In this episode of Healing 101, I'm joined by the brilliant Dr. Chuks to explore the powerful connection between anxiety, stress, and disordered eating. We unpack how stress hormones like cortisol impact hunger, why early life experiences shape our eating patterns, and how guilt and shame can trap us in unhealthy cycles. Dr. Chuks shares practical advice for building a more compassionate, mindful relationship with food—and with ourselves.Stay Connected with Hurt to Healing:Instagram: instagram.com/hurttohealingpodTikTok: tiktok.com/@hurttohealingpodLinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hurt-to-healingSubstack: substack.com/@hurttohealingWebsite: hurttohealing.co.uk Hosted on Acast. In today's episode, I sit down with Dr. Chuks to explore the deeply layered world of eating disorders - how they often begin, what fuels them, and why they can be so difficult to detect and treat. We talk about the connection between stress and disordered eating around major life events, the dangerous expectations placed on our bodies before weddings and holidays, and how social media and comparison can quietly chip away at our sense of self. I share some of my own experiences navigating anorexia, the crossover between restriction and bingeing, and the importance of recognising emotional triggers.Whether you're personally affected, supporting someone who is, or just curious to understand this often misunderstood illness a bit better—this conversation holds space for honesty, reflection, and healing.Find Dr Chuks:Book: https://amzn.eu/d/b1zIkj6Stay Connected with Hurt to Healing:Instagram: instagram.com/hurttohealingpodTikTok: tiktok.com/@hurttohealingpodLinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hurt-to-healingSubstack: substack.com/@hurttohealingWebsite: hurttohealing.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Today we're talking about the global nature of God's invitation. Our guest — Fr. Chuks, the new director of communications for the Jesuit Curia in Rome, responsible for sharing the stories of the entirety of the global Society of Jesus — reminds us that the people of God are everywhere. And we, informed by the Ignatian tradition, have a responsibility to go and hear their stories—and to share them with others. Fr. Chuks — whose full name is Chukwuyenum Afiawari — is a Nigerian Jesuit. Most recently, he was the provincial of the North West Africa province, which includes Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia—no small task! Now living at the Jesuit headquarters in Rome, Chuks is tasked with thinking about how we communicate with one another. How we communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ with on another. How Ignatian spirituality and the legacy of Ignatius of Loyola equips us to go out into the world and witness Christ's love to one another. This, too, is no small task. Today's conversation covers a lot of ground, hitting on the nature of global communications, our responsibility as members of the universal Catholic Church, how we might train today's communicators to respond to the signs of the times and more.

A read & react to Mike Tomlin speaking to the media today at the Steelers first OTA session. Former Steeler Chuks Okorafor implied that the coaching he got here wasn't up to snuff. With what we saw Kevin Dotson accomplish in LA last season, does he have a point? We still have no update from Mullsy after his round at Oakmont. And a moment from Joe and Paul today that sent listeners to the bathroom.

"Bleav in Steelers" host Mark Bergin reacts to the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing quarterback Mitch Trubisky, offensive tackle Chuks Okorafor and punter Pressley Harvin III. Bergin explains the Steelers' options for the quarterback position in 2024. It includes trying to re-sign Mason Rudolph. The Steelers could also try to sign Kirk Cousins, Ryan Tannehill or Russell Wilson. They could also try to trade for Justin Fields. Hour 1: National media, where have you been! Dan Orlovsky and a few others are joining us in holding the Steelers accountable for their consistent issues. George Pickens is not giving good effort and Ray Fittipaldo said players won't say it, but hate lack of effort from teammates! This can't be how the organization is run. Pickens thinks HE'S the man with the Steelers and the best wide receiver on the team. Chuks was benched for saying something, but Pickens has the talent and is getting away with it. The Steelers continue to promote guys internally and have become like the Marvin Lewis Bengals. Calls on Steelers leadership. A caller states how the Steelers have convinced themselves their way is the best way and outside noise isn't right. They think they know better. You can't just put your arm around George Pickens in Crowley's mind. A player like Ben Roethlisberger would be able to do that offense because he's a Hall of Famer who's seen it all. The Steelers don't have that. If Pickett does this, Pickens probably doesn't think Kenny has the stature to be a leader while skipping passes to him. A look around the NFL. The Ravens are underdogs on the road in San Francisco and are complaining about it. Can they win on Christmas? Matchups that matter.

Ray joins us to talk about the Chuks reports, how Tomlin handled Pickens, why Heyward missed practice yesterday, what to expect from the Packers and more.
We finally have some details on what Chuks might have done and said to get himself benched and we react to it and wonder if it's much different than what George Pickens did. Also, Tyler Kennedy joins us for some hockey talk as well.
TK joins us for all things Penguins as they won in OT last night over the Kings. Then, we react to more Chuks reports about what he did to get himself benched last week.
We finally have some reported answers on what happened with Chuks Okorafor to get him benched after last week. We react...
According to DK Pittsburgh Sports, Chuks was benched because he thought the Steelers should have taken a knee with over a minute left against the Jags down by 10 points. Crowley and Dorin react to the news. Crowley thinks it's right for the benching and Dorin thought it would be a lot worse. Chuks was benched and wanted to be a part of the losing. Dorin said he quit.
Hour 4: Lee Sterling of Paramount Sports joined the show. Lee picked West Virginia to upset Oklahoma! He also picked a Bengals and Ravens win. He picked the Steelers 21-14. Pitt is the freeplay of the week. It means he's ok with losing, which isn't right. There's still time in the game. Crowley points to the gambling aspect about how the Steelers could cover the spread. He's not rooting against Chuks, but thinks he will be cut after the year. That's Right I Said It. Steelers game predictions.
Mark Madden is once again tired of Mike Tomlin dodging important questions such as what happened to get Chuks benched and why he won't commit to saying both Broderick Jones and JPJ have earned their starting roles based on their on-field performances.
Mark joins us for all things Steelers including where he sees the Pickens thing going from here, what Chuks did to get benched, if the Steelers will find themselves in the playoffs and more.
