Nearly 70% of Russian crude production and exports are now under sanctions, raising costs and slowing settlements even though only 5% of exports use US dollars. Russia has relied on offshore traders and new entities to maintain flows, but this is more challenging for major producers like Rosneft and Lukoil. Indian imports may fall by 400 kbd, while Chinese flows should remain steady. Over time, Russia can redirect up to 0.8 mbd to other markets and China could absorb an additional 1 mbd, but profit margins will narrow due to higher costs and deeper discounts. Export volumes are expected to stabilize within a quarter after an initial pause. Speaker: Natasha Kaneva, Head of Global Commodities Research This podcast was recorded on October 24, 2025. Gold's recent pullback from record highs may be just what investors need to justify getting in on the action. Christian Briggs says profit-taking is likely to blame for the short-term dip, but don't expect it to last long-term. With gold up 300% over the past 5 years, Briggs believes it's due for a correction, but he's still bullish on the precious metal's long-term prospects.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Donald Trump did not win the Nobel Peace Prize, as he boasted he should for supposedly being the “peace President” - a claim we've debunked numerous times on this show. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said that the Nobel Committee “places politics over peace” - which actually does have some truth to it, like a broken clock does twice a day. The award was instead given to María Corina Machado, a Venezuelan “opposition” leader hell-bent on overthrowing the government of Nicolás Maduro. Her party, Vente Venezuela, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Israeli Likud party, and in 2019 she posted on X that “The struggle of Venezuela is the struggle of Israel.”In Gaza, Palestinians celebrated in the streets upon hearing the news of the ceasefire, and are beginning to return to the north. While they are finding their homes largely reduced to rubble, they are vowing to rebuild and reestablish their lives in their homeland. As the remaining Israeli captives are being traded for thousands of Palestinian political prisoners, hundreds of whom were held in Israel for much longer than two years, the ceasefire deal also calls for Israel to allow hundreds of humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza daily. The ceasefire was won first and foremost by the resistance and resilience of the Palestinian people, and by the solidarity movement across the world that did not let Palestine out of the spotlight for the past two years. But Israel is already going back on some of the terms, killing at least five Palestinians in Shujaiya on Tuesday who were going to check on their homes. The occupying forces also announced they will not actually allow for the aid that it agreed to as part of the ceasefire to be let into Gaza. This situation is quickly developing, and what happens next may also open a new phase in the solidarity movement, and we'll get into many of the questions about how the movement should go forward and what these changes mean.Support the show

Welcome to The Times of Israel’s Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what’s happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Military correspondent Emanuel Fabian joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today’s episode. On Tuesday, Israel targeted leaders from the Hamas terror group gathering in Qatar who were reportedly there to discuss a new ceasefire proposal put forward by Trump’s administration. Yesterday, Netanyahu appeared to acknowledge that the missile strike had failed to kill the targeted leaders. Fabian brings us new information on how the strike was carried out. Following an evacuation warning, the IDF says it struck a high-rise tower in Gaza City that was being used by Hamas. Just after recording time, two more 10- to 15-story buildings were demolished, in each case after civilians were warned by the IDF to evacuate. We learn about why the IDF is targeting these buildings and how they are taken down. A drone launched by the Houthis in Yemen was intercepted by Israeli air defenses near Ramon Airport in southern Israel this morning. Last week, a drone launched by Yemen’s Houthis evaded air defenses and smashed into the Ramon Airport terminal. Fabian speaks about the Houthis’ new targeting tactic and its results so far. Israeli soldiers raided the home of Palestinian activist and Oscar-winning director Basel Adra in the southern West Bank yesterday after two Israelis were injured by stone throwing in the area, according to the military. Adra told The Associated Press that before the army raid, Israeli settlers had attacked his village of at-Tuwani, injuring two of his brothers and one cousin. Fabian discusses how these “he said-he said” attacks are all too common. To close the program, we turn to last week’s violent terror attacks in Jerusalem and Kibbutz Tzuba. Fabian explains how intensive IDF efforts in the West Bank have brought attacks of this nature to almost zero — but that there is a steep price to be paid. Check out The Times of Israel's ongoing liveblog for more updates. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling that cleared the way for the release of Jeffrey Epstein's Florida grand jury documents was a landmark moment in the long fight for transparency. The court essentially rejected the government's attempts to keep the lid on crucial records that could shed light on how Epstein's 2006 case was handled and, more importantly, how the infamous 2007 Non-Prosecution Agreement was engineered. By greenlighting their potential release, the judges signaled that the public interest in understanding the inner workings of Epstein's sweetheart deal outweighed the government's habitual reliance on secrecy. It was a rare rebuke to the Department of Justice, which has consistently dragged its feet or outright resisted efforts to expose its complicity in protecting Epstein.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Epstein Docs - DocumentCloud

A massive tax and spending bill is now law – but with half a year left, Congress now can turn its attention to getting whole milk back in schools, NMPF's Paul Bleiberg said in a Dairy Defined podcast. “One item I'll single out first that we're hopeful to get done really in the next couple months here is the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act,” Bleiberg, NMPF's executive vice president for government relations, said in a podcast released today. “We had a great voice vote, bipartisan voice vote out of the Senate Agriculture Committee just over a month ago, so we're hoping that we can get that through the Senate and then through the House, and begin that work of getting whole milk and 2% milk back into schools and getting kids better access to the nutrient-dense dairy options that really give them the benefits they need and that they enjoy.”Bleiberg also discussed efforts toward agricultural labor reform, the farm bill provisions included in current law and NMPF's policy priorities for the rest of the year. Church Scandals Aren't Random: How Ignorance Paves the Way for More Harm A Funny, Painful Story (That's Actually Very Relevant) Before we dive into heavy stuff, let me tell you a story. 4 weeks and 2 days ago... Picture this: I'm flat on my back, in the middle of the street, 20 feet away from a car that thankfully didn't roll over me. I'm convinced something's stabbing into my heart. Pain is shooting through my body in so many places. A kind lady rushes from her porch to help me hobble to safety while the ambulance is called. As I wait there's constant pain, but when I move in certain ways it suddenly becomes utterly excruciating. No idea what I hit. No idea what actually happened. Things were going great for the two hours I was on my OneWheel before the accident. What the heck happened? And what is happening now? Some neighbor kids stop and check in. I ask them to pray for me and I lead them in a prayer in Jesus name... that was a comfort from strangers. The ambulance finally arrives -- after it seems like forever -- and load me onto a stretcher. They were sure I dislocated my shoulder and were insisting to pull me up. I knew that wasn't what was wrong. I was embarrassingly vocal about not being helped up. I seemed to feel every single pothole on the way to hospital. Arriving in the hospital... the random excruciating shoots through my chest continued -- oh, and so did my resulting involuntary screams. (No recordings were taken, thank God :) So, the morphine helped and the oxy-whatever they gave me next. But what really changed everything was the x-rays. They finally discover the truth: My clavicle was snapped clean through. Knowing what was actually wrong changed everything. I finally had clarity. I finally had a path toward healing — real healing — not just numbing the pain. I finally could understand how to move in a way that avoided the excruciating pain and actually kept things in place to heal most effectively. THIS is what's happening in the Church right now. We have an injury. It's bad. Really, really, really bad. But instead of diagnosing it, we often just take some spiritual "morphine" — slap on platitudes, excuses, or cover-ups — and hope healing happens. It doesn't. Tragically, thousands of new cases are reported yearly... in the church of Jesus Christ around the world. This is horrifying. And the Church's sexual scandals are not random. They are not "one-off" tragedies. They are the result of deep, hidden roots — an injury we have to address if we want healing. Church Hurt: Ignoring the Pain Doesn't Heal It If I had ignored my broken clavicle, kept "powering through," or simply taken painkillers to numb it? It would have actually healed wrong.Permanently damaged.Maybe even required major surgery to fix later. The Church is at that critical moment. If we don't stop and x-ray the damage — truly diagnose the underlying break — it won't just stay bad. It will get worse. That's why these scandals feel endless. They are symptoms of deeper problems never addressed. Church Scandals Are Not Random Accidents The fall of a pastor or leader is often treated like a shocking, isolated event. "He must have just slipped up!""It was a moment of weakness!" But the truth is, these scandals follow patterns. Unchecked small compromises.Isolation.A culture that produces an environment where pastors must be superhuman. Double lives hidden by fear and shame.Lack of sexual stewardship. These are not random falls. These are predictable results of invisible fractures left untreated. The Enemy Wants Our Ignorance Satan thrives when we stay ignorant. When we don't know the roots, we can't heal them. When we don't expose the darkness, it festers and infects the Body of Christ. Paul makes it clear we shouldn't be ignorant of how the enemy attacks: "In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes." (2 Cor 2:11) Jesus warns us: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." (John 10:10) When sexual sin in leadership is ignored, minimized, or hidden, it does exactly that:Steals faith.Kills trust.Destroys credibility. We must be wise.We must stop assuming "it could never happen here."We must learn how to recognize the roots before they bloom into ruin. Why Sexual Sin Wounds So Deeply & How to Heal Sexual sin isn't "just another mistake."Biblically, it's in a category of its own: "Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18) When a leader sins sexually, it's a double wound: Personal: They defile their own body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Corporate: They shatter the credibility of the Gospel they once preached. People who were already fragile in their faith see hypocrisy... and walk away not just from a leader, but from Jesus, Himself. The wound runs deep. But Jesus takes it seriously. Jesus didn't say: "Try not to look at porn if you can." "Lust is understandable, just don't act on it." No. He said: "If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out... It's better to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." (Matthew 5:29) Jesus used extreme language because sexual sin matters that much. We should not downplay what Jesus took so seriously. When leaders indulge in pornography, prostitution, or affairs, they are objectifying someone God created. That woman on a screen is a daughter of the King of Kings. A daughter who He even gave His only son to save. Cover-Ups Are Spiritual Oxycodone It's easier to slap a spiritual Band-Aid over a scandal than face the ugly truth. "Let's quietly remove him." "Let's not make a big deal; it might hurt the church's reputation." "Let's just forgive and move on." That's spiritual oxycodone — numbing the pain without healing the break. Without truth and exposure, the infection worsens. The pattern repeats.More people get hurt. Real love doesn't ignore cancer.Real love demands we discover it and deal with it. That's actual love. And Exposure Alone Isn't Enough Here's the other mistake:Thinking that "going public" fixes the problem. It doesn't. Exposure without a healing plan leaves broken people bleeding in the streets. Just like my broken clavicle needed realignment, time, careful handling and care — fallen leaders (and hurting congregations) need intentional healing journeys. Healing isn't automatic. It's hard. It takes time. It takes wisdom. It takes safe people. But it's possible. Healing the Church Starts with Us You may be a small group leader.A volunteer.A pastor's wife.A youth mentor.A faithful Sunday worshiper. You are part of the Body. And when one part is sick, the whole body suffers. We cannot afford to shrug and say, "Not my problem." The future witness of the Church depends on believers who are awake, wise, and willing to act. The Band-Aid Problem Let me just say it plainly: Covering up a church scandal with "just pray for him" or "let's not talk about it" is like slapping a Batman-themed Band-Aid on a bullet wound and sending the guy back into battle. On January 6, 2021, we watched on live television as Donald Trump and several Republican members of Congress incited a violent attempted overthrow of our democracy. This insurrection led to several deaths, including police officers who later died by suicide. When Joe Biden was sworn in as President in January 2021, Democrats controlled both chambers of Congress. Instead of using their time in power to pass a resolution or bill banning Trump and his supporters from holding office under the 14th Amendment's "insurrection clause" (Section 3), they held hearings that concluded with a report and a referral to the Department of Justice for possible criminal prosecution. In the 2022 midterms, Democrats lost the House due to America's worsening gerrymandering crisis. Attorney General Merrick Garland waited two years to appoint Special Prosecutor Jack Smith. While some credit the Democrats' January 6 committee for prompting Garland to take action, the reality is that both Democrats and Garland wasted valuable time. In the four years since January 6, 2021, no resolution or bill was passed in Congress to enforce the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment. Instead, a group of voters and legal experts attempted to bar Trump from the ballot in Colorado, leading to legal cases such as Trump v. Anderson. In early 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that states could not bar federal candidates, and that applying the 14th Amendment was up to Congress. So, why didn't Democrats act in 2021 and 2022 when they had two years to enforce the U.S. Constitution? We need an honest accounting of how an insurrectionist will be president just four years after leading a violent attempt to overthrow our democracy. Democrats deferred to Merrick Garland, who then deferred to Jack Smith, who ultimately dismissed his Trump cases in November 2024, after Trump won one of the closest elections in U.S. history. This election took place amid rampant disinformation and the consolidation of far-right media, including Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter, turning it into a platform for (pro-Trump and Russia) disinformation–the largest in the world. At the same time, Republicans and the Supreme Court over the years undermined the Voting Rights Act and expanded voter ID laws–a modern day poll tax, disenfranchising 21 million Americans. As Andrea and Terrell discuss in this week's episode, the 2024 election was neither free nor fair. The institutions meant to protect us failed. As Gaslit Nation has long warned, an unpunished attempted coup leads to a successful one. The institutionalists and controlled opposition who enabled this crisis don't realize they are not safe either. Once a dictator is in power, no one can control them. We also point out that George Orwell warned us about fascist bootlickers like Trump/Musk fanboy Lex Fridman, whose three-hour interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky can be summed up by Orwell's quote: "Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind." Gaslit Nation officially calls on Lex Fridman to stop quoting Orwell on his podcast—Orwell would have hated you. Want to enjoy Gaslit Nation ad-free? During today's conversation on Back Porch Theology we're getting granular about the divine, salvific grace Paul riffs on early in his letter to the Romans. We're going to take a long pause in our collective amble down the Romans Road so as to marinate in the concept of justification. We're going to do an in-depth review of how the sinless life and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ made it possible for rebellious, sin-riddled yahoos like us to be reconciled with a perfectly righteous God. Because all too often we church folk tend to volley multi-syllabic theological terms like “justification” and “sanctification” and “propitiation” amongst ourselves like innocuous doctrinal pickle balls without giving too much thought to the grief and gravitas they represent. In much the same way we blithely wear crosses as mere jewelry or prominently display it in the form of a hip tattoo, forgetting what that Roman torture device – equivalent to a medieval guillotine or modern-day electric chair, which I can't imagine someone wearing as a fashion statement – represents…that the King of all kings chose to leave His throne in glory, condescend to human form and humble circumstances, only to be betrayed and abandoned by His closest friends and ultimately have stakes hammered into His feet and wrists so He could be suspended in the air like a human shish-kabob while a cruel mob jeered His torture and subsequent murder because Jesus knew His blood was the necessary price that had to be paid in order to justify – to make us right – with God. We're not going to skip past the hard facts of what He sacrificed for our redemption today y'all because quite honestly doing so mitigates the miracle of our salvation. So please grab a great big mug of strong coffee and your Bible – unless of course you're in the hot-wax stage of a manicure – and come ponder the audacious kindness of King Jesus on the porch with Alli, Dr. Howard and me.
