    I started getting obsessed with desserts and sweets at a very young age and was typing my own cookbook with only dessert recipe on my parents' 386 computer back in the 90s.... lol From there, feeling rejected by friends because of my appearance led me on this journey of trying to lose weight to fix myself and hopefully get the friendship and love I was craving...  ... and the restrictions then led to emotional eating, stress eating, and binge eating and me feeling like completely addicted to sugar. Chocolate was always my go-to and now I realize that it was the Spirit of Mama Cacao calling me all along... if you feel this pull towards chocolate, it may be the same for you, too! It was my birthday just a few days ago and at the same time of realizing how far I've come, I've also realized that my inner child is always so close and will always be for the rest of my life. I've been connecting with my inner child for the last 5+ years and have learned so much about myself in the process. This work has also been a big part of my eating disorder recovery and in establishing new nourishing habits in my life as well as developing healthier relationships with those around me.     Let me tell you a story... ... a birth story... ... actually, a free birth story!  This is the birth story of my daughter at the end of 2021. After a beautiful wild pregnancy and a journey that taught me to trust my body, my baby, and my Self in a whole new way, I gave birth to her by the fireplace in the basement of our home surrounded only by my family (partner & 2 kids). This story is both so mundane and so sacred at the same time. This is just birth. This is the birth my daughter wanted and this is the type of birth any woman can experience if they so choose.
