Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been ballin' at the 2023 FIBA World Cup in the Philippines this summer. We could not be more excited because, you see, we fell for this Certified Blazers Cutie years ago. First, when he was drafted by the Blazers in 2015 and immediately traded to Brooklyn for Mason Plumlee and Pat Connaughton, and again in 2021 when the Blazers signed him to multiple 10 day contracts before their season fizzled out with a first round loss to Denver. In this re-run of a WHAT pod classic you'll hear a "WHAT about" Episode where Cassidy (so fun to hear her once again!) and Tara get to know the newest players including RHJ before he became king of the (FIBA) World (Cup). Also in this episode: Cassidy (@cassidyfense) and Tara are in their feels about a week in which the Blazers won a game by 48 points (April 3 vs OKC) and also had 47 points scored on them in the first quarter (April 6 vs Clippers). Oh Rip City the more things change the more they stay the same! Remember when Tara had given up on dunks? Plus, get to know Norman Powell and TJ Leaf (remember when he was a Blazer?) The Chester Connection, a powerful yet fleeting hope we once had that two guys from Chester, PA (Derrick Jones Jr and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson) might connect for an alley-oop. Tara and Rose will be back in a few weeks! Hope you enjoy this blast from the past! Join us on Discord! It's a place where we can share our love for the Blazers, talk about games, and get to know other Blazer fans. Kind of like Twitter but it's not. There are different channels with different topics and you can join in where you want, and ignore the stuff you don't want to see. Give it a try! The Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic have some recent playoff history and this game was tight throughout. This game could have went either way early but the Raptors' bench sparked a huge run and created some separation. The combination of RHJ, Davis and Boucher have become household names for Raptor fans. They have played with high energy and are relentless on the defensive end. The Magic were still fighting the Raptors all game long but after Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon both go down with ankle injuries, it seemed tough for a comeback. Fred VanVleet led the team with his solid play and was the best player on the floor. Tune in for the quick reaction and full breakdown.
