Pitchers and catchers have officially reported, but the biggest Brewers storyline might’ve happened before camp even opened. Dan Kasper is joined by Brewers reporter Hunter Baumgardt to break down the surprising Caleb Durbin trade, what it means for third base, and why Milwaukee’s pitching depth could be second to none. They dive into the upside of new left-hander Kyle Harrison, debate who fills the infield void, discuss Jackson Chourio’s superstar trajectory, and examine the impact of Daniel Vogelbach returning to the organization as a coach. Spring training is here — and the Brewers’ long-term window might be wider than ever.#ManCavePodcast #MilwaukeeBrewers #BrewersBaseball #MLB #SpringTraining #PitchersAndCatchers #CalebDurbin #JacksonChourio #BrewersNation #MLBTrade #BaseballTalk #DanKasperSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With no Freddie Peralta and major questions surrounding the rotation, we debate which Brewer is under the most pressure this season — from Jacob Mizorowski’s Year 2 expectations to Brandon Woodruff’s health, Jackson Chourio’s next step, and several key position players who need to deliver. Coming off a 97-win season and limited offseason moves, the expectations are high as the Brewers look to defend their division and return to the postseason.#Brewers#MilwaukeeBrewers#SpringTraining#MLB#BrewersBaseball#PitchersAndCatchers#JacobMizorowski#JacksonChourio#NLCentral#MLBTalk#BaseballPodcast#WisconsinSportsSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Vinny Rottino breaks down Ohtani's game-changing performance and shares a personal encounter with the phenom in Japan. The conversation shifts to the Milwaukee Brewers' unexpected success, highlighting Jackson Chourio's clutch postseason heroics and the team's unparalleled chemistry. Rottino analyzes Jacob Misiorowski's potential impact and the Blue Jays' uphill battle against the Dodgers in the Fall Classic.
The postseason peaked early for Patti with this holy crap of an all-boyfriend double play. Other than that, and Jackson Chourio, NCiB is ticked about the LAD sweep, both because LAD and also because sweep. Maybe also because MLB will use this to push for a salary cap when collective bargaining begins. Is it fair that Shohei Ohtani is also Michael Jordan? We are not pleased that a Brewer's fan provided a teaching moment in consequences for fans behaving badly. We fully endorse the “power of weird” in SEA fandom, from the $16 spell to rally shoes and cheetos and Logan Gilbert requesting Eugenio Suarez's grand slam. Gold Glove nominees were announced and Pottymouth gets a double nominee while Patti has a deep outfield with sexy defense. After 97 wins, crazy winning streaks and a win over the Cubs in the NLDS, the Brewers season came to an end after four frustrating games against the Dodgers. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss whether or not the Brewers could have done anything against the high-powered (and high-cost) Dodgers rotation. If so, what was it? Why did they look so out of sorts? What roster moves could have precluded this from being such a blowout? What's up with Christian Yelich? Could this result really cause a greater likelihood of a work stoppage in 2027? There were some bright spots, namely Jacob Misiorowski, as well as Jake Bauers, Caleb Durbin and Jackson Chourio, not to mention an unreal double play in Game 1 that we'll never see again. They briefly discuss some future roster decisions, particularly Freddy Peralta ... will he get traded this offseason?

Whew, that was fun. The Milwaukee Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the series, lost it and then prevailed in a 3-1 thriller Oct. 11 to win the National League Division Series against the rival Cubs and former manager Craig Counsell. Chad Patrick and Jacob Misiorowski were heroes, Andrew Vaughn and William Contreras led a homer barrage and the Brewers earned a date with the Dodgers in the NLCS. Could their first World Series since 1982 be right around the corner? Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and host JR Radcliffe break down the biggest storylines, the granular details (the phone celebration, the L-Flag, Jackson Chourio's hamstring and more) and look ahead to the Dodgers, a juggernaut that nonetheless couldn't beat the Brewers in six tries this year. On today's Wisconsin Sports Game Review podcast, Charlie talks about the Milwaukee Brewers Game 2 victory against the Chicago Cubs, Brewers-Cubs Golden Kegs, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The podcast begins with Charlie breaking down the Brewers win on Tuesday night and why this type of game shows how dangerous the Brewers can be this MLB postseason. The podcast continues with Charlie handing out Golden Kegs for the Brewers-Cubs gam. Discussions around Jacob Misiorowski, William Contreras, Jackson Chourio, the Aaron Ashby decision are had. Lastly, Charlie reacts to the latest story about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his potential New York interest. Why he believes it a bit different than the others.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored six runs in the opening inning and prevailed over the Cubs in Game 1 of the National League Division Series, 9-3, but not without a serious cause for concern. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe break down what they saw at American Family Field, from the electric pro-Brewers crowd to an interesting starting-pitcher decision by former Brewers manager Craig Counsell. The Jackson Chourio injury is top-of-mind; will he be OK enough to play in this series going forward? They discuss the aggressive start, the Game 2 pitching plan, old friend Aaron Civale, an interesting Counsell comment and more. In Three Up Three Down (36:46), they discuss the NLDS roster decisions that stick out and Peralta's big outing. In Remembrew When (54:00), JR looks back at another six-run outburst in Brewers playoff history. And in Curt Blanche (59:30), Curt wonders how players really feel about Counsell. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.
Josh Maurer, play-by-play announcer for the Brewers Radio Network, offers insider perspectives on Jackson Chourio's injury status and the team's pitching plans for Game 2.
Brock Beauchamp and Jason Wang give their postgame reactions to the Brewers hammering the Cubs' pitching, scoring nine runs in the first two innings. The significant downside of the game being that Jackson Chourio left with the same hamstring injury that kept him out of the lineup for most of August.
It's the Phew Day between the last day of the regular season, and the first of the Wildcard round in which both Patti and Pottymouth are heavily invested. It was a record year for 30-30 seasons including PCA and six former NCiB boyfriends. Andy and Ernie help with the clinching, and Pottymouth gets all numerology-y with Jackson Chourio. Ceddanne clinched with a triple, and Guards play Guardball and clinch with a HBP. Brayan Rocchio reminds us that he's a postseason darling with a walk off triple to cement the ALC. Pookie is learning some guitar in his downtime. Aaron is tall for a batting champ and Cal is awfully catcher-ish for a home run king. But which will be MVP? We have thoughts. Breaking T almost gets Pottymouth to buy a Kershaw shirt. But instead she waxes poetic over Paul Toboni and the horse he road in on. Congrats to Tito on bringing another team to the postseason. And what City wouldn't want Seattle's double booking problems. We missed the fiesta, but the Mariners found their man of the hour and celebrated his good guy-ness. The Brewers achieved a franchise-record 97 victories, the best record in baseball and the top seed for the upcoming playoffs, and now comes a week of waiting before the division series begins. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe explore the questions surrounding the postseason like which matchup -- Cubs or Padres -- would be better for Milwaukee and what questions stand out when it comes to the postseason roster. Will Jacob Misiorowski be on it? What about Rhys Hoskins? Does the offense's struggles in September portend anything at all? What happened to Isaac Collins? Also, please forgive the slap-happy hosts recording after a 40-40 Packers tie. In Three Up Three Down (42:35), we've got managers flipping pancakes, Jackson Chourio and Christian Yelich at leadoff. In Remembrew When, JR looks back at a different wild day of season finales (59:00). In Curt Blanche (1:04:45), Curt takes the playoff format to task, and JR offers a take you probably didn't expect. Then, JR is joined by Sal Frelick (1:13:45) who, among other topics, discusses his crazy home run from the 2024 playoffs. Music intro from bensound.com. The Milwaukee Brewers are National League Central champion after a 4-2 week, but Sunday's champagne celebration also came with the knowledge that starter Brandon Woodruff is likely out for another postseason. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss the implication of an injury-riddled week, with unsettling developments on Trevor Megill, José Quintana and William Contreras, not to mention Woodruff. Is Jacob Misiorowski of being left off the postseason roster altogether? Same for Rhys Hoskins? Are the Brewers better off as the 2-seed, when they wouldn't wind up facing the Cubs in the division series? Don't worry, there's still time to meditate on the marvel of the Milwaukee Brewers putting themselves on the cusp of setting a franchise record for wins while maintaining the best record in baseball. In Three Up Three Down (39:45), the guys discuss yet another standout showing from Quinn Priester, a defensive play that saved Saturday's game and the exorcism of an old playoff demon. In Remembrew When (54:00), JR looks back at the first clinch (and an epic Bob Uecker call). In Todd's Take of the Week (58:00), some advice for Brewers fans as they embark on yet another postseason journey. Then, JR chats with Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio (1:02:30), joined by team translator Daniel de Mondesert. They discuss his Venezuelan upbringing, his transition to stateside baseball and those playoff home runs last season. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.
The Brewers haven't been red hot since the win streak ended, but they have done enough to keep the pace and the best record in MLB this year and the franchise single season record, and that's all you can ask for. Brice Turang and Freddy Peralta were named NL Player and Pitcher of August, respectively! Jackson Chourio returned, and the Brewers took care of business in Toronto and vs the Phillies to clinch the tiebreaker over all of the other five division leaders.Use code "TheScoop15" at SpiderzBattingGloves.com for 15% off of batting gloves, fielding gloves, protective gear, bat grips, and apparel!Use the link below for 10% off of Smackin' Sunflower Seeds!https://www.smackinsunflowerseeds.com/BrewCrewScoopMusic from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/mountaineer/gotchaLicense code: 8X4AOGJBECIWVDS3
We're one month away from more Milwaukee playoff baseball. The Brewers have held their own during this long stretch without an off day, including an excellent series in Toronto, but a couple sloppy losses made it an uneven week. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss the bullpen's fatigue, particularly without injured closer Trevor Megill. How big of a loss is he? When Rhys Hoskins comes back, what happens with a struggling Andrew Vaughn? Another check in with the rotation after a tough outing from Brandon Woodruff, but Quinn Priester and Freddy Peralta continue to be nails, Jacob Misiorowski bounces back and ... Erick Fedde is here now? In Three Up Three Down (30:00), they the Andruw Monasterio experience, Jackson Chourio's surging return and thoughts on a backup catcher. In Remembrew When (55:30), JR looks back at a season opener, when something unrelated to the Brewers happened that also happened this week. And in Curt Blanche (1:03:00), Curt discovers the previously unknown joy of a prominent aspect in traditional society. Then, JR sits down with Brewers veteran reliever Shelby Miller (1:11:15), discussing his first tenure with the Brewers (when he didn't pitch in the big leagues), his near no-hitter and what's worked so well this year. Music intro from bensound.com. Musical cues (in order): "I Got What You Want" (Extended Version) by Gloria Tells, "Arriving at Dusk" by American Legion and "Screaming Fool" by Andreas Dahlback, all from www.epidemicsound.com.
Rehabbing Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio joins Jeff Hem on the pregame show to discuss how he's felt on his first few games on rehab assignment, how his hamstring has been feeling, and what he's learned as a major leaguer the last year and a half since playing for the Sounds the final week of the '23 season.
The Brewers are tired and banged up, but they still have 5 game lead in the win column over all other teams in MLB! It sounds like reinforcements like Jackson Chourio and Rhys Hoskins are due back soon. All-Star closer Trevor Megill struggled recently and was placed on the IL, but he hopes to be back quickly. Fantasy Baseball Live – August 24, 2025 @ 3:00 pmMicrosoft Teams:Segments 1 and 2 – Review of Weekend GamesAdditional Questions:1.Five young kids that we might see soon. Your thoughts for picking up:1)JJ Wetherholt (3B/2B/SS, STL) – The Cardinals have played him at third base seven times this month, and he's been on and off second base this season.2)Spencer Jones (OF, NYY) – He's tied for the lead in home runs in the minor leagues with 32.3)Jonah Tong (RHP, NYM) – Word coming out of New York is this might happen sooner rather than later.4)Payton Tolle (LHP, Bos) – Pitching to a 3.04 ERA across High, Double and Triple-A. He has 133 Ks and 23 walks in 92.1 IP. His fastball topped out at 99 MPH in Friday's start.5)Robby Snelling (LHP, Mia) – Fastball is up to 97 MPH from the left side and is pitching to a 2.73 ERA across Double and Triple-A this season. 2.Nestor Cortes pitched a one-hitter against the Dodgers on Saturday. What? His fastball averaged 90.1 MPH (T 92). Old school baseball?. Really???3.The Mariners released Dylan Moore, who started the season strong (.290, 7 HRs, 13 SB) through mid-May, then cooled off, lost his spot, and now he's cut. Is there anything here if he gets picked up by another MLB team?a.Victor Robles gets reinstated after throwing his bat at a pitcher in a Triple-A game. He takes Moore's spot on the roster. He was a sexy draft pick this season, but a shoulder injury has cost him most of the season, and then, of course, the issue in Triple-A.4. I know Nick Kurtz has the ROY award practically wrapped up in the American League, but will Colson Montgomery receive some votes? In just 41 games, he's hit 12 home runs with 34 RBIs. The 12 home runs are fourth in baseball among all rookies, and the 34 RBIs rank 12th. The 11 players ahead of him have all played twice as many games, with some nearly three times as many. BTW, he's hitting .229 with 44 strikeouts in 41 games (28% K-Rate, 7% BB-Rate) with a poor chase rate.5.What does going 4 for 15 in your first four professional games get you? An 8-year, $67 million contract. That's what Samuel Basallo signed on Friday. It's a deal similar to what Jackson Chourio signed before the start of the 2024 (8-year, $87 million or 30% more). A good deal of the Orioles? What about Basallo?a.Now that he should be up for good (although Kristian Campbell might disagree), how do the Orioles use him? b.Does he get enough at-bats at catcher to retain eligibility this season or at least get it in April of 2026?c.Would the Orioles consider trading Adley Rutschman? Craig Sandlin and Cory Phillips discuss the Milwaukee Brewers extending their franchise-record winning streak to 14 games, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 6-5 in a thrilling 11-inning contest at Great American Ball Park. The Reds took an early 2-0 lead in the first with home runs from Spencer Steer and Noelvi Marte off Brewers starter Quinn Priester. Milwaukee responded, tying the game in the fourth on Christian Yelich's single and Sal Frelick's sacrifice fly. The Reds surged ahead 4-2 in the sixth with Ke'Bryan Hayes' solo homer and an error-aided run. The Brewers rallied in the ninth, tying it at 4-4 with William Contreras' single and Brice Turang's sacrifice fly. In the 10th, Jackson Chourio's solo homer off Joe La Sorsa gave Milwaukee a 5-4 lead. Trevor Megill secured his 30th save, despite a Reds threat. Yelich went 2-for-4, continuing his hot streak. Reds starter Zack Littell pitched six innings, allowing two runs, but defensive errors by Gavin Lux and T.J. Friedl proved costly. The Reds, now 64-60, fell further in the NL Wild Card race, while the Brewers improved to 78-44, solidifying their NL Central lead.

The Milwaukee Brewers need some thump at the 2025 trade deadline, but will the franchise actually be able to make a splash in the coming days? Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe shout out some names and scenarios as they ponder what's next for Milwaukee. Plus: The Brewers get oh-so-close to free burgers and a 12-game winning streak, then slog through a so-so week, but one that ends in walk-off fashion and still with a first-place team. Should the Brewers try to extend Brandon Woodruff? Jackson Chourio is red-hot. What's the plan to manage Jacob Misiorowski's workload? Curt also gives his review of an electric evening in Milwaukee with the alumni home-run derby. In Three Up Three Down (44:00), Isaac Collins has a wild slide, Ken Rosenthal gives a nudge to Mark Attanasio and a good baserunning team that can't steal bases? In Remembrew When (1:06:00), it's time for another CC Sabathia memory during Hall of Fame induction weekend. Curt Blanche (1:12:00), meanwhile, is naming names in the final days before the trade deadline. Then, JR is joined by national baseball writer Robert Murray (1:21:00), a Wisconsin native who knows a thing or two about Brewers coverage. They discuss sensible fits, what the Brewers should do and what they're looking for. Is there a deal out there that involves Freddy Peralta? Are the Brewers as secretive as they seem? How did Robert become a transaction guru? Music intro from bensound.com. The Brewers have won 10 straight, coming through the all-star break with yet another impressive series to become the first team since 2006 to sweep a season series of at least six games against the Dodgers. The Brewers are suddenly flirting with the best record in baseball, and that's on top of a busy week that featured the All-Star Game and draft. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss all of it, plus the up-and-down Joey Ortiz, the pitching rotation with Nestor Cortes on the verge of return, the trade deadline outlook and the remaining buzz around Jacob Misiorowski's selection to the all-star team. In Three Up Three Down (33:45), they talk Wisconsin draft picks, an awkward interview and Jackson Chourio. Remembrew When (48:30) looks back at that other All-Star Game that ended in a tie this century. Todd's Take of the Week (54:30) examines what's on the immediate horizon for the Brewers. Then, JR gets to chat with Bill Hall (57:45) and Prince Fielder (1:12:00), two former players who will be on hand for the Brewers' alumni home run derby July 25 as part of a celebration commemorating the 25 seasons of American Family Field. They discuss the upcoming event, their memories with the Brewers, Rickie Weeks, CC Sabathia and Fielder's son, Jadyn, in the Brewers minor leagues. Music intro from bensound.com. Now 16 games above .500, the Brewers hit the all-star break on a high. Then, JR interviews two Brewers players, including Andrew Vaughn (1:05:15), who had a sensational first week in Milwaukee with a home run in his first at-bat and game-tying hits in eventual walk-off wins twice. He also chats with Anthony Seigler (1:10:15), another newcomer who has the unique distinction of being able to throw with either hand. Music intro from bensound.com. News & NotesBoston Red Sox infielder Alex Bregman goes to the IL, and one of the most exciting prospects of the year is called up to replace him in Marcelo Mayer.Fantasy managers got to experience the much-anticipated return of Ronald Acuna Jr. from the injured list. Detroit Tigers utility man Matt Vierling came back from the IL too.Joining Mayer as call-ups this week were Chicago Cubs infielder Matt Shaw, who was recalled early in the week, and Washington Nationals outfielder Robert Hassell III. A handful of other prospects are hitting in the bigs this week as well.It seems like teams are more willing to option the veterans on their team that aren't meeting expectations this season. The Chicago White Sox demoted first baseman Andrew Vaughn and the Athletics sent down outfielder JJ Bleday. Is this a trend of MLB teams moving to younger bats quicker or is it just a couple of coincidentally under-producing vets?
