exceptional job of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests to share their journeys and successes.

While it is challenging to find any true negatives about this podcast, one aspect that could be improved upon is the frequency of new episodes. As someone who finds solace and inspiration in these conversations, I often find myself eagerly awaiting the release of new episodes. It would be wonderful if there were more regular updates to quench our thirst for knowledge and connection.

In conclusion, The Stealth: A Transmasculine Podcast is an invaluable resource for anyone navigating their gender journey, particularly individuals who identify as transmasculine, lesbian, and people of color. It provides insight into our collective history while offering a sense of community and support that many may be lacking in their daily lives. The heartfelt stories shared on this podcast serve as a reminder of the enduring courage and resilience of our trans elders. I am immensely grateful for this podcast and its ability to create a space where we can feel less alone and more hopeful about our own futures.
