On Episode 1, we have former F1 driver, turned historic racer and broadcaster, Karun Chandhok and his favourite season - 1997.  It was a season likely to be most remembered with one of F1's most intense rivalries as Ferrari's Michael Schumacher went head to head with Williams' Jacques Villeneuve. The season-defining crash at Jerez and the incredible triple tie in qualifying is mentioned, as well as some of the under-appreciated stories of the season, such as a preview to Mika Hakkinen's future success, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen replacing Damon Hill at Williams. Have you ever felt like you were the only one struggling in your business and life journey? When people open up about their deepest struggles and the moments that challenged them most, it creates a bond like no other. Hearing someone else's journey reminds us that we're never truly alone, everyone is fighting their own battles. And somehow, even through the tough times, we all find a way to keep moving forward. And this type of bond is something I experienced recently when I did the Hands Across The Water Charity Bike Ride event. It was a challenge that tested us physically,y mentally and emotionally. And it wasn't just about pushing through the pain or reaching the finish line. It was about the journey along the way and the powerful lessons we learnt. And let's be real in business and in life there are days that you feel completely overwhelmed and and of course ready to throw in the towel. And you ask yourself the question: do you have what it takes to keep going? But here is what I learnt, sometimes when you are struggling the most you find a strength you didn't know you had!In this episode I chat with Damon Hill, Head of Sales and Partnerships at Sensor Global. Sensor Global is a connected and automated ecosystem of integrated cloud software and smart loT devices. Sensor gives you complete control and real-time vision of the compliance status of your property portfolio. Our connected and automated ecosystem allows you to fully manage by exception, save time, save hassle, save lives and provide an improved customer experience.Damon also took part in the bike ride and we are diving into building resilience and finding that unexpected strength and the power of genuine connection and giving back to the world in a meaningful way.If you're trying to push through tough days in your business or personal life and looking for inspiration to keep moving forward this episode is for you.“I would say for most people, we focus on our own challenges, and sometimes you feel isolated like you're the only one going through it. Yet when you realise that no one is exempt from going through challenging times and difficult times, it shifts something. And again, we were lucky enough to experience that. I go back to that comment where it strips you back as a human — you become very open, and you learn things about people that you would never learn in just an industry conversation or anything like that”- Damon HillWe explore:How the Digital Live Hands Across the Water charity ride changes lives beyond the bikeWhy stripping life back to basics brings clarity in business and leadershipThe lessons in resilience, connection, and vulnerability that every business owner needsHow Sensor Global is transforming property safety with 24/7 real time monitoringWhat Sensor Insure is and how it's helping landlords save money and protect propertiesThe future of property management compliance and why smart technology is keyHow being around the right people in business accelerates your personal and professional growthKylie's Resources:Property Management Growth School: https://courses.thatpropertymum.com.au/TPM-BDMSchool Digital Marketing School: https://courses.thatpropertymum.com.au/digitalschool That Property Mum Courses:

As Verstappen faces intense scrutiny, especially from the British media, we consider whether he's becoming the new "villain" of Formula 1 and how this narrative is playing out in the battle for the 2024 Championship against Lando Norris.Verstappen's approach to racing—where penalties seem like minor setbacks in his quest for victory—mirrors Schumacher's ruthless determination to win at all costs. We covered the end of the '99 season from Jordan's perspective back in season one, and now we are looking back over the whole year with Frentzen joining Glenn Freeman and Edd Straw to give us the inside story.  We look back on his tense start to life at Jordan, what it was like teaming up with Damon Hill after Frentzen so famously replaced him at Williams, plus all the highs and lows of a memorable year for the team in yellow.  Sadly, that means discussing the late-season heartbreak at the Nurburgring too, where we find out if it still hurts Frentzen all these years later that a potentially pivotal victory slipped through his fingers on home soil.

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 9, 2024 20:12

There's also talk of Ralf Schumacher rejecting McLaren to sign for Jordan, Sauber landing its Ferrari engine deal, Eddie Irvine benefitting from some rare Ferrari testing, and what happened after McLaren team-mates David Coulthard and Mika Hakkinen collided during the race.GET IN TOUCH: Use the hashtag #BringBackV10s on Twitter or email bringbackv10s@the-race.comJoin the Bring Back V10s Twitter CommunityTo buy some BBV10s merch, click here!Click here to join The Race Members' Club and get early access to episodes Hosted on Acast.
