Episode 44 with Julie Uhernik. "I've spent so many years researching what is wrong with me — I call it 'me-search.'" Julie is an insurance agent who was diagnosed during the pandemic after an abrupt pivot in her career path left her feeling out-of-sorts. She is a self-proclaimed clumsy, spontaneous, child-like lover of life - who is still trying to understand how a late diagnosis of ADHD may have affected her whole life. She is a life-long learner and collector of credentials. She is a certified life coach through the Certified Coaches Alliance, Certified Canfield Trainer in the Success Principals, Certified Medicaid Planner (CMP), has a bachelor's degree in business management, and is currently practicing as a licensed insurance agent. She is a wife, mother, grandmother and is completely obsessed with horror movies, theme parks, and animals. Julie is a listener of this podcast who reached out to me to share her story because, even though not many people in her life know about her diagnosis — including her own husband — she has benefited so much in her own life from hearing these interviews. We talk all about some of the stigmas that surround ADHD and mental health in general and why, event though this diagnosis is often life-changing for us, coming out of the ADHD closet poses a lot of challenges for many of us. Julie was an absolute pleasure to interview and I know many of you are going to relate so much of her story — I certainly did. Website: julieuinsurance.com You've finally found your people! There are certain people in this world whom some might consider “self-improvement junkies.” These people often read tons of books, listen to audio books and podcasts and they are usually surrounded by like-minded individuals who consider a positive mental attitude as vital to their lives as oxygen. Sharon Fanto is one of those people and I knew this about her when I invited her to be my guest on Everyday Lessons Every Day. What I didn’t prepare for was the amount of good advice she would bring to the table. Unwilling (or maybe unable) to limit her everyday lessons to just one, Sharon shares a great deal of advice that has impacted her life and helped her be successful. Find out why she left a career she loved and is diving into a whole new world filled with anxiety and excitement. And maybe grab a pencil because she’s references a ton of great books and brilliant self-improvement strategies. In This Episode Martin Perdomo “The Elite Strategist” is with Mark Florentine and they diss the four habits you need to acquire to be a successful Real estate Investor. They discuss the importance of measuring the activities that have high yielding results and eliminating the habits that don't produce high returns. Making offers is crucial in the world of real estate investing. One has to continuously be looking at deals and making offers to be successful. This is the life blood of an investors business. If one isn't making offers than the chances of finding and getting a good deal are diminished tremendously. The second habit is one has to close the deals. Ultimately nothing will ever happen if you are not closing the deals. Thirdly one has to execute on the business plan. This is basically taking the deal full circle, If you made an offer, your offer was based on your vision f what you want to do. Th execution part is simply do what you intended to do when you first put your offer. Execute, execute and execute your business plan. We live in the information age. This is the era where most people are drowning with information and are starving of execution. Last raise money if you are not using your own money. In this business no matter how much money you have eventually you will need more money to growing your business. These are the four habit they go into great detail explaining in this podcast. Today we're going to talk about four essential boundaries, so that the holidays can stay fun, you can have a great time with all the traditions. That's truly what the boundaries are all about.Key Points Discussed:Boundaries are an essential part of the holidays, and if you're like... No, can't boundaries during the holidays, it only happens once a year. We only see our family every once in a while, our kids only have so many of these, I'm going to call BS, and especially for you, the busy working mom, because you have to have boundaries, you have to have boundaries in your business, you have to have boundaries in your family. (5:33)Family boundaries. Do you have any? Really think about that. A lot of people, I feel like the number one thing that should be given to people and they get married is the book Boundaries. But most of us don't hear about it until after something big has happened in our life. (7:20)if you're going to somebody else's house, then you ask them, what would you like me to bring? I really want to bring my super casserole, because my kids love it, but what else can I bring to help take something off your plate? (9:18)People are not mind readers, just like your spouse is not. Prince Charming cannot read your mind. It is so important that we take ownership. Chapter one of Jack Canfield's book, that's about the Success Principals, is take responsibility. We have to take responsibility and set the boundaries ahead of time and let people know what we expect and what we do not allow. (9:44)Don't forget to really truly take care of what you need, and I'm not necessarily saying going out and buying yourself the most luxurious gift or doing that, but I'm talking about taking care of your health, not overeating, taking care of your exercise, taking care of your devotion time, taking care of your rest and not getting in a place where you're wearing yourself out. Welcome to Episode 9 of Season 1 – 3 Principles For Success (Including Your Content Creation Schedule) Season 1 of the podcast is all about how you can start your first profitable online business. This season draws its shows from the free downloadable resource ‘The 13 Steps to Creating Your First Profitable Online Business.' In todays show we cover step 8 of the 13 steps to creating your first profitable online business: Your Content Creation Schedule: The 2 foundational pillars of business is to: Add value to your customers ahead of time To get them to know, like and trust you This is why having a content creation schedule is so important. Success Principal # 1: Consistency Consistency leads to success. When you produce consistent content you are training people to come back regularly. However, when your content creation is irregular, you are teaching people not to bother! Most people give up too soon because they are not seeing immediate results. "Success is inevitable if you are consistent." Clive Smit What medium are you going to create in? Written Audio Video A mix of all 3 I recommend making content in the form that you like to consume in. The great thing about making this content is that you can use it as the source or your social media content. And this brings us to the best part... Success Principal # 2: Delegation Get your VA (virtual assistant) to use the transcript of your content to post to your social media accounts. "Can I really do this?" I hear you ask. Not only can you, but you MUST! The two most important questions you need to ask about your business: What can only I do? Who else can do the rest? "But I can't afford..." "Scared money don't make money." Our next success principal will explain why delegation is an absolute must. Success Principal # 3: Focus Most people wear the ability to multitask as a badge of honour. But this simply means that you are NOT focused! Gerald Weinberg found that context switching is a productivity killer. Context switching is the time and energy that it takes to get re-associated and reacquainted to the other project you just moved away from and that you are now coming back to. So stop multitasking and focus! F. O. C. U. S. = follow one course until success. We can do this by batching our work. Take a day each month, fortnight or day to create your content. Calendar this is to your schedule now. Create as much as you can on this day so you can get ahead and have margin for times when emergencies or opportunities pop up on your calendar. What other regular tasks can you batch? In The Next Episode: In the next episode we'll look at step 9 in the 13 step process to creating your profitable online business: Creating A Traffic Plan I look forward to reading your questions and comments! Mentors often make the difference between us successfully finishing the stuff that matters and just thinking or dreaming about it. This is especially the case for young adults and new entrepreneurs, who often times get so much well meaning, but bad advice from other people who’ve never gone where the ‘would be mentee’ is trying to go. Jeff Hopeck joins me to jam about the value of mentors and some ways to go about building your own mentor group. Ready? Let’s do this! Key Takeaways: [2:00] Charlie tells us about Jeff Hopeck’s background. [3:25] Jeff talks about his work and how he ended up being an entrepreneur. [8:00] Jeff discusses how he ended up on the Howard Stern Radio. [9:30] Jeff lets us know how Killer Shark was born. [11:15] Why do so many entrepreneurs fail out of the gate? [14:15] Focus on the growth and the pathway to there, not necessarily the destination. [14:45] Why is it important to have mentors at a young age? [17:20] Charlie asks Jeff how he went from a Marketing Degree to the US Secret Service. [19:30] Jeff shares with us the pathway he took to get him to the place where he is today. [21:45] Jeff tells us about Jack Canfield’s book, The Success Principals. [23:50] Charlie and Jeff discuss Jordan Agolli from Episode 56. [27:55] Align yourself with people who don’t question whether you will be successful, but help you to figure out how you’ll be successful. [28:20] How would young people go about finding a mentor? [28:38] Jeff outlines how he chooses the different mentors in his life. [33:30] What is the #1 huge piece in choosing a mentor. [37:53] Jeff shares two “Anchor Posts” on his website: 13 Questions I think Entrepreneurs Should Constantly Ask 9 Most Common Mistakes Entrepreneurs Make (and Usually Repeat) [40:00] Jeff discusses the importance of aligning with your ethical and spiritual core values. [42:45] Young people need to have a vision. Start formulating now. [48:00] What do people get wrong when choosing a mentor? This is the first of a multi-part series on the Compassionate Capitalist Radio Show. Karen Rands will guide the listeners through each of the key concepts behind the powerful and timeless Think & Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. Each segment will feature a guest that will explore the topics put forth as the foundation for a secret to wealth, power, and success first presented by Napolean Hill in 1937. Although the original ideas were seen as progressive, even revolutionary, they were borne out of a proven approach to the pursuit of goals and dreams; and the achievement of excellence. The proven results were seen in the fortunes and legacies created by the likes of the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, and Getty's. The concepts set forth in the original manifest over 75 years ago are reborn in modern variations such as The Secret, The Millionaire Mindset, Power of Positive Thinking, and countless others. With this series, we will explore the original text and the core concepts, with each special guest bringing real life experience and application you can use today as you pursue your own dreams and goals. See the articles and get access to each podcast as they become available at http://entrepreneurblogspace.com/think-and-grow-rich/ This first episode will feature special guest Ples Bruce. Ples is a serial entrepreneur who has applied the power of Think and Grow Rich as he navigates through his many successful businesses and other opportunities, and helping entrepreneurs do the same. Karen and Ples will look at the history behind Think & Grow Rich and offer an overview of the concepts and teachings of this timeless blueprint for success.
