This comes after Honda discovered an administrative engine certification error in 2023, resulting in a 2024 environmental violation notice and a financial settlement for Disney. Regional Media Film Critic Sean Kernan reviews Toy Story 5. With their latest kid, Bonnie, receiving her first tech toy, Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee, our favorite toys find themselves once again on the verge of being shelved. But plucky Jessie (Joan Cusack) won't go down without a fight. With her trusty horse, she follows Bonnie to a sleepover but things go awry and Jessie ends up at a familiar looking farm where she's forced to rely on an outdated tech product to help her get back to Bonnie and, perhaps, help Bonnie make a new friend.
In Disney's Toy Story 5, Jessie, Woody, and Buzz are back to confront a new threat – screen time. When their kid Bonnie gets a new tablet called Lilypad, she forgets about the rest of her toys. But Jessie is determined to win Bonnie back, even after a series of events separates them. Toy Story 5 features a familiar and beloved voice cast with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack reprising their roles. Are you a fan of all things Pixar?
The toys are back, and Adam has thoughts about whether they needed to be. A full-spoilers breakdown of Toy Story 5, the Lilypad tablet villain, a tech-and-childhood theme the movie raises and then refuses to actually wrestle with, why this is fundamentally Jessie's story and all the better for it, how the film gets caught serving two masters, the conspicuous absence of anything Lightyear-related, and the recasting problem Pixar can't put off forever. Bring tissues if "When Somebody Loved Me" still gets you. A conflicted but fair 4 out of 5.

What if the problem isn't your work… but your alignment? In this episode of the Retire Southern Podcast, James Lewis and his wife Amanda sit down with Callie and Jeff Dauler to explore a question most people avoid. What happens when your life looks right on paper… but feels wrong in practice? From the outside, Callie and Jeff had built successful, visible careers in media. But behind the scenes, something wasn't lining up. And instead of ignoring it, they made a decision most people only talk about. They stepped away. What followed was a complete rethinking of how they approach work, creativity, and life. At the center of that shift is a simple but powerful idea they call the Lily Pad Strategy. You don't jump the whole pond. You move one intentional step at a time. This conversation goes deeper into: Why "success" without alignment creates friction you can't ignore The Lily Pad Strategy and how small moves lead to meaningful change What most people get wrong about podcasting, growth, and audience Why getting the right 10 people matters more than reaching 10,000 The tradeoffs that come with building something that looks successful from the outside This is not a conversation about quitting. It is a conversation about choosing. Choosing clarity over noise. Choosing alignment over expectation. Choosing a life that actually fits. If you have ever felt the tension between where you are and where you want to be, this one will resonate. Jump small. Because that is how you get across the pond.

Mike and Kelsey are back to recap the Best and Worst Movies of February. Mike shares why he feels personally bad for his worst pic of the month after meeting one of the main actors from the film. Mike and Kelsey also share how they got busted at the movies when going to see Wuthering Heights. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Scream 7. When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Mike talks about why this movie was hard to watch, the awful Ghost Face Mask and if it’s time to kill this franchise. In the Trailer Park, Mike gives his thoughts on Toy Story 5. Everyone’s favorite toys will have to team up once again. This time they’ll need to work together to save Bonnie from her Lilypad smart tablet as screens take over childhood. Mike shares why this feels familiar to Toy Story 1 and why unfortunately Disney-Pixar will never end the series. WE COOKIN' THIS WEEK! We kicked things off with the Toy Story 5 trailer — the gang is back, and this time Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the crew are facing modern tech threats like never before, thanks to a brand-new high-tech toy called Lilypad that threatens the core of playtime. Next up, we hit the Star Wars universe as we watched the The Mandalorian and Grogu teaser, which brings Din Djarin and Grogu's story back to the big screen with an expanded cast including colonel leader Sigourney Weaver and Hutt heir Jeremy Allen White, with plenty of classic galaxy-wide adventure vibes. Then adrenaline switched up hard with the House of the Dragon Season 3 trailer — dragons in full-scale war, Greens vs. Blacks, massive battles, and Westeros in total chaos as the Targaryen civil war explodes onscreen. Finally, we took a hard turn into horror with The Mummy trailer — the latest reboot from director Lee Cronin is promising a fresh, evil-infested nightmare take on the classic monster tale. This week on Geek Freaks Headlines, we break down the new Toy Story 5 trailer and why its big threat is less “new toy in town” and more “toys getting left behind.” The episode digs into Lilypad, a LeapFrog-style tablet that pulls kids away from playtime, and how the movie seems to shift its emotional focus toward parenthood, modern childhood, and the struggle to keep connection alive in a screen-first world. On this episode of Bringin' it Backwards, Adam Lisicky sits down with the wildly talented Alexandra Savior for an honest, vulnerable conversation about reinvention, resilience, and staying true to her creative self through the ups and downs of the music industry. Alexandra opens up about her journey from rainy Vancouver, Washington to New York Fashion Week as a teenager—thanks to an unexpected shoutout from Courtney Love—and the whirlwind that followed: signing with Columbia, writing sessions in London, and nearly missing her high school graduation due to flights to L.A. and New York. She tells us what it was like to nearly become the "pop star" execs wanted, only to realize she needed to find her own path. Alexandra reflects on the challenges following her debut, riding the waves of being dropped by her label, and how a chance call from Danger Mouse and a creative partnership helped spark her next chapter. We dive deep into her latest project, Beneath the Lily Pad, where her songwriting explores personal themes like mental health, isolation, and searching for identity, all crafted in the most DIY way imaginable. From painting album covers in her kitchen to building a direct connection with fans through handwritten letters and custom merchandise, Alexandra's story is one of artistic integrity, vulnerability, and never giving up—even when the world shuts down. Ashe in America and Abbey Blue Eyes tackle the explosive developments surrounding the Arctic Frost investigation and the indictment of James Comey. The duo breaks down the newly uncovered evidence showing Comey's approval of FBI leaks, his ties to Hillary Clinton's campaign, and what these revelations mean for the broader Russiagate conspiracy. They also examine John Brennan's viral confrontation with intelligence insider Thomas Speciale, unpacking the body language, the deflection, and the implications for the intelligence community. From the FBI's secret “burn bag” discoveries to Flynn's firsthand account of the 2016 deception, Ashe and Abbey connect the dots between the conspirators, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, and beyonda, nd how their actions shaped years of political warfare. The discussion expands to modern weaponization of government, surveillance, and election integrity, before teasing the upcoming GART panels and a hilarious Lily Pad cam cameo. Equal parts fiery analysis and humor, this episode exposes the machinery behind the cover-ups and demands real accountability.

"Beneath the Lilypad" is singer-songwriter Alexandra Savior's third album, but her first in five years. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, type 1. That's a condition marked with manic highs that can last for weeks or months as well as crushing lows of depression, she's had both, you'll hear about that. She's also dealt with psychosis, and has spent time in an in-patient facility. That mental health journey has informed her work as a songwriter and a musician and inspired the songs on the new album. She just turned 30 but she's been performing since high school when she was more or less discovered on YouTube by Courtney Love who helped launch her career.Thank you to all our listeners who support the show as monthly members of Maximum Fun.Check out our I'm Glad You're Here and Depresh Mode merchandise at the brand new merch website MaxFunStore.com!Hey, remember, you're part of Depresh Mode and we want to hear what you want to hear about.
