Joe and Ash are back in the studio with a former teammate who lit up the Premier League with his explosive, direct style. Former Chelsea, Manchester City, and QPR winger Shaun Wright-Phillips joins the lads for the latest episode of Football's Greatest: Could It Be Magic? Shaun reveals how Mourinho's tactical genius played out in real time with his plan to stop Ronaldo in the 2007 FA Cup final, Shaun's first-ever cup final appearance. He opens up about the early influences that shaped his unique playing style - the very style that caught José Mourinho's eye and led to his move to Chelsea. He also reflects on his journey to becoming a pro, overcoming rejection, and what it was like growing up with Arsenal icon Ian Wright as a father. Meanwhile, Joe shares an unforgettable story about how Shaun's arrival at Chelsea, adding even more competition in attack, led to a clash with AC Milan enforcer Gennaro Gattuso. Beyond Shaun's career, the guys dive into this year's FA Cup quarter-finals and discuss why the competition is wide open for teams looking to make history. All this and more in the latest episode of Football's Greatest: Could It Be Magic? Shaun joins Steven to talk about his incredible sporting career, the legacy living on through his family and what the future holds for the Wright-Phillips name, and how the game of football is changing. KEY TAKEAWAYS It's not enough to take the name you're given and lean on the history behind it. You have to put your own stamp on history. You have to try to do even better than those who came before you. The one thing you can't teach is raw talent. There are certain skills that are born into you, and that cannot be taught by any coach. There needs to be room for human error in football, especially when it comes to officiating. It adds to the drama and stokes debate, which is what keeps passion alive. Two games left to play, and City need four points to be Premier League champions again. A 5-1 win away at Wolves on Wednesday edged City closer to the title. Kevin De Bruyne scored four – including a first-half treble all scored with his weaker left foot. It was masterclass from the Belgian. Raheem Sterling added a fifth late on from close range. It was a superb performance. De Bruyne's hat-trick within 24 minutes is the third earliest scored from the start of a match in Premier League history. It's a crowded field but this may well have been his best performance of the season. It means City have scored ten goals in our last two Premier League matches. We are three points ahead of second placed Liverpool and our goal difference is superior by seven. After the game, we heard from De Bruyne and Guardiola – and joining us in the Matchday Live studio were Shaun Goater and Shaun Wright-Phillips. An all-time Champions League classic. Manchester City 4-3 Real Madrid, with more of the same likely next week at the Santiago Bernabeu. It was a breath-taking night at the Etihad on Tuesday as City beat Real Madrid in our semi-final first leg. Quite how we will only go to Spain with a one-goal lead is anyone's guess. City were far superior. It was a pulsating match – one which was impossible to take your eyes off. City raced a two-goal lead – the first time in Champions League history Real Madrid had conceded two in the opening 11 minutes of a game – before Karim Benzema halved the deficit before half time. Phil Foden made it 3-1 and became only the second English player to score in a Champions League semi-final before the age off 22, before Vinicus Jnr again got one back for Real. Bernardo Silva made it 4-2 before Benzema struck again. After the game, we heard from Pep Guardiola and Ruben Dias – and joining us in the Matchday Live studio were Shaun Goater and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Some wins feel like more than simply three points and that was the case as City beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday. Against a side fighting for their lives and much improved after a change of manager, City managed to beat Everton with a single goal, scored by Phil Foden with just nine minutes of normal time reaming. It felt like a hugely significant day. With defeat last time out against Tottenham reducing our lead at the top of the Premier League table to three points, victory on Merseyside felt vital. Everton made it incredibly hard for us, but we showed real fighting quality and deserved the win. There's no doubt about it: the final three months of the season are going to be tense, every game now of huge significance in both league and cup competitions. City made it six wins on the spin with a 2-1 victory at Villa Park on Wednesday night. Our first-half performance was exceptional, particularly in the context of a somewhat depleted squad. Ruben Dias struck from distance to give us the lead, before Bernardo Silva scored a goal of the season contender. His volley was emphatic, finishing off one of the most ruthlessly efficient counter-attacks you're likely to see. Ollie Watkins gave villa hope early in the second-half, but we saw the game out fairly comfortably. It was Pep Guardiola's 150th Premier League win, a milestone he has reached in just 204 games. No manager in Premier League history has reached 150 wins quicker than pep. For context, it took Jose Mourinho 231 games Alex Ferguson 247 games to reach that number.
