Hey Cornerstone, Just a quick apology, due to some technical issues the last 5 minutes of the sermon on Sunday didn't record!
For the last part of this series, join Pastor Byron Chicken in this thought provoking sermon with a study of Mark 5 verse 1 to 20.With the story of the man who was demon possessed and then set free, we focus on the town's attitude towards Jesus. They had gotten so comfortable with not facing their issues that when Jesus came cast those demons out of that man they chased Jesus away. Their focus was not on how Jesus saved that man and how He could save them as well but they chose to focus on the pigs. They put more value on the pigs than on the man, the miracle and Jesus.Unfortunately that is what sometimes we do, we chose to cast our troubles aside like how the town cast that man aside but as believers, we need to cast all our burdens to Jesus. He cares for us, He will set us free and He shows us mercy and compassion. In the same story we see how the man who was freed from demon possession chose to follow Jesus. He chose to focus on the one that redeemed Him and that should be our posture as believers. So are you the town or the man? Where is your focus?
In this thought provoking sermon join Pastor Megan as she highlights the importance of evangelism as a witness. We have all been called to ministry, we have been called to share the good news with the world. We are here to spread the Gospel and witness for Jesus and what He has done for us in our lives. However, that takes boldness. The things we go through in life are not to cripple us because God uses them for His glory, that is how we become witnesses. Being a witness means sharing what God has done is your life. It requires authenticity and a real relationship with God. We have called to share our lives, our testimony and bear witness to others and the only way we can do that is through lived experiences. That is how we are able to relate to others and we get to share Jesus with them.So are you a witness? Do you have a testimony?
As we continue with our series of Share Jesus, Share Hope, join Pastor Bruce as he expands on obedience and conviction. As believers we need to operate out of obedience and conviction. We know who we belong to and we know what He has called us to do, therefore we need to operate from that. Unfortunately sometimes as believers we get so comfortable in our comfort zones that we miss what God is calling us to do.We all have been called to be leaders and influences in our lives in some way, shape or form. Therefore, we need to trust in what God has called us to do and be obedient to what He says. Our conviction in who He is is what will keep us obedient to His ways and that's why it's important to get to know Him more, be in His word more.We must not let fear and comfort rule and dictate us.
Through Jesus, we have access to resurrection life! This speaks of eternal life with Him to come, but also includes abundant life today. Through Him, we can have power to pray, prophesy, witness, love, and demonstrate the effects of the Kingdom of God right now, today, in our world. In this message, Pastor Steven Hilton exhorts us to share in the resurrection power that Jesus offers His believers every day. Notes & Scriptures for this message are available in the Notes section of the Giving Light App. Visit our website at www.givinglight.org. Download the Giving Light App available for free on iOS and Android.
Join Pastor Tammy in this new series as we Share Jesus and Share Hope. As believers, we need to share Jesus, as we grow in our faith, we must spread His word with others. However in order to do that we need to first go into ourselves. We first need to reflect on who and where we are. We can only share what we have - therefore if we have Jesus in us and we are able to bring forth fruits, then we ought to share Him with the world. We first need to reflect, discover ourselves, pay attention, hear God's voice and go.
The very idea of evangelism gives some people heartburn. The thought of talking to people about deeply personal religious convictions is out of bounds for many of us. Having seen over-zealous people make a complete mess of sharing Jesus only adds to the anxiety most of us feel when it comes to telling others about Jesus. But what if it didn't have to be so threatening? What if you could actually find joy in letting skeptical people find out about Jesus? Would that change the equation for you? Or maybe you are someone who is still wondering if Jesus even fits in your life and what it could mean for you.
Main Idea: Sharing the gospel is more of a journey than a presentation.

“I will tell everyone about your righteousness. All day long I will proclaim your saving power, though I am not skilled with words. I will praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord. I will tell everyone that you alone are just.” - Psalms 71:15-16 NLT
Today we're discussing part 10 in our 12-week Systematic Theology series with hosts Bryan Dwyer and Ross Anderson. Our focus today is on the Church. The church is neither a building nor an organization. It is a people, the community of all those who stand in a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The New Testament Greek word for “church” is ekklesia, which means “the assembly of those called out” - called out by the proclamation of the gospel to gather around Christ. This church exists in two aspects. The visible or local church takes shape in many forms in specific places and cultures (Acts 13:1; Acts 15:41; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Acts 9:31). Yet even in its vast diversity, Jesus' church is one. The invisible or universal church is the body of all believers everywhere and through all time (Hebrews 12:22-23). No single visible expression of the church encompasses the universal whole. Talk about this topic as a family, with your small group, or in a mentoring relationship by using the discipleship tools at https://www.pursuegod.org/systheo/ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pursuegod/support
Did you know that the name, Jesus, was a common everyday name in the New Testament? There were lots of baby boys given that name. Jesus however gave new meaning to that name. Because of that new meaning, we have new meaning in life. Your birth certificate states your legal name. Your name on it legally identifies who you are. The Gospel writer Matthew records how Jesus' name gives us a greater identity than any birth certificate. The benefits are greater than any legal piece of paper. You're invited to come hear the new legal name you have before God.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Many ministers in today's churches glorify themselves by sharing what they think. These are ministers of Satan as they seem to be "angels of light," deceiving churches. Paul says: II Cor. 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Two or three years ago, I heard the Catholic pope say on TV news that he didn't see anything wrong with homosexuals. I screamed out: "What about the Bible." Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. The scriptures glorify God, showing God's view of the situations. The Catholic pope glorifies himself giving his views. A divorced woman wanted to remarry. She went to a pastor to see if she, being divorced, could remarry. The pastor said, "My sister divorced and remarried. I don't see anything wrong with this." So this woman remarried after divorce. Later she was born again and began reading the Bible and saw by the various scriptures that the divorced woman who remarries commits adultery. The pope and the pastor lead people into damnation, failing to present the Word of God on the issue. And they glorify their own selves by their own opinions. Ministers of God glorify God by presenting the views spoken by God. Gal. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 10-12 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Damnation to every minister who speaks his own opinions and fails to share the words of God on the matter at hand. The Words of God are salvation to us who believe, and those Words glorify God when we speak them. ( Click here for podcast and to see scriptures )

Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.' Mark 10:29-30 100 Fold Return… Numbers 13:30 We Can Overcome... I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.' Pastor Karl Roberts is one of the men who inspired me to become a pastor. He loves the Lord deeply, and if you are around him you will know it by him sharing his savior with those around him. My parents, over 25 years ago, started going to the church pastor Karl was ministering to, and after over 40 years of ministry he is still serving Jesus any way he can. He brings great insights on how you can personally share Jesus with others. Full Show Notes ‘When you start with the great commission, evangelism is just something that’s gonna happen’ Karl…Click To Tweet Overview In episode 5, Pastor Karl Roberts speaks about his life and ministry, namely how he has grown in sharing Jesus with a lost world. Karl had multiple mentors who taught him how to love people and follow the great commission in Matthew 28:18–20 of sharing the message of Jesus with his community. Now he share his knowledge with you of how to do personal evangelism in your community. One of my favorite things about being around Karl Roberts is his genuineness of wanting to be your friend. He does not comes across as pushy, but shows his urgency of loving people enough to take time and share the gospel with someone who does not know Jesus. Topics Covered: The importance of a wife to minister alongside of you Having mentors in evangelism The Holy Spirit’s work Meeting needs to share Jesus The importance of scripture memorization for children Being called to a community and knowing a community Ministering to multiple generations of a family Sharing your testimony Referenced American Machine and Foundry Co. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”” (Joshua 24:15, ESV) “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:18–20, ESV) “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” (Proverbs 18:22, ESV) “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.” (Proverbs 31:10, ESV) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, ESV) “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6, ESV) “And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him.” (Mark 12:28–32, ESV) Subscribe to the Podcast Subscribe in iTunes Link to Stitcher Share What You Like If you enjoyed the show, please rate it on iTunes and write a brief review.
