In 1983, Thomas Haynesworth was accused and convicted of the rape of 4 women.  He had a solid alibi or so he thought.  His mother said he was at home, so not the best witness, right?  Sadly, he was charged and convicted of rape.  He served 27 years in prison for crimes he did not commit. Later on, a man named Leon Davis who not so coincidentally was recommended as a suspect by Haynesworth was later found to be the rapist due to DNA.  Thankfully for a pack rat medical examiner.  Haynesworth was able to have his conviction overturned.

In just the first month of 1984, five women from the ages of 18 to 20 were sexually assaulted in East Richmond, Virginia. One victim saw an 18 year old named Thomas Haynesworth while he was walking to his local grocery store and called the police naming him as her attacker. Thomas was eventually convicted for three of the sexual assault incidents and sentenced to a total of 74 years in prison. Even though the assumed perpetrator was in custody, the rapes continued throughout East Richmond. Leon Davis, Thomas's neighbor, was eventually arrested and convicted for a dozen incidents over the remainder of 1984. DNA testing ultimately confirmed that Leon was responsible for the crimes for which Thomas was convicted, and Thomas was finally exonerated in 2011 after spending 27 years in prison. Albert Haynesworth was considered one of the top picks in the 2002 NFL Draft. He was drafted first round to the Tennessee Titans. While he had a bright career in front of him, there was a fatal flaw inside of him. That flaw burst onto the public scene in a game between the Tennessee Titans and the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas was winning. Andre Gurode, the Dallas center, was on the ground after a play when Haynesworth attacked him. He tore off his helmet and with cleated shoes stomped on Gurode's face nearly missing his eye but leaving him with deep cuts on his face that required 30 stitches. After the game, when Haynesworth was asked why he attacked the Dallas center he said, "I am a prideful guy. I hate to lose." That was the beginning of Haynesworth's decline in the NFL. He eventually became known as the worst free-agent draft in NFL history. This man was an amazing athletic talent, but pride destroyed his life. Pride isn't just deadly for football players. It is especially deadly for Christians. Join me as we find out why.

Fancy Fella’ of the Week - Nick Young AKA Swaggy P with Iggy at the VMA’s Sports Drama  - Former NFL superstar Albert Haynesworth dumped a bucket of ice cold water on a transient who posted up in front of his burger joint ... after the guy allegedly harassed several female patrons.  Haynesworth -- who famously signed a $100 million contract with the Redskins in 2009 -- now owns the BurgerFi restaurant in Knoxville, TN. Haynesworth noticed a homeless man set up camp in restaurant's underground parking garage and called police to escort him off the property, but the guy came back and began harassing Haynesworth's patrons.  "He swung at some girls.The guy was running off customers."  So Albert decided to take matters into his own hands -- "I gave him the ice bucket challenge!"  Albert says he took a bucket of water from the ice cream machine and doused the guy ... hoping it would send a message that he wasn't welcome on the property.  "I don't usually care [about homeless people on the property] as long as they don't mess with people and sometimes we’ll make them food when they come up to the front and give out forks and napkins to the customers." She already swam from Cuba to Florida ... and now super athlete Diana Nyad tells has a brand new goal -- she wants to pull a Forrest Gump and trek across the USA by foot!!  Nyad was out in L.A. on Monday where she's getting ready to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of her historic swim -- when she told us all about her big plans. "I just decided ... two years from now, I'm going to walk across America ... and get 1 million people to do it with me!"  And what's her motivation?
