POPULARITY
Most DJ dads—particularly newer ones—will likely confirm that stealing an uninterrupted hour to yourself to throw a few tunes together becomes a bit of a rare treat. The wife and I have spent most of 2021 handling significant life changes: selling an apartment, buying another one, moving into said abode, bringing a brand new life into the world, settling into our new roles as (human) parents, and all the fun and challenge associated with that—all during a pandemic, no less. Accordingly, opportunities to lock oneself away for a gluttonous hour of music have not presented in abundance. Well, I was lucky enough to do just that last week! It was my first proper mix in our new digs, overlooking leafy Carlingford, and certainly the first since welcoming little Mia into the world. (She didn't offer much in the way of a reaction at the time, but there's still time—I'll keep working on her!) This is an hour of music, somewhat hastily thrown together, without any meticulous planning, rhyme, nor reason. Included are a few newer burners that were previously untouched and unplayed, along with some largely forgotten—and, indeed, recently relocated—gems on vinyl from yesteryear. In short, if I thought it might sound reasonable at the time, it went on. If you fancy a listen, you'll hear efforts from Sune @emilsunesson, Tilman @tilman, Retromigration @retromigration, Finnebassen @finnebassen, Session Victim @sessionvictim, Clive From Accounts @clivefromaccounts and Felipe Gordon @felipe-gordon, to name a few. Hope you dig!

Welcome to Showcasing House Music DJ Mixes by dattrax!! It was with great sadness as we saw facebook light up with 'Rest in Peace' shout outs to "Romanthony" (real name Anthony Moore, 1967 – May 2013). In Toronto we grew up with Romanthony records like his four-vinyl "Romanworld" compilation, and singles in that album and pre-dated that album like "Now You Want Me" (a Toronto anthem at 3am sat. ngt. warehouse sessions- one of our favourite instrumental house tracks). Other fav vinyls like "Testify", "Trojan Horse", "Bring U Up" and everyone's favorite "Let Me Show You Love".Time moves past us relentlessly and we have to be thankful and make the best of each day. Mr. Moore's music will influence many many house lovers, djs, producers & vocalists to come. The great thing about this house music we love is that it's built on the shoulders of giants. The great house music you hear today was built on the sweat and love of house music 20+ yrs ago.Every track we heard, every DJ we danced to, every mix we felt contributed memories, mind space and reenforces our passion for house.Enjoy this mix as it opens you to the house tracks that we love right now. Close your eyes, turn it up loud and join us and let your emotions move with each track as we tell you this new story. In this mix, featuring tracks by these UNBELIEVABLE HOUSE VOCALISTS & PRODUCERS! Medina Podcast >< curated and mixed by : Dan Marciano IG : (at) danmarcianoofficial SC : danmarciano • Dan Marciano is about to become the worst-kept secret in dance music. Born and raised in Paris, he has long been revered as a revolutionary of the French electronic music scene and Dan takes his DJ skills to famous clubs both large and small in every corner of the world, from Germany, Italy and Miami to Singapore, Brasil to Bienos Aires. He has also been producing and remixing since 2000. Now, following the successful debut season of his ManimalZ party at Privilege, Ibiza, Dan's star is set to rise even higher. He says simply: “I have the best job in the world.” Dan Marciano always loved music and dancing. As a kid he spent his pocket money on Michael Jackson or George Benson records but when house music emerged in Paris he found a spiritual home. Inspired by legends like Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier and Jeff Mills, and enthralled by the colour and magic of the dancefloor, Dan threw himself into DJing. It was harder to get a break in the pre-internet era and he remembers doing things the old fashioned way: handing out cassettes and throwing his own parties. Dan built a loyal following and became a resident at some of Paris's most celebrated clubs including the Palace, Les Bains Douches, and Queen where he has held court for a dozen years. His success as a DJ is driven by the belief that: "You can have the best records but if you don't feel the music, and the people in front of you, if you don't tell a story, it won't be any good.” This simple philosophy has driven Dan to experiment throughout his career. When house lovers and trance fans regarded each other as traitors he was brave enough to play both, and to win fans from either side of the divide. "It's my job, as the DJ, to break down barriers and take people with me,” says Dan. According to fellow DJs: “His music fascinates and hypnotizes everybody who hears it” which has led to invitations to play with luminaries such as Deep Dish, Pete Tong, or Paul Van Dyk. Dan is always happiest taking his love of house music to the masses. In addition to his long running weekly radio show on FG DJ Radio Dan is bringing fresh energy and talent to his Saturday night residency at Queen, booking hot talent such as Lee Brinx, Solomun , Cozzy D and Finnebassen. He is also busy in the studio, pursuing his second passion of making music. With more than a decade of hit records under his belt, including the evergreen ‘Good Morning Paris', Dan's production career has evolved along with his DJ style. His extensive back catalogue crosses labels such as Full House, Escape, Royal Flush and Connected Records and recent releases have graced Denfis, Cream Couture and Electronique. With a full schedule, new management, and ambitious plans, Dan is bursting with excitement for the future. “Clubbing has never lost its magic,” He says. “People call my music house, or underground, but you can't put a label on it. It is about emotion and passion.” >< tracklist : Tebra - Zuvuk Nebula - Aluben Nhii - Tlapatl Namito & Farhood Kavan - Kavir Archila - Red & Brown Space Greg Ochman - Castles In Space (Original Mix) Victhor Christian Lepah - Sundar (Newman I Love Retouch) Kashovski - Al Gassar (Abel Ray Remix) Silky Sunday Feat. Открывает программу новейший промо-трек культового проекта UNKLE, который вскоре выйдет в рамках нового альбома The Road Part II - Lost Highway на лейбле идеолога группы Джеймса Лавеля Songs For The Def. The Man from Mo'Wax, пересмотрев который, вы точно займетесь прослушиваем дискографии UNKLE, а быть может и Mo'Wax, чего уж там :) Желаю всем приятного прослушивания и до новой порции МАКСИМУМА! How did these early tracks had an impact on your later career? A: This mix is made up by tracks that had a big impact on me when I was starting to make music. I was pretty green at the time, but I still love all of these tracks. I think they had a very big influence on how I listened to music. I started paying more attention to detail and all the different sounds of a song. Q: You´ve been playing your music all over the planet yet. Which place is still the most magical for you? A: I think it's difficult to say one place. I used to play a lot in Amsterdam, I just played there again and it was fantastic. But its one of many magical places. Finnebassen might be one of the more well known house cats to come out of his home country of Norway. He is a naturally talented musician who won’t shy away from playing live guitar on his productions, always favouring a hint of nostalgia to permeate his tracks. A regular performer in his hometown since 2008, it was only from 2012 onwards when the rest of the world sat up and noticed. Then again, how you could you not pay attention to the Norwegian’s amazing run of nu-disco and house flavoured productions. His release on Electronique Digital ‘If You Only Knew’ reached number 3 on the Beatport Nu Disco Chart, and the Noir Music-signed track 'Touching Me' reached the number one spot on Beatport’s Deep House chart. Not to mention releases on labels including The House of Disco and even major players like Warner Music. Gig-wise Romania and Belgium are all scheduled for the Finnebassen treatment later this year, alongside appearances at Berlin's Watergate, Amsterdam ADE, and a tour of Brazil in November. As the first Norwegian artist to do a Balance Selections podcast, Finnebassen does not disappoint. And with tracks from Minilogue, Red Axes and Trikk, this mix will soothe many ears. Looking back at 2016, Jeremy Olander could make a case that it was his biggest year so far... He launched his new label Vivrant which saw 4 out of the first 5 releases make it to number one on Beatport, and he also took the brand on a label tour across 5 continents which included a sold out hometown gig to 1200 people alongside Henry Saiz, Finnebassen and Charlie Don’t Surf. His Talespin EP on Suara made it to number one on Beatport's Top 100 Releases chart, and the B-side, ‘Panorama’, sat at number one on the Progressive chart for impressive 35 days straight. On the remix front, Olander notably reworked ‘LETTERS’, the Sailor & I and Eekkoo collaboration released on Big Beat/Atlantic - a remix which is quickly approaching 1 million streams on Spotify. 2017 is well set to be even better: The ‘Damon’ EP is out now on his own imprint (the first release from Olander this year); upcoming is an collaboration EP with past Balance Selections compiler Cristoph, and a non-stop tour schedule is ensuring the Vivrant label owner is taking his sound globally. For this podcast the Swede has delivered a mix which feature an exciting amount of new Jeremy Olander productions: 'I’ve included a lot of unheard stuff to make it stand out and show people what I’ve been working on lately.’ Olander told us, 'Most of these I haven't played at any shows so I'm excited to try and gauge what people might like by the reactions’. And we can only think the reactions will be positive. Jeremy Olander has gone above and beyond to deliver something special. A massive thank you to the S.A.S.H crew for placing their trust in our Attic brand and inviting us to host The Maze at their incredible — and amazingly consistent — event. We had an absolute blast! Cris, Kerry, Matt, Jack and the crew: you really know how to make your artists and DJs feel valued and welcome. It's an absolute credit to you all. And with that, a big shout to all of those who listened and danced to our deeper disco flavours. I'm sure we'll be seeing you around the traps again soon! Here is the first part of the recording from our four-hour stint; the second is now available at: https://soundcloud.com/andrewfazzolari/attic-hosts-the-maze-at-sash-12th-february-2017-part-two We played tunes and remixes from the likes of Finnebassen, Soul Minority, Fouk, Frits Wentink, Luvless, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Junktion, Daniel Leseman, Andy Hart, Black Loops, Earl Jeffers, Dr. Packer and DJ Koze, to name just a few. We hope you enjoy the mix! Until next time...

Dan Marciano - Bad Radios (Yamil remix) - Natural Rhythm. Dan Marciano is about to become the worst-kept secret in dance music. It is about emotion and passion.”

The Mariana Trench is part of the Izu-Bonin-Mariana Arc convergent boundary system that forms the boundary between two tectonic plates. In this system, the western edge of one plate, the Pacific Plate, is subducted beneath the smaller Mariana Plate that lies to the west. Because the Pacific plate is the largest of all the tectonic plates on Earth, crustal material at its western edge has had a long time since formation (up to 170 million years) to compact and become very dense; hence its great height-difference relative to the higher-riding Mariana Plate, at the point where the Pacific Plate crust is subducted. This deep area is the Mariana Trench proper. The movement of these plates is also indirectly responsible for the formation of the Mariana Islands (which are caused by volcanism as a result of subduction of water trapped in minerals). Enjoy.
