Annie Grace and Scott Pinyard tackle the controversial topic of finding substitutes for alcohol. Will drinking a non-alcoholic beverage trigger someone? What are the red flags to look ou for when considering alcohol substitutes? How can you make sure that you're safe to sample these beverages? Wouldn't it be great if our children never had to go through the pain and challenges we faced in our own relationship with alcohol? This is my greatest wish for my own kids and it's why I created the most important course I have ever offered — “How To Talk To Your Kids About Alcohol.” If you've struggled with alcohol and you're not sure what to tell your kids about it…If you want to create a relationship with your children that is based upon mutual respect, mutual trust, and open communication…If you know that this conversation is the most important talk you'll have with your children and it can't wait any longer…Then this course is for you. It includes lifetime access to six video modules, a bonus recorded Q&A session where I answer questions from parents just like you, an interactive workbook, and our private and exclusive How To Talk To Your Kids About Alcohol online community where you can connect with others who are also navigating this important conversation. Join Shelley and Scott answer listener's questions: Hello, here's my problem. I've been in sales for almost 20 years. One of the things that trips me up when I try to quit drinking is going to a sales conference. There is so much drinking it feels like a non-stop party. I don't really know how to function in those situations with alcohol and I usually end up drinking, even when I don't want to. How do I break this cycle? Life is absolutely nuts right now and I feel like the only thing that helps me keep it together is my nightly wine. But I know from being around This Naked Mind that wine isn't actually helping. How do I get a clearer picture of what wine is actually doing to me instead of what I see it doing for me? Are you realizing that there's something more? What's the best way to approach this conversation without sounding preachy or making it taboo. The main reason I drink is stress. I feel like so much revolves around me and my role as a mom. On this month's coaching episode, This Naked Mind Head Coach Scott Pinyard welcomes This Naked Mind Senior Coach Rebecca Snider. Rebecca shares some of her story and the struggles that led her to work with people who focus on wellness but feel stuck with alcohol as well as mothers raising families. Then, she and Scott answer these three great questions: Four of my colleagues gave up alcohol for 30 days. It was easy for them. When I tried it, I only made it a few days and now I'm drinking more. What do I do? I feel like when I first set a goal, I do well. But then I lose momentum. What am I doing wrong? Why are some triggers stronger than others and how can I get past them? And, finally, Scott tosses his signature curveball question to Rebecca. Hi, it's Annie Grace. I wanted to interrupt this podcast, I guess the end of this podcast, to say that if you are totally serious about actually truly and forevermore transforming your relationship with alcohol, really leaving it behind in the rear view mirror for once and forever, and changing your psychology about it, we have a program called The PATH that is created specifically for you. Now it's not for you if you are still dabbling or still trying to figure out where you want to be or maybe even still want to moderate. All those things are fine, but if you are beyond that and you're like, "No, I just want to be done with this. I'm ready to invest some time and I'm ready to just make this happen." On this month’s coaching episode, This Naked Mind Head Coach Scott Pinyard welcomes This Naked Mind Senior Coach Rob Wolman as his guest host. After a brief discussion about Rob’s specialized approach to shifting your mindset, they answer two great questions: How do people quit drinking among those who are continuing to drink? Can we talk about how many times I've tried to quit? How can I shake the feeling that trying this is just a waste of time? And, finally, Scott tosses his signature curveball question to Rob. So, if you asked me about the one thing that makes This Naked Mind so different from anything else I would have to say emotion. Is the emotion people feel when they're really ready to make a change, when they've had that mindset shift, when they've gone through all the materials and the methodology, and they get this feeling that they're never going to get to drink again, they let that go and they think, "Oh my gosh, I never have to drink again." That change in emotion. And honestly, according to all sorts of new research, it is emotion, especially positive emotion more than anything else that predicates how long a change in our behavior will stick, how long it will last. It's emotion. And so when you feel excited about a change in your life, when you're thrilled, you're making this new different change instead of feeling deprived or like you've been missing out, everything changes. And that's really what makes This Naked Mind stick for the long-term. That's what makes it so different is we focus on how you feel and truly change your emotion around drinking. And if that sounds interesting to you, I want you to check out our self guided PATH at nakedmindpath.com. Enrollment in this program is closing on June 11th. So you don't want to miss it. It's closing now. And this is the path to changing your emotion and changing your feelings so that you can really truly find freedom in your relationship with alcohol. And as always, rate, review, and subscribe to this podcast as it helps the message reach somebody who might need to hear it today. Episode Links: Learn More About Rob

How can I explain my situation to people? How do you manage a partner who doesn't want to cut back on their alcohol consumption? With COVID I feel like I’ve lost my life; I am alcohol free but really starting to struggle - do you have any tips for how to deal with where I am right now? And, finally, Scott tosses his signature curveball question to Pam. Let me ask you a question. What is better than change? Lasting change, of course. If you've had trouble making change stick, either with alcohol or in any other area of your life, you are in for a treat. I created the 100 Days of Lasting Change to ensure that we don't just change for a moment, but we truly transform for a lifetime. This program is so close to my heart. When I am home I am completely committed to a healthy lifestyle. When I travel for work, I still find healthy food options but alcohol is always a challenge. How can I stay on track on the road? I am about to quit drinking. What supplements should I take? Why am I able to take a break from drinking but always fail when I try to moderate? And, finally, Scott tosses his signature curveball question to Teri. Hi, it's Annie Grace. How do you deal with stress when there’s no alcohol to take off the edge? And, finally, they close the episode with a new feature Scott has added called “The Big Question.” Hi, it's Annie Grace. I wanted to interrupt this podcast, I guess the end of this podcast, to say that if you are totally serious about actually truly and forevermore transforming your relationship with alcohol, really leaving it behind in the rear view mirror for once and forever more, and changing your psychology about it, we have a program called The PATH that is created specifically for you. Now it's not for you if you are still dabbling or still trying to figure out where you want to be or maybe even still want to moderate. All those things are fine, but if you are beyond that and you're like, "No, I just want to be done with this. I'm ready to invest some time and I'm ready to just make this happen." I want you to check out nakedmindpath.com, and join us in The PATH where you can truly make this lasting change you want in your life. It’s time for this month’s coaching questions with This Naked Mind head coach Scott Pinyard! In today’s episode, Scott talks about dealing with the temptation of drinking to celebrate as we emerge from quarantine, getting past the “brick wall” that keeps showing up at five days alcohol free, why some people are addicted to alcohol and others can control it, and whether or not the lessons we learn to stop drinking can be used for other things. I'm so excited you guys, because we are just about to start another live alcohol experiment. On today’s episode, This Naked Mind head coach Scott Pinyard dives into four terrific questions, some specific to not drinking during the COVID-19 pandemic - they are: The longer we stay home, the more intense my cravings become; what can I do to stray strong? I think I’m ready to quit drinking but with the pandemic am I just setting myself up to fail? I was 30 days alcohol free when we started quarantining and I caved when I got anxious; how can I turn my anger into motivation? I did the Live Alcohol Experiment but as soon as it ended I felt to pull to drink; how can I stay motivated beyond the 30 days? Right now, for the first time ever, I am doing something that I think you will find incredibly valuable and amazing. Here's the thing, I've been asking myself, why do some people effortlessly stop drinking while other people struggle? Why do some people who haven't drank in years still miss it, still feel like they're missing out, still even feel a little self-pity? Why can't I do that anymore? What's going on? What's the difference? The thing is these questions have kept me up at night and I have spent years now diving into the science, diving into literally hundreds of interviews and thousands and thousands of surveys of feedback from people trying to understand why. What makes it different? I think I finally really understand it. And I've put all of this together into something that I believe is one of the best things I've ever created. It is a modular membership program that is coach-led so that people can find freedom faster. I read recently that the average time from when somebody recognizes a problem with alcohol to when they solve it can be up to 15 years. I know that I get thousands of emails with people saying, "Man, I'm so happy I found your work. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner." So I wanted to put everything I've known so far, all of the research, all of the interviews, all of your experiences, all of the stories into this coach-led program that is truly customizable for you. So if you need it for a month and you find your freedom, great. But if you need to be with us for longer, that's also fine. Right now, for a limited time, this program is at a massive discount just because I recognize what's going on with the world. So if you are at all curious about this and you want to know more and you're ready to really make alcohol small and irrelevant in your life, once and for good to not only where you're not drinking, not stopping just at the behavior of drinking, but actually where it feels effortless not to drink. Where it feels easy, where you never feel like you're missing out, where you always actually feel like you're more joyful and happier. I know that's hard to believe, and it was for me too, but it's okay if you're skeptical. It works anyway. If you're curious about this at all, check it out, nakedmindpath.com. It's open right now. It's closing May 31st. So if you want to get in on this first-ever launch of this coach-led program, that is totally modular, that you can come and take as much time or as little time as you need to truly make alcohol small and irrelevant in your life, join me. nakedmindpath.com. I can't wait to see you there. And as always, rate, review, and subscribe to this podcast as it truly helps the message reach somebody who might need to hear it today.
