Did Jesus truly rise from the dead? And what does His resurrection mean for us today? In week 3 of Exploring Jesus, Dr. David Nystrom explores these vital questions. He examines the historical evidence for Jesus' crucifixion, the implausibility of theories like resuscitation or the "wrong tomb," and the unique nature of the disciples' unwavering conviction. Why did they believe in a resurrected Messiah when no such expectation existed? How does the resurrection challenge standard historical methods? Listen as Dr. Nystrom discusses these points, reads the Gospel accounts, and shares why this event is not just a matter of ancient history, but one that speaks profoundly to our lives and deepest questions today. Amira Nystrom is literally a miracle. At 21yo, she went into brain surgery being told by her doctor that nobody had ever survived that particular procedure. Her chances of making it through the surgery and NOT becoming a vegetable were less than 1%. Of course, she made it. She then seemingly cured her chronic Crohn's Disease by simply deciding she didn't want it anymore and living her life in that manner. Then, without qualifications, experience or training, she started an Epic Adventure business and a hypnotherapy practice which are both thriving more than a decade later. On second thought, she's either a miracle or from another planet. Regardless, check out the latest episode of Middle Age Mess or find Amira at www.epicmauihikes.com.

We have officially entered 'silly season' of NFL Draft week where rumors are rampant and everything must be taken with a grain of salt. Fear not, Matt Harmon and Fantasy Pro's Thor Nystrom are here to cut through the smoke. Concluding our 'teams that will shape the Draft' series, the two look at the QB needy teams outside the top ten - Minnesota, Denver, Las Vegas - as well as teams inside the top ten that could be wild cards - New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and New York Jets.To start the show, Harmon and Nystrom dive into the Minnesota Vikings and what possibilities exist for them to jump in the draft to take JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye. The duo looks at how the top QBs could fit in Kevin O'Connell's offense and Justin Jefferson. The two then try to make sense of the Denver Broncos after they acquired Zach Wilson from the New York Jets in a trade. Given that Denver might have the worst QB room in the league, the duo try to figure out which rookie QB is the most realistic option and best fit for Sean Payton's scheme. The two discuss Bo Nix's potential in Denver and if they can trade down and still acquire the Oregon QB later in the draft.Harmon and Nystrom have a similar conversation about the Las Vegas Raiders QB room and if they could be a dark horse team to trade up for QB. After the break the two try to predict what the New York Giants, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans do with their top ten picks.1:20 - Programming note: Yahoo Sports is going BIG for Draft Week coverage 3:40 - Minnesota Vikings: Do they have the ammunition to land JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye?22:25 - Denver Broncos: What are they doing? Who are they? Are they really that bad?35:50 - Las Vegas Raiders: Are they a dark horse to trade up for a QB? 39:15 - New York Giants: Do they take a top WR or swing for a QB? 46:30 - New York Jets: Rome Odunze, Brock Bowers or OL?50:27 - Tennessee Titans: What's the best move to help Will Levis in this new look offense?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this informative episode of the "Schmidt List," host Kurt Schmidt has an enriching conversation with David Fritzinger, the CIO and experienced technology leader at Nystrom. David lends his insights into the crucial aspects of transitioning into a leadership role, emphasizing the necessity of understanding and cultivating relationships with team members to foster a thriving working environment.David sheds light on the delicate balance leaders require to produce immediate results while appreciating the organization's history and pinpointing opportunities for meaningful contributions. He highlights the power of vulnerability in leadership, advocating for personal connections as the foundation of professional success. These sentiments are echoed by Kurt, who underscores the importance of recognizing individual career aspirations and reconciling diverse viewpoints within a team.Drawing on wisdom gained from his military background, David speaks to the essence of leadership — guiding teams comprising diverse levels of experience and expertise. He candidly discusses the duality leaders face in managing the triumphs and challenges inherent in their role, the latter being critical in unlocking a team's potential. The conversation seamlessly pivots to the concept of trust, which both Kurt and David agree is a key component of effective leadership. Fritzinger advises that building trust requires consistent, personal interactions and the integrity of following through on promises. He stresses the distinction between liking someone and being able to work productively with them, pointing out that mutual respect and shared objectives are paramount for constructive collaboration. On entrepreneurship, they address the nuance between strategy and planning within an organization. Here, David offers a pragmatic view of valuing incremental steps over grand gestures, illustrating the blend of strategic thinking and tactical action required in business. He expounds on crafting strategy through a forward-thinking lens followed by backward planning.Kurt and David then delve into leaders' intrinsic challenges when joining a new team. They highlight the urgency for leaders to absorb the company's existing dynamics while embracing humility to acknowledge gaps in their understanding. Their discussion underscores the significance of addressing immediate, more minor issues to gain trust and contemplating strategic shifts for long-term impact.Leaders must address dissent swiftly, decode the underlying causes, and openly communicate with their team, involving them in early decision-making stages. They share an anecdote of a CFO's preference to be part of the process rather than receiving a completed initiative, reinforcing the "bring people along for the ride" philosophy.David encourages listeners to connect via LinkedIn for further engagement on his work. The episode concludes with both Kurt and David expressing satisfaction with their dialogue, suggesting the potential for future discussions. The episode, rich with leadership wisdom, solidifies the theme that the art of leadership lies in fostering a sense of belonging, trust, and collaboration among team members, thereby paving the way for an empowered and inclusive organizational culture. Subsequently, the "Schmidt List" audience gains practical guidelines for navigating the complex landscape of modern leadership. There is too much Schmidt to List!Check out https://www.kurtschmidt.me for more show info.
