This week, as we wander through the wilderness of error we're forced to bear witness to the ultimate miscarriage of justice, through a fatal vision, intentionally obscuring the very concept of a fair trial. A formidable tale, inevitably revealing the continuing persecution of an innocent man adrift in the American gulag. The Jeffrey MacDonald murder case remains one of the most litigated murder cases in American criminal history. Yet no one seems to be aware of the facts that clearly involve the suppression of exculpatory evidence in order to secure a criminal conviction for the corrupt prosecution. It's time we see through this thin veneer designed to distract us from the obvious patterns we're intended to ignore. The very patterns which would unintentionally acknowledge the significant conflicts of interest, protected criminal informants, fraudulent federal cover-ups, large scale drug trafficking, and even the malevolent practice of black magick requiring the use of fertility death rituals and satanic ritual abuse.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-underclass-podcast--6511540/support.

Warren: Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, the denominational seminary for the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), acknowledged that former professor Vince Bantu engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student during his tenure there. The incident arose because of an investigative article published in Christianity Today about Bantu's alleged secret marriage. Covenant said after the student filed a Title IX complaint against Bantu, the seminary confronted him, he confessed to the relationship, and he resigned from his position in 2018. Natasha: But he didn't stop teaching. Warren: That's right, Bantu joined the faculty of Fuller Seminary in 2019 as an associate professor of church history and black church studies. Covenant said they were contacted by Fuller about the reason for his departure and they “shared with Fuller Seminary all the details of what had happened in 2018. Natasha: He doesn't just teach at Fuller, he's also a pastor. Warren: Bantu left his co-pastoring position at Outpour Community Church shortly after the Covenant complaint, and founded a new church, Beloved Community Church. He also began meeting with two other pastors as part of an accountability group. Those pastors, Darren Young and Thurman Williams, met with Bantu regularly to provide moral support and mutual discipleship. Young and Williams told CT about Bantu's alleged secret marriage to a second wife based on conversations with him during accountability meetings. They said he argued that one way for him to avoid sexual temptation was to marry multiple women. Natasha: Is Fuller doing anything about these allegations? Warren: General Counsel Lance Griffin said in a statement.

Noted attorney Harvey Silverglate joins Greg Kelly in a winding and fascinating conversation. Silverglate is representing John Eastman, the man accused of providing President Trump with illegal advice regarding challenging the outcome of the 2020 election in Georgia. But this conversation also touches on Silverglate's career and notable clients such as convicted murderer Jeffrey MacDonald, his own personal and legal philosophy, and why robust debate is a lost artform in modern-day polarized America. That two men like Kelly and the classically liberal Silverglate can sit down and have a nuanced conversation about freedom and civil liberty is a very rare thing, and something the pair also discuss. The conversation ends with a discussion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the blanket label for a gambit of social reforms hitting college campuses across the country. Silverglate says these so-called DEI initiatives are turning off scholars on both the left and the right for their hampering of academic freedom.

In the third episode of their series on books that have shaped their ministry, pastors Sarah, Erica, and Steve take a look at a book entitled, "Part Time Is Plenty," by G. Jeffrey MacDonald, that offers a vision for how congregations can not only survive, but thrive, in situations where they have part-time pastoral leadership supplemented by empowered members of their congregations.  We'll explore the pressures many congregations feel to do ministry a certain way, or to keep with the pictures in their mind of "how we've always done it," and how pastors also often bring assumptions and expectations that have been foisted on them for how pastoral ministry should look.  We'll also take a look at how diverse the models of pastoral leadership have looked over the course of the last two thousand years, from Paul the bi-vocational traveling missionary and tentmaker to the circuit riders of the 19th century, to many models of serving in the 21st century.  If you've ever wondered, "How do congregations decide what is right for them for their ministry needs at any given time?" this conversation could be for you!  Listen in on this week's Crazy Faith Talk!

This classic episode of “48 Hours" reports on the 1970 murders of U.S. Army Doctor Jeffrey MacDonald's pregnant wife and two young daughters. MacDonald has maintained that a group of crazed, drug-fueled hippies broke into his apartment and murdered his wife Collette and daughters. It took the U.S. government nine years to make its case against him, but in 1979, a jury convicted MacDonald of three counts of first-degree murder, a conviction based entirely on circumstantial evidence. In Episode 2, we ask why. Why does Jeffrey MacDonald's account of the murders strike so many people as simply not believable? One answer is that these people have a background understanding of another set of murders that happened six months earlier: namely, the Manson murders. And that understanding is that the Manson murders were a singular, unrepeatable, one-of-a-kind occurrence –– not the kind of thing that happens twice in six months, three thousand miles apart. On this understanding of the Manson murders, the MacDonald murders become self-explanatory. Jeffrey MacDonald clearly killed his own family and then reached for the lowest hanging fruit in the garden of American popular culture: he tried to peddle the idea that the Mansons –– or people like them –– had murdered his family. Hence the talk of pigs, acid, and the word written in blood. The question for the historian, then, is obvious: how singular were the Manson murders? Were they, in reality, the product of one madman's dark vision, or did they emerge from countercultural currents that ran deeper than Charles Manson –– that had, indeed, brought Manson himself screaming to the surface of the popular American imagination?Follow on Social MediaInstagram – https://www.instagram.com/thelookingglass_podcast/Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/thelookingglasstruecrimepodcastTikTok – https://www.tiktok.com/@thelookingglasstruecrimeYouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@thelookingglasstruecrimeThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Jeffrey MacDonald. Struggling to get the words out, MacDonald haltingly and breathlessly repeated his address –– 544 Castle Drive –– along with the word “stabbed.” When the MPs arrived at 544 Castle Drive minutes later, they encountered a scene of staggering brutality. MacDonald's wife and two young daughters had been hacked and beaten to death in their respective bedrooms, there was blood on the walls and ceiling of the apartment, and someone had written the word “PiG,” in blood, on the headboard of the bed in the master bedroom. On seeing that word, “PiG,” military investigators all had the same thought: “PiG” is what had been written in blood on Sharon Tate's front door six months earlier, after the Manson Family had slaughtered Tate and her houseguests on Cielo Drive, in Los Angeles. Had the Manson Family come to North Carolina? If Jeffrey MacDonald was to be believed, perhaps they had. MacDonald told investigators that a group of at least three men and one woman had broken into the apartment and attacked him and his family. Although these assailants had stabbed and beaten MacDonald, leaving him with a partially collapsed lung, they had left him alive after knocking him unconscious. Was the story MacDonald told investigators true? How should we go about answering that question? Follow us through the door of these questions and into the wild world of the Jeffrey MacDonald case, where things are not always as they seem. On February 17th, 1970, 26-year-old Jeffrey MacDonald called 911, saying that there'd been a stabbing at his home and people were dying. MacDonald, a Green Beret, lived on the Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Military police responded quickly to the MacDonald house to find a horrific scene: 26-year-old Colette and the MacDonald's two daughters, five-year-old Kimberley and two-year-old Kristen had been stabbed and bludgeoned to death. MacDonald, however, was still alive with only minor injuries. His story quickly began to unravel to investigators as he continued to blame the murders on a group of intruders, whom he described as “drug-crazed hippies”. Was MacDonald telling the truth or had he murdered his family in a fit of rage, then staged it to look like a copycat Manson murder? On February 17, 1970, army doctor and father Jeffrey MacDonald called emergency services to report that intruders had broken into his house and killed his pregnant wife and two young daughters. But investigators weren't so sure that that's what happened, and blood evidence may tell a completely different story. Colette, Kimberley, and Kristen MacDonald deserve justice. Two grisly murders—a brutal double parricide—a suicide, and a fourth death under suspicious circumstances. Drifting Into Darkness is a tangled tale of family dysfunction, fatal attraction, and greed, a saga that wends its way from the elegant Southern mansions of Montgomery, Alabama, to the New Age salons of Boulder, Colorado, to rural, windswept Wyoming. On Thanksgiving weekend in 2004, philanthropists Charlotte and Brent Springford Sr.―a wealthy, socially prominent Montgomery couple―were brutally beaten to death with an ax handle, echoing the infamous case of Lizzie Borden. Suspicion quickly fell on the Springfords' gifted but troubled son Brent Jr., who would be tried and sentenced to life without parole. But a mystery remained: Who was the mysterious, elusive woman who claimed to be a Native American shaman that investigators believed manipulated Brent into this murder?Journalists solving murders is a time-tested trope in movies, mysteries, and on television. But cops and cop reporters know that rarely happens in real life. Except when it does. Veteran crime reporter Mark I. Pinsky, who covered the sensational cases of serial killer Ted Bundy and Green Beret Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald, broke the cardinal rule of journalism by involving himself in the story. Pinsky's extensive research prompted investigators to invite him to join their dogged pursuit of justice. His access to unique and heart-breaking behind-the-scenes material enables him to take readers with him into the troubled, tortured minds of the case's main players. IN THIS EPISODE: Numerous travelers have gone missing in Nahanni Valley… and many whose bodies have been found, have been decapitated. It's no wonder it has been nicknamed “The Valley of Headless Men”. (The Valley of Headless Men) *** In 2016, construction in a San Francisco family's backyard unearthed a terrifying find… a glass coffin. And the history behind it tells a morbid history of the city. (The Karner's Backyard Glass Coffin) *** Former Green Beret Jeffrey MacDonald claimed that a gang of acid-crazed Manson Family copycats brutally murdered his pregnant wife and two daughters in 1970, but then he was found guilty. Did he commit the crime, or did the law convict the wrong man? (The Evil Deeds of Jeffrey MacDonald) *** It's understood that scientifically, alchemy – attempting to turn a substance or element into gold – is impossible. But then, there is that one incident that took place in the early seventeenth century that has some people wondering if that's wrong. (The Alchemy Master) *** When you hear the words “UFO crash” you likely think of Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. And while that is the most famous of supposed extraterrestrial spaceship crashes, it is by no means the first. In fact, there were several taking place before Roswell became a household name. (UFO Crashes Before Roswell) *** But first – we'll take a look at Roswell itself… and what might have been behind the crash, the UFOs, and the aliens!
