In a shocking turn, Thomas and Cory have recorded Episode 2. The boys get together for this one and discuss the happenings around the sports world, including the NHL making a move, Budesliga and the disaster it was (especially for Thomas), the Match and of course...Grill It or Chill it before finish up with Cory's Pony Picks. In the salty air and humidity of LA (Lower Alabama), they bring their hottest takes and opinions on sports as the pandemic continues.
Round 2 of the Budesliga's return kicked off at the weekend, we delve into the action. Elliot has some things to say about the goings on at Hull City. We also talk about the SPFL finishing, La Liga returning and we play a game of guessing the footballer based on their club history via Wikipedia. Lots of laughs and fun in this episode as we reminisce about Sam's steward days and Elliot offering out Crystal Palace. Enjoy! Twitter - @TOGoalPodcast
In the final episode of the playoff predictions series, Tuan and Nav crown a new hypothetical champion for the 2019-2020 season. With the Budesliga, UFC, and NASCAR all back, they're both feeling more optimistic on a possible return of the current NBA season and give their thoughts on the possible fan experience with COVID-19 still looming large.
With there actually being football to talk about, Toto and David talk about football. As well as this, they answer a probing clueless question (Why are footballers so dramatic?), and David speaks about how freeing a bike ride can be, as well as sounding like a pompous a**hole by slagging off Troy Deeney. 0:00 - Intro // 1:39 - Cute 'lil catch up // 6:11 - Question from clueless // 11:30 - Budesliga update and thoughts // 18:50 - Premier league update, new player styles… // 24:17 - outro

Another footy free week like every other footy free week. We migrate to various areas of our houses to complain again about the absence of soccer in the world. Well, to be fair there's some Budesliga and something about Sex Dolls in South Korea? Brendan is up on all the erotic news around the globe, so lets leave that stuff to him. Big question of the week is: If soccer came back in some kind of mini-remote-meaningless competition of third string player 2000 miles away and we can't even watch it on tv---would you care? Hang in there everyone. Maybe this will all end someday. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/current-podcast/message

New York Post- South Korean soccer team fills stadium with sex dolls A South Korean soccer team has reportedly apologized for filling the stands of their fan-less stadium with sex dolls for a weekend game. FC Seoul used the dolls in place of human spectators at their Sunday match against Gwangju FC, The Sun reported. Other teams have used cardboard cut-outs because people are banned due to coronavirus. Deadline.com- Bundesliga Return Draws Record Numbers For Sky In Germany The return of the Budesliga drew record ratings for Sky in Germany with more than six million viewers tuning in on Saturday to watch top flight European soccer for the first time since March. Six games kicked off on Saturday behind closed doors due to the pandemic with a further two matches played yesterday, though we’re still waiting for ratings news on Sunday’s games. According to specialist website DWDL.de, Sky Germany had 3.68M viewers watching the matches on its local subscription TV channels while an additional 2.45M viewers watched the ‘Konferenz’ – a simultaneous live broadcast of the five afternoon games – on Sky’s free to view news channel. Forbes.com- Return Of The Bundesliga Scores Record TV Ratings In Germany And Beyond Increasing audiences This decision was vindicated by a five-fold increase in viewership with the game between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke reaching 1.4 million people across television and digital platforms, with a peak audience of 652.000. The average number of views for the matches on BT Sport’s three linear channels was 597,000. Digital viewership was on a par with some Premier League PINC matches. Newsday.com- The Latest: Bundesliga players to be reminded about protocol Bundesliga soccer players will be reminded not to celebrate goals together after Hertha Berlin's team shared hugs and high fives over the weekend. Most teams have stuck to restrained arm bumps when they score but Hertha's more exuberant celebrations in the 3-0 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday prompted criticism they were undermining the league's social distancing guidelines.

Two main topics today: (1) Yeah, we know the last couple of matchdays in Spain can feature gifts, shall we say, to encourage an unmotivated team (the suitcases full of ham, brandy and cigars) but it's different when money is involved and the goal is to un-motivate players. However, the leaked transcripts in Operation Oikos raise more questions than answers. (2) The Budesliga began again this weekend behind closed doors. Does it make sense from a public health standpoint to restart the league? How will fans react to matches being played without them? And for that matter, how will Allen and Sid react?
