Send us a textEpisode Description:Habits can either be your best friend or your sneakiest saboteur when it comes to making life pivots. In this episode, I break down why developing good habits is key to equipping and strengthening you for change. Plus, I share three practical (and doable!) tips to help you build habits that actually stick. From starting small to habit stacking to finding your “why,” this episode is packed with tools to help you turn small actions into big wins. And yes, we'll have a few laughs along the way—because habits don't have to be boring. So, grab your coffee, your journal, or whatever you need, and let's pivot toward prosperity together. My example of compound interest is not original. I had heard it somewhere in my learning journey but am sorry that I don't know who to credit it to. Please forgive me for that. What You'll Learn in This Episode:Why habits are the foundation for any successful life pivot. The power of starting small (hint: think 5 minutes instead of 5 miles). How habit stacking can help you build momentum without overhauling your routine. Why connecting your habit to a meaningful “why” makes all the difference.Practical Tips from This Episode:Start Ridiculously Small: Begin with a habit so easy it's almost impossible to fail.Use Habit Stacking: Tie your new habit to something you already do daily.Find Your "Why": Make your habit meaningful by connecting it to a purpose that excites you. Dr. Cook sits down for a conversation with Assistant Principal Becky Aylor and Allie McIntosh, a senior at Mountain View, to discover why the school thought this change was needed and how it's going so far. Send us a textI believe that "Pivot Guilt" is a real thing. We make decisions in life and sometimes, those decisions have impact on others. And for many of us, knowing that, eats at us significantly. It could be us choosing to leave a relationship, a friendship that is causing us pain, or maybe a job or organization that isn't right for us any longer. Many times, these pivots make out lives better, hopefully, but can also hurt others in the wake. This is a real thing and something we have to understand. Sadly, some people allow the pain of others to keep them stuck in their own misery because they want to avoid hurting others. I get that. Most of us get no pain out of hurting others. But we have to understand that making necessary pivots can do exactly that. And for those of us who really care about other people...well...that can make us feel all kinds of guilt. So, in this episode of the Pivot to Prosper podcast, I want to tackle the subject of PIVOT GUILT. Want me to be your coach? When Marc and Emma move into their new house, they have no idea that in the 1970s, their basement was a gay nightclub which had been destroyed by fire and that the house itself is now haunted by the ghosts of five gay and mischievous clubbers.
