It's not by our supposed expertise in anything or our positive thinking, but by the descending mercy that comes by rigidly adhering to the orders of the spiritual master. If you could elaborate that point and give any advice to us of how we might attain success through that principle—as we're interested in doing, individually and collectively, and spreading the saṅkīrtana movement—we would be deeply grateful." Answer by HH Jayādvaita Mahārāja: "Spreading the saṅkīrtana movement" There's the answer in the question. Yes!! Prabhupāda said that was the desire of his spiritual master: that the holy name of Kṛṣṇa be distributed all over the world. It was the desire of Caitanya Mahāprabhu; it was the desire of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura; it's the desire of Śrīla Prabhupāda; it's the desire of your spiritual master—that the glories of Kṛṣṇa be spread all over the world. The glories of the holy name, the name of Kṛṣṇa, the message—"name" means name, form, qualities, pastimes, everything. There's no difference. The saṅkīrtana movement should spread all over the world. Prabhupāda said he learned everything from his father; actually, he said he learned everything: how to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, how to perform the Ratha-yātrā, how to offer to Kṛṣṇa. He said, "But this I learned from my spiritual master: to distribute books; the importance of distributing books." He said, "Everything else was already there from my father, but this I learned from my Guru Mahārāja. He had a great desire to distribute books and said, 'If you ever get money, just print books.'" And we saw how Prabhupāda gave such importance to that. So that's a specific—and a very important—specific. But whatever the service given to me may be by my spiritual master—he told me to worship the Deity, or he told me to chant more rounds, or he told me to cook something, or he told me to teach something—so whatever order I may have received, or even if I haven't received a particular order, I can understand what his desire was, what desire he expressed. Let me do that wholeheartedly. Otherwise, what is the use of my life? Everything else will be finished. I'll get a certain quota of sense gratification in my life; I'll eat a certain number of pizzas, I'll get a certain number of whatevers. But at the end, that will all be of no importance—what clothes, what enjoyment, what house I got to live in, what car I got to drive, what computer I got to use, or what headlines appeared about me in Dandavats.com. That will all be finished. But if we are able to serve the spiritual master—that is, serve his desire, his instruction—that stays with us eternally, or that enables us to stay with him eternally. That should be our treasure: the words, the desires, the instructions, the mission of the spiritual master. And in that verse that's so important:'tomāra se śakti pele guru-sebāya bastu mile.' If we just pick up that one understanding—What do we want from Kṛṣṇa? " Please give me the strength, the inspiration, the determination to serve my spiritual master.' And this was what Prabhupāda claimed to be the fulcrum of power in his campaign to take Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world. He said that by taking the intention of my spiritual master and following his instruction, which he clarified as Mahārāja mentioned. Prabhupāda clarified it because he had received that instruction at Rādhā-kuṇḍa, and then later on, he had written to his spiritual master, just a fortnight before his guru had left the world, and asked, 'How may I serve you?' He had already told him how he might serve Him. And then his guru wrote back and told him that he should preach in the West, and he should engage those he preached to in also carrying forth the message of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. He said it would be good for them, and it would be good for the people that received that message through them. And Prabhupāda told us repeatedly that one must only take up the order of the Spiritual Master of the Guru Paramparā and represent it in a way that would be appreciable by those who would receive it in their particular culture without changing the meaning. So Prabhupāda knew that by following the order of his Spiritual Master, which was very clear, he would be successful. One may follow that, remembering Prabhupāda's claim that 'I am not endowed with any special power except this.' Therefore, he said, everyone who follows what I have passed on to you, and those who pass it on to others in the same mood and mission, will also be successful because it's backed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. A favorite quote of mine—those who've listened to me speak before probably know this in their sleep because I've quoted it so many times—is from the second canto of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. In the purport, Prabhupāda writes that the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is a manifestation of His internal potency, and it is by that potency that one comes to see the Lord face to face. In one of the famous verses of Prahlāda Mahārāja (SB 7.9.28): evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ prabhavāhi-kūpe kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā bhagavan gṛhītaḥ so 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām he says, and Prabhupāda was very fond of this verse and it fits well with today and the theme of what do we do now, that Prabhupāda is no longer physically here, as we often repeat. 'Evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ', Prahlāda expresses this sense of gratitude that you saved me, my Spiritual Master saved me from what? From a pit full of snakes and he says 'kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt' .I was just following the normal course of activities which leads, one after another into this unfortunate well, where there's no escape. And then he says 'kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā', but you've purified me, 'kṛtvātmasāt'. He said you caused me to come to a higher standard of life. 'Surarṣiṇā' who did it? The sage Nārda, my Spiritual Master, 'bhagavan gṛhītaḥ'. And then he finishes, 'so 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām'. So he says then how can I give up his service? So the impetus.. Forbearance to its maximum means the attainment of the original Forbearance to its maximum. Sometimes one gets crumbs of bread while some other time one gets to eat nice sweet things. While at other times one has to fast. That is how things happen.  One should allow things to happen.   One should follow: Be as it may. yes man whatever comes up should be accepted  Go ahead. It is always better to have pain to suffer If you suffer with pleasure you will get plenty of pleasure. Whosoever wants to be happy has to suffer for it first.  That is why I tell everybody that comes here that they should not mind pain. They should patiently bear it, suffer it even with pleasure.   They should never try for pleasure or happiness.  They should always remain content with whatever they have. The most important mantra of mine is: Be as it may. I've been constantly saying that everything has two aspects,  night is opposed to day and both these opposites together constitute a whole day.  Nothing can change it.  In the same way pleasure is always associated with pain. If you want pleasure you are bound to have pain. As well if you can accept pain with pleasure it leads you to infinite God. This Siddhanta.  This is way. High level narcissists stand at center stage, commanding all the attention. He/she struts and preens before the audience. The high level is exultant before his/her adoring audience. These individuals expect nothing less than being perpetually adored.  Many names are associated with these false self high flyers: Champion, Winner, Nobleman, Noblewoman, Prince, Princess, Genius, Spiritual Master.  On the outside, the high level narcissist sparkles, exuding a magnetic charm.  Beneath the many false selves  the high level narcissist is a hollowed out, psychologically empty real self.  The high level uses specific defense mechanisms to protect himself/herself from exposure to the depleted real self.  Projection: Projection is a primitive defense mechanism that involves ejecting vile psychological venom onto victims, especially those close within his inner circle: spouses, ex-spouses, children, siblings. The big advantage for the high level is that there are no consequences for their abominable behavior. When you are the recipient of a primitive projection your guts churn, your heart beats wildly, you feel humiliated—feel like disappearing. Projections originate in the unconscious of the perpetrator. In these dark recesses, powerful untrammeled feelings and inclinations are brewing and foment upward into consciousness.    Massive Denial: This is a profound disavowal of the true reality, particularly about himself. The narcissist believes that he/she is a fine person, an individual of integrity. The high level is immune to his mean, vindictive, demanding behaviors. The narcissist easily finds fault with others, (often rivals for power) whom he criticizes reflexively. The high level harbors a deep envy of his competitors. When he/she has behaved badly in business or socially, the high level shifts the blame on to others rather than taking responsibility for his deceptive, and egregious behaviors. The high level can never admit being “wrong” since the reinforced false self perceives himself/herself as perfect and superior.  Repression:The use of repression works very well for the high level narcissist. This is a form of forgetting and blocking feelings and actions and memories that run counter to the narcissist's belief that he/she is superior and perfect. Repression is a psychological shield that protects the high level from experiencing his emotional and psychological vulnerabilities and imperfections. This mechanism “protects” the narcissist from experiencing his/her hollow, helpless, depleted, empty real self.  Many are so taken with the compelling, believable false selves of the high level narcissist that they are incapable and unwilling to perceive these malevolent individuals for who they truly are—vile exploiters of those whom they psychologically and mentally control.  As a result of your research and clear insights, you perceive the true nature of the high level narcissist defined by the dark, empty, hollowed out core of these individuals.  Give yourself credit for your perseverance, your strong belief in yourself, your mental and psychological stamina.
