We're about halfway through the year 2026. Are you still following any of the resolutions you made last January? Many people make resolutions concerning consistency. They wish they could be more consistent in their relationships, in their work, in life in general. For the Christian, a consistent faith makes for a closer walk with The Lord. That should be our goal, no matter what time of year it is! To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
We're going to see King David's faithfulness to God's plans and purposes. There's a very important term that we're going to come across, and normally it is translated, The Lord's anointed. Now the Lord's anointed in the most simplest expression has to do with the king, and we know that at this time, even though, in one sense, he's illegitimate, and I'm talking about King Saul, we also know that David is someone who is always faithful. Is he perfect? https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

In this sermon, Pastor Steven examines Saul's final failure as king in 1 Samuel 15 and the obedience that God desires from His people. Though Saul achieves military victory, his partial obedience reveals a deeper problem: a heart more concerned with appearances, personal judgment, and the approval of others than with trusting and obeying God's word. As Samuel declares that “to obey is better than sacrifice,” we see why Saul's kingdom is taken from him and why Israel needs a different kind of king. Ultimately, this passage points beyond Saul and David to Jesus Christ, the perfectly obedient King whose righteousness is counted to all who belong to Him.
Pastor Jeff Johnson is currently leading us through the Old Testament book of First Samuel, and today we enter chapter twenty three. I'm sure you've heard this statement many times: “Without faith it is impossible to please God”. We all acknowledge the truth of that statement, but how often do we face adversity and forget to call on our faith in God to get us through? Living by faith is what it's all about! That's exactly the course God called David to. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111

As you may recall, David knows he's going to be the next King of Israel, and he's running for his life. But all the way through this trial, God is reminding David that He's going to keep His promises and that He's with him and for him. Today we will take a look at the suffering David experienced in his life, and Pastor Jeff Johnson will relate this to what we are bound to experience as well. 20 Proverbs 7-8; 1 Samuel 31; 2 Samuel 1-6; 19 Psalms 85-89; 42 Luke 6-8
We are continuing our study of First Samuel today on Sound Doctrine, and we'll be looking at the life of David. Here was a man who was in God's training program to be the King that God intended for the nation of Israel. David was a man after God's own heart - but there was a time when he had a heart of deception. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
20 Proverbs 5-6; 1 Samuel 25-30; 19 Psalms 79-84; 42 Luke 2-5
We're going to bring you the second half of pastor Jeff's message in First Samuel twenty-one, and it's a pretty amazing scene we see here. David is fleeing from his father, Saul, and he ends up in Gath, before King Achish. David was a pretty smart guy, and in order to buy some time as he fled Saul, what does he do? He acts like a deranged nut! Of course, there's a method to his madness, and here to tell us about it is pastor Jeff. 20 Proverbs 2-4; 1 Samuel 19-24; 19 Psalms 77-78; 41 Mark 15-16; 42 Luke 1
In this reflection on 1 Samuel 25, Kristian Heal explores Abigail's courageous peacemaking between David and Nabal and invites readers to consider how Christ can transform foolishness, resentment, and offense into wisdom, reconciliation, and peace.
We're going chapter by chapter through First Samuel and we'll meet up with Pastor Jeff Johnson in chapter twenty-one in just a moment. Here's the scenario we are observing today - David is on the run, fleeing from Saul. It's interesting to note that the first place David went was the house of God. Hopefully that's an encouragement to us to turn to the Lord first and foremost when we're in a difficult spot To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/621/29?v=20251111
Because of David's faithfulness to God's plan for his life. What is David experiencing? He is experiencing persecution, and hear this carefully, persecution from the government. And this is something that we need to be prepared for, as well as believers, because whenever we walk in obedience, whenever we are committed to faithfulness, according to the truth of Scripture, we will suffer. Remember what Messiah said. https://get.theapp.co/yjjqTo donate please visit us at:https://loveisrael.org/donate/Checks may be sent to:LoveIsrael.org

In this sermon, Pastor Steven contrasts the fear-driven leadership of Saul with the courageous faith of Jonathan during Israel's conflict with the Philistines. As Saul struggles to trust God when circumstances turn against him, Jonathan moves forward in confidence, believing that “nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few.” Through their stories, we see the difference between relying on human plans and resting in God's promises. Ultimately, this message points us to Jesus Christ, the true King who went before His people, secured their salvation, and now calls us to live by faith in His power and faithfulness.
Saul, the Avoidant Anointed - 1 Samuel 101. God gives us a calling. (Vs. 1-8)2. God confirms our calling. (Vs. 9-13)3. We avoid and hide from our calling. (Vs. 14-27)
