Go For Steadiness In Chanting First, Not Taste | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 22 Aug 2025

Following the advice of Rūpa Goswāmī and Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad-gītā, we can understand that we have to be consistent in chanting to begin with. We must use our intelligence. Kṛṣṇa says, "Conquer the lower self by the intelligence." So, when we're clear that this is medicinal and we have to trust that the doctor is qualified, then we can practice chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa for consistency. And here are just a few points. One is being professional. Professionals show up no matter what, not when they feel like it; otherwise, that person will be fired. So, for your japa and practice of japa, go for steadiness, not taste. Be very, very patient over the years to show up for your japa based on your intelligence and practice a lot. Those who learn to play the mṛdaṅga, who mess around, who don't take a teacher, who don't practice the rudiments, end up playing a sloppy mridanga, or concocting. I mean, if they're playing devotionally, there's no harm in it, but they end up slapping it in weird ways that disturbs the kīrtana rather than help it move along. And if we don't practice carefully—and practice means correct practice—and that means practicing again and again, even if out of 16 rounds, we can only hear one mantra, at least you hear one mantra. That can change everything. But we have to be patient. We have to practice a lot and keep showing up again and again. And we have to have determination of Rukmiṇī Devī. As I mentioned yesterday, she told Kṛṣṇa (SB 10.52.44), "yasyāṅghri-paṅkaja-rajaḥ-snapanaṁ mahānto vāñchanty umā-patir ivātma-tamo-'pahatyai yarhy ambujākṣa na labheya bhavat-prasādaṁ jahyām asūn vrata-kṛśān śata-janmabhiḥ syāt" I'm prepared to do this for hundreds of lifetimes if that's required." That is sheer determination. That's sadhana bhakti. It's not, "I'm not getting enough juice. I don't feel the bhāva. Therefore, this must not work. I quit. I'll go scroll on the internet instead." Don't do that. Be very professional. Show up for your japa. Be determined. If you don't get anything, then be prepared to give up this body and start over again in the next life and do it again. That's what Rukmiṇī says. She said, "If I can't have you as my husband in this life, I'll perform such severe austerities that I'll give up my body. In my next life, I'll do it again until you consent that you're going to marry me." So we have to be like that in sādhana-bhakti. Sādhana-bhakti is not messing around. It's very serious. So the place to be really serious is with our japa. Come as a pro. Do your work, bring your lunch box, and stay for the long term. And if you do that over many, many lifetimes, then maybe hear one mantra and realize that Kṛṣṇa and his name are not different. If we have that, then we have a joyful life dedicated to chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------

This music is being imported from Vaikuṇṭha, many millions and many millions of miles away. So this is not just music of this mundane sound. Otherwise, why you are not tired, repeating it for many, many days? Any mundane sound, we repeat it, you cannot prolong it. You cannot prolong it. But we are..., we have learned this only Hare Kṛṣṇa, and you can chant this. And you also hear it. You're attracted. You can add this to your portfolio. "I was there. I chanted Hare Kṛṣṇa. I got up early, I dropped what I was doing, and I sat and chanted with the devotees, gave full attention to The Holy Name." This some people don't achieve after millions and millions of lifetimes, but all of you have this conviction: 'Vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti,' Vasudev is everything. You also have śraddhā, which means, "śraddhā-śabde-viśvāsa sudṛḍha niścaya, kṛṣṇe bhakti kaile sarva-karma kṛta haya" (CC Madhya 22.62). That if I chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and I give my full attention to the holy name, then everything else will be perfectly executed in my life. Nothing else is needed. "Vedeṣu yajñeṣu tapaḥsu caiva, dāneṣu yat puṇya-phalaṁ pradiṣṭam, atyeti tat sarvam idaṁ viditvā, yogī paraṁ sthānam upaiti cādyam" (BG 8.28). That is Kṛṣṇa, who assures us at the end of the eighth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, that if you just give yourself to Kṛṣṇa and the process of devotional service, you achieve the results of everything else you're trying to achieve in your life. This is why you're here. This is very deep. So this is no small accomplishment to be able to sit and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Most people can't do it. The mind is raging, there's problems to solve. "I feel depressed, I feel attracted to something else." But the fact that you show up means that you have evolved spiritually over many, many lifetimes to come to this position. So take advantage of it, that you know this, and that you know that all the Vedas are pointing to one thing—the holy name. And that is by taking part every day in chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. Finishing 16 rounds, you're following the instructions of the Ācārya, which means you're safe. So stay safe. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

I was reading in the Yoga Sutras about mystic powers, and one of the ways that one develops this power—to say something that then becomes manifest is by always telling the truth. One who becomes avowedly truthful then, first of all, one of the mystic powers is he's believed everywhere. It almost sounds like one follows the other, but he's indicating there's a kind of a mystic power, and there's a way in which such a person then develops the power from speech to be able to manifest things and so forth. Well, another way to look at it is that although they're dealing with Brahma Tejas, it's kind of in a superficial way, because in this context, they're destroying things. And it's always easier to blow stuff up than it is to create something. Through the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, there are people who are dead spiritually, and then they come alive. I mean, if you wanted to argue it the other way, you could say like it is manifesting, because Prabhupāda came to the park, he chanted the mantra, and then all of a sudden, now there are tens of thousands of temples all over the world. Where did that come from? That's kind of hard to do. Even Brahma Tejās can't do that. We do have to move in this life. Which direction will we move? We have to find a venerable Vaiṣṇava, somebody who has been through life and through all the tribulations, trials, and has continued to serve Kṛṣṇa. Such a person can give us that advice. Prabhupāda had lived his whole life, gone through all the stages, all the way to Paramahaṁsa, and then came to the West to teach us and gave us a process. And at every step, he knew how to navigate the world, not only telling us how to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, but how to live a balanced life. So, we are very fortunate to have a venerable Vaiṣṇava to follow in the footsteps of. In Govardhana Hill, we go on parikramā during Kārtika. Some days are either cold or too hot, and you are tired from the day before. And I always found that if I found a devotee going around fast and just got behind him and followed, every step, he moved to the left, I would move to the left. He'd speed up, I'd speed up. Sometimes he'd turn around and say, "Who is following me?" But without even looking up, I didn't even look where I was going. I just watched where the footprints were and kept going. And in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, it is recommended to find a Vaiṣṇava to chase behind. It makes life very easy, and the ocean of the material world shrinks. Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jai! Vaiṣṇava ācāryas kī jai! Assembled devotees ki jai ! And now we have one more song glorifying not only the Vaiṣṇavas, but all the holy dhāmas. And I actually heard this song one day when I was going around Govardhana Hill in the dark. I heard a Vaiṣṇava somewhere up ahead of me singing this song. I didn't know what the song was, so I got close. I didn't have a recording instrument, but I listened as carefully as I could, so I could catch at least a few lines and try to look it up. And then I found it was a song by Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākur where he glorifies the devotees, the dhāmas, and devotional service. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualmusic #kirtan #bhajan #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

To the point of what about giving up one's home, going to the forest, and fasting most of the time? The answer is the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra doesn't require these. And the answer is in Prabhupāda's letter, where he uses the phrase "forced meditation." Force means power, and "forced" means pushed by a power greater than oneself. The chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa is infused with Kṛṣṇa's unlimited powers. What's more, when chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa with attention, Kṛṣṇa, the all-powerful, pushes us along. Consider how when someone forces us to do something, that person is more powerful than we are. When someone forces us to do something, we are not doing it voluntarily. For example, a mother may force her child to go to school. Consider the phrase, "Clyde's mother forced him to go to his first day of school, as he was at first unwilling." Clyde's mother, in this sense, is more powerful than Clyde, and she makes him go to school for his own good. When we chant the mahāmantra, we invite Kṛṣṇa to push us forward on the spiritual path, even if we are unwilling. Those who chant japa avail themselves of Kṛṣṇa's power. The Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra is a prayer requesting The Lord to engage us in His spiritual service. Getting out of the material world, the world regulated by Māyā Devī, is not easy. We are stuck, not just in her orbit, but we are imprisoned in her world. Devī-dhām—a place of torture—that is impossible to escape. Who will intervene on our behalf? Who will save us? Kṛṣṇa will. But more precisely, Kṛṣṇa's names have appeared as our liberator. Our chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, therefore, is our cry for Kṛṣṇa's help, recognizing that he is not only more powerful than we are but he is also the master of Māyā Devī. What's more, he knows better than we what is good for us. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

This verse in the Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā (BS 5:37) describes Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. It says Kṛṣṇa is there, but eternally expanded to serve him is Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, and within the purport—have you ever read the purport to that verse? We've read it together in the old days. It's the longest purport you'll find in the Brahma-saṁhitā or perhaps anywhere else, and it's a description really of the 64 arts that Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is perfect in. And she offers that to Kṛṣṇa. It's this perfection of service that is ārādhanam, this feeling of "Let me perfect my service." So this is the motto of ISV. Our motto, our battle cry, is "Always better service," and this is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, and all the devotees are always trying to follow in her footsteps to perform better and better service to Kṛṣṇa, because her service is the best. Her service is perfect, so we try to perfect our service. In Vṛndāvana once, Prabhupāda came out of his room and the devotees offered him a garland. It was scraggly. Is that a word? Scraggly? It is? Yay! It was scraggly; it was withered. And in the first place, it wasn't a very nice garland, but after the heat hit it, then it turned into something that made Prabhupāda's lips curl a little bit. And then he called all the garland makers to his room, and he gave them a seminar on how to make garlands. So when I walked in this morning and I saw these—the garlands that the devotees are making here—this is ārādhanam. This is the mood of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. In the fine arts in the spiritual world, as an example, garland making is one of the arts. Can it be refined? Well, I remember a day here at ISV when it was by Jamunā's grace that we had any flowers at all. We were so poor. How poor were we? I remember we were so poor when we decided to start our saṅkīrtan party and we needed a table. We looked around at each other, "Where are we going to get it? We need a table to set up. We'll have to get somebody to loan us the money." The flowers that we were getting, because Jamunā from the very beginning was the only one supplying us flowers, and they were carnations, but the room was so hot there at our old temple. How hot was it? It was so hot that those little garlands that we offered, the best of what we could put together, they would dry up within an hour and they became these very scraggly little garlands. But over time, we see that the devotees have learned the art of making garlands, and Kṛṣṇa has given more and more facility to get flowers, which is the real opulence in Deity worship—flowers. And now, if you see these vases up here next to Prabhupāda or over here, this looks like somebody is following in the footsteps of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. What to speak of Prabhupāda's garland! Hare Kṛṣṇa! And you can imagine, while they are making those garlands—they take hours, it takes hours to make those—and then the offering goes. And Śrīla Prabhupāda wears it for a few hours. The Deities wear them for a few hours. But do the devotees who made them feel satisfied? Yeah, completely satisfied... Chaitanya and Nitai are so merciful that they don't consider any offenses. That's one of the reasons that Śrīla Prabhupāda mentions that when we approach Kṛṣṇa, we first have to approach Nitāi and Gaurāṅga. One of the names of Lord Nityānanda is adoṣa-darśī. Doṣa means a fault, and adoṣa means no fault, and darśī means to see. So, what his name means is he's the one who doesn't see any faults in others. He only sees the good and tries to uplift all living entities. So Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga is a befitting name for these Deities because they've come here to Los Altos to perform their pastimes and to give everyone who comes here an opportunity to chant, dance, feast, and read the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. And even if they're busy, or they're working, if they have a little bit of association with Nitāi Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga, they'll become transcendentalized and begin to take to the process of devotional service. So this is a great day of celebration. We were feeling great happiness driving over here today, knowing that the Adoṣa-darśī Gaurāṅga would appear in your home. When I went in the back room to see them, they were so blissful. It reminded me of the song of kevala ānanda-kanda. The whole process of worshiping them, or keeping them in your home and just chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa together, is so sublime and effective that anyone who takes to this will become uplifted. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the 14th Chapter of the 10th Canto that when people have a home, if it doesn't have Kṛṣṇa Consciousness inside, then it becomes like a prison. They're locked in, can't get out. Every realm is defined by the sound vibration. So you can have a fancy house, but once you are locked in there, you're stuck with the sound vibration that's inside. If the sound vibration is mundane, then it doesn't matter how fancy the house is, you'll be in hellish consciousness. And by the same principle, if you're even in the simplest environment, if the vibration is pure, then you're not in the material world. You're in the transcendental realm, as the realm is defined by the transcendental sound vibration. I once lived in Bhuvaneśvara in a little hut, went to my god-brother, and HH Gaura Govinda Mahārāja was staying there too. We had no facility, except for we would cook on a little fire, and Mahārāja would give class in the morning sitting on just a little wooden platform. There was nothing around at that time. But we were just completely happy, just a little khichḍī. We would sleep on the dirt floor in that hut and then listen to Bhāgavatam and chant, and then go to Jagannāth Purī. And it's a blissful life. So this grandiose society, everyone's trying to find happiness by developing materially, but they don't know the principle, which is sound vibration. So it's our job to introduce the science of Kṛṣṇa consciousness so people can transform their lives by upgrading their soundtrack and making sure that they include The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra. They could even put Gaura Nitāi in their house. What a difference that would make! You could spend $5 million on a house on the street that's on the low side. We looked it up. One house is for sale down here. It's 4.2; it's the crappiest house on the block. But if there's no Gaura Nitāi inside any of these places, then what is the use? Soft pillows and a bed? It's just the exact same thing. That's what Śukadeva Gosvāmī says in the beginning of the Second Canto of Bhāgavatam you know, just live simply and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and be happy. He is our little vegan friend (pointing to a snail on the sidewalk). He is informed from within by the Supersoul, but I'm not sure where he's going now, because it doesn't look promising, does it? You can see how hapless living entities who have no guidance can wander into some place that is extremely dangerous and be stepped on by material nature. So, it's there in the Bhagavatām: 'samāśritā ye pada-pallava-plavaṁ mahat-padaṁ puṇya-yaśo murāreḥ bhavāmbudhir vatsa-padaṁ paraṁ padaṁ padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām (SB 10.14.58).' The material world is vipadam; it's very dangerous. Any step—your step or somebody else's step—can crush you. So that's like material nature. Here's the Virajā, maybe here's Vaikuntha . So, the avatāra comes and just intervenes. "I'm really sorry, my little vegan friend. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. We love you very much. Please tell all your friends to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, and please, in your next life, come back to our program for going back to Godhead. But for now, we'd like to introduce you to a more lush environment. Please enjoy the salad bar, all you can eat. It's very difficult to fit into the material world because we don't belong here, and the hard struggle for existence means trying to find a niche here in the material world, but there is no niche for spiritual souls in this world. So, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa with feeling puts us immediately in our constitutional position. So, it feels natural, and there's great relief because we're acting in our constitutional position as servant, and especially if we remember the meaning of the prayer that we're asking, "Kṛṣṇa, please, let me be daring and active in your service. Please, let me serve you somehow or other." And I was just reading in the Ninth Canto where Śrīla Prabhupāda says that those who are in business, those who are industrious, start some enterprise, and they get some progress in building a business, and they make some money, but they want more. They want to build more buildings. Facebook isn't big enough now, Apple's not big enough. It has to be bigger, bigger buildings, more people involved, more money coming in. So, Prabhupāda then says, "But a devotee is the same way with service, our priorities. We have the same ambition, but the priorities are different. We want more and more service." And chanting with that kind of ambition is very effective, because if I'm just passively chanting or not paying attention, then I may or may not hear the mantra. But if I have this desire, "I want more," think like a CEO or a business owner, "I want more," and if you chant with that mood, "Hare Kṛṣṇa, please give me more service. It's not enough. More, more, more," then that constitutional position becomes even more apparent, and there's deep satisfaction, because Kṛṣṇa not only gives more service, but he also gives empowerment to do it, and in that, we develop more and more capacity. And it's using the human life to develop more capacity for service that actually makes us happy and exalted. The more service one gets by calling out to Kṛṣṇa and asking for help and then following up with what he gives, the more we come to a position of exaltation. That is, we're using the full purpose of human life, and we know it. And then everybody else knows it, too, because they can see that the person is properly situated. Nothing else needs to be done except for service to Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #mantrameditation #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

One may transfer oneself, and it takes practice, to the internal potency, and that's what we're doing. So, anyone can be trained in the philosophy of Kṛṣṇa consciousness to attain this, it takes a lot of coaching, and you have to coach yourself. Everyone feels put upon by material nature, subjected to various miseries. Do you ever feel subjected to various miseries? Then change the subject, because the subject of our mind is how to fix everything in the material world. That's the subject. That's why there are shops everywhere. Every shop has tried to fix some problem, and it doesn't matter how many you go to, it won't work. But if you come to this shop and you practice every day meditating on the one object, the ultimate object of meditation, there's only one ultimate object—that's Bhagavān, and then it's Kṛṣṇa or Lord Caitanya, same. Stay there, and then, "How do I do that? My mind is fickle." Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and listen to the holy name. Everything, all potencies, are fully available in that. It has to be practiced every day carefully. Then when the result comes, there's a change of one's position in life. We go from the struggle of anartha-nivṛtti, which is, "How do I overcome this? Why am I being assaulted constantly by my senses?" to a place, niṣṭhā, where it's noticeable that the noise has gone down, and one feels that one has a standing in spiritual life. It's noticeable. One has a standing in spiritual life and isn't being pushed around by the unwanted desires. They're gone. And then from there comes ruci, which means that it becomes so enjoyable to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa that it's the main thing I want to do, not the last thing I want to do or not, "I have to do this," it's, "When can I do it? How can I do it more?" ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

There's a way in which, if one is pure or impure, "oṁ apavitraḥ pavitro vā sarvāvasthāṁ gato 'pi vā yaḥ smaret puṇḍarīkākṣaṁ sa bahyābhyantaraḥśuciḥ." If you somehow or other remember Kṛṣṇa, then whether you are in an impure state or not, you'll become pure by remembering Him. And the best way to remember Kṛṣṇa is by chanting His holy name. The conundrum comes when I feel that I'm so impure that I can barely chant. So when and how do we get out of that rut? The śāstra says, "nāmāparādha-yuktānāṁ nāmāny eva haranty agham aviśrānti-prayuktāni tāny evārtha-karāṇi ca," that "go on chanting, somehow or other, keep that vibration going, and by the power of the vibration, then we'll get more strength, and we'll also rise above the three modes of material nature. When we're taking off in an airplane or a rocket or in a project, the energy in the beginning has to be concentrated so we can get off the ground. So similarly, when we start chanting, when we are in the beginning stages of devotional service, there is more pressure from the atmosphere. It's difficult to get out. So we have to have association. We have to hear sambandha-gyān, and we have to try really hard to focus our minds and to chant the holy names without offense. When we come to the point of niṣṭhā and ruci, then we're taking off from the ground, leaving the atmosphere of the three modes of material nature, "māṁ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa bhakti-yogena sevate sa guṇān samatītyaitān brahma-bhūyāya kalpate" (BG 14.26), and the chanting will become easier because we have taste and a standing in devotional service. So whatever situation of life we're in, we should take shelter of the holy name. Whatever condition I think I'm in, there's no disqualification. I have to go on chanting, somehow or other. Fix the mind on Kṛṣṇa, which means somehow or other, go on chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Śrīmad Bhāgavatam mentions that those who are chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa are at such a high level because The Holy Name is the pinnacle of all Vedic knowledge. "Aho bata śva-paco 'to garīyān yaj-jihvāgre vartate nāma tubhyam tepus tapas te juhuvuḥ sasnur āryā." Devahūtī says, "Aho bata śva-paco 'to garīyān," which means, "Oh, how wonderful it is!" "Tepus tapas te juhuvuḥ sasnur āryā brahmānūcur nāma gṛṇanti ye te." (SB 3.33.7) This means that those who have somehow or other come to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, even if it's just a little bit, with the tip of their tongue, they just say Hare Kṛṣṇa once —these people you should understand to have already graduated. There are levels of education. For instance, one has to go through a process to become a lawyer, an attorney, what to speak of after that, to become a judge. You know that if somebody is a judge, he or she has gone through law school, and that's why that person is sitting behind the bench giving verdicts. In a similar way, Devahūtī is saying, if someone can say Hare Kṛṣṇa, they have to be counted amongst those who somehow or other have come to this high level of connection with the Supreme Personality of God, through His Holy Name. And if someone can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and does so with sincerity, it's also known that that person has superseded the level of Brāhmaṇism. So, accepting The Holy Name as one's life and soul and one's main meditation is the recommendation of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. At the outset of the Bhāgavatam, in the First Canto, First Chapter (SB 1.1.14), it is said: "āpannaḥ saṁsṛtiṁ ghorāṁ yan-nāma vivaśo gṛṇan tataḥ sadyo vimucyeta yad bibheti svayaṁ bhayam'" So, there's no difference at all between Kṛṣṇa and His Holy Name. Therefore, anyone can take advantage of the association of Kṛṣṇa and can get protection from Him just by saying "Hare Kṛṣṇa," because Kṛṣṇa is personally present. And near the end of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, it is said that the essence of everything is the chanting of Hari, the Lord's holy names. https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/3/33/7 https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/1/1/14 ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Some people complain that when they pray to God, they do not feel His presence. We should know that this is due to our incapacities, not God's. There are two conceptions of presence: the physical conception and the vibrational conception. The physical conception is temporary, whereas the vibrational conception is eternal. When we enjoy or relish the vibration of Kṛṣṇa's teaching in Bhagavad-gītā, or when we chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, we should know that by those vibrations, He is immediately present. He is absolute. And because of this, His vibration is just as important as His physical presence. When we feel separation from Kṛṣṇa or the spiritual master, we should try to remember their words of instructions, and we will no longer feel that separation. Such association with Kṛṣṇa and the spiritual master should be association by vibration, not physical presence. That is real association. We put so much stress on seeing, but when Kṛṣṇa was present on this earth, so many people saw Him and did not realize that He is God. So what is the advantage of seeing? By seeing Kṛṣṇa, we will not understand Him, but by listening carefully to Him and His teachings, we can come to the platform of understanding. We can touch Kṛṣṇa immediately by sound vibration. Therefore, we should give more stress to the sound vibration of Kṛṣṇa and of the spiritual master, and then we will feel happy and won't feel separation. 'Avatar' means our friend who comes down to get us, and The Holy Name really takes us by the hand. We need a friend in this world to hold us by the hand and to take us out. We can't fend for ourselves here in this world; we are overwhelmed. 'Daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī mama māyā duratyayā mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti te' (BG 7.14) This surrender is actually sweet surrender. It means, "Accept The Lord's hand." He's holding it out, especially through His name. And if I just grab on and say, "Kṛṣṇa, I can't do this by myself. Please allow me to accept Your merciful hand to pull me out of this material world." That's exactly why He comes as The Holy Name, to save us. So, I want to point out too that we don't just have to chant during japa. We have to keep The Holy Name always close to us throughout the day. Keep the vibration going as much as possible—in between, after, during, when you wake up in the morning, when you wake up at night, say, "Hare Kṛṣṇa, always Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare Hare" Prabhupada had a god-brother, Akinchana Krishna Das Babaji Maharaj, whom he liked very much. He loved him. When he would come, they would sit together for hours and talk. And Akinchana Krishna Das Babaji Maharaj, he only chanted Hare Kṛṣṇa. I mean, he spoke very few words; he would chant shlokas and he would chant Hare Kṛṣṇa constantly. And this is the prerogative of a soul ready to go back to Godhead: they just say, "You know, hey, it didn't work out. So I tried for a few trillion lifetimes. It didn't work. So no problem, let me just take shelter of a different course now." ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Although Kṛṣṇa is nondifferent from His name, and although the process is simple, our minds may become blank or bored and think of some other kind of variety of the material world. This is why practice is required, because that's an obstacle to our ultimate well-being and happiness in life, which is to reconnect with Kṛṣṇa. When we talk about crossing the ocean of material existence, we talk about crossing over these conditions of mind that prevent us from steadiness in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. One of them is this sense that chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is boring; that can be counteracted by numerical strength -"saṅkhyā-pūrvaka-nāma-gāna-nātibhiḥ." It means, even though you may not see the results right away, you still have to show up and do your number. You have to count it, and you have to do it every day, and you can't skip it. That's what determination looks like, and that's what seriousness looks like in spiritual life, that's necessary. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Everything that we do, especially as humans, has consequences. There's a sequence that takes place when we enact anything—say any word, think any thought, perform any action, or do any work. There's a consequence; there's a sequence that unfolds. The most important of all consequences come from the chanting of The Holy Name.Another point is that if we don't do anything else right in our life, if we don't do it perfectly, if we concentrate all our disciplined energy in chanting good rounds, then everything else will go right. This is because, by chanting good rounds, everything else self-aligns. As Prabhupāda writes in one of his purports, by chanting the mantra, all energies are synchronized in one place. Finally, it feels so good to chant because, first of all, it's perfect alignment. In other words, in the vernacular, we're doing the right thing. It's also Ācāryopāsanā because, as we heard, the great sages, the great devotees, they chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Not only that, we got instructions directly from Lord Caitanya and then, through this succession, under whom, Śrīla Prabhupāda, we've taken shelter to chant in a particular way and to finish a particular number. This is numerical strength, and by doing it regularly, we get this ācāryaopāsanā, worship of the Ācārya. And so, everything good comes from chanting The Holy Name. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

As we go on chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, it's very natural that our Kṛṣṇa consciousness will awaken, step by step, by the force of the spiritual energy that's coming from Kṛṣṇa. No question about it; absolutely certain, 100%. So we have to be patient, and we have to continue with the process and be very, very confident that everything will happen by Kṛṣṇa's arrangement at the right time. The way that you're dedicating yourselves to getting absorbed in chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa—is a sure way to success for everybody. It doesn't matter what your present position or condition is. It doesn't matter which combination of complexities you're dealing with in your life; everybody has them. The process of devotional service and of chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa will be absolutely 100% effective. So you have to continue, despite the fact that you're walking a gauntlet in the material world, where you're being harassed at every step, on all sides, by the mind and by all the miseries that come naturally with the material world. They come to every single living being, from the time that you're in the womb till the time that you're leaving your physical body, that's for sure. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japajolt #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

One could also argue, using the things Prabhupāda said and what the śāstras say, that chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is our primary business. After all, in taking Dīkṣā or Harinām initiation, one promises to chant The Holy Name. One doesn't promise, you know, other kinds of services necessarily, but that's the main thing that we say, "we'll do every day, without fail." And in that last section I read from Prabhupāda, he said, "If you, if you don't do anything else, you just chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, then, yeah, you're okay." So it's an important point to remember, this is sevā. We're serving Kṛṣṇa by chanting. One thought I had when we started the chanting was that when we have that perspective—at least I know when I'm chanting, if I think, "Oh, where's the bliss? Why aren't I happy? You know, how come the holy name isn't entertaining me and dancing in front of me or something like that?"—then it's very difficult to chant. But if I'm thinking, "This is a service," I'm more in a service mind and I'm thinking, "I am serving Kṛṣṇa by chanting out loud like this," then it feels very blissful. It opens the pathway for the taste to come, because I'm thinking of doing it for Him, not for me.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #makejapagreatagain #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

I'm going to read one small section from Prabhupada's teachings on The Holy Name. This is from a lecture on Sri Caitanya-caritāmṛta. Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu has five features. What are these? Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa manifestation, Kṛṣṇa incarnation. Kṛṣṇa is different, potency in this way. And Kṛṣṇa, the source of devotional service. He is Kṛṣṇa. Caitanya, bhakta-śaktikam. To advance in devotional service requires spiritual strength. It is not so easy thing. The spiritual strength is also Kṛṣṇa, bhakta-śaktikam. Therefore, we have to practice Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. Kṛṣṇa advises, 'Always think of Me.' Where is the difficulty? We have to think of something; we cannot keep our mind vacant. That is not possible. So, make it a point that, 'Think of Kṛṣṇa.' That's all. Think of Kṛṣṇa. And if you chant, if you engage your tongue, Hare Kṛṣṇa, and if you hear, then everything is compact in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. So handy! Just one mantra and only one duty for the tongue: keep chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa in all circumstances, and everything will be perfect by Kṛṣṇa's arrangement. That's a good deal! Who would pass it up? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

It's so clear in the teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu that He brought it out through His own teacher, Śrīla Īśvara Purī, who instructed Him upon initiation into the process of chanting Hare Krishna: harer nāma harer nāma harer nāmaiva kevalam kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva nāsty eva gatir anyathā That you don't have to look anywhere else. It's all here. He said it three times: that it's in the holy name, it's in the holy name, holy name. By chanting, chanting, chanting, then you'll attain the perfection of your life, of yoga. Everything else comes from that. So, the process of chanting japa is extremely powerful. And the more that we're able to focus on the devotional chanting, the more our love for Kṛṣṇa manifests in our heart. You can feel it even in one session of chanting. If you actually invest your emotion—that "I'm very fallen, I need shelter. Kṛṣṇa, You're so kind"—the mood of gratitude is being manifested out through your voice, in chanting the holy names. Then, as I mentioned in the beginning, all stipulated energies are manifest. I'll just read the sentence one more time. We'll take some reflections. Prabhupāda writes: "By chanting the Lord's holy name, one can derive all these stipulated energies synchronized from all sources," so everything becomes perfectly manifest. And if we can focus our desire on advancing spiritually and then chant the holy name with that intention, then everything manifests in our life: all spiritual paraphernalia, all the mentorship, all the enthusiasm, whatever is necessary will be manifest in our lives. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Caitanya Mahāprabhu teaches actually that The Holy Name is very merciful and descends for our benefit, but we mustn't take it for granted. Not taking it for granted means giving full attention to the chanting. If we do that, we'll find for ourselves what is called nāma-bala, or strength that we get from the name. We'll understand that even chanting in nāmābhāsa, although we haven't realized the direct manifestation of Kṛṣṇa in His name, we'll start to feel the effects of chanting, and will get faith. In nāma-aparādha or chanting without attention would be like calling somebody to speak to them, and they come over to you, and then you turn your back on them and get on your cell phone. How would they feel? Similarly, when we're chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, we're calling Kṛṣṇa, "Please come. Please help me." And when He comes, if I turn around and do something else with my mind, with my intelligence, or even physically, if I turn the other way and start fixing a curtain rod, then this is a kind of an offense.Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura says this kind of chanting can actually lead to atheism. Why? Because if I do that repeatedly, then I'll start to think that there is no actual manifestation of The Holy Name because I'm not experiencing it. I'm not getting nāma-bala or strength, I'm not having any sphūrti or direct realization of The Holy Name. And then I'll start to commit the fifth offense and think that The Holy Name is imagination, that somebody just made it up. There's some made-up philosophy, and then there's a series of other events he describes, in which I try to justify the situation. And then people can even stop the process altogether and become lost again in the material whirlpool, drowned. So it's incumbent upon the sādhaka to take the process of chanting seriously, and seriously means to give your full attention when chanting. So that takes practice, because the mind is accustomed to taking shelter of distraction and finding pleasure in it. It actually feels some kind of perverse satisfaction in moving from one thing to the next. It's a kind of conditioning. Or, it takes shelter in dullness or laya, where my mind feels satisfaction in sleep—in a kind of thick darkness, in which I zone out from the variety of the world. And then when I wake up, I get back into the distracted state. In order to come to the state of actually full focus on The Holy Name, ekāgra—where I'm one-pointed—it takes a lot of practice, and also a kind of again and again practicing simplicity of the mind: that I'm okay without being distracted, without going to other things, and I can simply focus on the chanting without going anywhere else. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whys

And he (Prabhupada) said, 'Similarly, by spiritual sound vibration, then all spiritual paraphernalia necessary for your advancement will come together as well. And therefore, by very deliberately chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and purifying one's consciousness by that process, there's a natural way in which one's spiritual life evolves.' And one last point is that the mood of chanting is important, because Kṛṣṇa is The Paramātmā, The Supersoul within everyone's heart, and He's fulfilling the desires of all living beings. So it's not some mechanical process, because material nature is malleable, and one might exploit it for one's own purposes. In which case, Kṛṣṇa can make such an arrangement. But if we sincerely desire to serve Kṛṣṇa and we chant with that intention, Kṛṣṇa very quickly delivers the spiritual paraphernalia necessary. So it's chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. It's also in the mood of surrender to Krishna, which is the smartest thing any living entity can do after 'striking out' (a baseball term, I don't know if you have it in cricket) billions of times and finally decides to surrender to Krishna.' So if we chant with that mood, then Lord Caitanya says, 'It is an utterance which is now coined as the Śikṣāṣṭakam: param vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam,' that will have complete success. So it's worthwhile cause to take time to chant in the mood of surrender The Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahamantra ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Excerpted from the Brihat-bhagavatāmṛta about the power of Saṅkalpa: "My dear boy, whatever you desire while chanting your mantra, by its power, you will fully achieve. Indeed, you will attain more than you desire." Commentary: Before performing any religious ritual, including the chanting of mantras, one should solemnly formulate one's saṅkalpa (intention), either verbally or mentally. In most Vedic sacrifices, one can expect one's saṅkalpa to be fulfilled only in the indefinite future, most likely in the next life. But by the blessings of his guru, Gopa-kumāra's specific saṅkalpas would all be quickly realized, as we shall see as his story continues. So, solemnly formulating saṅkalpa is like aiming your arrow before shooting it. And as is mentioned, it should be done to develop a determination, which means a firmness of purpose, a resoluteness. It's the process of establishing something exactly, typically by calculation or research. These are necessary to aim when we're chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, to aim ourselves as the arrow towards Kṛṣṇa. And "solemn" means characterized by deep sincerity. When we solemnize something, we're doing it duly, and we're doing it very formally. So, it's not casual. So, before chanting, if you clearly establish your purpose for doing it, you will gain immediate momentum and get in the mood of doing it. So this saṅkalpa is recommended. And I just ask all of you, if it's possible, to take just a moment right now. If you happen to have a pen and a piece of paper close by, you can try this experiment because it's a very useful exercise. And that is, just in one sentence, write down your main purpose in chanting japa this morning. You don't have to overthink it, but from your heart, with your determination, write down why you're chanting the japa this morning. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Mukharvinda Prabhu was telling us, during our program at 12 noon, about an engineering principle: that if you're trying to solve a problem and it's not easily solved, you have to go back and look at the root. It's called the RCA- root cause analysis. So, Kṛṣṇa consciousness is a root cause analysis, and the root cause of all problems, all confusions, and complexities has to do with forgetting Kṛṣṇa. And so, that's why chanting japa feels like such a relief, because most of our lives are moving from one place to another, trying to solve a problem, and as soon as we solve one problem, if we ever do, then another one comes, or maybe a multiple of the first ones, like a hydra. But when we go to the RCA and we take the advice of the śāstra, which is, "Always remember Kṛṣṇa, never forget Kṛṣṇa," and then to the very clear philosophy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, which is, "Kṛṣṇa is fully present in his name," also, of course, the philosophy of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam—āpannaḥ saṁsṛtiṁ ghorāṁ, Kṛṣṇa and His name are non-different—then we naturally feel happy to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. What's more, if we're trying to find the solution to a problem and we can't find it, better chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. And if we feel that life is overwhelming us, better chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. So, thank you for being among the sumedhasah, as mentioned by Karabhajana Muni in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. Those who take to this chanting are extremely intelligent, because they've figured out the RCA. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

We don't have to be envious because Kṛṣṇa is so opulent that if you just have your own bhajan, it's enough, because Kṛṣṇa gives everything to everyone, all at once. You don't have to worry that somebody got more fame than you do, or they can sing better, or they have better association. We all have an eternal relationship with Kṛṣṇa, who's the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And there's no lack ever—that feeling of, "Oh, I didn't get it," or "Somebody else is better than me," or something. We don't have to have that; it's not necessary. We can just be sincere and chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and take shelter of Kṛṣṇa and be very, very, very grateful. And I see the devotees who are most advanced: they're joyful when they see other devotees advancing, when they see others that have shining qualities, they become gleeful. And that's real life. There's no end to the happiness that we experience when we feel grateful for devotees. And we love devotees because they're loved by Kṛṣṇa. That's real life. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Prabhupāda writes: 'Regarding your last question about the ecstatic symptoms of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa: You should know that the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra has an equal effect upon all devotees. Just like the sunshine has an equal effect on everyone, but when it is covered, the sunshine has a different effect. Similarly, the influence of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra becomes manifest when one is no longer covered by the ten offenses to chanting. The more we become free from the ten offenses, the more the effect of chanting becomes manifest through us. Everyone can become a great devotee, being freed from the offenses 100%, simply by one's own determination and effort.' If You Don't Feel Satisfied, Feed Your Soul More | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 01 Jun 2025

Just to summarize, we are not our bodies; we're spiritual beings. You have to feed the soul. If you're feeding something other than the soul, that's what is causing the anxiety. Simple equation, not a difficult algorithm to change. Change where you're giving your nurture. Don't nurture just the body; just nurture the body enough so the soul can be properly situated in the body, so that you can feed the soul as much as possible. And if you don't feel satisfied, feed your soul more.Just remember that, because it's what the Bhāgavatam says: "All the brightest people in the world got together at Naimiṣāraṇya to discern what is the purpose of life," and they came out with this admonition: "sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje ahaituky apratihatā yayātmā suprasīdati." (SB 1.2.6) That means that if you want to be blissful, if you want to be actually happy, then find out how to be more engaged in feeding your soul by being connected in Kṛṣṇa consciousness through what we call bhakti yoga—doing the activities that connect you directly to Kṛṣṇa. That's always the answer, and there is no other. All the anxieties of the world cannot be fixed—or, I should say, any of the anxieties of the world cannot be fixed—by making more money. It doesn't work. You can't fix the problem. You can temporarily fix it with self-help. And we may need some organization in our life; we may need some physical therapy. If you have a pinched nerve, you've got to take care of it. You may need some psychological therapy. If your mind is so disturbed, you have to get to a place where at least you can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa without your mind being in a stage of rage or whatever it may be in. But the ultimate solution, says the Bhāgavatam, is to find out how to integrate this spiritual process, especially chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, into your life by increments, more and more, as we get older, we should do more, not less. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Chanting Hare Krishna Is As Right As Rain | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 27 Mar 2021

I heard Prabhupāda speaking this morning. Tāmal Kṛṣṇa Mahārāja, as a very young devotee, was telling Prabhupāda, as he was listening to him in awe, he was saying, "Prabhupāda, I always want to remember you speaking. I always want to be able to remember what you're saying and then to be able to recall it and say it myself." And Prabhupāda said, "This takes cultivation." He said, "Everything takes cultivation." So our "right as rain" process, where we sit down and chant every day and just do it—do the activity—because it's following in the footsteps of the ācārya - 'ācāryavān puruṣo veda', means that you know everything, you're properly situated. If you can cultivate that, then you've got a perfect life as a human being. And that's why it feels so good to every day finish your rounds and do the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa. I know after last week's session, I just felt great because I was thinking, "Wow, there's something in this Hare Kṛṣṇa chanting!" If we can stick together and keep doing this and get more people involved, then it's the only way to make the world a better place—to start from that level and then work outwardly. So it's a worthy cause. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Here's an excerpt from the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā, chapter four, in which Prabhupāda quotes from the Bhakti-sandarbha. This is the verdict of Jīva Gosvāmī in describing the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa: "Chanting the holy name is the chief means of attaining love of Godhead. This chanting or devotional service does not depend on any paraphernalia, nor on one's having taken birth in a good family. By humility and meekness, one attracts the attention of Kṛṣṇa. That is the verdict of all the Vedas. Therefore, if one becomes very humble and meek, he can easily attain the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa in this age of Kali. This is the fulfillment of all great sacrifices, penances, and austerities, because when one achieves ecstatic love of Godhead, he attains the complete perfection of life. Therefore, whatever one does in executing devotional service must be accompanied by the chanting of the holy name of the Lord, the chanting of the holy name of Kṛṣṇa: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.' ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Prabhupāda signed his letters, "Your ever well-wisher," which means he wished us well. He gave us the instructions, which were his blessings. You find at the beginning of his letters, he says, "Please accept my blessings." So the blessing is that I'm giving you this sound, this vibration, and now I'm your well-wisher, but you have to take advantage of it. There's only one kind of true happiness in life: the happiness of applying oneself to the order of the ācāryas. In that endeavor, taking some austerity means prying myself away from what I want to do or what my senses want to do, and instead doing what the ācārya says is good for me. This is tapasya, and in tapasya there's actual happiness. The senses become purified. I feel joy in my heart. I feel aligned with Kṛṣṇa, and I get all good qualities naturally. The supreme process in the Age of Kali-yuga is this chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. So everybody here that's on this call or connected in any way listening to it afterwards is in the right place at the right time. You came to the right Yuga, the right planet, and the right room, because here we're chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. We're following the ācārya to the best of our ability, and that means success. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Actually, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is the only thing that can completely satisfy the heart, and one of the reasons is—or the main reason is—that we're part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. We have a very intimate relationship with Him. In one sense, we are Kṛṣṇa because we're one of His limbs. On the other side, achintya bheda abheda: we have our own identity. It's achintya, inconceivable. But if you consider how intimate we are, as Prabhupada explains, if you have a limb like a finger, what will you do to protect your finger? How will you take care of it? How important do you consider it to be? So, Kṛṣṇa considers every one of us to be important because we're His limbs, we're His parts and parcels—in one sense, on one side, non-different from Kṛṣṇa. And the feeling of separation from Him, dvitiya, thinking that I'm something separate from Him, is the cause of a completely different world. It's a world in which there's ignorance of the fact that we're part of Krishna, we're eternally His servants, and we enjoy in cooperation with Him, just as the finger does in cooperation with the hand and the rest of the body. So, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa feels so good because we finally have that respite we need from the pounding we get in the material world when we're trying to arrange things separately from Kṛṣṇa. We're just fully putting our attention in the hands of Krishna and just focusing on His name. Just as an experiment for a few minutes, we can probably only take about four or five in the time we have left. But I'd like you to rate yourself on a scale of one to ten. Ten means samadhi, that you attained complete absorption, that you're just fully fixed on the name without any fluctuation of your attention to any other place. One means that you were like sleeping on the floor and dreaming about some other land. Where did you end up on the scale? How do you rate yourself in the last 45 minutes of chanting the maha-mantra? Say a number—you don't have to give a long explanation, just a short one. And then say one thing that you find to be endearing about And then say one thing that you find to be endearing about Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

We've been given full permission to give our complete attention to chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, talking about Kṛṣṇa, and worshiping Kṛṣṇa. And if somebody brings up another topic, you can say, 'I appreciate it very much. If it were any other lifetime, I would be happy to discuss it with you. However, in this lifetime, I no longer have time, because I have been given one business—and that is to chant about Kṛṣṇa, worship Kṛṣṇa, and spread the Holy Name to people all over the world. If it was any other lifetime, I would be happy to talk to you about it. But in this lifetime, I've dedicated myself to this project, and I don't have time. Like, you know, sometimes people say, "It was any other day," or "any other something." It's like, "It was any other lifetime, it was any other previous lifetime." I would have probably been happy to talk to you about this, but in this lifetime, I won't be able to, because I have one point of dedication: Tasmād ekena manasā Bhagavān sātvatāṁ patiḥ Śrotavyaḥ kīrtitavyaś ca Dhyeyaḥ pūjyaś ca nityadā. (SB 1.2.14) This is the conclusion of the seminar, the 1000-Year seminar that took place at Naimiśāraṇya. They came up with a few mission statements, and one of them is "tasmād ekena manasā." Therefore, "tasmād ekena manasā" means to just point your mind in one direction. This has been the mission statement; it has been passed down from the top of the company. They already decided, and they gave it to us. So, if someone wants to bring your mind somewhere else, to some other conversation that doesn't sound like it's part of your mission, say, "Yeah, no problem. If it was some other previous lifetime, I would have definitely entertained it with you. But in this lifetime, I've been given 'tasmād ekena manasā bhagavān sātvatāṁ patiḥ.' I can only think of Bhagavān and do that kind of business and topic. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #soul #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

So dry up the whole sea of nonsense that's there in your mind by the powerful winds of the holy name. Keep chanting throughout the day as much as possible and keep reading Prabhupāda's books. This morning, I was reading a eulogy of my dear godbrother, Jayananda Ṭhākura, who is very dear to Śrīla Prabhupāda. And Śrīla Prabhupāda had written him a letter that I very much appreciated, regarding the chanting of the holy name, and it has a very straightforward purport. So I wanted to read it to you. And here's what he wrote: 1967 Prabhupāda wrote the following: 'Your service attitude for Kṛṣṇa and your sincere attempts at being advanced in Kṛṣṇa consciousness will work with you and make your life more and more glorious and a happy state. I have been very glad that you are appreciating by yourself the effects of sincere Kṛṣṇa consciousness. I have nothing new to instruct you. The same old instruction, namely, constant chanting and attentively hearing the transcendental vibration Hare Kṛṣṇa is the only process for self-realization in this age. In San Francisco, while you were driving your car, and I was sitting by you, hearing Your transcendental vibration, this very sincere attempt has enriched your consciousness. And my only instruction is that you may constantly do this habit without fail." So Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura said, "Apply the simple path very strictly." So there's a way in which Prabhupāda says here, "There's no new instruction I have for you." And this is one of the ways the mind tries to trick us by saying, "There must be something more sophisticated." But Prabhupāda comes back and says, "No, this is the simple process." He says, "This is the same old instruction: chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." So knowing that everything is there for improvement on all levels is a calming factor to the mind—that just be there. Just hear the vibration, bypass the mind, go straight from the lips into your heart, and be confident that this is the only process that will be effective in this age. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

When the devotees first went to India, Prabhupāda was there, and he invited devotees to come over because he wanted to show what happened. You know, he went alone to America, and he comes back with all these Americans. In India, at the time, people were looking to Americans and go, like, 'How are we going to catch up to these guys? We want what they have.' And then Prabhupāda plays this trick on them, where he comes to America, he gets all these Westerners, and he comes back with a big airplane full of Westerners. 'Here you go. They want what you are supposed to want, which is pure love for God.' In Surat, devotees went there, and they were having kīrtana, and people came out of their houses, and they were grabbing the dust after the devotees walked there, so much so that there were holes in the road! And devotees were surprised and taken aback, and they asked Prabhupāda later, 'Why were they doing that?' And he said, 'Because you follow the four regulative principles and you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, anywhere you go in the world, you'll be honored because of them.' The greatest desire one can have is what Prahlāda Mahārāja showed us: 'Oh my Lord, if I have any desire within my heart, let it be no material desire, only the desire to serve You.' So we have the stark examples: Hiraṇyakaśipu—boo! And then you have Prahlāda Mahārāja, he's worshipable to us. In fact, Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, when He would sit with Gadādhara Paṇḍita to hear Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, He wanted to hear that story over and over again. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta told all his disciples to read Prahlāda 108 times. Hear that story over and over and over and over again, and he's famous, Prahlada Maharaja. He's famous all over the world because of that. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Prahlāda Mahārāja is the subject of the Seventh Canto. If you measure which topics are there in the entire lengthy seven cantos of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva makes a very short appearance. He just comes in, tears apart Hiraṇyakaśipu, and that's it. But Prahlāda is featured throughout as a tender child, offering instructions to his classmates and also praying to Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. These are memorable prayers which have been repeated over millennia, people remembering what is the basic entry-level standard for the process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or bhakti, or what we call devotional service, and that is, "I don't want anything except to serve. I just want to serve Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa's devotees, and whatever I have for myself, it's only so that I can go on serving." And Prahlāda is the emblem of that. Interestingly, in the Bṛhat-Bhāgavatāmṛta, when Nārada Muni is trying to find the devotee who's received the most mercy from Kṛṣṇa and is interviewing different people, observing them, when he comes to Prahlāda Mahārāja, Prahlāda said, "I didn't get much mercy actually." He said, "Because I didn't get any service; He just came to save me, but He didn't give me specific service to do." And that actually is very telling, because when you get service, then you can go on doing that eternally. If you are granted some service, like, SKP, he just walked in with the list. Hare Kṛṣṇa, we're fortunate because we've been given some service to do, and that's the greatest benediction that we can have. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Prabhupāda also says that one can be attentive when one has a sense of love for Kṛṣṇa, and following the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa requires some adjustment to one's lifestyle and also consciousness, in that we remember that "I'm helpless," as Kuntī says, "let go of any sense that you have a maintainer or protector, and just take shelter of Kṛṣṇa, then your chanting will be effective." 'Janmaiśvarya-śruta-śrībhir edhamāna-madaḥ pumān naivārhaty abhidhātuṁ vai tvām akiñcana-gocaram (ŚB 1.8.26). So it's the one opportunity we have. Of course, every moment is an opportunity, but this is very deliberate to aim our consciousness like an arrow towards Kṛṣṇa, and we can be very focused by feeling ourselves helpless. And as Caitanya Mahāprabhu said: "tṛṇād api su-nīcena taror iva sahiṣṇunā amāninā māna-dena kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ" (Śikṣāṣṭakaṁ, Verse 3) being utterly dependent on Kṛṣṇa and realizing our own ineptitude. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #mantrameditation #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Well one is to express gratitude. One of my godbrothers told me, while we were traveling, and this is an example of getting something valuable from association. He said, every morning when he wakes up, as soon as he swings out of bed and puts his feet on the floor (of course, if you're a brahmacārī—I don't know how you're going to do that), but before he stands up, he says, 'Thank you, Śrīla Prabhupāda.'" And I said, "I'm going to start doing that too." So I started doing that upon getting up. And then I started saying, "Thank you, Kṛṣṇa." I'd say it a few times until I was chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. I'd say, "Thank you, Kṛṣṇa. Thank you, Kṛṣṇa. Thank you, Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma." And then when I'm chanting my japa, I'm thinking, "Thank you, Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

We're really in a pickle here, and there's a way in which Kṛṣṇa absolves us of all that, if we just come back to our happy life, happy Life means, "Kṛṣṇa, I'm Yours. I'm Your servant." So the meaning of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is very profound. It means that you've come to the pinnacle of understanding that my life is meant for Kṛṣṇa, and everything I do is to be used in His service, dedicated to Him. When you chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, you can take full shelter of Kṛṣṇa and just say, "Kṛṣṇa, I am a lost soul. I'm not liberated. I have nothing in this world. I'm the runt of the litter. I've been left behind, abandoned. I'm freezing by the roadside in the middle of nowhere, and have nobody else but You. Please, please engage me in Your service." And Kṛṣṇa is so kind that in our forlorn, lost situation, He'll be there. In fact, He's always been there for us, and there's a recognition that He's there for us. When we call out to Him, then immediately we'll feel satisfaction in our heart. All the disappointments we've had in this world, all the tenuous situations, trying to hold on to things that we know we can't hold on to, will be assuaged from our fears, from our false hopes that are nagging at us, giving us a sense of cognitive dissonance at every moment of our lives, even when we're dreaming—it will be dried up.Our tears will dry up. So he (Lord Caitanya )went back to His spiritual master, and he said, "Did you give me the right mantra? Because when I chant this, I go crazy." And the spiritual master said, "Very good, very good, very good." And there in the purport, Prabhupāda said, "A spiritual master isn't interested in donations or any material facility. What he wants to see is that the disciple gets the freedom of Kṛṣṇa consciousness and gets a taste for chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa." Prabhupāda—the first time I had the fortune of sitting in his presence, it was in 1973 in San Francisco, a kid from the suburbs. Here's a paramahaṁsa. I went in with a group, got whisked in, sat down, and when the devotees read Prabhupāda the saṅkīrtana results for the day, he looked right at us, and he said, "You must also read my books. I've not written them just for selling. I've written them for you to read, become pure devotees, and go back to Godhead." That's what Prabhupāda wanted. He says so in his books. So he wanted us to read his books. And after that time, I felt full permission to read Prabhupāda's books as much as possible, and I still do, and it's the mainstay of our movement—that is the sound vibration, that is the books. Prabhupāda's books are the primal vibration of ISKCON, and taking full advantage of that vibration by going deeply within them, reading them regularly, reading all of them completely, all the way through as many times as possible in his lifetime—that gives one this internal spiritual strength, and one can understand exactly what Kṛṣṇa wants, what Prabhupāda wanted, hearing from his purports. He said, "Everything I had to say, I said in my books, so please read them carefully and discuss them." He said in his final purports before he left the world that if there's ever any difference or problems, he said, "Sit together and read Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and you could work it out." So that's what he wanted us to be internally, to be deeply in love with the Bhāgavatam. And that's not hard to do because it's so beautiful. The Bhāgavatam solves all the problems. Kṛṣṇa mentions in the Bhagavad-gītā vīta-rāga-bhaya-krodhāḥ—there are these three main stumbling blocks in the material world: rāga, bhaya, krodha. By reading through the whole Bhāgavatam, there's a way in which the Bhāgavatam helps us overcome all of the psychological anomalies that hold us back from giving our full heart to Kṛṣṇa. And that's what Kṛṣṇa wants. That's what Prabhupāda wants. That's what any Vaiṣṇava wants. They want to see everybody happy. And a Vaiṣṇava knows you can't be happy unless you're with Kṛṣṇa. I mentioned in a class this morning, I just read in the 11th Canto of the Bhāgavatam that the emptiness that people feel in the material world because they're not in contact with Kṛṣṇa is worse than death and hell. The pain of struggling through life and then dying and going to hell is not as great as the emptiness that one feels by not being connected to Kṛṣṇa. And you can directly connect to Kṛṣṇa by reading the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, because that's the sound incarnation of Kṛṣṇa. So that's what Prabhupāda wanted. He wanted us to take advantage of what he painstakingly presented for us. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------

I started noticing at our community that there where kids, and my first notice of them would be that they would trump through the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam class while we were conducting it, without a care in the world, or noticing that they were walking through a group of devotees who were hearing Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Then I started noticing that they were exceptional. Little by little, I noticed that, and I got fascinated with how they were born into families where the chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa, where the devotees were chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. And I saw they must be some special souls. Then I started realizing more and more that they were, and then I started realizing more and more that they were one of the main pillars of the community. So I gave more and more attention to the young people, partly because they were non-judgmental, and it was really easy to be around them and have programs. And then I started doing more research about how to give more facility to young people. I wanted to know what they thought when they were growing up, and what it felt like to be an adolescent in the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement. In fact, I called some devotees who were already grown up, but they had been through that, like Jhanavi Harrison, that I talked to for some time, and she told me how she had met Jamunā and had been deeply inspired by her. And when she was leaving her home and driving away, she thought, "Yeah, I'm going to be a devotee." Then I got together a group of young people who were my godbrothers and godsisters who had been initiated at a young age—some of them at 12, Prabhupāda gave initiation to—and I wanted to know from them what inspired them and what was a hindrance in their progress. After some conferences, they came up with these two mantras. One of them was in the middle of this pentagon that you see there. What helped them the most was seeing peers doing great, and the thing that held them back the most, they said, was not having upward mobility they felt at the time there. There wasn't any opening for them for taking on service or management or anything like that. Then I started noticing that young people gravitated, oftentimes and in many places around ISKCON, to kīrtana. And I started some interaction with the kids, where we had not just kīrtana, but also some of the other things you see here: ślokas, śravaṇam (hearing from Prabhupāda's books), then of course kīrtanam, and then visits to the Deities' rooms, and also learning book distribution. I saw those as five points that could be really helpful, and we started several programs like Youth Jam, Śāstra Jam, Japa Jolt, and Youth Yatra. Why am I bringing this up regarding community? Because people care about their kids right? now, really say, "Yes, yeah." I mean, and when the kids are becoming Kṛṣṇa conscious and well-rounded, and they actually cross that threshold where they say, "No, I want to be a devotee. It's not that I was a devotee. Now I'm growing up, and I'm going to move on and do something else." They feel part of the mission, and they start taking responsibilities like initiation and also wanting to do service. And they're really smart, too, and they bring in everybody else. They bring in the rest of the community. It enlivens them. So I made these two pentagons. One of them is a reminder that it all comes back to śravaṇam-kīrtanam. There's no point to coming together for niceties if there's no transcendental sound vibration, and the community is all based on hearing and chanting and then distributing to as many people as possible. If we have those as a center point, and if we feel that we're flagging in one way or another, we can always remember that the antidote to that is to hear and chant more and increase the transcendental sound vibration. That's helpful to know. And it's the verdict of the śāstra that that's our main process.

How is it that transcendental sound can be transmitted through a material medium? After all, when you hear "Hare Kṛṣṇa," that's a percussive sound, it's coming through the air, and it's touching your eardrum, and it's vibrating, and it goes through the auditory nerve, and then you're able to make some association. So how do you distinguish a material sound from a spiritual sound? Or how are those two different? And they are different, say the personified Vedas, because Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and He controls all energies, and He's fully cognizant of why you're chanting. Therefore, when a pure devotee chants, Pṛthu Mahārāja says in the Fourth Canto of the Bhāgavatam, there's a different effect than when a māyāvādī chants, māyāvādī poison. Pṛthu Mahārāja says, when a pure devotee with love in his heart (or her heart) for Kṛṣṇa chants the holy name, then that holy name, he says poetically, touches Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet. Look, His lotus feet are besmeared with saffron, and that's in the paste that the devotees put on the Lord's lotus feet, and then the sound vibration is mixed with saffron mercy particles. So when you hear that sound vibration by Kṛṣṇa's divine arrangement from a pure devotee, then your heart changes, and you say, "I think I'll surrender to Kṛṣṇa." When a māyāvādī chants, and they think they're chanting to become God, or all demigods are God, are the same, then the sound vibration is contaminating. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #srimadbhagvatamreading #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Just a reminder, there are thousands, tens of thousands, millions of scriptures. They have admonitions about what to do and what not to do. But when we come to our Vaiṣṇava śāstras, and it's repeated in the Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and agreed upon by our own ācāryas, there's only one purpose to all of them, and that's to somehow or other fix your mind on Kṛṣṇa. There's no other place where the mind is satisfied, anywhere in the three worlds. Doesn't matter where you go, how much you get, it won't be satisfied. It'll be disappointed. It'll be morose. And if you think of Kṛṣṇa, then naturally you'll feel satisfied and you'll achieve everything. Lucky for us, there's an all-encompassing and all-engrossing way that we can do that. It's just by chanting the holy name and bypassing the mind. Just let the name of Kṛṣṇa, which is non-different from Him, go directly into our minds and just hear the sound into our ears, and just hear the sound. So don't feel that you have to think of anything else. You don't. Yena kena prakāreṇa manaḥ kṛṣṇe niveśayet—one way or another, find a way just to fix your mind on Kṛṣṇa. That's the...that's the whole purpose. And chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is the topmost way to do that. It's been vetted by all the great ācāryas. So feel free, just fix your mind on Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

In friendship, we require trust between the two. So it's not just that we're trying to develop faith in Kṛṣṇa. It's also that we're trying to act in such a way that He'll have faith in us. Easy come, easy go. If one has very easy access, it would seem like something very insignificant. We do have access, but it's a serious relationship also, where Kṛṣṇa, when He sees that we're sincere and serious, the more that He does reveal Himself to us and talk to us.He does talk to those who are pure devotees and who have no other motive. He says so in the Bhagavad-gītā, that "I'm attentive to those who are attentive to Me." So as an example, let's say you're chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa and what if Kṛṣṇa did talk to you, and He said, "Why don't you come back to Godhead right now?" What would you say? "I would, but I got work later today," or "I still have to go to school," or "I would, but, you know, I wanna take care of my family a little more before I go with You." Kṛṣṇa's relationship is beyond an ordinary relationship where you can be serious or not serious, but Kṛṣṇa wants to evoke that sense of seriousness in us. ----------------------------------------------------------- To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualquestions #answer #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
