Welcome dear listener to First State Kopites. The podcast of the Premier League Champions. It's the fourth podcast of season 7. I'm Paul, joined by Sean and Daz. The new season started Friday night - we will reflect on the game against Bournemouth, look ahead to Newcastle and take a sideways glance at what went on elsewhere.Part One: Bournemouth at home:Acknowledging Diogo - beautiful from start to finish; NBC with surprising empathy. Lovely celebrations (inc Luis Diaz). Bournemouth fans had a Diogo bannerAt 36 minutes, Dixon says that Bournemouth have quieted the crowd - Hugo scores in the 37thThey kept going on about the atmosphere at Old Trafford - Robbie Mustoe was great in calling out how special Anfield isNo room for racism peopleTheme #1 - Defensive woes?Bournemouth physicality and Taylor's light touchThe left back story - Kerkez being targeted? Semenyo certainly played down that side. On replay he actually looked OK. Frimpong was relatively safe. 3 big chances given up - only 17 given up in the 17 home games before we won the title I read. All from transition. At set pieces - they had a line of Gakpo, Etitike, VVD, Szobozlai and Ibou - Konate won a lot of headers.Theme #2 - Attacking richesSo much verve and what could have been once these guys have even more time togetherHugo Ekitike - the movement, the ability to play between the lines cf GyokeresAt 2-0, looks like a third is comingChiesa - the song? the finishVAR - Michael Oliver and ‘a terrible excuse for a poor decision'Theme #3 - control vs. greater riskSubs made us look worse - until we settled downMac Allister - Wirtz - Ekitike, boy is that exciting, but could mean greater riskAli's 300th appearancePart Two: Newcastle away on Monday nightTeam selection? Gravenberch, Macca, Bradley?Newcastle's industrial midfield and wingers in attackIs a point a good result?Part Three - Looking ahead at our ‘rivals'Arsenal and Man United - Hot takesMan City - they are back…Chelsea - ‘World Champions' (insert throwing up emoji). We'll be back with a review of the Newcastle game. Welcome to the Always Bayern Chelsea show. BAYERN MUNICH ARE FRANZ BECKENBAUER SUPER CUP CHAMPIONS. FOOTBALL IS BACK. We cover it all in this episode of the show. We kick things off with a beautiful rendition of “Feeling Good”. Then, we dive into Bayern Munich's incredible 2-1 victory over VFB Stuttgart to pick up their first trophy of the season. Tensions are rising between Bayern Munich and Stuttgart as Stuttgart remain firm on holding Nick Woltemade captive despite the player's desire to move to Bavaria and Bayern Munich offering over double his current market value to make the move happen. In this episode we break all of that down and we look at Vincent Kompany's tactics, lineup, match highlights, scoring/substitutions and even hand out player awards. Harry Kane opened up the scoring in this with a wonderful goal while Luis Diaz found the dagger late assisted by Serge Gnabry. Heck of a performance by Manuel Neuer and Dayot Upamecano as well. Next, we move over to Chelsea Football Club for their disappointing English Premier League home opener draw to Crystal Palace 0-0. We break down Enzo Maresca's lineup/tactics, match highlights, scoring/substitutions, and of course hand out match awards. While Chelsea's defenders held strong lead by Reece James and a clean sheet from Robert Sanchez, the attack lead by Cole Palmer was extremely lackluster. Chelsea hope to move past this one when they take on West Ham on Friday 8/22. Bayern Munich plays their first Bundesliga match on the same day against RB Leipzig. Stay tuned for full coverage of those matches and of course don't forget to listen for our special shoutout to HULL CITY in this one. Incomings - 250GBP. Still looks like they have money to spendIsak and the Newcastle GutterThe Guehi saga?Part Two: End of the phony warKick off at Anfield on Friday against a Bournemouth team that has lost its defenceTeam selection? No Gravenberch but Macca should be back?Anything but a win is going to be super deflating. Is a Champions League run more realistic given the bedding in period?Part Three - Looking ahead at our ‘rivals'Arsenal - Gyokeres fever - he scored against Athletic Club.Man United still attracting players? Sesko at 79m GBP. Baleba? They meet at the weekend. What to expect?Man City - too many unknowns? Cherki not Wirtz. I sit down with Dr Luis Diaz Jr, physican scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and we share some history of mismatch repair, lynch syndrome and the evolution. Of course we talked about the primary rectal cancer study where they showed immunotherapy was curative for MMR/MSI High tumors. A second study for multiple cancer locations had 85% response rate and 40% had no side effects. Shout out of course to Dr Zsofia Stadler, my oncologist, working on another study of patients treated with immunotherapy, and if further cancers can be prevented. The future may be the Lynch Syndrome vaccine, but does the future also include immunotherapy before cancer for lynch syndrome patients? How about trying to turn non-lynch tumors into lynch (like) tumors so they can be treated with immunotherapy? Dr Diaz hopes other researchers can be bold moving forward, and that someday, this is all routine and these stories are no longer news.
Chloe, from the Kai Tak Stadium, reacts to Arne Slot's post-game press conference, where he revealed that Luis Diaz didn't feature in today's pre-season friendly defeat to AC Milan due to the ongoing speculation about his future, with Bayern Munich keen to sign the Colombian winger.
