On est un peu benêts chez Amplitudes, du coup on s'est dit qu'on allait mettre en avant un sujet à la hauteur de nos quelques neurones survivant dans une matière grise en impesanteur : les titres de pistes qui n'ont aucun sens. Enfin, d'après nous, parce qu'évidemment, les artistes à leurs origines ont forcément des raisons plus ou moins obscures de nommer des morceaux de cette façon ; mais à notre niveau, on se contentera de les prononcer comme ils s'éternuent. Beaucoup d'IDM du coup, cependant le genre n'a pas le monopole du charabia, donc vraiment pas que ça au final. Bonne écoute. @stefangoldmann runs the @macrorec label and is closely associated with Berlin's @berghain club. Though nominally techno, his music is distinguished by an ever-imaginative take on the form. It's definitely club music but of a rather distinctive kind produced by a creator who's exceptionally imaginative, endlessly curious, and, one presumes, never happier than when bringing a project to fruition. Several of his tracks have served as genre-shifting blueprints – from his early reductionist works for the Classic and Perlon labels to Sleepy Hollow, Lunatic Fringe or The Maze. Yet he has ventured into a line of projects hacking away at the core features of techno, with systematic forays into, for example, irregular rhythms, microtonal tunings and the recontextualisation of industrial sound design. Apart from DJing in clubs around the globe, his projects have also brought him to locations as distinctive as the Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angeles's LACMA museum and Kyoto's Honen-in Temple. His mix for @recorder-13 sees him build a highly focused arc, originating from amorphous tones by Grischa Lichtenberger and Mika Vainio, projecting through intricate structural experiments by Donato Dozzy, Stanislav Tolkachev and Aleksi Perälä and culminating in high pressure tracks by the likes of Schacke, L'estasi Dell'oro and Peter van Hoesen. Our next mixtape instalment comes by Temp-Illusion the Iranian experimental/electronic duo consisting of Shahin Entezami and Behrang Najafi. Formed in 2011 and mainly operating as a live act, temp-illusion use a wide range of music programs and hardware synthesizers in their music production to combine noisy and atmospheric layers with melodies and complex beat programming to achieve a unique style of dance music. In recent years, an exciting Iranian electronic music-scene has quickly emerged and reached western ears, partly thanks to the work of Sote and Zabte Sote, a sister-label to Opal Tapes that focuses on putting out experimental electronic music by Iranian composers that he runs, as well as SET festival. Temp-Illusion release their first album Autoelected in 2019 in Zabte Sote as well as the more recent Pend, released earlier this year. While Autoelected was a perfect example of what recently has become known as ‘deconstructed dance music, Pend takes it from there to evolve into an assembly of carefully designed sonic microstructures that ultimately result in an artificial macro environment of hard electronic funk. Taking the listener from a meditative to a hyper demented state, inspired by the fear and stress instigated by media manipulation during and after the war. Shahin Entezami and Behrang Najafi, also have their solo projects as Tegh and Bescolour. The artists share that this mix is mostly made from the music they have recently listened to during these 2-3 months of quarantine: Since our rehearsals are also cancelled due to this pandemic, we have started to work separately on music projects, which is a new experience for us and it would probably change the way we sound! So this mix is the first output of working on a mutual project separately. The London based musician which was raised and born in Australia was actually trying to start a career as a journalist In 1993 she moved from Australia to the UK and worked in a recordstore and as a pianist. But somehow in 1993 a party has changed the course of her plan and she never moved back to her hometown Brisbane / Australis. In 1996 / 97 she started playing records in London and after a short period of time , also in several countries far outside the UK. In 2011 she finally quit her full-time job and put her focus on the music.She’s been inspired by artists like Marc Forshaw, John Heckle ,Heiroglyphic Being,Shackleton,Eduardo de la Calle, Fred P, Franklin de Costa and Grimes In the same year she launched her own radioshow called “Leah with sound” at Timeline Music for the past 5 years. Leah is a very open minded artist with a wide range of genre. She is a resident on the well known Freerotation festival at Hay-on-Wyein in the UK. And also a resident at the club 50 arc in London. In cooperation with DJ Alison Marks, she had already released under the name “Wallflower! on the Italian label Rebirth Records and has already been remixed by Larry Heard. In 2011 she finally quit her full-time job and put her focus on the music.She’s been inspired by artists like Marc Forshaw, John Heckle ,Heiroglyphic Being,Shackleton,Eduardo de la Calle, Fred P, Franklin de Costa and Grimes In the same year she launched her own radioshow called “Leah with sound” at Timeline Music for the past 5 years. Leah is a very open minded artist with a wide range of genre. She is a resident on the well known Freerotation festival at Hay-on-Wyein in the UK. And also a resident at the club 50 arc in London. In cooperation with DJ Alison Marks, she had already released under the name “Wallflower! on the Italian label Rebirth Records and has already been remixed by Larry Heard.
