Die Idee zu dieser Folge ist wegen eines Beitrags auf Johann Scheerers Instagram Seite entstanden. Hier stellte er das Buch V 13 von Emmanuel Carrère vor, das sich mit den Anschlägen in Paris, die vor 10 Jahren am 13.11. 2015 stattfanden, beschäftigt. Johannes hatte zur Zeit der Anschläge mit Pete Doherty Songs in Hamburg aufgenommen.Ein paar Tage nach den Pariser Anschlägen vom 13. November 2015, das Album war schon fertig gemischt, kam Doherty mit einem neuen, letzten Song an: Hell to Pay at the Gates of Heaven, einem Lied für die Opfer des Bataclan-Anschlags. "Come on boys, you gotta choose your weapon: J-45 or AK-47", lautet die erste Zeile. "J-45", das ist die berühmte Westerngitarre der Marke Gibson, gebaut seit 1942 und die AK 47 ist eben ein Kalaschnikow Maschinengewehr. Natürlich nahm Johann Scheerer auch diesen Song auf, schön rumpelig, mit Barpiano und irrlichternden Echo-Gitarren.Am 16. November, zur offiziellen Wiedereröffnung des Bataclan, stand Pete Doherty auf der Bühne des Pariser Clubs und sang unseren Song, "Join the band or join the army!", krähte er in die verschwitzte Menge, eine trotzige Rock-'n'-Roll-Antwort auf fundamentalistischen Terror. Die Bataclan-Betreiber hatten ihn eingeladen, er sei genau der Richtige für die Wiedereröffnung, fanden sie. Would you fight  a war, or start a band?Diese Entscheidung, fast kindlich formuliert, ist in Wahrheit bitterernst.
