This week's show covers new music from the French band Phoenix, from a new synthpop project from Morgan Geist and Kelley Polar, called Au Suisse, a track that blends Dap Tone retro with Bollywood and Turkish elements from the pairing of El Michels Affair and Piya Malik, and a soulful new reggae cut from Horace Andy. For the archive track this week, Mark is heading back to 1993 and the debut album by Porno For Pyros, and “Cursed Female.” This was Perry Farrell's attempt to move beyond Jane's Addiction, his previous band. (This track has all the 1990s crunch you might want!)  Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. In Toronto we grew up with Romanthony records like his four-vinyl "Romanworld" compilation, and singles in that album and pre-dated that album like "Now You Want Me" (a Toronto anthem at 3am sat. ngt. warehouse sessions- one of our favourite instrumental house tracks). Running a record label is no simple feat, it requires dedication, investment and commitment. Many have tried and failed whilst others simply dream of the notion. Multiplex is a label which has been in operation for twenty five years, a remarkable achievement for what began as a passion project in Denmark all those years ago. Founded in 1995 the label went on a hiatus of sorts and was then reborn in 2017 following an absence, it has been responsible for the release of music by the likes of Orlando Voorn, Morgan Geist and John Tejada. More recently the label has released music by Cai Bojsen-Møller, Wilma, Ultra and Luca Lozano. An imprint reborn yet still very much clinging on to the underground sensibilities which launched and birthed the label in its own right. It is a true testament to the commitment and perseverance of Kong and Daniel Karrill.

Lots of discipline and love displayed there. Thank you to all the HOUSE DJS out there for sharing with people your hard work finding the gems, and piecing together something that can be enjoyed with multiple listens and shared with like-minded friends. Basically, only HOUSE MIXES made by TORONTO DJs are posted in this group. No spam, no filler- Strictly HOUSE!!
