Sade schaffte es, auch nach längeren Pausen die Spannung zu halten: wie wird ihre neue Musik klingen? Die prägende 80er Jahre – Instrumentierung änderte sich behutsam, Sade sang noch genauso leidenschaftlich und warm von Liebe und Verlust, von Beobachtungen und schweren Schicksalen. Jedem der selten veröffentlichten Alben folgte eine umjubelte Welttournee, dennoch suchten sich ihre Mitmusiker schon Nebenprojekte, um nicht immer nur zu warten. Nach langer Pause erschien 2010 das Album „Soldier Of Love“, wieder hochgelobt und von ihren Fans gefeiert. Erst 2024 sollte noch ein einzelnes Lied „Young Lion“ erscheinen. Sade wahrt stets ihr Geheimnis und ihre künstlerische Integrität, auch deshalb bleibt ihre Musik ein Ereignis. Die Stimme, der Sound, der Look: die Popmusik war ab Mitte der 80er Jahre um eine Farbe reicher – Sade. Die britische Sängerin Sade Adu bezauberte die Welt mit ihrer Mischung aus Pop und Soul, gemischt mit Anklängen an südamerikanische Musik und Jazz. „Smooth Operator“ wurde zu einem Welthit, auch ihr erstes Album „Diamond Life“ wurde zum ersten Höhepunkt ihrer Karriere. Sades Ausstrahlung trug zu ihrem internationalen Erfolg maßgeblich bei, das ehemalige Model, deren Vater aus Nigeria stammte, wusste sich zu inszenieren. 1985 zeigte sie beim „Live Aid“- Konzert einem Weltpublikum, dass sie mit den internationalen Superstars mithalten konnte. Auch die folgenden Alben überzeugten, das feste Team ihrer Band entwickelte den Sound stetig weiter. Det var den 29-årige Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, sanger i det internationalt anerkendte rockorkester Iceage, som svingede forbi Rockhistorier med en mildt sagt eklektisk playliste, som han gav en dybt personlig vinkel på. Stilistisk spændte udvalget fra Janet Jackson til Sun Ra, og den røde tråd var sange, knyttede sig til bestemte oplevelser eller personer, hvad der var lidt af et trip at følge. Elias Bender Rønnenfelt er kendt som sanger i rockbandet Iceage, der er pladeaktuelle med lp'en Seek Shelter, som blev modtaget med jubel af fans og presse. Det er femte udspil fra kvintetten, som udover Rønnenfelt består af Johan Suurballe Wieth, Dan Kjær Nielsen, Jakob Tvilling Pless og Casper Morilla. Dannet i 2008 debuterede Iceage i 2011 med det brutale New Brigade, som bandet høstede megen anerkendelse for. På de efterfølgende lp'er blev udtrykket mindre antagonistisk og mere sofistikeret uden at miste sin kant, og bandet har gennem flittig koncertaktivitet opbygget en international fanbase.
