Did you know that the neural pathways for relationship are developed in the first three years of a person's life? This is the heart of what's called attachment theory and affects our relationship with ourselves, others, and even our relationships with God. I'm so honored to welcome today's guest, Summer Joy Gross. Summer is a spiritual director, Anglican priest, and writer who weaves neuroscience, attachment theory, and spiritual practices to help us root ourselves in God's presence and nearness. In this conversation, Summer walks us through each of the 4 attachment styles, showing us how our earliest experiences of love shape the way that we've come to experience God. We talk about the attachment wounds of each style, and how the Spirit actively pursues our healing in these places. Summer also guides us through a beautiful attachment practice in real-time to help to reconnect to God in a more secure way. The music used in this podcast is titled Soaking in His Presence by William Augusto. In today's episode, Stasi invites us to reimagine “duty” through the heart of faithfulness and loving Jesus as a response to His extravagant love. Whether you're feeling weary or longing for deeper connection, Stasi shares how life with God isn't about lifeless obligation, but passion and intimacy. Though sometimes duty and obedience are the only driving forces we possess, in time duty will shift to desire as we encounter Jesus. Stasi also guides us through a prayer to rest in the Presence of Jesus and to meet with Him today. Friends, we pray that today's podcast will help you find hope, rest, and restoration as you draw near to the One who first loved us.…..SHOW NOTES:…..REGISTER: Ablaze: Setting Hearts on Fire for Jesus – wildatheart.org/ablazeAblaze is an exclusive six-week online journey, beginning Tuesday, January 14, 2025For more information or to register, visit wildatheart.org/ablazeVERSES: 2 John 5–6 (NIV) — And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. In the final episode of our Radical Discipleship series, we explore the transformative practice of encountering and embodying the Trinity. Stasi shares how intimately knowing God—through creation, our senses, and stillness—allows us to rest in His goodness and be saturated by His love. This awareness leads to trust, worship, and ultimately embodying Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, we are invited to be filled with Jesus and live out His love. Stasi closes with a powerful time of prayer to help us encounter our King. Friends, we hope this series has inspired you to discover the many ways we can truly know, worship, love, and live intimately with God and partner with him, so that he spills over into every aspect of our lives.…..SHOW NOTES:…..VERSES: Psalm 46:10 (NIV) — He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”John 13:35 (NIV) — By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) — And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.Matthew 7:24–27 (NIV) — “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. This week Benjamin Chua walked through the story of Paul's return to Jerusalem in Acts 21:17-25. Almost immediately after entering Jerusalem, Paul learns the church there is fiercely enthusiastic for the law, not Jesus. For the Jewish Christians in Jerusalem their belief wasn't rooted in the foundational story of God's covenant family culminating in Jesus and looking ahead to the fullness of His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, but in a rigid, backwards-looking interpretation of the law, in which they used Jesus to rubber-stamp their rule-following theology. The church is to be a community cradled in the love of God, with love for one another. This is what Paul fought for and it's what we should fight for, too.*The music at the end of the sermon is "3 Hours of Soaking in His Presence" by William Augusto. The full song can be found here.

S10.E4 // In this episode, H2O Staff Member Aaron Kaufman invites eight people in the church, mainly students, to read eight chapters of Romans! As we've studied Romans 1-8 this semester, let's wrap up with hearing the Word of God! Follow along as H2O reads to us these chapters! We typically read through one chapter or portion of Scripture each week and then come together on Sundays in house churches to discuss what we read. Once a month, all our house churches gather together as one body for a sermon-centered service, where we record the teaching and upload it as our podcast. In this episode, I get to share a most interesting story… one that you may have a hard time believing. Life for Ashley Lagos started fairly normal. From all appearances, she was just a good kid from a good family in a small town. She grew up in church and her parents were involved in music and youth ministry. But things started to take a turn when she was just 4 years old.***Parental Warning: The subject matter in this episode is of an adult nature. Lady V's Devotional Episode Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT) says: The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT) Devotional I'm a mother. And ever since my daughter was a baby, I had my ears tuned to hear her cry. And, although she is an adult now, I'm still concerned about her well-being. So much so, I'll come running when she needs me! I want to know when something troubles her! I want to rescue her from any hurts or disappointments. I love her that much! No doubt, love makes you want to rescue the ones you love! So, when we read Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT), we are reminded of the Heavenly Father's love for us. The Heavenly Father tunes in to HIS children too. He's not a distant God. He is close enough to hear our cries! Yet, there are times when things are going bad, we forget that He hears us. We forget that we matter to God. But we must not forget that the Lord's love is infinite towards us. He has concerns about everything that troubles us. God is close! The Word of God says in Proverbs 18:24 (AMP), that He's a true, loving friend who is reliable and sticks closer than a brother. So, not only is He your Heavenly Father, He's also a reliable friend. He's closer than you think. Thus, He's the ONE you want to share your heart with. He's the ONE you call when you face trouble. He's the ONE that comes to your rescue. And, He's the ONE who deserves our total devotion. Beloved, don't go through troubles thinking that you are alone. When you feel like you're about to be swallowed up with trouble-- Remind yourself of Psalm 34. Then call out to the LORD. Ask for help! Then expect the LORD to come to your rescue. Let's pray... Heavenly Father, We come to you in the Name of Jesus with thanksgiving in our hearts. Father God, we thank YOU that we can always depend on YOU. You will not neglect us nor will you ignore our cries for help. We cast every care, every anxiety on YOU, because YOU care for us. Thank YOU that YOU are our helper and we do not have to fear. Thank YOU that we don't have to be anxious about anything. When we pray, YOU hear us and YOUR Peace guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. We can come boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy and grace to help in the time of need. For this, we thank YOU LORD! We receive it done, and give YOU all the glory, in the Name of Jesus. Amen! Grace and Peace to you all! And remember that JESUS IS LORD!!! Lady V's Devotional Episode Romans 8:32 (TPT) says: For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won't withhold from us anything else he has to give. Romans 8:32 (TPT) Devotional A father's love is such a treasured gift to any child. And the Heavenly Father, gave us HIS greatest treasure in the gift of His Son. God's love poured out upon humanity through the greatest sacrifice ever known on the Cross. When Jesus died on the Cross for the sins of the world, God's love was proven. God loves us more than we can fathom and we should never doubt that. Instead, let's acknowledge that the sacrifice of HIS Son wasn't an easy one—but it was necessary to save humanity. I cannot imagine the agony that Jesus endured for our sins. And as a parent; what must that have been like for the Heavenly Father? Even though Jesus is fully God and fully human, He still allowed Himself to suffer greatly for our sakes. But—isn't that what love is? Love is patient and kind. Love always protects, love always perseveres. Love never stops loving! So why do we have such a hard time believing and receiving that God loves us so much? Beloved, it's time to face the TRUTH about our Heavenly Father—GOD. God loves us, HE is for us, and HE has so much more prepared for us. So, as we stay in a posture of thanksgiving and RECEIVE the goodness of God—the world will be a witness to HIS love. Let's pray... Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus, and I thank YOU for all who were led to receive this message of YOUR great love for them. Father God, I ask that as YOU manifest YOUR goodness in each person's life, I ask for the release of every good and perfect gift. I ask that they continue to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living as YOU perfect that which concerns them. Release the exceeding abundance above all we could ever ask for or even think about in this season of YOUR goodness. And I ask all these things in Jesus' name that it will be done according to YOUR Word in, John 14:14, where Jesus said, to ask in HIS name and HE will do it. So, I declare it done in Jesus' Great Name! Amen. Grace and Peace to you all, Remember--that JESUS IS LORD!!! Lady V's Devotional Episode Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP) says; 20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP) Devotional In Christ, we have the advantage over the rest of the world. We serve a God that has unlimited resources and power. We serve the God of the OVERFLOW. LIVING in the OVERFLOW has everything to do with being IN CHRIST. IN CHRIST—there is no lack! Often times, life doesn't quite look like we are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath—but it's true. God's Word declares that we are set apart. We are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus our LORD. WE are HIS heirs because we are joint heirs with Christ. And because of Jesus, we are now heirs of ALL the promises of God. IMAGINE for one moment that you could see the heavenly warehouse which contains everything that God has—JUST FOR YOU! And it all waits to be released at just the right time and just the right season of your life. Beloved, Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that “God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine.” So, we need to ask BIG! Stop limiting God by our human limitations! We belong to Jesus. We are in the family of the great I AM! Jesus gave us the right to ask. In John 14:14, Jesus said “You may ask me for anything in my name. I will do it.” Ok now, let's clarify that statement. You may ask Jesus for anything IN THE WORD. Remember, Jesus has many names that refers to HIM. He is—THE WORD OF GOD. So, when we ask, we should expect God's goodness to show up. Now, start LIVING in the OVERFLOW by remembering who you are. YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS! Your identity is a child of the MOST HIGH GOD. “He does everything by his power that is working in us.” In other words, our faith in the SON of God, carries the power that manifests the overflow. His HOLY SPIRIT is in us thus HIS POWER is working in us! So, don't let ANYONE deceive you into forgetting who you are. And don't talk yourself out of receiving ALL that God has for you! He's the God of the OVERFLOW! Beloved, I declare and decree that you are LIVING in the OVERFLOW NOW!!! Receive God's goodness now! And give HIM ALL the glory, the honor and the praise! In Jesus great name! Amen. Grace and Peace to you all! And remember that JESUS IS LORD!!! Lady V’s Devotional Episode Exodus 15:2 (NLT) says: “The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!" Exodus 15:2 (NLT) Devotional Remember the songs of your past that evoked emotion? Some songs reminded you of good things. Yet, others reminded you of bad experiences which brought you to tears. Either way, there were always songs playing in your head. When we look back in Exodus chapter 14, the people of Israel were playing songs in their heads of fear, doom and despair. There was nothing positive playing on the radio. And then, it happened! God turned their sorrow into joy. No longer was their grim situation of bondage able to keep them held hostage to the sorrow song station. Exodus 15:2 records a new song playing in their ear—a song of praise in their mouths. God gave them a new song! Now, they’d realized that what looked like an impossible situation was no longer the case. God had delivered them and gave them a new song—a song of deliverance. And although it was a long time coming, the change did finally come. That change came with a victory song of praise attached to it. God gave them a new song! Beloved, I don’t know what songs have been playing in your head, but today—change the station. Let your song now be as the children of Israel sang in Exodus 15:2. The Lord IS your strength. The Lord has given you the victory. The Lord is worthy of all the praise. Expect HIS goodness today! Let’s Pray… Father God, Thank you for loving us! We give you all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise. YOU are all we’ve ever needed. Thank you for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Thank you that YOU are our strength, and our shield, and by faith our heart trusts in YOU Lord. Father God, because your love is better than life, by faith our lips will glorify you. By faith, we will praise you as long as we live, and by faith in your name we will lift up our hands. And even though it’s hard sometimes, we declare and decree that by faith, we put our hope in YOU, our Savior and God! Our heart leaps for joy for you put a new song in our mouths. Glory to YOUR HOLY NAME! In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen, Amen, Amen! Grace and Peace to You! Have Faith in Jesus! And remember Jesus Is LORD!!! {Prayer Scriptures: Isaiah 25:1, Psalm 28:7, 42:11, 63:3-4} Lady V Bible Study Resources Holy Bible [NKJV, NLT, Amplified, TPT, MEV, ESV] Get the Bible App by YouVersion NLT Chronological Life Application Study Bible More devotionals you may like Set Free for a New Start JESUS is the Faithful Love Rest in the Secret Place of GOD Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast with SD and Lady V Use web player above blog post to listen or subscribe and listen via your favorite podcast platform. Lady V’s Devotional Episode Philippians 4:19 (NLT) says: “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (NLT) Devotional Even at the start of our lives, God has been taking care of us. In the womb, as we began to form, God was there supplying what we needed and we didn’t even know it. We didn’t have a care in the world, and we didn’t even think about what was needed. Likewise, we didn’t have to know what we needed because God made sure to supply our needs since the beginning of time. And just like He knew we would need food and water, he also knew we needed a Savior. Thus, God sent HIS Son, Jesus, to meet our need for Salvation even before we were even born. And, sometimes the need is met through discomfort or pain. For instance, Jesus died on the Cross supplying our need for Salvation. It cost HIS life, but then, when He got UP, HE made new life readily available to all that would believe in Him. Emmanuel, God with us (Matt. 1:23), knowing that we needed HIM, provided a way to HIM. So, for all that would believe in HIM would find forgiveness of all sin. No doubt, being the Faithful Provider, God has provided Salvation for all who would have faith in His Son. So, when we realized that we NEEDED Jesus for life and godliness the need was already met. Also, God foreknew that we needed HIS Word to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path for guidance. We cannot see our way through life without HIM. We NEED Jesus! No matter what state of life you or I am in, God is still keeping His word to provide our every need. He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. It’s already supplied! Beloved, as we hold fast to God’s word, we must remember that we can trust God to meet our needs. So stop—take a breath, and rest in the promises of God. So when life gets to a point where it doesn’t look like, or feel like God is meeting your need—look again! He’s Jehovah Jireh! He’s the ULTIMATE SUPPLIER! It’s already supplied! Now by faith receive the Word of the Lord—He Has Already Supplied ALL your NEEDS, in Jesus’ name. IT IS SO! Let’s Pray… Father God, Thank you for loving us! We give you all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise. You are all we ever need, because what we need is in YOU! YOU ARE ENOUGH!!! Thank you for seeing our needs and meeting them in YOUR way and in YOUR timing. For we know that YOU are never late, but YOU are always right on schedule. As our times are in your hands, we graciously yield to YOUR leading, YOUR provision, and YOUR guidance. Let YOUR WORD manifest every need provided, every good thing, in Jesus’ great name, It Is SO! Amen, Amen, and Amen! Grace and Peace to You! Have Faith in Jesus! And remember Jesus Is LORD!!! {Prayer Scriptures: Psalm 31:15, Isaiah 26:3, Phil. 4:19} Lady V Bible Study Resources Holy Bible [NKJV, NLT, Amplified, TPT, MEV, ESV] Get the Bible App by YouVersion NLT Chronological Life Application Study Bible More devotionals you may like Set Free for a New Start JESUS is the Faithful Love Rest in the Secret Place of GOD Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast with SD and Lady V Use web player above blog post to listen or subscribe and listen via your favorite podcast platform. Lady V’s Devotional Episode 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) says: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) Devotional For the Christian, we struggle at times in our walk with Christ trying to do right. Let’s be honest—it’s hard! We’re not perfect—But, Jesus IS! He knows our struggles to make the right decisions daily. Sometimes it feels like driving at a high speed on a race track and all of a sudden we are spinning out of control. It’s scary and we feel like screaming, “God Help! God, how will I get back on course? The good news is that God is full of goodness, kindness, and mercy. He’s faithful to help us correct our course if we just look to His Word. HIS help is readily available to us who trust in HIS Word. God will never leave you, HIS LOVE is unconditional! You are adored by HIM! His plan for our lives has already factored in the mistakes you and I will make. And the good news is that God gave us HIS Word to help us get back on track and STAY ON COURSE. So don’t give up because you’ve hit a snag on the course. Keep moving and take God’s Word with you. Let’s Pray… Heavenly Father, We come to you in the name of Jesus—expecting to receive. Father God we thank you that we are already loved by you! And because of that great love you have for us, we can trust that nothing can take us out of your hands or your will. Help us to know that we can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive help in any time of need, no matter what we face or need help with. Father God, you are our EVERYTHING! We lack NO GOOD THING! You have already provided every need from the beginning. You know our frame, you know our thoughts, you know us better than we know ourselves, and you STILL love us! We praise you Heavenly Father for your faithfulness through your Word. Thank you that you have fit us with an armor to hold back the storms of life and face them with the boldness of Christ’s authority. You have empowered us through your Word and your Holy Spirit to correct whatever mistakes we’ve found ourselves in that needs correcting. If we get side-tracked on our course, God you are here to help us, correct us, and encourage us to not give up but —STAY ON COURSE. Father God, thank you that you have made even our mistakes work for our good. We WILL do all that you have purposed us to do in this life. We ARE NOT discarded BUT regarded as the children of the MOST HIGH GOD. Heavenly Father, we thank you for being OUR PERSON that always has our back. Let all you’ve planned for our lives be manifested so we can tell of how good you are to all that will listen. We thank you Heavenly Father, and we call this prayer answered in Jesus name. Amen, Amen, Amen! Grace and Peace to You! Have Faith in Jesus!
