WE COOKIN' THIS WEEK! We kicked things off with the Toy Story 5 trailer — the gang is back, and this time Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the crew are facing modern tech threats like never before, thanks to a brand-new high-tech toy called Lilypad that threatens the core of playtime. Next up, we hit the Star Wars universe as we watched the The Mandalorian and Grogu teaser, which brings Din Djarin and Grogu's story back to the big screen with an expanded cast including colonel leader Sigourney Weaver and Hutt heir Jeremy Allen White, with plenty of classic galaxy-wide adventure vibes. Then adrenaline switched up hard with the House of the Dragon Season 3 trailer — dragons in full-scale war, Greens vs. Blacks, massive battles, and Westeros in total chaos as the Targaryen civil war explodes onscreen. Finally, we took a hard turn into horror with The Mummy trailer — the latest reboot from director Lee Cronin is promising a fresh, evil-infested nightmare take on the classic monster tale. This week on Geek Freaks Headlines, we break down the new Toy Story 5 trailer and why its big threat is less “new toy in town” and more “toys getting left behind.” The episode digs into Lilypad, a LeapFrog-style tablet that pulls kids away from playtime, and how the movie seems to shift its emotional focus toward parenthood, modern childhood, and the struggle to keep connection alive in a screen-first world. What happens when everything you thought your music career would be takes a sharp left turn—not once, but over and over again? On this episode of Bringin' it Backwards, Adam Lisicky sits down with the wildly talented Alexandra Savior for an honest, vulnerable conversation about reinvention, resilience, and staying true to her creative self through the ups and downs of the music industry. Alexandra opens up about her journey from rainy Vancouver, Washington to New York Fashion Week as a teenager—thanks to an unexpected shoutout from Courtney Love—and the whirlwind that followed: signing with Columbia, writing sessions in London, and nearly missing her high school graduation due to flights to L.A. and New York. She tells us what it was like to nearly become the "pop star" execs wanted, only to realize she needed to find her own path. Alexandra reflects on the challenges following her debut, riding the waves of being dropped by her label, and how a chance call from Danger Mouse and a creative partnership helped spark her next chapter. We dive deep into her latest project, Beneath the Lily Pad, where her songwriting explores personal themes like mental health, isolation, and searching for identity, all crafted in the most DIY way imaginable. From painting album covers in her kitchen to building a direct connection with fans through handwritten letters and custom merchandise, Alexandra's story is one of artistic integrity, vulnerability, and never giving up—even when the world shuts down. Get ready for an episode filled with music industry real talk, behind-the-scenes moments, and advice you won't find on TikTok. Hit subscribe, lean in, and listen to Alexandra Savior's incredible journey—only on Bringin' it Backwards.

Ashe in America and Abbey Blue Eyes tackle the explosive developments surrounding the Arctic Frost investigation and the indictment of James Comey. The duo breaks down the newly uncovered evidence showing Comey's approval of FBI leaks, his ties to Hillary Clinton's campaign, and what these revelations mean for the broader Russiagate conspiracy. They also examine John Brennan's viral confrontation with intelligence insider Thomas Speciale, unpacking the body language, the deflection, and the implications for the intelligence community. From the FBI's secret “burn bag” discoveries to Flynn's firsthand account of the 2016 deception, Ashe and Abbey connect the dots between the conspirators, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, and beyonda, nd how their actions shaped years of political warfare. The discussion expands to modern weaponization of government, surveillance, and election integrity, before teasing the upcoming GART panels and a hilarious Lily Pad cam cameo. Equal parts fiery analysis and humor, this episode exposes the machinery behind the cover-ups and demands real accountability.
In this episode of I Want That Too, Jim Hill and Lauren Hersey unpack what Disney's upcoming Toy Story 5 might really be about - and why it hits closer to home than you think. "Beneath the Lilypad" is singer-songwriter Alexandra Savior's third album, but her first in five years. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, type 1. That's a condition marked with manic highs that can last for weeks or months as well as crushing lows of depression, she's had both, you'll hear about that. She's also dealt with psychosis, and has spent time in an in-patient facility. That mental health journey has informed her work as a songwriter and a musician and inspired the songs on the new album. She just turned 30 but she's been performing since high school when she was more or less discovered on YouTube by Courtney Love who helped launch her career.Thank you to all our listeners who support the show as monthly members of Maximum Fun.Check out our I'm Glad You're Here and Depresh Mode merchandise at the brand new merch website MaxFunStore.com!Hey, remember, you're part of Depresh Mode and we want to hear what you want to hear about. As 2024 comes to a close, you might be reflecting on your financial goals and the progress you've made. Many people view progress as a linear checklist of milestones to hit, but regaining control over your finances is far from straightforward. Focusing only on the end goal is discouraging, and that creates a mindset that is unsustainable for lasting change, especially when it comes to how you think and feel about money. In this episode, I encourage you to reframe how you view your financial journey and the progress you've achieved this year. I'll discuss why the linear approach to progress can be limiting and introduce you to my lily-pad progress method, which leads to more sustainable success. Often, it's easy to overlook the small steps and skills you've gained, but those incremental behavioral shifts are fundamental to generating lasting change. Take a moment to consider what you can do now that you couldn't do just a week, month, or quarter ago. Celebrate your wins and recognize how far you've come on your financial journey. Listen in to learn more about the lily pad progress approach and hear about these key topics… [01:36] Pitfalls of using a linear approach to tracking progress [06:52] Benefits of using the lily-padding progress method [12:30] The importance of celebrating wins and acknowledging growth Tune into this episode of Money Files to learn how to reframe how you think about the progress you've made toward reaching your financial goals. Then, Sportsnet's Jason Bukala (34:30) joins the guys to share his view of Liljegren's usage since being drafted in 2017, how scouts feel about their players being moved, if the path to a Stanley Cup includes drafting and developing prospects and the potential need to bolster Toronto's centre position. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
We're excited to have Jackson back on the show this week, and he's pumped to be here! It was, by all accounts, an epic show. Songs:Geese - “2122 Live”King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - “The Dripping Tap”Jay followed up that show with a wild weekend in Richmond. He's been playing with a group called The Ken Demith Collection, and they recently performed a show at The Lilly Pad Restaurant in Richmond, VA. The outdoor restaurant is located in a marina on the James River and the band had an amazing night.Song: Dick Curless - “End of the Road”
What happened astrologically this week can NOT happen again. The girlies have had a bit of a weird one, and the stars confirm it isn't our fault. Twitter has been off-putting… It Ends With Us press drama being shoved down our throats, weird AI content, tech bros, you know the drill! One of our most watched videos on YouTube is about the life of a craft beer sales rep, and strangely it's something we've never explored at length on the podcast before. Micah Overton of Lilypad, a "CRM crafted for beverage suppliers and distributors to stay organized and sell more liquid", joins Cee to talk about a day in the life of a beer sales rep, the difference between self-distributing and having distributor partners, how a sales rep decides where to go every day, how to approach current or potential clients, his experience with wholesalers, the pros and cons of the 3-tier system, some fun stories from his days as a sales rep, and why and how technology can help beer sales teams do their job. Micah provided some killer Florida brews for the session - BarrieHaus Beer Co. Bublina Czech-style Pilsner, Angry Chair Vodnik Czech-inspired Pilsner, Coppertail Hop Quest Cold IPA, and Hidden Springs Ale Works A Hot Dog Is Most Definitely A Sandwich. This was fascinating - cheers! BAOS Podcast Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube | Website | Theme tune: Cee - BrewHeads
With 20 percent of the world's fresh water, Michigan plays a large role in the future of maritime mobility. Recreational boating, commercial shipping, ports, and harbors serve a crucial role in the economic vitality of Michigan's coastal communities and the Great Lakes. . That's why the Michigan Economic Development Corporation recently launched the Fresh Coast Maritime Challenge to help decarbonize the state's waterways. As part of this grant, Lilypad Labs, a startup based in Holland, Mich., launched the Lilypad, a sharable, 100 percent solar powered boat that provides a quiet, sustainable, and pollution-free boating experience. . To learn more about the importance of sustainable recreational and commercial boating, we sat down with Justine Johnson, Michigan's Chief Mobility Officer, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and Dana Lowell, CEO, Lilypad Labs, to discuss how the public and private sectors are working together to decarbonize the Great Lakes waterways. . If you'd like to get involved, the Office of the Great Lakes is seeking a maritime strategy for the state of Michigan. Learn more at www.michigan.gov/egle. . We'd love to hear from you. Often times when children are removed from their homes and brought to a social service agency or law enforcement office, they are not placed in a foster home immediately, and have to spend hours, a whole night, or even days sitting on an uncomfortable office chair, a lumpy couch or maybe an air mattress tucked under a desk. No privacy, and no dignity.Jennifer Tice and her team at LilyPad: A Soft Place to Land have taken steps to end this practice in their home state of South Carolina, and soon throughout the country. Lily Pad volunteers are building comfortable living spaces, within the state's Department of Social Service offices, for children to feel loved and valued during an uncertain time. Each Lily Pad space is unique to the DSS office it is installed in. You can click HERE to see a “before and after” of what a Lily Pad space is like (or visit this link: https://www.lilypadinc.org/lilypadroomsbeforeandafter)On today's episode of Fostering Change, you will learn, as Rob Scheer did, more about Jennifer and her family's road to foster care, and why the name “Lily” is so important to them. All Lily Pad funding comes from volunteers and good humans like you - our listeners.
