In Frankfurt verloor hij zichzelf voor even in een vloek die wereldwijd rondging – “Give me the ball, you motherfucker!” Kevin De Bruyne was Wolfsburg.
A good weekend for Kevin's, as De Bruyne's winner sealed victory for Manchester City against Wolves, and Brentford's Schade got two in victory for Brentford against Manchester United. But it was largely another week where many popular assets underperformed again. Suj and James review all the weekend games which included a surprise loss for Arsenal against Bournemouth and the top 5 race intensified with 6 teams scrapping for four places; wjilst there's still a Conference League place for four other teams to potentially fight over. So there are some with plenty still to play for, but for others a limp finish to the line beckons. That will likely include West Ham and Tottenham who played out a drab draw in the Planet FPL Derby. And Tottenham are in the news for Fantasy purposes today with confirmation that their fixture at Villa will be brought forward but remains in Gameweek 37, meaning there will be no more doubles. Solutions offered for those still with the Triple Captaincy and Free Hit covered, Suj nearly hit glory with his Assman but options are now limited for 36, James discusses his Wildcard and transfer targets for what's left are covered throughout the Podcast. United and City played out a dull 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, with both sides lacking cutting edge. City, without the injured Haaland, couldn't break down a well-organised defence. United will be happy to finish with a clean sheet, having conceded 17 in their nine previous league matches at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim.Garnacho was United's main outlet but wasteful and a decent Zirkzee effort was well saved by Ederson. De Bruyne — set to leave City this summer — couldn't provide a spark in a flat game.City stay fifth in the table, United sit 13th, and both teams will just be glad not to have lost. Also on the show, we preview the upcoming Europa League clash against Lyon with the help of Julien Laurens. Vicky Gomersall is joined by The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Sky Sports News reporter Gary Cotterill to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We begin by looking at both Manchester sides; Darren believes it has to be a big summer for United, who must compete against the likes of rising teams Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa (as well as Arsenal, Liverpool and City). Gary believes United will be challenging for the top four next season. Also, Ben Ransom sits down with Pep Guardiola to talk about Kevin De Bruyne announcing his City departure, what Pep has learnt in this tough campaign, and whether he would have been sacked if it wasn't for his prior success.Next to Arsenal, who after their eleventh draw of the season at Goodison, are very much Madrid or bust in the Champions League. Gary attributes the Gunners' league downfall to injuries and lack of a striker, but believes, after a recent trip to London Colney, that Mikel Arteta knows he has his striker of choice in summer. And finally, pressure on Ange Postecoglou, with boos on the touchline and a challenging week with the media. Gary names Tottenham v Southampton ‘the depressed derby' but the Europa League may be the saving grace.
