After success in many other states, the government initiative 'SafeScript' was recently launched in NSW (in the ACT it is called 'Canberra Script') - a very valuable tool to assist practitioners when prescribing patients with certain high-risk medicines, known as monitored medicines. This initiative allows prescribers and pharmacists to access real-time information about their patient's use and potential misuse of these monitored medicines. Join dentist Dr Patrick Meaney as he unpacks all the facts of SafeScript with clinical pharmacist Dr Geraldine Moses. Safescript NSW and Canberra Script are two new versions of Australia's national Real Time Prescription Monitoring or RTPM scheme. These programs provide information to dentists about their patients' access to medicines prone to misuse, abuse or diversion. More information on the RTPM scheme can be found in NSW Dentist Magazine, July edition 2022.

In the United Arab Emirates, there is no general duty for employees to disclose wrongdoing in a company, but as the podcast participants highlight, introducing effective speak up programs and whistleblowing protections are essential to well-functioning compliance programs and to mitigate risks. Freshfields' global investigations lawyer Zara Merali in Dubai is joined by Patrick Meaney, Head of Enforcement at the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Anjam Jalal, Associate Director, Enforcement at the DFSA, and Shiraz Sethi, Regional Head of Employment at Dentons to discuss the challenges, laws, best practices and future directions of whistleblowing in the UAE and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), with Patrick and Anjam providing a regulatory point of view.
Chris Claremont came to Marvel as a young man, and was assigned a book that no one else wanted, a book on the brink of cancellation: X-Men. Over the next 17 years, his work on the title turned it into the biggest franchise in comic book history. Forty years later, his work has been adapted into 10 films, three TV series, countless video games and become a part of our cultural mythology.

Twenty years ago, seven superstar artists left Marvel Comics to create their own company, Image Comics, a company that continues to influence mainstream comics and pop culture to this day. Image began as more than just a publisher - it was a response to years of creator mistreatment, and changed comics forever. The Image Revolution tells the story of Image Comics, from its founders' work at Marvel, through Image's early success, company difficulties during the comics market implosion, and ultimately the publisher's new generation of properties like The Walking Dead. Filled with colorful characters, the film is a clarion call to artists to take control of their destiny. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/underthehorrorreviewshow/message

On this episode, we're taking a look at director Patrick Meaney's documentary "Chris Claremont's X-Men," now available on Amazon Prime. The doc takes an in-depth look at Claremont's long original run on the X-Men books, honoring his legacy and mourning a business model that evolved beyond him. We share our thoughts on the movie, as well as offer our own takes on Claremont and his undeniable place in X-Men history. Yo Doccalo! Call Bob a Giving Tree because he continues to give back to the little people. Akil got to pick, especially after that episode of Bill Murray docs we did, and he picked some hot nerd shit. A story of our childhood. Back to an era that might have been the first time that a pack of comic dorks were considered cool. Now nerd bullshit is everywhere, but this nerd bullshit was EDGY, bro! An era completely inaccessible to women. For good reason. It’s the story of a comic book company that isn’t the first two comic book companies you think of. Akil and Bob watched Patrick Meaney’s “The Image Revolution”. Seven comic artists that made Marvel a lot of money decided to bail and start a company that consisted of a collection of seven independent publishing companies. Mostly bad comics, Drama, Mistakes, and an evolution into some of the best comics on the shelves today. Bob and Akil actually know waaaaay too much about this. I think this can be found on Prime or Tubi. Keep on Doccin’. www.documenteerspodcast.com Here’s the trailer. It's a brand new Geektown Radio, and this week, along with the usual tv new and UK TV premiere info, we're all about the movies! Not only do we break down this year's Oscars, but we also have an interview with film director & writer Patrick Meaney.Patrick is an award-winning filmmaker who has explored the art of storytelling documentary films like 'Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods', 'Neil Gaiman: Dream Dangerously' and 'The Image Revolution'. His films have appeared on Netflix, Starz, Hulu and Amazon Prime, and have played at festivals around the world. He also co-created the comic book series 'Last Born' for Black Mask Studios.'House of Demons' is his first narrative feature as a director, and follows Gwen, Matthew, Katrina, and Spencer. They were best friends for years, until a terrible tragedy tore them apart, and left all of them in a state of arrested development. What they don't know is in the late 60s, the house was home to a Manson Family-like cult, run by Frazer, a charismatic former scientist pushing the boundaries of human consciousness. His experiments echo through time and manifest everyone's darkest fears and memories before them as time blurs and Frazer's cult and the present day collide. Over the course of one long night, everyone must confront their darkness or be destroyed by it.The film stars Amber Benson ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer'), Kaytlin Borgen ('Hawaii Five-0'), Morgan Peter Brown ('Castle', 'Parks and Recreation'), Dove Meir ('DIG'), Chloe Dykstra ('Heroes of Cosplay'), Tiffany Smith ('DC All Access'), Taliesin Jaffe ('Critical Role'), Whitney Moore ('Birdemic'), and Jeff Torres ('Pitch').Also On This Week's Show:As we're covering the movies, it seems only right to have our film reviewer Gray return as co-host. Very shortly, after a year of pre-production, interview gathering and editing, filmmakers Patrick Meaney and Jordan Rennert will be releasing their CHRIS CLAREMONT'S X-MEN documentary, via the Sequart Organisation. This fascinating hour-long film talks to pretty much all of the major players of Claremont's incredible over-seventeen-year run on Marvel Comics' flagship comics, producing some of the most iconic stories and characters in the medium, from the DARK PHOENIX Saga to DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and much more. As part of the promotion for this documentary release, AEISD's Leonard Sultana was lucky enough to take part in a phone interview about the film, about the influence of the amazing women that surrounded Chris through his X-Men tenure as editors, about the challenge of creating compelling and enduring comics year-in year-out, about the bitterness of his departure from the titles and the legacy not only of the X-Men but also his own contributions. Thanks to Dan Berry for the initial contact with the film promotion company, to Emily Sharp of Big Time PR for setting up this interview, and of course to Chris Claremont himself for his generous time.
