WARNING: This interview contains spoilers to the movies Najarra Townsend is such a wonderful actress; I am still star struck from speaking to her about her role as Samantha in two of my favorite films. If anyone has not seen these two films, I highly recommend watching them because Najarra carries the role as Samantha throughout the entire movies making the audience connect with her, helping the viewers understand what she is experiencing which made me develop a soft spot for Samantha. Envision someone who was wrongfully subjected to someone's guilty pleasure. Samantha goes through the stages of grief, loss, and anger and yet she continues her life as if nothing ever happened. And yet, the assailant is never identified or caught. That's a bit damn frustrating if you ask me. What does this movie and Najarra's character represent? Are the movies representations or metaphors of the dangers of unprotected sex? How are STDs easily spread if you are not cautious? It depends on how you look at it from director's and writer's perspective. Overall, both films are excellent, and I would love to see a third adaptation to carry on from the first two. If you are into zombies and someone who is hellbent on getting revenge, these movies are definitely for you. STEWART WADE From a young age, Stewart Wade knew he wanted to tell stories. He performed skits in the backyard for his captive parents and friends, and attempted his first novel at age ten.  A bit later, Stewart tried his hand at poetry, short stories, and playwriting, ultimately getting a Master's degree in Theater, Film and Television from UCLA.    After a few years in the Hollywood trenches, Stewart wrote and directed his first feature film, Coffee Date, starring Wilson Cruz, Jonathan Silverman,  Sally Kirkland, Elaine Hendrix, Jason Stuart, and Debbie Gibson. The movie garnered numerous awards and received a limited theatrical release, ultimately playing in rotation for a year on MTV's LOGO channel. His next movie, Tru Loved, starred Najarra Townsend and Jake Abel, and featured Jasmine Guy, Alexandra Paul, Alec Mapa, Cynda Williams, Bruce Vilanch, Nichelle Nichols, Vernon Wells -- and Jane Lynch. James and Chris sit down with experienced actor Najarra Townsend and discuss her career, tips for working with actors, and the differences between micro-budget and low-budget movies. Najarra knew what she wanted to do in life by the time she was three. She started modeling and also performing in local stage productions, continuing to be deeply involved in both theater and musical productions throughout her childhood and teenage years. At ten, she made her big screen debut co-starring in the film "Menace". Najarra's performance in the Sundance and Cannes award winning "Me and You and Everyone We Know" in 2005 drew international notice. She has played the titular character in various films, including: "Tru Loved", "Marin Blue", "Betty I am" and has appeared in various other indie favorites. In 2014, audiences got to see a new side of the young actress in the IFC Midnight horror hit "Contracted". Najarra hopes to continue to devote her life to these things she loves and that inspire her.
