Episode 169 of The Letterman Podcast features not one, not two, but three of our favorite humans: legendary Late Show comedy writer Steve Young, our amazing sponsor and friend Rupert Jee, and his equally wonderful girlfriend Irene Hoffman.Steve recently debuted his brand-new one-man show, EGONT, at the sold-out Caveat Theater in New York City, performing much of this material live for the very first time. Rupert and Irene were in the audience, and Mike watched remotely—so the gang gathered for a fun, insightful chat about the show, its creative genesis, and what it felt like to bring it to life.Along the way, they also catch up on a few classic stories and even solve the mystery of SAGG peanut butter. Yes, really. And speaking of Rupert, don't forget that he still runs Hello-Deli.com, one of the only places left to snag official Late Show with David Letterman merchandise. So grab a shirt, a mug, and one for your best pal while you're at it.Now here comes the part where I grovel—please like, share, subscribe, and leave a positive comment so the algorithm will stop bullying me. Seriously, help a buddy out.#LettermanPodcast #DavidLetterman #SteveYoung #RupertJee #HelloDeli #LateShow #ComedyWriting #EGONT #CaveatTheater #SAGGPeanutButter #IreneHoffman

Lou, Phil, and Sagg give their picks against the spread for four out of market games and the two local games.
Lou, Phil, and Sagg get together just about 48 hours before the kickoff to the 2020 season between the Texans and the Chiefs to preview the upcoming NFL Season! They open up the show talking about which teams they are most excited to watch play this season. Then they go to the two local teams, and discuss if either the Jets or Giants have done enough in the offseason and training camp to be in playoff contention (22:00). Then, they predict the division winners and 3 Wild Card teams in both conferences, as well as Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and the MVP (47:45). And finally, they give their picks against the spread between the Texans and Chiefs (1:12:40)!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg open the show talking about the Mets, and how what they saw from them on defense was something they haven't seen in years! Should the Mets play like that more often? Also, they go around the league in baseball, what have we seen from teams that have surprised us early, and who has disappointed? Then they touch on the competition between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes on who throws the ball the furthest, who is the favorite? All that and more!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg are all together to talk some baseball! They open up recapping their fantasy draft that took place Sunday Night, and discussed the changes that have been made because of a shortened season. Then they move on to talk about the Mets and the Yankees after they played each other over the weekend. One team has their eyes set on a World Series, and the other team may need to temper expectations. Then they give their predictions for the MLB season. And to finish, they discuss which players produce at a high level but do not get the recognition they deserve. All that and more!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg get together virtually and record their 40th episode from 4 different locations! They preview the NFL Draft for the Giants and Jets. Should the Giants go OT or Simmons at 4? Should the Jets go WR or OT at 11? How many QBs will go in round 1 and should Herbert go over Tua? Which teams must nail this draft? Plus one guarantee and one BOLD prediction from each of the guys. All that and more!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg all get together to recap Free Agency Frenzy! Tom Brady goes to the Bucs, so what are their realistic expectations in Tampa? Tom Brady left the AFC East so what did the other teams in the division do and which moves did we like the most? We evaluate the WR trades and the slow market for the RBs right now including Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon. And to close, we talk New York Giants football!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg all got together to do their first live mock draft of the draft season. Then they move on to discuss the deepest position in fantasy baseball this year. And to wrap things up, they give their Week 2 XFL Picks against the spread!
Lou, Phil, and Sagg open the show talking about the huge trade that sent Mookie Betts to the Dodgers! We evaluated all aspects of the deal for all parties involved. Then we move on to the Mets, and Steve Cohen who is now reported to be backing out of his deal to buy the team because Jeff Wilpon wants more control. Then the guys talk about NBA trade deadline, and they discuss the move the Knicks should make and then the deal Lakers shouldn't make with the Knicks. And finally, a preview of the XFL and our picks for the slate of games this weekend!
Episode 34! The guys open up giving their instant reaction and recap to the Rangers vs. Islanders game that Nick just got back from to record the show. Then they move on to the news of the day which is Carlos Beltran and the Mets mutually agreeing to part ways. Then the guys name the player they believe people will be talking about on Monday after the two huge games on Sunday. And of course their NFL picks! P.S. there is some strong language because we are just so passionate about our teams, especially Sagg! Lol.
Lou, Phil, and Sagg close the year by recording a show just hours before the new year. They open up wrapping up the decade by discussing the most successful franchises the last 10 years. Also, they give their own Mount Rushmore of their favorite players from each major sport. Then they discuss the situation the New York Football Giants are in with their Head Coaching search. And finally, the guys preview the first weekend of the playoffs and give their picks!
The guys are without Sagg for this one so Pascal joined in on the fun! They open up discussing the hot debate on whether deGrom or Cole is the best pitcher in baseball. Plus, Mickey got fired so what should the Mets be looking for in their next manager? Also, do the Twins have any chance against the Yanks? Hockey season is back and Nick (our hockey expert) previews the 3 local squads. And of course, Week 5 in the NFL so we give our picks against the spread!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg return and as promised opened up talking about the Mets and what they should do at the trade deadline. Then they debated whether or not the Mets had a better chance of making the playoffs or the Yankees missing the playoffs. Plus, Lou and Phil collide with Nick and Sagg about a topic you wouldn't expect. Then to finish it off, Lou explains why paying running backs is a big mistake!
Sagg was unable to join us for this episode so Pascal filled in. But before we got to the Mets who are just a complete joke right now, we thought of giving inspirational speeches with each of us having a different scene, and they were pretty interesting to hear that's for sure! After a couple of the speeches and the Mets, we talk about the big trade by the Devils to get P.K. Subban and also the Rangers trading for Jacob Trouba, so we debate whether their rivalry is back on. Then to finish that off, Lou and Phil give their speeches.
Sagg started by hosting the beginning of the show for a change as we opened up talking about Syndergaard's injury and also going through all the "Met Killers". Then we move on to talk about the big Anthony Davis trade and how that will impact the rest of the league. Phil and Sagg then breakdown the upcoming NBA Draft before Lou and Nick breakdown the upcoming NHL Draft.
The four fellers go at it after a complicated beginning to the show. But after a crazy game 5 of the NBA finals, the guys recap everything that happened from start to finish, the KD injury and how the fans treated him, and how the injuries to the Warriors will affect the team for the rest of the series. Then Lou and Sagg predict what will end up happening in the Anthony Davis saga, plus we have the Subway Series, and the joke of the night goes to the baseball team that screwed their fans over!
Lou, Phil, Nick, and Sagg open the show talking about the Mets and just how bad they are, they discuss what has gone wrong, and whether Mickey Callaway will be gone soon. They give their candidates for who can possibly replace him. They also touch on the Jets GM situation and a little bit of the NBA playoffs.
Seconds after the NBA Draft Lottery, only Lou, Nick, and Sagg were able to give their reactions because Phil was so mad about the results. But the show opens up with Lou absolutely ripping the new lottery system and the New Orleans Pelicans, then Sagg and Nick jump in as they break down all that happened in Chicago, and now what the draft will look like come June.
