Pastor Jim explores Elijah's journey in 1 Kings 19, where despair follows his mountaintop victory. After Jezebel's threats, Elijah runs away feeling hopeless and alone. Yet God meets him in his weakness, providing food, rest, and eventually speaking not through dramatic signs but through a gentle whisper. Jim reflects on how God works both through and in us, even in our wandering and despair. He reminds listeners that the Christian life isn't just mountaintop experiences but also seasons of silence where God continues His faithful work.

I'm Hunter, your host for today's journey through scripture. In this episode titled "January 8th, 2025," we're diving into powerful stories of faith and obedience from Genesis chapters 20 to 22 and Luke chapter 8. We'll explore the dramatic account of Abraham nearly sacrificing his son Isaac, only to be stopped by an angel and discovering God's provision through a ram. We'll also travel with Jesus as He teaches through parables, performs miracles like calming storms, casting out demons, and healing the sick. We'll reflect on the deep faith of Abraham and how it shapes our understanding of God's character as a provider, emphasizing the profound lesson that God brings life rather than demanding sacrifice. Along the way, we'll also engage in heartfelt prayer and discuss how these ancient stories apply to our lives today. Join us as we read, reflect, and are transformed by God's word. Stay tuned, and let's embark on this spiritual journey together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Unthinkable. Something unthinkable is being asked of Abraham. He's being asked to offer his one and only son that he loves as a sacrifice on this mountain. It's some kind of test of obedience, and it's unthinkable. But then again, maybe it wasn't altogether unthinkable. Maybe it was entirely conceivable. This culture and many cultures throughout that time and through all time actually have had the practice of offering the blood of a human to pacify or appease or to court the favor of an angry or capricious god. Abraham knows this. He knows that this is what the gods of the culture in his world so often require. But Abraham also knows this, that God, the God he serves, the God who called him to follow, the God who promised him a son, The god who made good on that promise even at the age of a 100 years old. The god who takes him by the hand and says, let's go outside and look at the stars. The blessing that's in store for you is beyond the number of stars in the sky. The god who meets him at his lowest, at his darkest, in that deepest point of of barrenness. This god, he had learned to walk with and trust, and was not like any other god in the world. Abraham knew that this is not a bloodthirsty god. This is a god of life. This god is not distant. No. He comes to Abraham. And this god is not capricious. And he's not angry and ready to pounce. This is what other people believe about God, but not Abraham. He believed that God is good. The God who's named on this mountain, Jehovah Jireh, he is the one who meets us in our need, in our shame, in our barren places. He's not like other gods. He does not require that you provide for or spill out or atone for or pacify with your own blood or the blood of those that you love. No. God has another way. And this god doesn't kill his son. He's not like the other gods. The son instead offers himself. And he's killed by humanity, not his father. And through this offering of his life, he overtakes the evil one. He wins the victory for you and me, and for the sins of the whole world. He defeats the powers of sin and darkness once and for all. Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, god was able to bring him back to life again, because this god is good. And Abraham believed it. Abraham was asked to do the unthinkable because he knew something that we all should know. The character of God. That God is good. That we can trust him with our lives, that he comes to us in our darkest and most bare places, and he raises us up there into new life. Right there, he meets us. He has achieved this for us on Mount Moriah on the cross. There, he laid down his life for us, and there, he wins for us victory. The victory that our souls were made for. And the prayer of my heart today is that my eyes will be opened up to see what Abraham sees. The character of our God. I will learn to walk with him the way Abraham has, by walking with the son, who has revealed to me the face of his father. That I will know the embrace of the father and the son and the holy spirit. This life that my soul longs for has been provided for me on the mountain of the lord. Jehovah Jireh. The prayer of my own heart is that I will know this well. That I'll know the freedom of it, the life of it, the joy of it. And that's a prayer that I have for my family too, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. Let's continue now in a time of prayer TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Psalm 81 is a rich and evocative chapter in the Book of Psalms, often attributed to Asaph, a prominent Levite singer and seer during the time of King David. This psalm is a call to worship and a reminder of God's deliverance, provision, and commandments. Structure and Content Psalm 81 can be divided into three main sections: 1.Call to Worship (Verses 1-5): The psalm begins with an exuberant call to worship, inviting the congregation to sing, shout for joy, and play musical instruments in celebration of God's goodness. This section emphasizes the communal aspect of worship and the importance of remembering God's acts of salvation. The specific reference to the New Moon and the Full Moon suggests that this psalm may have been used in the context of festival celebrations, particularly those outlined in the Torah. •Verses 1-3: “Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre. Sound the ram's horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival.” •Verses 4-5: These verses highlight that this practice is a decree for Israel and an ordinance of the God of Jacob. It reminds the Israelites of their deliverance from Egypt, a theme that resonates throughout the psalm. 2.God's Voice and Remembrance (Verses 6-10): In this section, the psalm transitions to God's voice, reminding Israel of His past deeds, especially the liberation from Egypt. God recounts how He relieved the burdens of Israel and responded to their cries for help. This passage serves as both a reminder of God's faithfulness and a call for Israel to listen and obey. •Verses 6-7: God speaks of removing the burden from the shoulders of Israel and freeing their hands from the basket. When they called out in distress, God rescued them and tested them at the waters of Meribah. •Verses 8-10: These verses are a direct address from God, imploring Israel to listen and not to worship foreign gods. He reaffirms His identity as the Lord their God who brought them out of Egypt and urges them to open their mouths wide so He can fill them, symbolizing His readiness to provide abundantly for their needs. 3.Admonition and Promise (Verses 11-16): The final section of Psalm 81 contains both a lament from God regarding Israel's disobedience and a promise of blessings if they return to Him. God expresses sorrow over Israel's refusal to listen and their tendency to follow their own counsel. Nevertheless, He holds out a promise of deliverance and prosperity if they repent and obey His commands. •Verses 11-12: God's lament that His people did not listen to His voice and how He gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. •Verses 13-16: A poignant plea for Israel to return to God, promising that if they do, He will subdue their enemies and turn His hand against their foes. The final verse promises the finest of wheat and honey from the rock, symbolizing the abundant blessings and provision God is willing to bestow upon a faithful Israel. Themes and Messages 1.Worship and Remembrance: The psalm underscores the importance of worship and remembrance of God's past deeds as foundational to the faith community. Through worship, the Israelites recall their identity and covenant relationship with God. 2.Divine Provision and Deliverance: The recounting of the exodus from Egypt serves as a powerful reminder of God's ability to save and provide for His people, encouraging trust and obedience. 3.Obedience and Consequences: The psalm clearly articulates the blessings associated with obedience and the consequences of disobedience. God's lament over Israel's stubbornness highlights the pain of their rebellion but also His enduring desire for their return. 4.God's Abundant Blessings: The promises of provision, protection, and abundance underscore God's generosity and readiness to bless His people if they remain faithful. Psalm 81 thus serves as a profound reminder of the relationship between worship, obedience, and divine blessing, calling the faithful to remember God's past acts, listen to His commands, and trust in His provision.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

KIB 437 – Judgment and the Remnant Kingdom Intelligence Briefing   We are living in days in which sin is glorified, and life is no longer sacred.  Truth has been lost in the onslaught of carnal agendas and political propaganda.  While the lines are being blurred between the judgment of God and the wrath of the technocratic elite (Watcher technologies), we do know that the judgment of God is at the door of America and the Western world.  Yet, amid judgment, God's mercies are new every morning for those who walk with God and take their covenant with the Almighty seriously.  Provision and protection are always available for God's Remnant, even as judgment is poured out on an unbelieving world.  It is time for the Remnant to press into God like never before.   Dr. Michael K. Lake is the Chancellor and Founder of Biblical Life College and Seminary. He is the scholar-in-residence for the Strategic Remnant Learning Center – Biblical Life Assembly.  Dr. Lake is the author of the best-selling books, The Shinar Directive:  Preparing the Way for the Son of Perdition, The Sheeriyth Imperative:  Empowering the Remnant to Overcome the Gates of Hell, The Kingdom Priesthood: Preparing and Equipping the Remnant Priesthood for the Last Days, and The Kingdom Warrior: Full-Spectrum Spiritual Warfare 1.  He is a popular speaker at national Christian conferences and is a frequent guest on many Christian TV and radio/podcast programs in North America.    Mary Lou Lake has worked side-by-side with her husband in ministry for over 40 years and is the author of the book What Witches Don't Want Christians to Know – Expanded Edition.
