Happy 50th Birthday my old friend. This episode is dedicated to you. It took me half a year to pull it off, so you’d think it would be pretty good. I’m not sure that’s where we landed, but I had a blast making it. You’re a special guy, and the world needs to here more of you. For what it’s worth, this is my effort on that score. On this episode, as I take in the breathtaking colours of fall, I do some parental musing, more endless meta-natter about Chub Creek, a lot more obsessing about bears than about Ebola or Isis, and at one point I fall completely on my ass. Bug infested walkage at Forks of the Credit Provincial park. Actually it wasn’t that bad, I just made the mistake of reading all about the worst kinds of stinging bugs right before leaving. (Read about the Tarantula Hawk and other horrible stinging bugs here). A bit of yabber about public speaking, some more yammer about how my dog’s tongue reminds me of my first girlfriend... and more. In the slightly short but terrifying episode we feature still more adventures with deadly and dangerous Canadian wild creatures. If you can BEAR it, come along as we pass under massive soaring black crows, cower under the deafening wail of the Canadian Goose, spelunk in caves that may or not contain hibernating bears and dangerous falling overhead rocks, discover the cold loving “Ice Pawns” and narrowly escape the rabbit devouring, squeaking mink. Musical selection today was a beautiful performance of approximately two out of the “Four Short Pieces for Solo Double Bass” by DaXun Zhang.

A great little trek (okay not little - our legs were killing us after) at Mono Cliffs trail in the snow with my folks, and some fun soundseeing at a local diner where we spoiled our supper together. You couldn’t really hear it, but just to give them credit, the music at the very beginning was “Know Til Now” by Jim James, and “Climbing Walls” by Strange Talk.
