In a race that saw more action per lap than the whole of the Japanese GP combined, Oscar Piastri ran away with it into the Bahrain sunset and solidified his claim for the 2025 drivers title. Stuart Codling and Filip Cleeren begin their coverage of the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix with reaction to media day at the Bahrain International Circuit. Stuart and Filip react to the day's breaking news that Robert Reid, Deputy President for Sport within the FIA and part of President Mohammed Ben Sulayem's leadership team, resigned from his post, citing "A fundamental breakdown in governance standards" within the organisation. There's also discussion on the upcoming V10 power-unit summit with the sport's manufacturers, and some further context from Yuki Tsunoda as to why he struggled at last week's Japanese GP, and why there are fears that last week's win may have been flattering for Red Bull. If you managed to stay awake for the entirety of this past weekends Japanese GP, congratulations! After a drama filled off week, we expected a little more action, but I'm sure our early triple header will deliver. Max showed complete domination once again, taking his first race win of the 2025 season and cutting McLaren's lead in the Constructors Championship to a single point. We're still not sure if McLaren knows what to do with their drivers but we do know that Mercedes is loving the sneaky consistency from theirs. Oh, and we hope Kimi passed his exams.Follow us on Instagram @tracktalk,pod to help us get to 13k followers!

That about sums up 2 of the 3 most interesting things about the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. The other one was, of course, Max Verstappen's blistering Q3 lap for pole position. But there was fire aplenty at trackside and you've got to feel for Isack Hadjar after his seatbelts were causing him grief in what Top Gear would describe as "The Gentleman's area"This week on the pod we try and make up things to say about one of the dullest Japanese GP's we've had the pleasure of sitting through, it was the first race outside of Monaco where the top 6 on the grid were the top 6 by the end of the race and that stat would have gone further down the order had Lewis not passed Hadjar's Racing Bull to break the tedium (we're really selling this episode aren't we!)There are thankfully a few tangents to break the parade up and there's a great Is That Glock as well, so it's not all that bad!If you want to join in with the chat during the races (along with practice and qualifying) head over to our Discord where there's always a great crowd of people to watch along with. MAXIMUM ATTACK....Oh boy, don't ever count out the Dutch Lion. Sometimes the driver makes the difference and this week was the case. Another tough outing for Doohan, with rumours of a 5 round contract only, could there the early sun set rumours be fake news? Yuki stepped in for his first ride in the Redbull, how would you rate his opening run? Pass or Fail? And is this the rightful place for Suzuka? Fires in the grass and a resurfaced track with minimal running? What do you think? All the plus much much more on this week's episode of BTRL.

This week on Formula: America, we break down what might've been the most uneventful race of the season—yep, we're talking about the Japanese Grand Prix. With barely any overtakes and minimal action on track, the highlight might've just been a tense moment in the pits between Max and Lando. We also dive into how Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson are performing after their seat swap, plus Jack Doohan's FP2 crash and what it could mean for his future in F1. Tap in for our takes, a few laughs, and the latest news from around the paddock.
Send us a textThe Japanese Grand Prix may have been painfully dull, but we've still got plenty to chat through, including the Yuki and Liam swap, how Red Bull defines duty of care, how McLaren chooses strategy (spoiler alert: not very strategically), Lando v. grass, how the FIA will fine anything including poorly-timed medical conditions, and more!! A pretty uneventful race at Suzuka was defined by one incident between Max and Lando - it's just a shame that the TV directors ensured we all missed it… We ask why McLaren can't work themselves out and praise a faultless drive from the greatest driver on the grid. Plus, with Suzuka delivering another poor race, we wonder about the future of various classic F1 circuits in the modern era – do the tracks need to change, or the cars? Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner praises Max Verstappen's 'inch-perfect' race win at Suzuka and reveals the engineering work which gave Max the car for victory. Then, Laura, Heikki and Tom debate whether McLaren could have done anything differently to challenge Verstappen. Home hero Yuki Tsunoda joins the podcast to reflect on what he calls an 'up and down' Red Bull debut. Yuki looks forward to the next race in Bahrain and tells us the strangest present he got from a fan in Japan.
