This is a video about the peace that God gives us when we stay close to Him. I explain what "peace" means in the Bible. ✅ Important Links:
“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” - John 14:25-27 ESV
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” - Romans 15:1-7 ESV
ALC Recommends: “Bonhoeffer” (2024) “For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” - Colossians 1:19-20 ESV

Just as Israel was full of worry and anxiety under the oppression of Rome, we experience the oppression of worry and anxiety in our world today. It's no wonder that one of the greatest gifts God has given us is peace. Jesus is not just the Prince of Peace, nor does He keep peace to Himself as a possession. Rather, in His grace, Jesus has given us HIS PEACE by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can have His peace as a gift right now by just receiving it.
John 14:27
Salvation in Jesus reconciles us to God and therefore grants us peace in this life and in eternity to come.
Our world desires peace, yet it is characterized by war, anger, and disunity. From wars that span national borders, to contention within families, to turmoil within ourselves, there is anything but peace. Is peace actually possible? Yes, but there is only one pathway to is - and it isn't something we can attain on our own, but it is a gift that is given to us through Christ.
Do you find yourself juggling friends, relationships, your marriage, to try and make people happy and at peace? Today we're talking about the peace that Christ brings, not just as the absence of conflict but as wholeness and restoration. Watch Full Service
Scripture: John 14:25-27
Even during the happiest season of the year, we can experience fear and anxiety. God has a gift for us in the midst of this, though. Join me (Tosha Williams) as I share a personal journey of wrestling with sadness only to discover in a new way the power of God's peace. Even when circumstances don't change, His peace will change us. In this episode, let's "unwrap" His peace. Seek Him Speak Him!**********“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace” Psalm 29:11 NIVSEEK HIM: Devotion is Meeting with God in Our Own Lives! Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble,” and even in the best of times like Christmas, life can be challenging. However, God gives us a special gift, for in the same verse Jesus also said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have PEACE” (John 16:33 NIV). Jesus came to bring peace, so let's “Seek Him” about this gift.WHAT: What is God saying through this Scripture? God gives His people so many gifts, including, as our key verse says, the gift of peace. This peace is God's blessing for those who belong to Him. His peace is not just an occasional experience when life is good; it's His gift of completeness and wholeness throughout our lives. ~ According to our key verse, who receives God's gift of peace? Are you one of God's people? Where do you need God's peace today? WHY: Why does this Scripture matter? The world teaches us that peace is the absence of problems; God's Word teaches us that peace is His gift in spite of problems. Jesus promised: “PEACE I leave with you; my PEACE I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27 NIV). ~ What's the hardest thing you've gone through? What does Jesus say about this? Why can you trust Him in hard times?HOW: How does God want us to respond to this truth? Scripture says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the PEACE of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV). Instead of fixating on hard things, God wants us to talk to Him about these. ~ What must we give God in order to receive His peace? Is there something making you anxious or afraid right now? Let's pray!SPEAK HIM: Discipleship is Making God Known to Others! One of God's promises to those who “Seek Him” is: “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace” (Isaiah 54:13 NIV). As we learn to unwrap God's gift of peace, others can learn from our example. This Christmas and always, let's be sure to spend time being taught by the Lord. As He fills us with His peace, then our loved ones can learn to experience His peace, too! ______________________The Family Disciple Me ministry exists to catalyze devotion driven discipleship in our homes and around the world. As we finish John 14, we're going to look at yet another gift that Jesus gives us through His Spirit in us: the gift of peace. What is it about Jesus' peace that makes it different? Why is it such a wonderful gift?
Peace is more than the absence of conflict. Its bigger, its better, and its a gift from God to all who belong to Christ. In Gods Word, there are three specific ways Jesus gives us peace.
How do we find peace? This week well see how real peace cannot be separated from Gods presence. And that the courage to be obedient comes from Jesus promise to give us not just peace, but Himself. My Valiant Warrior,As the dawn ushers in a new day, with its fresh mercies and untouched moments, I invite you to pause and be still. In the quiet of this morning, let My words from Philippians 4:6-7 wash over you: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."These words are not merely a suggestion but a divine prescription for peace in the midst of life's inevitable turmoil. I know the battles you face and the worries that weigh heavily on your heart. I see the future you fret over and the past that haunts you. Yet, in the midst of this whirlwind of concerns, I offer you a peace that the world cannot give—a peace that is not contingent on circumstances but is a steadfast assurance rooted in My unchanging character.Starting your day with prayer and thanksgiving is not just a spiritual discipline; it is the key to unlocking the tranquility for which your soul yearns. When you bring your anxieties to Me, laying them at My feet, you are engaging in an act of trust, affirming your belief in My sovereignty and My goodness. As you do, remember to give thanks—not for the challenges themselves, but for My presence with you in the midst of them and for My power to work through every situation for your ultimate good.In exchange for your worries, I offer you My peace—a peace so profound and complete that it baffles human understanding. This peace will stand guard over your heart and mind like a sentinel, protecting you from the assaults of fear and anxiety. It will enable you to navigate the day's challenges with a calm and steady spirit, anchored in the certainty of My love and provision.Know this, My beloved warrior: My peace is not a one-time gift but a constant offering, available to you at every moment of the day. Whenever you feel your heart becoming troubled, turn to Me again in prayer. Present your requests anew, and let My peace, which transcends all understanding, flood your being once more.As you go about your day, remember that you are not alone. My Spirit is with you, guiding, comforting, and empowering you to face whatever lies ahead. Lean into My presence, draw from My strength, and let My peace fill every corner of your life.Walk in this peace, My child, and let it be a testimony to those around you—a witness to the power of a life surrendered to Me. In a world rife with unrest, let your serenity shine like a beacon, drawing others to the source of all true peace. With unending love and boundless peace,Your Heavenly FatherMyR2B and our Podcasts are free, aimed at educating and inspiring Christians worldwide. TODAY'S EPISODE: In today's episode, we are reminded of the gift of peace that Jesus offers to each of us. Despite the anxieties and troubles we may face, Jesus brings a unique peace that the world cannot give. As we reflect on this generous gift, let's embrace it with gratitude and allow the Holy Spirit to help us live in the light, joy, and love it brings. Let's receive all that God has for us, and extend this prayer for peace of mind and heart to ourselves, our families, and to all those around us. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. In part two of the Unwrapped series, Pastor Ryan Frith teaches us about the gift of peace and how we can experience peace in every area of our lives.
Do you especially need the gift of peace right now? Is your life so busy, you can't find time to take a breath? There is Good News for you: Jesus already knows. Luke 2:14 says, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!” When Jesus ascended to heaven, He told the apostles, “My peace I leave with you.” Because He lives, we know for sure that this peace is available to us anytime, anywhere. Even in the busy part of your life, when you think you're going crazy, you can call on Him and He will answer. This is our theme for this week: that peace is attainable. It comes from God, first and last. You might need to get away for even five minutes and close your eyes and pray. Let Him know you are beaten down and tired. Remember the verse we just read: peace is not just something for the glorious future Jesus is preparing for us. It's to us here and now. Claim that for your busy life today! Let's pray. Lord, when chaos seems to rule over us, you tell us otherwise. Thank you that we can simply ask and you will settle peace over us. In Jesus' name, amen.
