It opens with a critique of how demons supposedly target only believers, highlighting the absurdity that atheists seem immune to such phenomena. The panel discusses articles linking possession to genetic and environmental factors, dismissing these claims as unfounded and asserting that indoctrination, not genetics, perpetuates belief in possession. One story profiles Ryan Swiglar, a former Satanic Church co-founder turned Christian. While his tale mirrors common "conversion" narratives, the panel questions its authenticity, noting its alignment with evangelical storytelling tropes. The hosts argue that cyclical indoctrination secures the church's influence across generations, using guilt and fear to sustain membership. They liken "deliverance" services to multi-level marketing schemes, exploiting congregants for profit. Critiques extend to generational curses, exposing their role in trapping believers in cycles of shame, fear, and financial exploitation. The Non-Prophets, Episode 23.46.3 featuring Cynthia McDonald,  Eli Slack and Jimmy Jr.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.

Majority of Christians Confess to Using Porn — And Many Are Comfortable With It, Study FindsFaithwire, By Tré Goins-Phillips, on October 22, 2024https://www.faithwire.com/2024/10/22/majority-of-christians-confess-to-using-porn-and-many-are-comfortable-with-it-study-finds/ This discussion explores the unexpected acceptance and prevalence of pornography use among churchgoing Christians, revealing that 40% of Christian women and 75% of Christian men admit to viewing it. The panel humorously critiques the article from FaithWire, highlighting contradictions in religious perspectives on sexuality and questioning the logic of condemning natural sexual behavior. They dive into the problematic effects of purity culture, pointing out that teachings on “biblical sexual ethics” often enforce shame and guilt around sexuality, which could lead to repression and strained relationships. The speakers emphasize that healthy relationships can include open attitudes toward sexuality, and they reject the notion that watching pornography inherently damages marriages. They suggest that attempts to control natural sexual behaviors through strict religious doctrine may be counterproductive, as these efforts conflict with basic human sexuality. Their discussion extends to absurd scenarios, like a married couple conceiving during a filmed encounter, to underscore the humor in some religious restrictions on sexuality. Finally, the conversation turns toward broader issues, questioning why religious institutions focus so heavily on regulating sexuality rather than allowing individuals to explore their relationships on their own terms. The Non-Prophets, Episode 23.45.4 featuring Phoebe Rose, AJ, Cynthia and Jonathan RoudabushBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.

It's Friday, September 20th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistani Christian mother sentenced to death On Wednesday, a Pakistani Christian mother of four children received the death sentence after a judge convicted her under Pakistan's blasphemy laws, reports Morning Star News. Shagufta Kiran, age 40, was convicted under Section 295-C of Pakistan's widely condemned blasphemy laws for insulting Muhammad, the false prophet of Islam, which carries a mandatory death sentence. She was arrested in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency on July 29, 2021, for allegedly sharing blasphemous content in a WhatsApp group in September 2020. Her husband and two sons were also taken into custody during the raid but were later released. Attorney Rana Hameed said, “The complaint against Kiran was registered by a Muslim named Shiraz Farooqi, who alleged that she had shared content disrespectful of Islam's prophet. However, Kiran has maintained that she has not authored the content and had forwarded it in the WhatsApp group without reading it.” Formerly a nurse, Kiran had joined several interfaith WhatsApp groups, where she proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and defended her Christian faith. One such group, Pure Discussions, was administered by the complainant, Shiraz Farooqi. While the mother is hopeful of a positive outcome from the superior courts, she misses her family terribly. The verdict did not come as a surprise, as 99 percent of those charged under Section 295-C are convicted by trial courts under pressure from Islamists. According to the Center for Social Justice, nearly 3,000 people have been accused of blasphemy in Pakistan since 1987. Specifically, in the Punjab Province alone, 552 Christians are currently detained in prisons. Pakistan ranks seventh on the Open Doors 2024 World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian. Trump objects to Kamala's lies and thanks God for sparing his life twice On the presidential campaign trail, Donald Trump spoke on Wednesday at a rally on Long Island in Uniondale, New York. He took issue with the dishonest claims by Kamala Harris and the liberal media, reports RealClearPolitics.com. TRUMP: “It's time to stop the lies, stop the hoaxes, stop the smears, stop the lawfare of the fake lawsuits against me, and stop claiming your opponents will turn America into a dictatorship. Give me a break, because the fact is that I'm not a threat to democracy, they are. “They're doing things in politics that have never been done before in the history of our country. And worst of all, with their open borders and bad elections, they have made us into a Third World nation, something which nobody thought was even possible. Americans deserve a campaign based on the issues. We try and keep it on the issues.” And, Trump also expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life twice from recent assassination attempts. TRUMP: “God has now spared my life — It must have been. God, thank you. Not once, but twice. There are those that say He did it because Trump is going to turn this state around. He's going to turn this country around. He's going to make America great again.” Pro-abortion Republican Congressional candidate: A gutless wonder Republican Matt Gunderson is hoping to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Mike Levin of California's 49th congressional district. But his strategy is raising eyebrows by campaigning on a promise to keep abortion “safe, legal, and rare,” apparently hoping that his pro-abortion view will help him prevail in America's most liberal state, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Listen. GUNDERSON: “On a woman's right to choose, I'm pro-choice. I believe abortion should be safe, legal and rare. I don't want politicians dictating health care for my daughters. You might disagree, and that's okay. “But I bet there's more that unites us, like lowering housing, grocery, and gas prices, securing the border, and protecting Social Security. We can end the overheated political rhetoric and focus on fixing a broken Washington. I'm Matt Gunderson, and I approved this message.” Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, shifting public opinion and a wave of 10 pro-abortion ballot initiatives have led some in the Republican Party to conclude they must moderate the party's longstanding pro-life stance. Pro-life activists such as Lila Rose, founder of LiveAction, have forcefully challenged that conclusion, but because Trump has vocally sided with the moderation camp throughout his current campaign, other GOP candidates have been given cover to compromise as well. Psalm 119:1-3 says, “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths." Good Samaritan saves trucker from fire And finally, a Virginia man is being hailed a hero after he saw a fire blazing under a tractor-trailer — and immediately took action, reports FaithWire.com. Akeem Dixon was on his way to a job interview this week in Norfolk, Virginia, when he noticed the blaze. DIXON: “I was in a tunnel. Beside me, I see a tractor trailer. And I see under the tractor trailer, I see a fire under the truck.” Recognizing the need to move quickly, he started honking to get the driver's attention, but to no avail. That's when Dixon decided to pull his car in front of the tractor-trailer, according to WVEC-TV. DIXON: “[As] soon as we get inside the tunnel, I just drive right in front of him, put my forward flashers on, and I slowed right down to a complete stop. Then he stopped behind me. So, when I got out of my car, I rushed straight to the truck. And I was, like, ‘Yo, there's a fire underneath your truck!” The driver got out of the truck and Dixon told him to get a fire extinguisher. But it quickly became evident time was running out. Due to the flames, the engine was going to explode at any moment. DIXON: “I tell him to leave the truck, because it's going to blow any minute. Just leave it and come to my car. Let's move to my car, far away from the truck. As soon as we move from the truck and close to my car, at the same time, we hear a boom.” Thankfully, Dixon and the driver remained safe — all thanks to his selfless actions. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, to lay down his life for his friends.” Or, in the case of Akeem Dixon, for a stranger! It's Friday, September 13th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Spanish Evangelicals ask Nicaragua to revoke closure of churches This summer, the Nicaraguan regime, led by President Daniel Ortega, has shut down 1,500 independent Evangelical and Catholic groups, churches, and non-governmental organizations, reports Evangelical Focus. In view of this dire situation, the Spanish Evangelical Alliance made a formal complaint to the Nicaraguan government. In a letter sent to the Nicaraguan consulate in Spain, they wrote, “We ask you most respectfully and firmly to not only stop, but to reverse your harassment and demolition of freedoms in Nicaragua. Although you may not realize it, the first to suffer is the government itself and the country as a whole.” According to Open Doors, Nicaragua is the 30th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian Psalm 9:9 says, “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” ABC's bias revealed during debate Did ABC have its thumb on the scale of fairness during the presidential debate this past Tuesday night in Philadelphia? First, Trump was the only candidate whom David Muir and Linsey Davis, the ABC co-anchors, targeted for multiple follow-up questions.  While CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash chose not to correct any misstatements by the candidates during Trump's debate with Biden in June, the ABC co-anchors instead challenged statements that Trump made about abortion, immigration, the 2020 election, and violent crime, reports the Associated Press. Kamala Harris was not once asked a follow-up question. It seemed as though it were a three-on-one debate instead of a one-on-one debate. During a discussion of abortion, Trump claimed that Democrats supported killing babies after they were born. TRUMP: “Her vice presidential pick says, ‘Abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine.' He also says execution after birth, it's execution, no longer abortion, because the baby is born is okay. And that's not okay with me.” ABC co-anchor Linsey Davis said this in a rebuttal. DAVIS: “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it was born. Madam Vice President, I want to get your response to President Trump.” After years of publicly not admitting to his defeat to Biden in the 2020 election, ABC co-anchor David Muir pointed out that Trump had recently, on three separate occasions, seemingly conceded he had lost. Trump replied that he had been sarcastic in making those recent remarks. Muir offered this rebuttal. MUIR: “I did watch all of these pieces of video. I didn't detect the sarcasm. ‘Lost by whisker.' ‘We didn't quite make it.' And we should just point out here as clarification, and you know this, you and your allies, 60 cases in front of many judges, many of them Republican. ” TRUMP: “No judge looked at it. Many judges said we didn't have standing. That's the other thing. They said we didn't have standing. A technicality. Can you imagine a system where a person in an election doesn't have standing? The President of the United States doesn't have standing? That's how we lost. If you look at the facts, and I'd love to have you do a special on it. I'll show you Georgia, and I'll show you Wisconsin, and I'll show you Pennsylvania. “We have so many facts and statistics, but you know what? That doesn't matter, because we have to solve the problem that we have right now. That's old news. And the problem that we have right now is we have a nation in decline, and they have put it into decline. We have a nation that is dying, David.” MUIR: “Mr. President, thank you. Vice President Harris, you heard the President there tonight. He said he didn't say that he lost by a whisker. So, he still believes he did not lose the election that was won by President Biden and yourself. But I do want to ask you about something that's come up in the last couple of days. Mr. President, thank you. Vice President Harris.” After Trump claimed that crime had gone up during the Biden administration because of their open border policy which let in criminals, Muir claimed that violent crime had gone down in America. Listen. TRUMP: “Millions of people let in. All over the world crime is down. All over the world, except here, crime here is up and through the roof, despite their fraudulent statements that they made. Crime in this country is through the roof. We have a new form of crime. It's called ‘migrant crime,' and it's happening at levels that nobody thought possible.” MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI, says overall, violent crime is actually coming down in this country.” TRUMP: “Excuse me, the FBI defraud. They were defrauding statements. They didn't include the worst cities. They didn't include the cities with the worst crime. It was a fraud, just like their number of 818,000 jobs that they said they created turned out to be a fraud.” MUIR: “President Trump, thank you. I'll let you respond. Vice President Harris.” HARRIS: “Well, I…” After Trump repeated a report that illegal immigrants were killing and eating pets in Springfield, Ohio, David Muir weighed in once again. MUIR: “Want to clarify here. You bring up Springfield, Ohio, and ABC News did reach out to the city manager there. He told us there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” TRUMP:  “Well, I've seen people on television.” MUIR: “Let me just say here.” TRUMP: “The people on television saying my dog was taken and used for food. So, maybe he said that. And maybe that's a good thing to say for a city manager.” MUIR: “I'm not taking this from television.” TRUMP: “But people on television said my pets were eaten by the people that went there.” MUIR: “Again, the Springfield city manager says there's no evidence of that.” TRUMP: “We'll find out.” MUIR: “Vice President, I'll let you respond to the rest of what you've heard.” Trump turns down another debate Not surprisingly, on Thursday, former President Donald Trump said he would not participate in another election debate against his rival Vice President Kamala Harris, reports NewsMax. After participating in a debate against President Joe Biden in June and Harris this past Tuesday, he wrote this on Truth Social: "There will be no third debate!" He also said that Kamala “and Crooked Joe have destroyed our country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. ... Kamala should focus on what she should have done during the last almost four-year period." Alistair Begg announces plans to retire Author and pastor Alistair Begg has announced plans to retire as the senior pastor of Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio, on September14, 2025, five decades after entering into the ministry, reports The Christian Post. The voice behind the radio teaching ministry Truth for Life, the 72-year-old Scottish pastor has served as Parkside Church's senior pastor since 1983. Begg said, "It is not precipitous. It's not driven by anything of which I am personally aware, other than my ambition to pass the baton safely into the hands of my successor." Earlier this year, Begg sparked controversy after refusing to repent for comments he made in a 2023 podcast in which he advised a grandmother to attend her grandson's marriage to a trans-identified person as an act of love. ‘CHiPs' star Erik Estrada works undercover to arrest child sexual predators And finally, actor Erik Estrada is known for his many decades starring in TV shows and movies, but the “CHiPs” star has also forged a path as a law enforcement official who works undercover to stop child sex predators, reports FaithWire.com. Estrada, age 75, recently told Fox News about his journey from Hollywood into policing. ESTRADA: “I got exposed to child internet pornography by the sheriff and his task force. They call themselves the Blue Ridge Thunder Task Force. “I got so upset when I saw what I saw because my daughter was seven at the time. It really upset me, and then I got angry. Made me mad.” Today, he works with law enforcement where he entraps deviants by using fake identities to try and snag them before they can hurt kids. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, September 13th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Hindu extremists strangle pastor's son to death In the middle of the night on July 7th, Hindu extremists broke into the home of Pastor Sushil Kumar in India's Bihar State and killed his teenage son as he slept, reports International Christian Concern. Tragically, as Nilesh Kumar slept, the attackers broke his hands and strangled him to death. They then dragged the body of the pastor's only son outside and hung it from a nearby bamboo tree.    For years now, the Hindu extremists had been harassing the Kumar family, verbally abusing and pressuring them to abandon their faith in Christ. After Pastor Kumar filed several complaints with the police, members of local high-caste communities threatened to kill his son.   Although Christians are often attacked and even killed for their faith in India, such attacks are rare in the Bihar State. According to Open Doors, India is the 11th most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Biden's latest gaffe: Refers to Zelensky as Putin President Joe Biden drew gasps Thursday evening when he introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin” — confusing him with the Russian tyrant whose forces have invaded Ukraine for the past two-and-a-half years, reports the New York Post. World leaders onstage appeared unsure of whether to clap to welcome Zelensky or wait for Biden to correct himself, which he did. BIDEN: (Smattering of applause)  “President Putin? We're going to beat President Putin. President Zelensky. I'm so focused on beating Putin, we've got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President.” ZELENSKY: “I'm better!” Democrat Senator urges Biden to withdraw In light of Biden's obvious mental decline, Colorado Democrat Senator Michael Bennet is one of the first senators to publicly urge the President to withdraw from the 2024 election, reports RealClearPolitics.com. BENNET: “If things stay as they are, it's likely that Donald Trump will win the election and we will lose the Senate and lose the House." Actor George Clooney tells Biden to step aside Actor George Clooney wrote a devastating column in the New York Times yesterday.  The headline read, “I love Joe Biden, but we need a new nominee.” He wrote, “It's devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe Biden of 2010. He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.” To his shame, George Clooney and Julia Roberts were front and center at a Hollywood fundraiser that raised $30 million to help Biden and the Democrats in their reelection campaign. Australia's Sky News host Liz Storer didn't buy Clooney's claim that he just now realized how mentally unfit for the presidency Joe Biden truly is. STORER: “What a fraud! We're supposed to believe, that, all of a sudden, just over the last three weeks, George Clooney has been like, ‘Wait a minute!' “Where have you been the last four years while this poor, old man has slurred and stumbled his way through the most prestigious and important high office in the world? I don't buy for a second he's just come to his senses and been like, ‘Well actually, three weeks after raising $30 million for the Dems, I have to dis-endorse him now. I just can't go through with it.' “He always knew! They all always knew. The mainstream media, the guy's press secretary, everyone who works for him, his friends and family – they all knew the President has been struggling for a very long time. So, this pretending, ‘I've just had my come-to-Jesus moment.' Great act, George Clooney! That's what you do for a living.” Biden continues to vilify pro-lifers as extremists Military officials under the Biden administration continue to teach that their peaceful political opponents are violent extremists, according to a report about a terrorism presentation given to U.S. Army members at Fort Liberty, North Carolina (previously known as Fort Bragg), reports LifeSiteNews.com. Sam Shoemate, an independent journalist, tweeted on Wednesday evening a photograph of a slide he said was shown during an anti-terrorism briefing, right after one about the Islamist terror group ISIS. The slide names the pro-life groups National Right to Life Committee and Operation Rescue as “terrorist groups,” characterized by their opposition to abortion and the 1973 Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade. Oddly enough, the Biden officials spelled the famous Supreme Court case client as R-O-W instead of R-O-E.   While the power point slide lists various types of peaceful activism pro-life groups typically practice include sidewalk counseling, Life Chains, and picketing, it also cites “Bombing of Clinics” and “Attempted Murders” which are not only highly rare and have always ben overwhelmingly condemned by mainstream pro-life activists. Truth be told, in recent years, pro-abortion violence has been far more common than violence from those who want to end abortion, as admitted by FBI Director Christopher Wray in November 2022. Arkansas Secretary of State rejects pro-abortion ballot initiative On Wednesday, the Arkansas secretary of state rejected an effort to place a constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion on the November ballot, saying organizers failed to submit some required paperwork with its signatures, reports NBC News. Isaiah 64:8 says, “But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” ‘God's Not Dead' returns with new sequel urging Christians to vote And finally, with just a $1.5 million budget, the movie “God's Not Dead” made $60 million in profit which sent a clear message to Tinseltown that it had ignored the Christian audience hungry for uplifting and positive messages. A decade later, producers are gearing up for the fifth installment of the film franchise. The new movie entitled “God's Not Dead: In God We Trust,” hits theaters nationwide Sept. 12 and “explores the intersection of faith, politics, and our civic duty,” reports FaithWire.com. RONALD REAGAN: “If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” MOVIE PASTOR: “Now more than ever, Christians must realize that we are being called to deliver hope to a country that's feeling hopeless. Faith begins where your comfort zone ends. We need to step out into that faith.” Coming at a time of cultural chaos — a time when people fear cancellation and other social ills — “God's Not Dead: In God We Trust” tackles the importance of standing up for one's beliefs and taking action to have a positive impact. Proverbs 29:2 states, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.” Watch the trailer for “God's Not Dead: In God We Trust” through a link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, June 24th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Catholic man imprisoned for accidentally stepping on Quran Since April 27th, a Catholic man has been jailed under blasphemy against Islam charges in Lahore, Pakistan for inadvertently stepping out of his rickshaw onto some papers said to be pages of the Quran, reports Morning Star News. Dennis Albert, a 35-year-old rickshaw driver, was booked under one section of Pakistan's Muslim blasphemy laws that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and another law that mandates life in prison if the Quran has been defiled. The Lahore police arrested him on the complaint of Mubeen Ilyas, a Muslim passerby who alleged he saw Albert standing on some pages barefoot near a rickshaw, and that after closely looking at them, he found that they were Islamic scriptures. According to Open Doors, Pakistan is the 7th most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Presidential debate set for Thursday night President Joe Biden is hunkered down with aides at Camp David for several days to get ready to debate rival Donald Trump, who is eschewing traditional preparation and instead holding informal policy discussions between campaign stops, report Reuters. The face-off in Atlanta, at 9:00 p.m. ET this Thursday will be the earliest presidential debate in modern U.S. history and a critical event for both candidates. Biden, 81, and former president Trump, 78, are neck-and-neck in national opinion polls, with a considerable slice of the electorate still undecided five months before the November 5th vote. Washington Gov. stockpiles Abortion Kill Pill if Trump is re-elected In preparation for “The resistance to a new Trump administration,” Washington's Democratic Governor Jay Inslee is stockpiling Abortion Kill Pills, reports ThePostMillennial.com. After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against a challenge to Biden's Food and Drug Administration which allowed the Abortion Kill Pill to be sent through the mail without an in-person doctor consultation, leaders of the Democratic Party are preparing in case a new Trump administration rescinds the approval or uses the 1873 Comstock Act to criminalize mailing the drug across state lines. According to a New York Times article, Governor Inslee's stockpile of the Abortion Kill Pill is locked away in a state warehouse.  Inslee is one of at least five Democratic governors who have established stockpiles of Mifepristone. The others are the governors of California, Massachusetts, New York, and Oregon. Tennessee governor calls for 30 days of prayer and fasting in July In contrast to the radical leftist antics of the Washington Democratic State Governor, Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee made a great decision. In what has been described as an “historic gesture,” Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting beginning July 1 in the Volunteer State. Tennessee House Joint Resolution 0803 asks the people of the state “to seek God's hand of mercy and healing on Tennessee.” A letter signed by Tennessee state Senator Mark Pody and Representative Monty Fritts accompanying the resolution invites “those who are physically able and spiritually inclined to do so to join in a 30-day season of prayer and intermittent fasting for the month of July as a means of humbling ourselves to receive God's grace, mercy, and blessing in Tennessee and in our Nation.” The language of the legislators is reminiscent of 2 Chronicles 7:14 in which God says, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Couple discovers abandoned newborn A Katy, Texas couple was shocked on Saturday, June 15th, while out for a family walk, to discover an abandoned newborn baby girl with her umbilical cord still attached, reports FaithWire.com. Daniela Fedele told KHOU-TV that she and her husband noticed a towel on the ground, as her 3-year-old biked toward it, and immediately realized a baby was wrapped inside. FEDELE: “I noticed two little feet moving. My husband was right behind me with the dogs, and I yelled to my husband. ‘A baby, a baby!' And then my husband [was] like, ‘Call 911!' And that's what we did.” They moved the baby out of the heat and into a shaded area while waiting for police. FEDELE: “Once my husband went ahead and picked up the baby, he found the nearest tree right there at that house down the street. He found a little shade.” Fedele said she's in shock over the ordeal, and is struggling to understand why someone would leave the child. FEDELE: “This image has been going on through my head so many times. How can you do that? I was shocked. I was mad. I was upset.” Ultimately, Fedele said she's grateful her family went for a walk and discovered the baby. FEDELE: “I don't know [what] made us go for a walk this morning. We usually do, but sometimes, you know, you just don't want to do it, things happen. But, this morning, we're, like, ‘No let's go ahead and get out.'” I know Who made them go for a walk.  The answer is clear. Almighty God Himself, in His compassionate providence, prompted them to go on that walk. Psalm 115:3 says, “Our God is in Heaven; He does whatever pleases Him.” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the news of the baby's discovery. GONZALEZ: “The baby was a newborn. Still had fresh placenta on the baby. So, it was freshly born this morning. I praised her.  I said, ‘You were in the right place at the right time.' The two witnesses that were thankfully walking on the trail, with their child and their dogs, were blessing.” According to a video taken from a neighbor's Ring camera on their doorbell, just two minutes before Danielle Fidele and her husband discovered the helpless baby girl, a young, slim Hispanic or White male with a fair complexion and black hair placed the baby, wrapped in the blanket on the ground and then ran away. According to the Houston Chronicle, the man, if identified, could face child abandonment charges. When KHOU-TV interviewed Brittney Barnes, a neighbor, she said this. BARNES: “It's still a little disheartening that the baby got left. It's hot. Somebody must have been going through something to have left their child there. But to find out that the baby was okay was a reliever.” The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the baby was found in good condition and will remain hospitalized as they try to locate her family. Fedele urged any young couple who feel trapped by a new baby to consider better options. FEDELE: “You can drop it off at a fire station, a police station, a hospital. But don't leave the baby!” Indeed, under the Baby Moses law, named after the baby rescued from the floating basket in the Nile River in Exodus 2:10, anyone who feels they are unable to care for a newborn younger than 60 days can drop off the child at a Safe Haven and avoid prosecution. As Daniela Fedele pointed out, Safe Havens include places like hospitals or fire stations. But the baby must be handed to an employee at that Safe Haven.  11 Worldview listeners donated $2,020 And finally, toward our $63,000 goal by this past Saturday, June 22nd – the three-week mark of our month-long fundraiser, 11 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate to help fund our 6-member team for another fiscal year. It's Friday, June 14th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus North Korea sent 1,400 helium balloons with manure and trash to South Korea South Korean Christian ministries have sent GPS-guided balloons carrying pages of Scripture and USB devices featuring the Bible into North Korea where owning a Bible can be punishable by execution. In retaliation for what it calls “anti-North Korean propaganda,” North Korea, led by the dictator Kim Jong Un, sent more than 1,400 helium balloons filled with trash and manure into South Korea, reports International Christian Concern. The South Korean military has intercepted many of the balloons.  In response to the helium balloon-delivered manure and trash, South Korean officials resumed loudspeaker broadcasts at specific border areas. Subsequently, Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, warned South Korea that these loudspeaker broadcasts, leaflets, and USB devices could soon provoke a “crisis of confrontation” between the two nations.   She  added that the manure and trash balloons were “sincere presents” sent to the “goblins of liberal democracy who are crying for the guarantee of freedom of expression.” Join me and specifically pray Ezekial 36:26 for Kim Jong Un and his sister, Kim Yo Jong, who are spiritually lost.  The verse describes how God “will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” According to Open Doors, North Korea is the world's most dangerous country in which to be a Christian. Trans World Radio, which broadcasts into North Korea from South Korea, received an email from a North Korean listener who said, “Without your programs, love and dedication, we would not have access to the Gospel of our Father in Heaven and we would be lost." Supreme Court allows Abortion Kill Pill to be sent through mail Yesterday, the Supreme Court made a terrible decision. It ruled against pro-life doctors and others who challenged the Food and Drug Administration's decision to loosen restrictions on the distribution of the Abortion Kill Pill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In the unanimous decision in the case titled FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote, “The plaintiffs lack standing to sue to stop the law. Specifically, the FDA's regulations apply to doctors prescribing mifepristone and to pregnant women taking mifepristone. But the plaintiff doctors and medical associations do not prescribe or use mifepristone.” The Food and Drug Administration decided to make chemical abortion as widely available as possible as part of the Biden-Harris pro-abortion agenda. Dr. Ingrid Skop, the Medical Director of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, previously said, “The FDA's decision to weaken commonsense safeguards, removing doctors from the process, shows they prioritize ending unborn life over the health and safety of women.” In addition to directly ending an innocent human life, abortion drugs are also dangerous for women. Side effects and complications that accompany chemical abortions are: pain, possibly severe heavy and/or prolonged bleeding for multiple weeks fever infection incomplete abortion (requiring surgical follow-up) nausea and vomiting diarrhea feeling dizzy or having a headache short to lasting hot flashes hemorrhage blood clots undetected ectopic pregnancy, which is life-threatening and permanent infertility for an Rh-negative mother. God sent two rescuers to save father and 2 boys in Colorado River A week ago Thursday, when the inflatable kayak a father and his two young sons were using in the Colorado River flipped over in a rapid, the family became scattered in raging waters, reported KSL-TV. Providentially, Eric Odenthal saw the terrifying crisis unfold. ODENTHAL: “I just seen the kids floating downstream, struggling.” Indeed, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, “The 10-year-old was reportedly wearing a belt-pack [personal flotation device] or PFD  that inflated with a C02 cartridge. It flipped the boy over so he was face down in the water. And the 8-year-old was wearing a [life preserver] that was too big and failed to keep his head above water.” Odenthal called out to his friend, Gaar Lausman, who jumped on his paddleboard. ODENTHAL: “You need to go right now. This is really important. Get those kids out of the water.” But, while the kids were scooped up, the dad, who had not been wearing a life jacket at all, was further away and barely able to keep above water, reports FaithWire.com. ODENTHAL: “He's getting pulled by eddies. His face is barely above water.” Just when it seemed all hope was lost, as the father sunk down below the water's surface, God sent along a second Good Samaritan. A man named Daniel Wright suddenly emerged on a jet ski. ODENTHAL: “It was literally a miracle this guy showed up.” According to the Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, Wright initially passed by the father because he didn't see him. WRIGHT: “Initially, I thought it was just kind of debris in the water.” It wasn't until the man on the paddleboard got his attention that he turned around and found him. For his part, Wright scrambled to reach the father, who, at that point was reaching his hand up out of the water in a final attempt at being rescued. WRIGHT: “He realized that was it. That was what he had left was reaching out to me.  I had to help him. I had to get him.” Once he got him safely to shore, Wright described what happened next. WRIGHT:  “I gave him a hug and I embraced him, you know, when I got him out of the water because it was an emotional moment.” Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue concluded its post by encouraging people to wear “properly-fitted, and properly-worn” safety gear. As for Wright, he credited the Lord for his ability to be present and help out. WRIGHT:  “I'm just really thankful and I really just think God just had me right there at the right time.” No doubt, he echoes the sentiment of Psalm 9:1. “I will give thanks to You, LORD, with all my heart. I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.” Virginia Worldview listener shares why he gave $500 Last night, I called Danny in Abingdon, Virginia, a Worldview listener who donated $500 to help keep this newscast on the air. He explained what he appreciates. DANNY: “I just like that you all provide an option for news that is filtered through a Biblical lens so that you're reporting news and how it relates to believers in Christ, and how the Bible would speak to the news of the day. I think y'all might be the only option, that I know of, that provides that for believers. And I appreciate that and I want to support that and hope that that continues.” Danny especially likes the fact that we cite two relevant Bible verses connected to two of our weekday stories. DANNY: “When I see that Bible verses are referenced in some of the stories, it just helps me be mindful of the Biblical worldview is the truth, and that we need to constantly be bringing the stories and news reports back to the truth which is in the Holy Scriptures.” He challenged other listeners to join him and make an online donation through our website TheWorldview.com. DANNY: “I would just challenge those that value The Worldview in 5 Minutes, who support this because I think this is one of the only options that Christians have to get news from a Biblical worldview. We need to support that because it's important and there's not many other options, if any at all out there. Very valuable for believers to have that option.” 11 Worldview listeners gave $1,807 Toward our $57,100 mid-point goal by 5:00pm Central on Saturday, June 15th to fund the 6-member Worldview team for another year, 11 Worldview listeners made a donation yesterday online. Those 11 donors gave $1,807. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (sound effect of drum roll) $28,635 (audience cheering) By 5:00pm Central on Saturday night, June 15th, we need to raise $28,465 in order to hit our mid-point goal.  In an audience this size -- with tens of thousands who listen through the 125 radio stations which now carry us as well as through our website and the Generations app, I'm confident that 20 Worldview listeners could each pledge $100 per month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200.  Those 20 pledges would add up to $24,000.  The remaining $4,465 could be raised through smaller one-time gifts or smaller monthly pledges. It's Monday, May 20th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Where is Chinese Christian blogger Zhang Zhan? Zhang Zhan, a 40-year-old Chinese Christian blogger, journalist, activist, and former human rights lawyer, was scheduled to be released on May 13 after four years in Shanghai's Women Prison, reports The Associated Press. She was imprisoned in May 2020 after getting convicted of reporting on the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China. The Free Zhang Zhan campaign issued a press release on May 13 stating that there was no confirmation of her release from prison. Plus, Zhang's family had been under immense pressure from Chinese officials not to give any media interviews about her case. The press release added, “We are left wondering where she is, how she is doing physically and mentally, what's happened to her family, and what the future holds for her. … It is totally unacceptable that the Chinese government subject many human rights defenders and their families to this kind of cruelty. Even after their release from prison, they are still deprived of their basic rights.” Zhang's case highlights the Chinese government's arbitrary arrests of Christians, journalists, and human rights lawyers who challenge the Communist government's control and policies. By contrast, Psalm 82:3 describes the Biblical obligation of the civil magistrates. “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” Please write a polite email or letter to Xie Feng, the Chinese ambassador to America, asking for information on Zhang Zhan's whereabouts. Send it to 3505 International Place, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008. Trump demands drug test of Biden before debate Appearing at the Minnesota Republican Party's Lincoln Reagan Dinner last Friday, former President Donald Trump said he wants President Joe Biden to be drug-tested before their first debate on Thursday, June 27th, reports The Hill.com. TRUMP: “I'm gonna demand a drug test too, by the way. (cheers) I don't want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite. (laughter) I said, ‘Is that Joe up there?' (laughter)  And by the end of the evening, he was exhausted, right? No, we're going to demand a drug test.” Giuliani served legal notice of Arizona indictment at 80th birthday Former New York City mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani got more than cake and presents for his 80th birthday bash in Palm Beach, Florida. He was also served a legal notice of his Arizona indictment for allegedly being involved in a plot to overturn the 2020 election in favor of ex-President Donald Trump, reports the New York Post. Around 11:00pm, after most of the 200 birthday guests -- including Trump advisors Roger Stone and Steve Bannon -- were gone, two officials from Democratic Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes' office delivered the papers. Some of the party stragglers began screaming – including one woman who cried as Giuliani was handed the papers. Giuliani was the last of the 18 pro-Trump defendants to be served in the indictment returned by a grand jury last month. They're accused of partaking in a failed bid to award Arizona's 11 presidential electoral votes to Trump. Woman prayed while dangling from bridge in semi truck And finally, newly released dashcam footage of an accident that left a massive semitruck dangling from a bridge earlier this year is going viral. The shocking footage of the Kentucky four-vehicle crash, which unfolded Friday, March 1 on the Clark Memorial Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky, is absolutely terrifying, reports FaithWire.com. Trevor Branham, age 33, lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the wrong lanes, hit another car, then struck the semitruck in question. Sydney Thomas, age 26, was driving that semitruck, which was sent off the bridge and dangling 100 feet above the Ohio River. She described what happened to WHAS-TV. THOMAS: “He crossed over into the northbound lane and then he hit me. And once he hit me, he took my suspension out. It didn't matter which way I turned the wheel, the truck was going to go [in] whatever direction it wanted to go in. I felt myself veering off to the left. And then, I saw myself going over the railing and I was, like, ‘Well, this is it!' “When I went through the railing, I was just thinking, ‘Wow! This is crazy to die like this.'  I really thought that I was about to die. I can try to hurry up and take the seatbelt off and jump out of the truck if I have enough time to. I was thinking this: when I felt myself going over I'm like, ‘I'm going to have to jump.' I can't swim either. I started thinking that and then it stopped. And once it stopped, I just looked down and I saw the river. If this truck falls, I'm gonna have to jump out because, if not -- the Ohio River is 128 feet deep. Because if I don't, I'm gonna be at the bottom of the river because that truck was full!” Providentially, Thomas wasn't injured in the astonishing accident. She didn't hesitate to pray. THOMAS: “I was praying, I was crying, and I was trying to just stay calm and just hope and pray that they would be able to get me out -- because I didn't think they would be able to. If I start freaking out and screaming and moving around, the truck might fall into the river.” She confessed, “Sometimes you pray, and I'm guilty of this: I pray, and I don't think God is listening. But He was that day!” God kept that semi-truck from falling into the water for 40 minutes until firefighters were able to use a crane to lift Louisville firefighter Bryce Carden down to reach her. Amazingly, he appeared at her window mid-air, latched to a harness, and hanging from the crane. He asked if he could pray with her – and the two proceeded to invoke the Lord. CARDEN: “She was just praying. She was praying a lot. And I prayed with her. ‘Thank God!'  That's what she kept saying, ‘Thank God!' And I told her, I said, ‘Just take a deep breath, and then here's what I need you to do' -- because I needed her to assist and move in certain ways to be able to get the harness on right.” Though Sydney Thomas has no plans of traveling ever again on the Clark Memorial Bridge, she credited God for saving her. THOMAS: “God kept me here for a reason because I really shouldn't be here, but I am. So, I'm just, you know, giving Him all the honor because stuff like that don't happen every day.” Psalm 28:7 says, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” As for Branham, the driver who caused the accident, he was arrested in March and charged with four counts of wanton endangerment and one count of operating on a suspended license. The truck driver's father, Marc Thomas, said that he too believes the Lord was watching over her. He said, “That [rescue] was nothing but God displaying Himself to me!” Check out the amazing video which we have linked in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Friday, May 17th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims kill 11 Christians in Congo, Africa At about 8 p.m. on Monday, May 13, members of the Allied Democratic Forces carried out a brutal attack in the Ituri Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Islamic extremist group killed 11 Christians, kidnapped several others, and set houses on fire, reports International Christian Concern. A survivor said, “This horrific attack has left a trail of devastation and despair, with the loss of life and destruction of property reaching catastrophic proportions.” German church holds blasphemous Taylor Swift-themed service An historic German church in Heidelberg held a blasphemous Taylor Swift-themed worship service on Sunday, reports Christian Headlines. According to the news website Deutsche Welle, The Church of the Holy Spirit, a well-known church in Heidelberg that meets in a 600-year-old building, put on a service titled "Anti-Hero — Taylor Swift Church Service" in an effort to draw young people into the church. More than 1,200 were in attendance, most of them young women, for the service. Pastor Christof Ellsiepen said, "The Church of the Holy Spirit has always been a place of encounter and exchange. That's why a pop-music religious service fits so perfectly. With it, we are giving space to the questions and issues that occupy the younger generation." The Christian Post reports that the pastor also said that the service focused on the seemingly Christian themes in Swift's music to address contested topics including women's rights, racism, and gender equality. However, Evangelical leaders have rightly expressed profound concern about Swift's latest album, entitled The Tortured Poets Department, that mocks God and Christians alike. Sadly, Pastor Vincenzo Petracca was tone deaf, claiming "Theologically speaking, [Taylor Swift] points to the justness of God.” A pro-homosexual rainbow banner behind the church's musicians stated that the church welcomes "all sizes, all [colors], all cultures, all sexes, all beliefs, all religions, all ages, all types, all people." Last time I checked, there were only two sexes. Indeed, in Mark 10:6, Jesus said, "From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female." Title IX rules threaten women's safety and fairness The Biden administration would have Americans believe that feelings trump biological reality by prioritizing someone's self-ascribed “gender identity” over their sex, explains Alliance Defending Freedom. But denying the truth that God made us male and female—different, yet equal—has harmful consequences. Adaleia is a 15-year-old athlete from West Virginia, and she knows this all too well. Because she was forced to compete against a male student who identifies as a female, she lost her spot to compete in a conference championship meet, reports Fox News. But that's not all. She had to change in the girls' locker room in the presence of the male athlete while she endured the vulgar, sexual harassment that the student directed toward her. Adaleia was made to suffer humiliation and indignity that no one should have to endure. But, according to the Biden administration's recent attempt to rewrite Title IX, women and girls must surrender their rights to safety, privacy, and fairness in places of education. And faculty and students must embrace lies by treating children as the opposite sex—boys as girls, and girls as boys. Anti-Israel Duke protestors walk out of Seinfeld's graduation speech Dozens of students walked out of Duke University's commencement ceremony this past Sunday because of their objection to the guest speaker, comedian Jerry Seinfeld, a Jew who has been supportive of Israel, reports The Guardian. Figures in robes and caps, some waving Palestinian flags, filed out of crowds of graduates assembled on the grass in the North Carolina university's football stadium. STUDENT PROTESTORS: (audio of booing Seinfeld) Others shouted “Jerry! Jerry!” as the actor received an honorary degree. STUDENTS: “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” To his credit, in his graduation speech, Seinfeld underscored the importance of having an ethical framework in which to live. SEINFELD:  “What I like is we're smart enough to invent AI, dumb enough to need it, and still so stupid we can't figure out if we did the right thing.” And he offered this analysis. SEINFELD: “We're embarrassed about things we should be proud of and proud of things we should be embarrassed about.” NFL player vs. President Biden And finally, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is facing the wrath of the National Football League. He recently delivered a commencement address at Benedictine College, a private Catholic school in Kansas.  He affirmed the vocation of his wife as homemaker and took issue with homosexuality, reports FaithWire.com. Plus, he challenged President Joe Biden, a self-professed Catholic, who supports abortion. BUTKER: “Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but, at the same time, is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I'm sure, to many people, it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.” By contrast, Exodus 18:21 describes civil magistrates as “able men who fear God, men of truth.” In response, the official Twitter account of the city of Kansas City doxed his personal information, revealing the city where he lives, and now he's facing a raging and seething mob of woke activists, reports the New York Post. Shockingly, 100,000 people have signed a petition calling for Butker to be fired. The petition declares,  “We call upon the Kansas City Chiefs management to dismiss Harrison Butker immediately for his inappropriate conduct.” Jonathan Beane of the NFL said, “Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.” Christian talk show host Todd Starnes said, “The NFL has an interesting definition of the word ‘inclusive.' Their definition does not include players who are pro-life, pro-family, or pro-Catholic. And, if the NFL is so inclusive, why aren't there any female linebackers or quarterbacks in the league?” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, May 17th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Friday, May 10th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims attacked praying Catholic students On Sunday, May 5th, two young women were slightly wounded when a mob of Muslims assaulted a group of 15 Catholic students who were praying at a rented house in Banten Province, on the Indonesian island of Java, reports Morning Star News. Enraged at the Catholic group praying in a home rather than in a church building, the local neighborhood head incited area Muslims to break up the meeting and injure the two female students in a suburb of Jakarta at about 7:30 p.m. Some of the assailants were reportedly armed with long machetes, sickles, knives, and blocks. One of the young women suffered a slight wound near her nose while another sustained a minor wound in the stomach, in spite of efforts by some local Muslims to protect them. The conflict began when the leader, identified as Diding, peeped into the house where the students were praying, and then intruded in, confronting the students for prayer, and ultimately dispersing them. Chicago Teachers Union demanding abortion coverage, gender-neutral bathrooms The Chicago Teachers Union is demanding $50 billion in its contract negotiations to pay for a 9% wage increase, abortions, illegal immigrant services and "gender-neutral bathrooms" for every school district, according to leaked documents, reports The Christian Post. Earlier this year, local news outlet WLS reported that Chicago teachers requested $2,000 for each of the 5,000 illegal immigrant students recently enrolled in the district, including more bilingual teachers and full tuition coverage for teachers to obtain a bilingual certificate. The list of demands also included a series of sexual perversion provisions, with the Chicago Teachers Union calling for every school in the district to have at least one "gender-neutral restroom" and annual homosexual/transgender training for educators. No wonder the number of homeschooled children continues to skyrocket. Student newspaper: "Hitler's got some good ideas." The student newspaper at McClatchy High School in Sacramento, California is facing a big time controversy. The Prospector student newspaper published an anonymous quote in the most recent edition praising Adolf Hitler.  A student said, “Hitler's got some good ideas.” It was part of a story about “weird things” overheard in the school's hallways, reports CBS News. The student staff later posted a statement saying the quote did not reflect their ideals or beliefs. But they were glad it sparked a conversation on how students choose their words. The principal fired off a message to families saying the newspaper's actions were “deeply offensive.” And the newspaper's faculty adviser has been placed on paid leave, which angered journalists across the state. Steve O'Donoghue, director of the California Scholastic Journalism Initiative, said, “They have the right to print it. They're not advocating for it, they're just quoting what a student said.” Christian talk show host Todd Starnes wrote, “It's worth noting that a recent survey showed that 63 percent of Millennials and Generation Z did not know that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. That's what happens when public schools whitewash history. The kids are ignorant of great atrocities in world history and the next thing you know – the McClatchy High School student newspaper is singing Hitler's praises.” Ultra-processed food leads to weight gain, heart issues, & depression Research published in The British Medical Journal shows that eating a lot of ultra-processed foods such as sugary cereals, frozen meals, and sodas has been linked to poor mental health and a greater risk of dying from heart issues, reports The Telegraph. Ultra-processed foods are usually higher in fat, sugar and salt and contain chemicals, colorings, sweeteners and preservatives that extend shelf life. And thanks to Dr. Chris van Tulleken, author of the bestselling book Ultra-Processed People: The Science Behind Food That Isn't Food, it's a term now popping up everywhere. Dr. van Tulleken explains that ultra-processed foods are not only “high-fat, high-salt and high-sugar, but these ingredients have been combined into industrial products with exotic additives, which can't really be described as food. They're ultra-processed foods, a set of edible substances that are addictive for many and which are now linked to weight gain, early death and, yes – depression.” In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, the Apostle Paul asked, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” Hero saves 11-month-old baby from blazing fire And finally, an Ohio man is being hailed a hero after risking his life to save an 11-month-old baby trapped inside a burning home, reports FaithWire.com. John Stickovich, age 62, was on his way to work at the time and jumped out of the car after he saw smoke billowing out from a house. STICKOVICH: “The mother was sitting on the tree lawn with her one baby.  I asked her if she was all right and she said, ‘My baby is still in the house.'” He told WJW-TV that he repeatedly went inside the house to try to find the baby in the haze of smoke and fire. Emergency workers were not yet on the scene, so he acted fast. He crawled through an open door into the kitchen and started searching for the child. At first, Stickovich couldn't find the baby, so he went back outside to ask the mother for guidance. STICKOVICH: “Came back out, asked her where the baby way. She told me: ‘Next to the kitchen, by the baby gate.'” Then, he bravely entered the inferno once again. STICKOVICH: “It was getting so bad in there, I was getting ready to leave actually. And then the baby cried or made a sound. You know, I'm thinking to myself: ‘The baby is right here.” So, I just lurched forward and my arm went across his leg, I grabbed him by the leg, and we were both out.” Firefighters, who said the home was fully engulfed in the inferno by the time they arrived, are now dubbing Stickovich a hero and crediting him for saving the baby's life. The man was simply grateful he was able to assist. STICKOVICH: “I feel wonderful that I could save the baby. That mother doesn't have to mourn her baby. That baby gets to live today. I mean I would do it for anybody — it doesn't matter. And I would hope that somebody would do it for me.” John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Or, in this case, for a complete stranger who happens to be 11 months old. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Iran attacked Israel Early Sunday, Iran attacked Israel from within Iran, and from proxies inside Iraq, Syria, and Southern Lebanon, reports the Associated Press.  This was in response to a strike on an Iranian consular building in Syria earlier this month which killed two Iranian generals which has been widely blamed on Israel. On Sunday morning, Israeli Defense Forces Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said that 99% of the aerial threats were shot down, which he said was a strategic achievement, reports the Jerusalem Post. In a separate briefing, Avi Hyman, Israel's National Public Diplomacy Directorate, said this. HYMAN: “Iran has been pulling the strings since October 7 through Hamas and there are other proxies. Now, they have decided to take off their mask and act directly against us. “Last night, Iran initiated a severe and unprecedented attack, launching 180 suicide drones, 120 ballistic missiles, 30 cruise missiles. All was sent by the genocidal tyrants of Tehran with the explicit intents of killing Israeli men, women, and children. Thankfully, 99% were intercepted.” However, a small number of the dozens of ground-to-ground Iranian missiles struck Israel, wounding a girl and causing light damage to a military installation in the south. President Joe Biden urged Israel to use caution in any response to Iran's unprecedented attack, reports the Wall Street Journal. He pressed allies Sunday for a united diplomatic front in a bid to stop the hostilities from spiraling into open warfare that could engulf the Middle East and entangle the U.S. Biden pressures Guatemala into pulling out of pro-life declaration Republican senators are urging Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo to stand firm in the face of the Biden administration's efforts to pressure him to withdraw support from a multinational declaration affirming there is no right to abortion, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Signed by 36 nations, the Geneva Consensus Declaration states that “every human being has the inherent right to life,” that “in no case should abortion be promoted as a method of family planning,” that “any measures or changes related to abortion within the health system can only be determined at the national or local level according to the national legislative process,” that “the child … needs special safeguards and care … before as well as after birth.” The signatories affirm that “there is no international right to abortion, nor any obligation on the part of the States to finance or facilitate abortion, consistent with the long-standing international consensus that each nation has the sovereign right to implement programs and activities consistent with their laws and policies.” Sadly, President Joe Biden withdrew the United States from the declaration within days of taking office as part of its ongoing efforts to promote abortion-on-demand around the world. Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones is unapologetic Christian And finally, “Fox & Friends” co-host Lawrence Jones has a deep-rooted Christian faith and a growing media career that has landed him on millions of TV screens each week, reports FaithWire.com. He explained that he comes from “generations of pastors, … so, the Gospel at large — knowing who Christ is and accepting [Him] into my heart … that's all I know.” The 31-year-old TV host said that his “faith became real when life became real” when he left home and moved to Washington, D.C., and, ultimately, New York City. Jones, who recently released the book, American Man: Speaking the Truth about the War on Masculinity, said he's striving to be more like Jesus each and every day. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, April 15th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Friday, March 15th, A.D. 2024.  This is The Worldview heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus State in India seeks to imprison Christians who pray for the sick State lawmakers in Assam, India want to penalize Christians who pray for the sick, reports Christian Headlines. The legislation, entitled the “Assam Healing (Prevention of Evil) Practices Bill 2024” will unfairly target local Christians who pray for God to heal the sick. The ban, which passed the state assembly on February 26th, declares, “No person shall take any part in healing practices and magical healing propagation for treatment of any diseases, any disorder or any condition relating to the health of a person (relating to human body) directly or indirectly giving a false impression of treatment to cure diseases, pain or trouble to the human health.” Those violating the order for the first time can face one-to-three years in prison, a fine of $600 or both. However, a subsequent conviction may lead to up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $1,200. Canadian bill could “send Christians to jail' for quoting Bible Lawmakers in Canada are considering legislation which, if passed, could criminalize the act of quoting Scripture in defense of biblical marriage, sexuality, and other Christian views, reports The Christian Post. If the religious exemption is removed, any religious or faith-based expression that refutes or condemns gender ideology, child sexualization, and other similar topics could potentially be deemed by Canadian courts as “hate speech” and lead to criminal prosecution for Christians and other religious groups. The proposal, Bill C-367, currently under review in the House of Commons, would repeal the “religious exemption” in Section 319 of the Canadian Criminal Code, which critics say could open up Christians and other religious groups to “hate speech” charges over any comments or criticisms of the homosexual/transgender movement. While Bill C-367 comes in response to recent antisemitic demonstrations in Canada — including one in which a Muslim activist called for Allah to “exterminate” what he called “Zionist aggressors” — some organizations, like the Canadian pro-life group Campaign Life Coalition, warn the legislation could lead to more criminal prosecutions against Christians. In February, David Cooke, a leader with the pro-life group, wrote, “No longer will we be allowed to share God's design for human sexuality and marriage in public. No longer will we be able to speak out in the name of God against drag shows for kids, child drag, or child sex change. All this could be misconstrued as ‘hate speech' against the LGBT community. Even our pro-life message could be spun as a ‘hate crime' against women.” Over the last decade, Canadian lawmakers have passed a number of bills aimed at curbing speech in deferment to the homosexual lobby. Vice President Kamala Harris celebrates baby-killing at abortion mill On Thursday, Kamala Harris became the first U.S. vice president to personally tour an abortion mill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. She visited a Planned Parenthood death chamber in St. Paul, Minnesota as part of her so-called “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour, which has been ongoing since January.  HARRIS: “The United States Supreme Court took a constitutional right, that had been recognized, from the women of America. … These attacks against an individual's right to make decisions about their own body are outrageous and in many instances just plain old immoral.” Isaiah 5:20 warns, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness." Family Research Council rightly noted that Vice President Harris' tour did not “show the helplessness and heartbreak each mother feels as her child is killed, and torn from her womb. They won't show the tools used to literally tear a child limb from limb. They won't show the room where the abortionist callously reconstructs the baby's body to make sure he got all the parts.” House votes to ban TikTok In a Wednesday vote of 352-65, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would lead to a nationwide ban of the popular video app TikTok if its China-based owner does not sell its stake, reports the Associated Press.  Congressmen are concerned that it could be a national security threat. TikTok, which has more than 170 million American users, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese technology firm ByteDance. The lawmakers contend that ByteDance is beholden to the Chinese Communist government, which could demand access to the data of TikTok's consumers in the U.S. whenever it wants.  The worry stems from a set of Chinese national security laws that compel organizations to assist with intelligence gathering. Christian singer Jeremy Camp recovering from heart surgery And finally, Christian singer Jeremy Camp revealed this past weekend that  he had been suffering from atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, a condition involving a rapid and irregular heart rhythm, reports FaithWire.com. CAMP: “It's a cardiac ablation. They'll go through the veins in my leg and they help this thing called AFib. My heart is in a crazy rhythm and it was affecting a lot of things. Even tonight, I went into AFib on stage and I had to cut the set short. It beats really, really fast and I can't breathe. It's hard to function. And so, I have a surgery on Monday to take care of that. This is a big cry for your help and for prayers.” This past Monday, his bride, Adrienne, explained that Jeremy's surgery was “a success” but it will be a few months before he is fully healed. She cited Psalm 73:26 which says, “My strength and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” You can post a prayer for his recovery on his Facebook page through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, January 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Sudanese paramilitary group killed a Christian On Saturday, January 20, Muslim militants from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces killed a Christian in Omdurman, Sudan, reports Morning Star News. The Rapid Support Forces, which has been fighting the Sudan Armed Forces since April 15, shot dead Hidar Al Amin at his home across the Nile from Khartoum. The Muslim militants insulted Al Amin, a member of the Sudanese Presbyterian Evangelical Church in his 30s, for being a Christian. They looted his property and left him in a pool of blood. Psalm 7:9 says, “Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just.” 50 young Canadians join March for Life in D.C. At least 50 Canadian young adults marched in the streets of Washington DC at the March for Life to call for an end to abortion, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Campaign Life Coalition helped sponsor a bus of pro-life young people to bring American strategies and motivation back to Canada. With the fall of Roe v Wade in 2022, U.S. states are now able to legislate abortion as they see fit.  Maeve Roche, the Canadian pro-life Youth Coordinator, said the key term used at this year's gathering was “the end of the beginning.”  Roche led the group on a 12-hour journey from Mississauga, Ontario, to give the young Canadians the experience of being part of a massive gathering of likeminded people.  She said, “The U.S. March in DC is the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world, so I think bringing our youth is truly a transformative experience. They get to be surrounded by tens of thousands of American pro-lifers. There's something really unique and reinvigorating about being involved in such a huge demonstration for the rights of the preborn.” Trump promises largest domestic deportation in U.S. history Appearing before a massive crowd in Las Vegas on Saturday, former president Donald Trump promised, if elected, he would implement the largest domestic deportation operation in American history, reports Christian talk show host Todd Starnes. Listen. TRUMP: “Within moments of my inauguration, we will begin the largest domestic deportation operation in America. (cheers) That's right. We have no choice because this is not sustainable. It's no wonder Joe Biden and his thugs are so desperate to stop us. They know that we are the only ones who can stop them. They know that.” Trump called on all states to send National Guard troops to the border to assist Texas in stopping the invasion of the country. Trump leads Haley before South Carolina primary Ahead of the February 24th GOP presidential primary in South Carolina, TheHill.com revealed a recent poll which shows Donald Trump has the backing of 67% of South Carolinian Republicans and Nikki Haley, who was once Governor there, only excites 27% of them. Plus, five of the six members of the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as both Republican Senators – Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham, have endorsed Trump. In addition, South Carolina's Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, House Speaker, and State Treasurer have all endorsed Trump over Haley. That's why it comes as no surprise that Mick Mulvaney, Trump's former White House Chief of Staff, contended on Sky News Australia that Haley will drop out of the presidential race before the South Carolina primary. Listen. MULVANEY: “If she loses her home state by 35 points, the money is going to stop. And in our system, money is the lifeblood of politics. So, she has a real serious problem. In the folks I talk to in South Carolina, we fully expect her to drop out before the South Carolina primary. “Why? If she loses South Carolina by a huge margin, it actually hamstrings her going into 2028. It would do nothing but invigorate folks like Ron DeSantis, or other potential 2028 challengers, if Nikki Haley can't even win her home state or gets crushed in her home state. So, there's a lot more downside perhaps. “Right now the conventional wisdom, amongst those in the admittedly political class, is that she does not have a chance in her home state and, for that reason, she will be getting out before the end of February.” Ohio may require age verification to access pornography Ohio GOP State Senator Stephanie Kunze is hoping to add The Buckeye State to a growing list of states requiring age verification to access pornography, reports FaithWire.com. The proposal — Senate Bill 212 — would require visitors to pornography sites to confirm they are of legal age by mandating an identification check through an independent, third-party verification application. Job 31:1 says, “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.” Son of Pawn Stars creator died of fentanyl overdose Adam Harrison, the son of “Pawn Stars” creator and star Rick Harrison, died at 39 due to a fentanyl overdose, reports KKTV.com. Rick Harrison wrote, “You will always be in my heart. I love you Adam.” Adam Harrison was the second child of Rick Harrison and his ex-wife. He was the younger brother of Corey Harrison, who stars in “Pawn Stars” with his father. The Roe of Roe v. Wade asked Supreme Court to reverse Roe And finally, on June 22, 1996, Norma McCorvey, the Roe of Roe v. Wade, asked the US Supreme Court to reverse its Roe v. Wade decision in light of the fact the case was based on fraudulent evidence. McCorvey was the original plaintiff, “Jane Doe.” The court declined at the time. But it finally did reverse the ruling in June 2022. Remarkably, she never did get an abortion.  She delivered her third child, Shelly Lynn McCorvey, on June 2, 1970. In 1994, McCorvey published her autobiography, I Am Roe. At a book signing, McCorvey was befriended by Flip Benham, an Evangelical minister and the national director of the anti-abortion organization Operation Rescue. McCorvey trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized on August 8, 1995, by Flip Benham, in a Dallas, Texas, backyard swimming pool—an event that was filmed for national television. He shared her testimony on Washington Watch. Two days later, she announced that she had quit her job at an abortion mill and had become an advocate of Operation Rescue's campaign to make abortion illegal. McCORVEY: “Upon knowing God, I realized that my case, which legalized abortion on demand, was the biggest mistake of my life.” She voiced remorse for her part in the Supreme Court decision and said she had been a pawn for abortion activists. Why Rand Paul opposes Nikki Haley, TN police officer: Pro-life rescuers were peaceful, Nigerian Muslims killed 25 Christians

It's Friday, January 26th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 25 Christians Nigerian Fulani Muslim herdsmen, and other terrorists, attacked villages in the Plateau State at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24th, killing at least 25 Christians, following the deaths of six others last week, reports Morning Star News. In a text message, Hosea Ibrahim said, “The invaders surrounded the village … and they shot at anyone they sighted. Twenty-five Christians, who were mostly women and children, were killed during the attack.” Why Senator Rand Paul opposes Nikki Haley's candidacy Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is so philosophically opposed to Nikki Haley's GOP presidential candidacy that he created a new website – www.NeverNikki.net – exclusively devoted to his opposition. PAUL: “I'm announcing this morning that I'm ‘Never Nikki [Haley.]' And if you go to www.NeverNikki.net, you can let her know that you're not a supporter either. I don't think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley. I've seen her attitude towards our interventions overseas. I've seen her involvement in the military industrial complex, $8 million being paid to become part of the team. “But I've also seen her indicate that she thinks you should be registered to use the internet. I think she fails to understand that our Republic was founded upon people like Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, Madison, John Jay, and others who posted routinely, for fear of the government, they posted routinely anonymously. So, I'm announcing today I'm ‘Never Nikki.' You can go to www.NeverNikki.net and sign up and show her that you're ‘Never Nikki' also.” Appearing on Tucker Carlson's Twitter show, Senator Paul shared more detail. PAUL: “It gets to me when I see people who I think care more about the borders of Ukraine than they care about our own southern border. I see these people every day because they're the entire Democratic caucus up here, but they're half of my caucus. Half of my Republican caucus is as we speak, ready to sell out, and they're ready to sell out fake border reform in exchange for what they really want, which is to send more of your tax dollars to Ukraine. “I think Nikki Haley fits right in that camp. I think she's from the [Senator Mitch] McConnell/ [Vice President] Dick Cheney wing of the party. And this is the antithesis of everything I believe in.” Trial begins for six pro-lifers targeted by Biden over peaceful protest The trial for six pro-life rescuers targeted by the Biden administration for peacefully protesting a Tennessee abortion mill back on March 5, 2021 began in federal court in Nashville on Wednesday, reports The Daily Wire. The pro-life activists are accused of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act for a protest that took place in a hallway outside of a Mount Juliet, Tennessee abortion provider. On that day, a group of demonstrators gathered on the second floor of an office building outside the innocuously named Carafem Health Center Clinic which is an abortion mill. The pro-lifers prayed, sang hymns, and urged women showing up to the clinic to not get abortions. Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” Eleven of the protesters were arrested for trespassing, at the time, after local police arrived and dispersed the crowd. In October 2022, the 11 pro-lifers were indicted by a federal grand jury after the Justice Department pursued charges against them. Unbelievably, if convicted, the pro-lifers could face up to 11 years in prison and $250,000 worth of fines. As the trial began, roughly 40 people sat in the gallery, including family of those on trial and multiple people who brought Bibles along. During the opening statement, the federal government accused the pro-lifers of plotting to “block doors to a health care clinic” and saying that the demonstrators planned on being arrested. Each of the lawyers for the pro-life defendants then had an opportunity to give an opening statement.  Jodie Bell, Chet Gallagher's lawyer, said that the pro-lifers were peaceful and were only trying to convince pregnant women not to abort their unborn children. The other lawyers said that their clients never injured, threatened, or assaulted anyone during the protest. Steve Crampton, with the Thomas More Society, said that his client, Paul Vaughn, was an innocent man, and the protest was a “non-violent, peaceful exercise.” After the opening statements, the government called on Mount Juliet police officer Lance Schneider to testify. During his testimony, Schneider, who has been a police officer for 24 years, said that police were called to the scene because business was being disrupted. He said that the protesters were “not being violent” and were offering no physical resistance. Officer Schneider, who said he arrested four juveniles that day, noted that the Mount Juliet Police did not make any arrests for assault or fear of assault. After court adjourned, several of the pro-lifers on trial, and their supporters, gathered outside to sing the Christian hymn “All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name.” Overseeing the case is Judge Aleta Trauger, appointed to the court in 1998 by then Democrat President Bill Clinton. Snowboarding coach fired for affirmation of God-given gender And finally, a Vermont high school snowboarding coach, named David Bloch, was fired for stating that males are biologically different than females.  He's filing an appeal in federal court after the school district denied his request for reinstatement, reports FaithWire.com. Bloch explained. BLOCH: “During downtime at a competition that involved the team with a male athlete, who identifies as a female, two of my players and I were sitting together at a table. The conversation turned to whether male athletes should compete against female athletes based on asserted gender identity. One student at the table, a male, said that he thought athletes should compete against males or females according to their sex rather than asserted gender identity. The other student, a female responded by calling him transphobic. “I then joined the conversation. I said that ‘even though I recognize that people may express themselves in particular ways, what matters most when it comes to sports is the very real differences between the sexes.' I pointed out that ‘an archaeologist might not be able to determine whether a person identified as a male or female, but he would be able to tell whether the bones had male or female DNA.' “Everyone remained respectful. And even though we may not have agreed, the female student thanked me for what she called a ‘good conversation.' Even though the school district seized upon that conversation to hand me my walking papers the very next day.” Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, January 26th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Tuesday, January 23rd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Chinese Communists sentence pastor to 14 years in prison A Chinese pastor with a large online presence has received a sentence of 14 years in prison. Kan Xiaoyong, his wife Wang, and four other church members all received prison sentences at the hands of the despotic communist government, reports Bitter Winter Magazine. Pastor Kan has supported the House Church movement with what he called the Home Discipleship Network for the last four years.  Both the pastor and his wife were tortured for two to three hours by Chinese authorities, reports Radio Free Asia.  Indian prime minister doubles down on Hinduism India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is moving more nationalist and more committed to a Hindu state. That will mean more persecution for Christians and those of other minority religions. His enthusiastic support for the false god “Lord Ram” and a new Hindu temple in northern India's Ayodhya is an attempt to create what Modi has called “The New India.” Hindus for Human Rights is protesting, calling this an attempt to “weaponize Hinduism in the name of the BJP's repressive nationalist ideology, ahead of national elections in May.” Brazil floods kill 32 Torrential rains in Brazil led to severe flooding last week, resulting in the deaths of at least 32 persons and the displacement of 5,000 others, according to The Brazilian Report. And The Christian Daily reports that the Rio de Janeiro flood left 12 dead. The Brazilian Evangelical Alliance is calling for prayers and volunteers to help with the clean up efforts for church communities affected by the flooding — reported to be the worst in 90 years.  Brazil critical of Israel Also, in relation to the Israeli-Hamas War, Brazil has joined South Africa and other Arab nations to bring charges of genocide against Israel in the International Court of Justice for Israel's defending itself after being attacked by the Muslim terrorist group on October 7th. The United States, Canada, and Germany have criticized the motion. Ron DeSantis withdraws from presidential race Ahead of today's first-in-the nation primary in New Hampshire, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has pulled out of the presidential race, and he's putting his support behind former president Donald Trump. Listen. DeSANTIS: “I can't ask our supporters to volunteer their time and donate their resources if we don't have a clear path to victory. Accordingly, I am today suspending my campaign. “It's clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. They watch his presidency gets stymied by relentless resistance, and they see Democrats using lawfair to this day to attack him. While I've had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent, Joe Biden. “He has my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican Guard of yesteryear.” Trump leads Haley, 50-39%, in New Hampshire   A CNN poll finds that Trump's lead over second place Republican candidate Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina Governor, is now 50-39% in the New Hampshire primary today, where Haley has her best shot.  Real estate market hitting recession The real estate market has hit recession levels. Existing-home sales waned by 1 % in December to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.78 million, reports the National Association of Realtors. That's the lowest level since the 2010 recession. Court: 18 to 20-year-olds can carry guns The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the rights of 18 to 20-year-olds to carry arms.  The court ruled that a Pennsylvania law, which prohibits the right of these young adults from carrying firearms in public during a state of emergency, was unconstitutional.  U.S. Circuit Judge Kent Jordan wrote, “It is undisputed that 18 to 20-year-olds are among ‘the people' for other constitutional rights such as the right to vote, freedom of speech, peaceable assembly, government petitions, and the right against unreasonable government searches and seizures.” March for Life in D.C. and across America Pro-lifers held their March for Life events around the country over the weekend, connected to the January 22, 1973 date of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which effectively legalized abortion. As The Worldview reported yesterday, thousands braved snowy weather in Washington DC, to march and attend a rally with speakers including NFL player Benjamin Watson and House Speaker Mike Johnson – both of whom we quoted. Other speakers included Republican Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey, Focus on the Family President Jim Daly, and Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship. Abortion rate up despite overturn of Roe Despite the reversal of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, the number of abortions appears to still be on the increase in America. The Guttmacher Institute reports that in the first 10 months of 2023 there were an estimated 878,000 abortions in the formal US health care system. That's a rate 12% higher than 2020's numbers. And that doesn't include the number of abortions produced by the Day After Pill, the IUD, and the unrecorded Abortion Kill Pill by Mail program.  Hear the Word of the Lord, for America,  from Isaiah 1:15-17. God said, “When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,  Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.” Wrestler Hulk Hogan rescues teen after witnessing car accident And finally, famed wrestler Hulk Hogan has recently been in the headlines for getting baptized and speaking about his newfound Christian faith, reports FaithWire.com. But the former World Wrestling Entertainment star is now making headlines for “playing real-life superheroes” alongside one of his friends. A week ago Sunday night, Hogan was in Tampa, Florida when he witnessed a horrific crash and jumped into action. The accident reportedly involved a 17-year-old girl, whom Hogan rescued. After news of the incident broke, the wrestling icon's wife, Sky Daily Hogan, shared details of the event on her Facebook page. She said, “Last night, after we left dinner in Tampa, we saw a car flip in front of us! I truly admire my husband, @hulkhogan, and our good buddy, @jakerask, for springing into action, puncturing the girl's airbag, and getting her quickly out of the car.” According to Hogan, the victim was “unscathed,” though rattled. In the end, she called the entire ordeal “an absolute miracle.” The wrestler also confirmed the story on his Twitter feed, explaining how he was able to pop the airbag without a knife. He wrote, “The crazy part about the teenager that flipped her car was that, without a knife to puncture the airbags to get her out, an Indian Rocks Christian ballpoint pen came in really handy. Thank you, God, all is well.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, January 23rd in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, December 18th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Nigerian Christian mother released from jail After being imprisoned for over 500 days in Nigeria, a Christian mother of five, named Rhoda Jatau, has been released on bail and awaits a trial that could land her up to five more years behind bars if she is found guilty of so-called "blasphemy" against Islam, reports The Christian Post. According to Alliance Defending Freedom International, she is currently in an undisclosed location while she awaits trial for allegedly sharing a video that condemned the lynching of Christian college student Deborah Emmanuel Yakubu. Yakubu was a college student who attended a university in the northwestern Sokoto State who was falsely accused of blaspheming Islam after she posted a message on social media thanking Jesus for helping her pass an exam.  Following her post, the college student was targeted, set on fire, and murdered by classmates for sharing her Christian faith.  Outraged by the killing of a Christian college student, Jatau took to WhatsApp to condemn the murder of Deborah Yakubu in 2022. In response to her outward expression, a mob targeted the mother of five, had her arrested, and she was imprisoned in May 2022.  Although she has previously been denied bail multiple times, a judge in the Bauchi State recently granted bail to Jatau following an international outcry over her imprisonment. God has answered your prayers. Keep praying that she will be acquitted altogether. US and British navies shot down 15 attack drones over Red Sea A U.S. warship shot down 14 suspected attack drones over the Red Sea on Saturday, and a Royal Navy destroyer downed another drone that was targeting commercial ships, reports the Associated Press. Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by Iran, have launched a series of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, one of the world's busiest shipping routes, and have launched drones and missiles targeting Israel, as the Israel-Hamas War threatens to spread. U.S. Central Command said that the destroyer, USS Carney, “successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems” launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. U.K. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said that Her Majesty's Ship Diamond fired a Sea Viper missile and destroyed a drone that was “targeting merchant shipping.” The overnight action is the first time the Royal Navy has shot down an aerial target in anger since the 1991 Gulf War. New Zealand gov't to remove LHBT indoctrination from schools New Zealand's new government, a coalition between the center-right National party, the libertarian ACT party, and the populist New Zealand First party, has signaled that it will remove gender, sexuality, and relationship-based education guidelines in schools, reports LifeSiteNews.com. It is part of what the new government is describing as its “war on woke.” According to the New Zealand charity, Family First, the previous curriculum sought to “inject sexuality education into the rest of curriculum,” putting “schools at risk of becoming ideological and indoctrinatory spaces.” Primary age children were to “be addressed by their preferred name and pronouns.” Access to toilets had to “align with their gender identification.” And trans students were not required to use a gender-neutral toilet, but could choose the male or female toilets of their choice. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus warned, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Obama thinks Biden could lose the White House According to someone in Barack Obama's inner circle, the 44th president is concerned about Joe Biden's prospects for next year's election and “feels that Democrats very well could lose.”  The Wall Street Journal reports that Obama is troubled that Donald Trump is edging ahead in polls, and that voters are concerned with Biden's age and the economy as well as Biden's policies on immigration and Israel. Right now, Trump leads Biden by 2 points in the RealClearPolitics polling average.  Christian military veteran destroyed Satanic idol A Christian  former military officer has torn down and beheaded the Satanist statue that was erected in the Iowa State Capitol, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The Sentinel explained that on December 14, Michael Cassidy, who once served as a Navy pilot, “pushed over and decapitated the [Satanic] statue before he discarded the head in a trash can.”  The Satanic Temple of Iowa previously received permission to set up an exhibit that included a statue of the demonic idol Baphomet. The satanic display was installed in proximity to the Nativity scene on the first floor of the Capitol.   Cassidy told The Sentinel  he destroyed the shrine to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government. The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment.” He also said, “Anti-Christian values have steadily been mainstreamed more and more in recent decades, and Christians have largely acted like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot of water. I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged. My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted.” Cassidy echoed the words of Protestant reformer Martin Luther who refused to recant his Scriptural assertions despite the threats by Pope Leo X to excommunicate him. During Luther's trial in 1521, he famously declared, “Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe. God help me. Here I stand, I can do no other.” 116 US Soldiers Profess Faith in Jesus Christ During Church's Christmas event And finally, an Oklahoma pastor, whose church recently made headlines after seeing 116 Army soldiers accept Jesus Christ, said the mass embrace of faith was the result of his congregation's trusting in the Lord, reports Faithwire.com. Mike Keahbone, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Lawton, told CBN Digital that his church normally puts on its annual Living Christmas Tree musical, a massive Christmas show, for one weekend. But this year, after much prayer, they decided to not only add a second weekend, but also to provide dinner for the soldiers.  Word spread like wildfire.  Seven hundred soldiers showed up, most of whom were basic trainees. During its 42-year run, the church always presents the Good News in the midst of the Living Christmas Tree musical. Providentially, 116 indicated a decision to trust Christ as Savior.  Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” The church followed up with the chaplains who will now disciple the new believers among the soldiers. It's Friday, December 15th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) U.S. Muslim family arrested, accused of beating son who converted to Christianity A Muslim family was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, after a juvenile victim told authorities his mother, father, and brother attacked him for converting to the Christian faith, reports FaithWire.com. According to an arrest warrant, the boy was purportedly punched in the face and spit at by his mother, father, and brother; the mother is also accused of scratching the back of one of the victim's hands with a knife, reports WZTV. During the attack, the young man was allegedly urged to renounce his Christian beliefs and proclaim Islam. Authorities became aware of the situation after his employer reportedly expressed concern. When police arrived for a welfare check on December 11th, they found the boy with injuries, including lumps on his face and scratches. The young man was transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, the 57-year-old father, Nick Kadum, the 46-year-old mother, Rawaa, and their 29-year-old son, John, were charged over the incident. In John 15:18-19, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” Hamas' plot against Europe foiled Yesterday, German police arrested three suspected members of Hamas in Berlin accused of preparing an attack against Jewish targets in Europe, reports The Daily Mail. German prosecutors said the three men, along with another suspect arrested in the Netherlands, were said to have begun preparing a weapons cache in the German capital where arms would be “kept in a state of readiness in view of potential terrorist attacks against Jewish institutions in Europe.” News of these arrests came after Danish authorities said they too had prevented a terror attack, arresting three more suspects.  Biden forgives another $4.8 billion in student debt On December 6th, the Biden administration announced that it would forgive an additional $4.8 billion in student loan debt for 80,300 borrowers, bringing the total taxpayer burden to $132 billion, reports The Epoch Times. President Biden said, "I won't back down from using every tool at our disposal to get student loan borrowers the relief they need to reach their dreams.” His administration is undeterred by the recent Supreme Court decision to block a wide-ranging initiative to cancel up to $20,000 in debt per student. Powerful pre-Christmas storm to pound 20 states Christmas travel is getting underway this weekend, but the FOX Forecast Center is tracking a powerful pre-holiday storm that will impact millions in at least 20 states as it slides up the East Coast this weekend and into early next week, slamming the region with heavy rain and strong wind. So, if you're among the more than 115 million Americans expected to travel 50 miles or more this Christmas season, you'll want to prepare for delays on the roads and at some of our nation's busiest airports if your travels take you to the East. Surprising number of men & women open to multiple partners or spouses So much for monogamy. A new study by researchers from Swansea University in the United Kingdom reveals that a third of men and one in 10 women are open to having more than one romantic partner — at the same time, reports StudyFinds.org. The study, which involved 393 heterosexual men and women, uncovered varying levels of “openness” to these arrangements. Approximately 33 percent of men surveyed in the U.K. expressed a willingness to consider the idea of having more than one wife or long-term girlfriend in a committed partnership if it were legal and consensual. By contrast, only 11 percent of women indicated a similar openness to the concept of polygamous faux marriage. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” Census now demanding "sex at birth" and "current gender" The U.S. Census Bureau is adding demands for every person in households to reveal their "sex at birth" and their "current gender," as if that could be changed, reports WorldNetDaily.com. The additions have prompted a warning about the ongoing loss of privacy Americans are sustaining. John Whitehead, a constitutional attorney and chief of The Rutherford Institute, warned, "The potential for abuse is grave." The newest problem concerns the "mandatory" American Community Survey, which is sent to households monthly. This is in addition to the census done every 10 years to estimate the population of the nation, its states and cities. The Rutherford Institute has posted online a form letter of complaint through which citizens can complain to census officials about the questions. Christian group uplifting families devastated by Hamas And finally, a Christian organization is working to help an Israeli agricultural community described in the Bible as a resting place for King David's warriors that was left devastated in the aftermath of Hamas' terrorist attacks, reports The Christian Post.  CityServe is a non-profit that mobilizes local churches and partnering organizations to bring relief to communities left devastated by war or natural disasters.  CityServe's Vice President of Government Relations, Todd Lamphere, explained that standing with Israel is one of the organization's 10 initiatives for creating community transformation.  CityServe is investing in Ein HaBesor, an Israeli agricultural community -- near the Gaza border that accounts for over 60% of Israel's produce. Hamas terrorists attacked the community during its October 7 strike in southern Israel, killing at least 1,200 people, including 31 Americans.  Consider making a donation yourself through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.
