Do you ever feel like your writing has to be perfect before you can share it? You're not the only one. Many first-time authors get stuck revising the same sentences over and over. But here's the truth: your first draft isn't supposed to be perfect—it's supposed to get your ideas out of your head and onto the page. Writing a book is a journey. It will challenge you, grow your voice, and shape your message. The most important thing you can do is keep going, even when it feels messy. That's how you build something worth refining. You don't have to go it alone if you're feeling stuck. I've gathered a group of experienced professionals at Biz Book Pub Hub who can support you through every stage of the writing process. Visit www.BizBookPubHub.com to explore free resources and meet Hub Partners who can help. Now, let's get into today's panel. Our authors are here to share their writing journeys with you. Greg Davis wrote “Checkmate: Tips & Lessons to Help You Make the Right Moves to Achieve Happiness!,” a practical and heartfelt guide that blends life lessons, financial wisdom, and personal stories to help you overcome obstacles, pursue your passions, and make the right moves toward lasting happiness. Joy Rains wrote “Meditation Illuminated: Simple Ways to Manage Your Busy Mind,” a clear, practical guide that helps busy minds learn to meditate with ease, offering accessible techniques, step-by-step instructions, and timeless wisdom to reduce stress and build a lasting practice. Kim Groshek is the author of “365 Days of Pause & Abundance: Practical Daily Tips & Wisdom,” a daily guide that helps entrepreneurs and leaders cultivate intentional moments of stillness to spark clarity, creativity, and sustainable success—one mindful pause at a time. Please join me in welcoming Greg, Joy, and Kim. In this episode, we discuss the following:
NHL analyst Mike Johnson on what's different with this Leafs playoff team, blueline and goaltending, Matthew Tkachuk, the "embellishment" penalty, Mikko Rantanen is unstoppable and a stacked Canadian team at the WHC.
Hear stories of how people like you have been intentional in their pursuit of living in the home they want with the financing they can afford. Like a good exercise coach, the right home repair and financial professionals can help you with the right steps to happier homeownership.

Ever feel like your book will never be finished? You're not alone. Every author hits that point when they doubt, question, and even want to give up. But pushing through those moments is what separates a dream from reality. Once your book is done, a whole new journey begins: publishing and sharing your message with the world. And this journey doesn't have to be one you take alone. The right strategies, partnerships, and community support can make all the difference in turning your book into a tool that amplifies your business impact. I work with authors to ensure their books reach the readers who need them most and drive meaningful engagement. My strategic book launch program focuses on building connections that matter—conversations, media opportunities, and business growth. If you're ready to take your book to the next level, schedule a complimentary 30-minute book launch brainstorming session at www.robbiesamuels.com/booklaunchsupport. Now, it's my pleasure to introduce our panelists, who will share what it's really like to be a business author. Bernadette Smith wrote “Inclusive 360: Proven Solutions for an Equitable Organization,” a practical roadmap to help organizations turn good intentions into meaningful action by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion across every aspect of their operations. Greg Davis combines personal insights, research, and practical strategies to help readers overcome obstacles, embrace change, and find lasting happiness in life in his book, “Checkmate: Tips & Lessons to Help You Make the Right Moves to Achieve Happiness!” Marcia Dawood empowers readers to create meaningful change and financial growth through angel investing, turning passion into impactful action with accessible tools and insights in her book, “Do Good While Doing Well: Invest for Change, Reap Financial Rewards, and Increase Your Happiness.” Please join me in welcoming Bernadette, Greg, and Marcia. In this episode, we discuss the following:

It's November and that means the Leafs should be turning a corner soon, since in the past few seasons they have had really good win-loss records in November, so let's hope that continues! We are just past the 10 game mark on the season, and its been an up and down so far. In this episode we discuss the Leafs' performance over the first part of the season, highlighting key players, goaltending and the new look defense. It's always good to start with the positives and we do just that with our latest instalment of the LTL Highlight Reel with a nod to a couple of snipers, as well as the breakout star making all the stops. Then for the Third Period, we welcome back to the show our LTL Insider Mike Augello to give us his thoughts on Brad Treliving's latest moves, as well as what he thinks may be coming given the looming roster crunch. The potential trades of players like Ryan Reeves and Nick Robertson, the contract situation of Matthew Knies, as well as the constant buzz surrounding Mitch Marner's future are all fair game. In addition we all weigh in with our thoughts on the coaching style of Craig Berube and what we've noticed about how he is handling the roster so far. We are heading into Hall of Fame weekend with a with a series of games against division rivals, where every point counts, so there's no better time for the Buds to turn the proverbial November corner! Being present in the moment and staying open to whatever unfolds. We all want to lead lives and careers full of joy and fulfillment. Maggie Baird certainly has, and the key, she says, is to stay open to new possibilities and “let your passion lead.”Baird is an accomplished actress, improv teacher at the Groundlings Theater, mother to music sensations Billie Eilish and Phineas, and founder of Support and Feed, a nonprofit addressing food equity and the climate crisis. Through it all, she has embodied the improv principle of "Yes, and..." — being present in the moment and staying open to whatever unfolds. “I have done many things,” she says, “but I never approached any of them as a career change. They all came out of new interests and new experiences.”In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Baird joins host Matt Abrahams to explore the critical role of communication in developing a career, and how improv principles can help us engage, as Baird says, “From a place of open-heartedness, appreciation, [and] collaboration.”Episode Reference Links:Support And FeedEp.118 Maximizing your Personal Brand: Communicating Who You Are to Help Get What You WantEp.1 Speaking Without a Net: How to Master Impromptu CommunicationEp.9 Quick Think: How Being Present-Oriented Improves Communication Connect:Email Questions & Feedback >>> hello@fastersmarter.ioEpisode Transcripts >>> Think Fast Talk Smart WebsiteNewsletter Signup + English Language Learning >>> FasterSmarter.ioThink Fast Talk Smart >>> LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTubeMatt Abrahams >>> LinkedInChapters:(00:00:00) IntroductionHost Matt Abrahams introduces guest Maggie Baird, actor and founder of Support and Feed.(00:00:53) Career Transitions Advice on embracing new opportunities without rigid planning.(00:01:45) Teaching and Confidence Through Improv Discovering improv and how teaching led to a new sense of confidence and creativity.(00:04:03) Improv as a Communication Tool The principles of improv and how they can enhance communication and collaboration.(00:05:45) Structure and Freedom in Improv How improv provides structure that frees individuals to speak spontaneously.(00:07:37) Teaching with Empathy Empathy in teaching, remembering what it's like to be a beginner, and avoiding jargon.(00:10:34) Advocacy in the Music Industry Using questions and collaboration to drive change in the music industry and other sectors.(00:13:18) Collaboration and Positive Change The importance of collaboration, positivity, and meeting people where they are to create change.(00:16:07) The Final Three QuestionsMaggie shares her next career change, a communicator she admires, and her ingredients for successful communication.(00:17:46) Conclusion (00:00) - Introduction (01:36) - Career Transitions (02:28) - Teaching and Confidence Through Improv (04:46) - Improv as a Communication Tool (06:28) - Structure and Freedom in Improv (08:20) - Teaching with Empathy (11:17) - Advocacy in the Music Industry (14:01) - Collaboration and Positive Change (16:50) - The Final Three Questions (18:29) - Conclusion
